Pokémon: Equestria
Sweetie Belle & First Trainer Victory
Previous ChapterAfter returning to the Pokémon Center and getting Bulbasaur fully healed, Lucky went back into the grass fields to try his luck. After a few minutes of searching, he caught a wild Pokémon that was known as Pidgey, a Pokémon that resembles a bird. And after some wild Pokémon battles, he managed to get Pidgey to a higher level along with Bulbasaur who’s now LVL 8. Right now, Lucky and Bulbasaur were walking down a dirt path and looked to see if they could find any Pokémon trainers or possibly some items.
“Hey Bulbasaur are you okay?” He asked his Pokémon as it did look a little frustrated. The only response he got was a angry sounding “Bulba.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Bulba Bulbasaur! Bulbasaur Bulba!” It ranted.
“Oh. You’re still mad about losing to Charmander?” Lucky asked. Bulbasaur nodded as he growled.
“Bulbasaur, don’t worry. We’ll have victories and losses during our journey. But we’ll become the best team in history and there’s no stopping that.” Lucky said to his Pokémon, making it give off a small smile.
“Bulba.”
“That’s the spirit. So how about we take a-”
“BULBA!” His Pokémon interrupted as he stopped and stared forward. Lucky looked forward and saw a little filly playing with a Pokémon that had a skull on it’s head.
“Whoa t-that’s a Cubone.” He said as he pulled out his Pokédex.
Cubone
The Lonely Pokémon
Height: 1’04”
Weight: 14.3 lbs.
A Ground-type Pokémon, Cubone. Cubone has earned its classification as the Lonely Pokémon from its usual attitude of caring only for itself.
He was amazed to see a Cubone here but he was even more surprised by its trainer. It was a unicorn with cream white fur and a curly mane and tail that was purple and pink. Her eyes were a shade of misty green and she was wearing a light purple shirt with white shorts. He felt a sensation come over him that came when Black Jack and him fought.
“Bulbasaur, do you feel up for another battle?” He asked his Pokémon who smirked.
“Bulbasaur!”
“Alright. Well, let’s go.” He said as he slowly walked towards the filly with Bulbasaur right next to him. The filly didn’t appear to see both of them walking towards her as she played with the Cubone as though it was a Groudon.
“C’mon Cubone catch!” She shouted as she tossed a small bone towards it and the Pokémon responded by jumping up and grabbed the bone.
“CUBONE!” It shouted as the Pokémon landed. The Cubone then turned it’s attention towards Lucky.
“Oh I know there’s someone there. What did you think I was blind?” She asked him.
“Whoa. I’m sorry but… me and Bulbasaur couldn’t help but notice you two playing together.” Lucky explained as he pointed down to his friend. When the filly laid her eyes on Bulbasaur, she let out an ‘awwwwwwwe’ and ran up to the little Pokémon, knocking Lucky down in the process. “Okay I wasn’t expecting that.” Lucky said to himself as he picked himself back up. He noticed that the filly was hugging the life out of his Bulbasaur as it tried to break free.
“BULBA!” It shouted as it tried to wriggle free.
“Aww. Who’s the cute wittle Pokémon? You are. Yes you-”
“Um… could you let go of my Pokémon please?” Lucky interrupted and gaining her attention.
“Oops. Sorry.” She said as she let the small Pokémon out of her grip, allowing him to run to Lucky. “I’m really sorry about that. I just get like that whenever I see a cute Pokémon. Oh.. I haven’t said who I am yet. I’m Sweetie Belle and this is my partner Cubone.” The filly said as she pointed to her small friend who just raised its bone club. “Cu.”
“How did you even get a Cubone? They usually live in rocky areas.” Lucky asked, legitimately confused as to how she came to possess the Pokémon despite being far away from any rocky area.
“Oh… don’t tell my sister but I do sneak up there sometimes. I found some really cool Pokémon up there.” She explained. Lucky just smiled as he looked at the Pokémon.
“Don’t worry. If I ever meet your sister, your secret is safe with me. So what are you and Cubone doing out near Canterlot?”
“Well since I’m a Pokémon trainer, I usually go out looking for Pokémon whenever I’m not in school. And I heard that Canterlot had some unique Pokémon around, I thought I’d come see what I could find. But.. so far I’ve found nothing.” She told him.
“Well… since you have a Pokémon and so do I… wanna have a battle?” He asked. The filly’s eyes lit up with excitement
“I would love to! I’m warning you I’m not gonna hold back though.” She told him with a smile on her face. Lucky smiled a little bit as well. The two backed away, making enough room for the battle zone.
“Okay then. Go Bulbasaur!” He shouted. His Pokémon leaped and smiled as it prepared to battle. “Bulba!”
“Alright. Cubone this’ll be our official trainer battle. Let’s give it our all and hope we can win.” Sweetie said as her Cubone ran onto the field.
“Alright. Mares first.” Lucky said.
“Why thank you. Cubone, Bone Club!” Sweetie said. Cubone raised the club shaped bone in its hand and charged Bulbasaur.
“Dodge it pal!” Lucky shouted, making the Grass-type Pokémon leap to the side. “Now Vine Whip!”
“Bulba!” Bulbasaur grunted as he allowed two snake like vines to come out and rush towards Cubone.
“Cubone use Bonemerang!” Sweetie shouted. Cubone nodded and threw the club with surprising accuracy. The bone swatted the vines back and then smacked Bulbasaur in the head, making it grunt in pain. “Bulbasaur!” Lucky shouted as his Pokémon rubbed the bump on his head. The bone then flew back to Cubone as it landed in his hand.
“Nice shot Cubone. Now let’s hit him with a headbutt!” Just as she said that, Cubone lowered its head and charged.
“Come on Bulbasaur Razor Leaf!” Lucky shouted and The Grass-Type Pokémon complied as it shot out several shuriken like leaves that hit Cubone. “Nice Bulbasaur, now lets-”
“Cubone, Dig!” Sweetie shouted. To Lucky’s surprise, the small Ground-Type Pokémon dug into the ground and was gone in a few seconds.
“W-What the-”
“Dig. It’s a move that’s always effective… except on Flying-Type Pokémon.” Sweetie interrupted with a smile on her face. Lucky groaned for Dig was not a dodgeable move.
“Bulbasaur run around and don’t let Cubone find where you are!” Lucky ordered, making Bulbasaur quickly bolt around the battlefield, hoping that Cubone wouldn’t hit him. His hopes were in vain as Cubone soon leaped up from the ground with Bulbasaur in it’s clutches. “No! Not this time! Bulbasaur use Vine Whip.” He shouted. The Grass-Type Pokémon nodded and once more it allowed the snake-like tendrils to hit Cubone. “Alright. Now use your Sleeping Powder!” Lucky shouted, making the Pokémon puff out a familiar green dust from his bulb.
“Sleeping Powder?!” Sweetie squeaked as her Cubone fell asleep where it stood.
“Yup! Now Bulbasaur, end this with your Razor Leaf!” Lucky shouted.
“Bulbasaur!” The Pokémon shouted as it launched leaves at Cubone that struck him and to Lucky’s surprise, the Ground-Type fell to the ground with a groan meaning “I WON!”
“NO!” Sweetie cried out. She ran up to her Pokémon and held it in her arms. “C-Cubone are you okay?” She asked it with tears in her eyes.
“C-Cubone.”
“Oh thank Celestia.” She said as she hugged him.
“Um… sorry about hurting your Pokémon.” Lucky said.
“Don’t worry. I have some revives in my bag so she’ll be okay.”
“That’s…. SHE?!”
“Uh-huh. My Cubone’s a girl. I guess I should’ve told you huh?” She asked.
“Well… yeah. But I’m still sorry. So now what’re you going to do?” He asked her.
“Um… well if it’s alright, I wanna travel around with you.” She replied.
“Well I mean I’m going to some pretty far places so-”
“PLEASE!!!!” She begged as she turned on her ultimate weapon. Her eyes grew big and watery as she puffed them out. Lucky knew this trick as he has fallen victim to it many times. He was looking dead on into the glare of the puppy dog eyes.
“Well… I can’t… you…. FINE!” He said as he became weak over the eyes but made Sweetie smile.
“Yay! I promise you, you won’t forget bringing me along. I can help you with your Pokémon whenever they get hurt, I can tell you some stuff about the Gym Leaders and-”
“Please say cook food. I forgot to pack some.”
“Um…. about that… I can’t cook worth a Grimer.”
“NNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!”
