Trixie stared at Gold Ring. Gold had always picked on her for her blank flank, and Trixie hated that. Trixie jumped down from the swing and walked up to Gold Ring. She didn't say anything, but was trying to levitate Gold away. Only a few pearly pink sparks came out. "Oooh, what, is this your talent? Shooting sparks? Maybe they should call you Sparky!" mocked Gold Ring . Her friend, Crystal Necklace, snickered.
Sunset Shimmer overheard this and ran straight up in front of Trixie. She stood tall before Gold Ring and Crystal Necklace and said, "Leave her alone! Stop picking on ponies just 'cause they don't have cutie marks!"  Trixie added, "Yeah, you were both blank flanks at once." Gold and Crystal made a face at them and trotted away.
"So, what's your name?" asked Sunset Shimmer, turning to Trixie. "Trixie," said Trixie. "I'm Shimmer, Sunset Shimmer. Don't you just hate those two?" said Sunset. "Yeah, they are pretty mean,'' replied Trixie. "If ya hang with me, we can make sure those two don't bother us or anypony else," said Sunset. "Sure, we can hang out!" Trixie replied. "Friends?" asked Sunset. "Friends!" replied Trixie.
