"Sweetibelle! You’re on in an hour!"Exclaimed a pony from behind an enormous red curtain.
“Okay I'm just getting my voice warmed up.” Sweetie Belle responded.
"SWEETIE BELLE! SWEETIE BELLE!"
The roar of the crowd made Sweetie belle feel nervous. It was her first live concert outside of Canterlot after all.
"Oh I don’t know if I can go through with this." She said nervously as she paced back and forth. "Come on Sweetie, you have to pull yourself together. Everypony has been waiting for this moment. Do it for your crowd, for your family, for....”
She paused as she noticed a faint gleaming light coming from her dressing room. Slowly, she trotted towards the dressing room. the closer she got, the brighter the light became. Although the light was bright, it felt inviting to Sweetie Belle. A certain warmth it gave to her heart made her feel welcome, drawing her closer to the source.
Focusing on the door, Sweetie Belle's horn shown a dim teal light. That same light began to illuminate around the door, which caused it to gradually swing open. As the it opened, a bright flare blinded Sweetie Belle for a brief moment. But as quickly the light appeared; it vanished, leaving the room dark.
"That's strange." Sweetie Belle said as she tried to turn on the lights by flicking the light switch.
Click!
The sound of the switch echoed in the dark room, but not a single ounce of light shown.
"I knew the employees would forget to rewire the lights in my dressing room. Wait. Then where was that other light coming from?" Sweetie thought to herself as she slowly made her way into the dark baron room, squinting her eyes to adjust to the darkness.
Using her horn Sweetie Belle tried to shine a little light into the room. The dim light her horn gave was enough to clearly decipher the room.
It was nothing special really. Just your typical celebrity dressing room. White walls, lights indented in the ceiling, and a black and white checkered floor. Directly in front of Sweetie Belle was a single makeup table with a mirror. On the rim of the mirror, were small light bulbs. beside both ends of the table were mannequins that were sprawled in beautiful multicolored dresses. Surely anypony would give a left hind leg just to wear a single one of them.
"I still can't thank you enough for these big sis." Sweetie Belle said as she admired each individual dress.
Staring back at the table, Sweetie Belle looked over her small selection of luxurious perfumes and makeups she had gained from shopping all corners of Equestria. From Los Pegusus, to beyond the great Crystal Mountains, Sweetie Belle had every brand a pony could think of. But one particular sapphire bottle of perfume caught her eye.
"Angélique Fleur." Sweetie read the label on the bottle aloud, chuckling to herself shortly afterward.
"You know. Of all ponies, I never expected you to have such an expensive bottle of perfume. Let alone know about perfume to begin with." Sweetie said as she continued to stare at the bottle.
"You were always there for us when we were down in the dumps. And no matter how many times we failed, you were always there to help us regain our confidence." Clutching the bottle tightly in her hoof, a single tear rolled down Sweetie Belles snow white cheek.
"He-he Remember? You gave me this bottle to help me with my former childhood crush. You told me no matter what, one spray of this special perfume, and everypony will be head over heals in love at first whiff. Was it true? I still can't say that I'm certain. Did it work? You bet Luna's moon it did! Well with a little help from Scootaloo as well. Hey? What did you say it meant again? Uh...Angelic Blossom right? You know it really did help me blossom that day, and the inner angel inside me finally let it's voice be heard. I can never thank you enough for this. I wish...I wish you were here so I could tell you how much I appreciate it in person. I wish we could be together again, but I guess it'll have to wait huh? I'm really gonna miss you...Applebloom."
~~~~~~~
It was just another average day for the Cutiemark Crusaders. They were off to find out who they were but with no success as usual.
"Jeez I'm really starting to think that were never gonna find our cutiemarks!" Said Scootaloo with a grunt.
"Yeah we been tryin our darn’d hardest for the past few months, and we ain't even come close to finding out who we are!" Added Applebloom.
"What do you think Sweetie belle!" Both Ponies said at the same time.
But Sweetie belle was silent. She had been lost in her own train of thought.
Scootaloo and Applebloom looked at her with confusion.
"Uh Sweetie belle are you okay?" Asked Scootaloo only to be left with a long awkward silence from her.
"Hello Earth to Sweetie belle!" Said Applebloom waving a hoof in front of Sweetie's face bringing her back to reality.
"Oh sorry girls I was just thinking about what Twilight said a while back about-"
Suddenly she was cut short by Scootaloo as she noticed Rainbow dash flying by.
"Rainbow dash! Hey Rainbow dash wait up!" Screamed Scootaloo as she raced towards her.
"Come on Sweetiebell, we best catch up with em before we lose em." Said Applebloom taking Sweetie's hoof in hers and galloping after Scootaloo.
It was obvious that Rainbow dash wanted nothing to do with them, especially her crazy number one fan Scootaloo. But Rainbow thought that maybe if she helped them out now, then maybe they would leave her alone the rest of the day.
"So watsup squirts!" Said Rainbow with a forced grin.
"Can you please help us out Rainbow dash, we've been trying to get our cutiemarks forever now, but we fail every time." Scootaloo pleaded.
"Wow I thought you girls would have got them by now." Rainbow mumbled under her breath.
"What was that?" Scootaloo said with a smile thinking that Rainbow mumbled something helpful.
"Nothing!" Said Rainbow quickly, nervously looking side to side.
"Well do you think you can help us or not." Applebloom said suddenly.
"Well I think the best way to get your cutiemark is to do something that's awesome!" Rainbow said with pride.
"We tried that already, but it didn't work." Sweetie belle cut in.
"Well if that’s the case then I can't help you." Said Rainbowdash as she quickly flew off.
"That didn't go by like I planned." Scootaloo said with a sigh, her ears sagging low.
"Come on let's go find somepony else that might be able to help.” Said Sweetie belle.
As the Cutiemark Crusaders made their way down Sugarcube Corner, they noticed Pinkie pie bouncing around like always.
Sweetie belle was the first to approach the hyper active pony.
"Hey there Pinkie pie. I hope you don't mind me asking but, can you help us find out our special talent so we can get our cutiemarks."
Pinkie began to giggle.
"You three crack me up. Here take this microphone, I'm sure you won't regret it." Said the pink pony pulling a microphone out of no where, giving the microphone to Sweetie belle with her mouth.
Using her magic, Sweetie belle took the microphone from Pinkies mouth.
"Uh thanks I guess? But how is this going to-" Sweetie noticed that Pinkie pie had already been bouncing off.
"Use it wisely!" Pinkie shouted in the distance.
"You know, I really think that there’s something wrong with her." Said Scootaloo.
"I dunno, maybe she isn't as crazy as she seems." Sweetie said staring at the microphone. "I feel like she just did something really special. I'm not sure what it is, but it’s just a feeling."
Applebloom and Scootaloo stared at Sweetie belle.
"I think she’s starting to catch Pinkie's crazy." Whispered Scootaloo to Applebloom, waving her hoof in a circular motion beside her ear.
Applebloom and Scootaloo laughed uncontrollably.
"Hey I'm being serious here." Sweetie belle said with a pout.
"Sweeties friends still laughed at her until their sides hurt."
"Sorry Sweetie belle, w-what was it that you wanted to tell us again?" Said Scootaloo catching her breath.
"Well remember when I was daydreaming earlier today." Said Sweetie belle.
"Eyuup, you was lookin off into space like Granny Smith when she falls asleep with her eyes open." Responded Applebloom.
"Yeah we remember that. What were you thinking about anyway Sweetie belle?" Added Scootaloo.
Sweetie belle looked down at the microphone and spoke.
"Well remember when we entered the talent show and completely made fools out of ourselves. Said Sweetie belle, still staring down at the microphone.
"How could I ever forget." Said Applebloom.
"Yeah complete and total disaster." Added Scootaloo.
"But remember when Twilight told us to embrace out natural talent to find who we were. And silly enough we thought it was comedy?"
"Yeah but where are you going with this Sweetie belle?" Asked Scootaloo.
Sweetie belle's eyes widened, as she finally realized what Twilight meant by Embracing your talent.
Then she spoke as if she were speaking to herself.
"So instead of miss guiding ourselves with what we think our talent is, we should be embracing the talent's that we already have to find out who we are!" Exclaimed Sweetie belle as she ran off.
"Come on girls follow me!" Sweetie belle’s voice echoed on as Celestia's sun set in the horizon.
"Wait up Sweetie belle!" Shouted Scootaloo as she and Applebloom chased after her
"Lemme get one thing strait. So yer sayin that we shouldn be lookin for a needle in a hay stack if we have the needle to begin with.
"Exactly!" Sweetie belle said with a smile.
"Where are we going anyway!?" Shouted Scootaloo once again.
"To the Cutiemark Crusaders club house!" Said Sweetie belle galloping faster than she ever had before.
The Cutiemark Crusaders galloped on until they finally reached their club house. Sweetie belle was the first inside. While Applebloom and Scootaloo stood outside and caught their breath.
"Come on you two hurry up!" Sweetie belle said waving a hoof out the club house window.
Suddenly a wonderful melody from an angelic voice was heard coming from the window.
"I knew Sweetie belle could sing but this is just amazing!" Scootaloo said in awe as she climbed into the club house, followed by Applebloom.
Sweetie belle was standing on top of a table holding the microphone in front of her mouth with her magic, singing like she had never sung in all her life as a filly.
Applebloom and Scootaloo watched and listened in awe as the night of singing went on.
Sweetie belle had never felt so alive. She knew that this was her talent. And she loved it.
"Wow that was amazing Sweetie belle!" Applebloom screamed with excitement as she jumped up and down.
Scootaloo had become teary eyed due to Sweetie's magnificent voice.
"Are you crying? I guess you not a chicken anymore, but instead a big baby!" Sweetie belle said as she laughed and rolled on the hardwood floor.
"Oh shut up. I'm not crying, I just got something in my eye" Scootaloo said with a smile, rubbing the tears from her eyes.
"Well ya know it's really late now, so why don't y'all sleep over." Said Applebloom.
"Sorry but I can’t. I was supposed to help Rarity pose for a new filly manikin so she could make clothes for fillies. And plus she’s probably worried sick about me being out so late, so I better hurry home." Said Sweetie belle as she made her way towards the door of the club house.
"Okay well see you tomorrow!" Said Applebloom.
"Yeah Catch ya later Sweetie belle."
The next morning Sweetie belle felt very happy and excited for some reason. Like she was a new filly and could accomplish anything.
"Good morning Rarity. How’s the new dress going?" Asked Sweetie belle with cheerful voice, and a confident smile on her face.
"It’s not quiet done yet, and I still haven't finished that manikin yet. Could you come here for a moment?” Said Rarity in a frantic tone. “I just need to make a few more adjustments.” Rarity whispered to herself as she used her magic to tamper with the manikin.
"And now for the fla...fla...fla...." Rarity Stuttered.
"What’s wrong Rarity?"
Rarity said nothing for she just had to show her for herself.
Rarity used the magic of her horn to lift a large mirror, and placed it beside Sweetie belle.
"My little Sweetie belle has finally grown up." Said Rarity with tears of joy running down her face.
"I...I don't believe it." Said Sweetie belle in a faint whisper as she looked at her reflection.
Sweetie belle’s jaw dropped and she became completely silent dew to the shock at what she saw before her.
Then she broke the silence with a loud and overjoyed scream.
"I GOT MY CUTIEMARK!!!"
It was a bright pink microphone with a white head, and music notes around it.
“I have to tell the Crusaders quick!” Sweetie belle said to herself as she galloped out of her sister’s boutique, and towards the Cutiemark Crusaders club house.
Quickly approaching the house, Sweetie belle used her magic to fling the door open.
Apparently Scootaloo and Applebloom were playing cards.
“Oh hey Sweetie belle.” Said Scootaloo not trying to break her concentration.
“Ya hey thar Sweetie belle.” Added Applebloom, doing the same.
“Forget about the cards!” Said Sweetie belle with a smile as she used her magic to take them from their hooves and fling them in the air. “Feast your eyes on this!” She said waving her flank in front of Applebloom and Scootaloo.
They were both completely speechless. For what they saw before them, simply blew them away.
“Is…is that really your?” Scootaloo stopped in mid-sentence for she could not believe her eyes.
“You got yer Cutiemark!” Screamed Applebloom as she raced towards Sweetiebell, grabbed her hooves and twirled her around.
“THIS IS AMAZING. We-we gotta let everypony know about this. Let’s go into town and tell everypony.” Said Scootaloo stuttering from her excitement.
The Cutiemark crusaders were quick to leave and tell everypony. They made their way into town to show off Sweeties new found talent.
As they arrived, they realized that everypony had not noticed Sweetie belle’s cutie mark. She was indeed a filly after all. She and her friends were barely visible when in a large crowd due to their small size.
“We gotta find a way so that everypony can see yer cutiemark!” Exclaimed Applebloom.
“Yeah we should go looking for an empty space for you to sing.” Added Scootaloo.
As Scootaloo said that, Sweetie belle noticed a large empty space on the stage in town square.
“That’s perfect!” She shouted as she made her way towards the stage, her friends quickly followed.
As Sweetie belle stood on stage, very few other ponies stopped to see what she was going to perform. Then, she began to sing.
Almost instantly, the small stage was surrounded by the towns ponies.
Her friends, her family, even small woodland creatures of all sorts came to listen.
It was simply incredible. Sweetie belle thought as everypony in Ponyville came to see her and only her.
Nothing could make this day anymore perfect. Sweetie belle whispered to herself as she finished her song. But she wasn’t ready to quit just yet, she still had allot of singing left in her, and she didn’t plan on stopping after just one song.
For hours Sweetie belle sung to the small crowd of ponies that she had already been familiar with. As Celestia’s sun set, and Luna’s moon began rising Sweetie belle had decided to end her performance.
“It’s getting dark. I should end it with this last song.” Sweetie belle thought as she concluded with the Cutiemark Crusaders theme song.
Weeks passed, and with every week Sweetie belle never stopped singing.
She had started performing in school plays, and in important gatherings in the town square. She was becoming famous in Ponyville, and soon in Canterlot as well.
In what seemed like weeks, shortly became months. Sweetiebell had signed several record deals, and was now performing in Canterlot!
She was slowly becoming a singing sensation. Performing more frequently outside of Ponyville.
She still came to visit her friends and family, but only for a short amount of time. Even visiting her close friends became more and more brief.
And one day she stopped visiting all together.
After giving it some thought after being on tour for two years in Canterlot, Sweetie belle came to see her friends, Applebloom, and Scootaloo back in Ponyville.
Things were exactly how they were when she left. The same ponies, the same buildings, and the same atmosphere.
“Boring.” Sweetie belle thought to herself. As she made her way down Sugarcube corner.
Sweetie belle wasn’t interested in anything but her friends at the moment. So she spent most of her time looking for them. But with no luck.
For some reason she couldn’t find out where the most important ponies in the whole world to her were.
“Maybe there at that club house we used to hang out at.” Sweetie belle said with a smile.
But even though she remembered everything about Ponyville like it was yesterday, she couldn’t remember where the club house was. Neither could she remember what they were called.
“Damn! Where the hell is that place? What were we called again?” Sweetie belle cursed as she lifted up her sunglasses from her eyes and scratched her chin.
Little did she know, Sweetie belle had become a snooty stuck up rich mare, who was now used to everypony pampering her and doing anything she wanted.
Sweetie made her way towards Twilights house, figuring that she might know where they might be.
“I wonder if Twilight even still lives here? I haven’t bothered visiting, or sending any letters to anypony in Ponyville. Who knows she might even be dead.” Sweetie belle said to herself as she approached the front door to the library.
“Yo Twi, you there?” Said Sweetiebell knocking at the library door.
“And who might this be?” Said a voice that was instantly recognized by Sweetie belle.
“Twilights voice hadn’t changed a bit.” Thought Sweetie belle before she answered.
“It’s me, Sweetie belle….Rarities little sister.” She said with a slight attitude.
Suddenly the library door began glowing purple and it swung open, and a purple mare quickly stepped out from it.
“Twilight you haven’t changed a bit.” Said sweetie belle with a bored tone.
Suddenly Twilight lunged at Sweetie belle and gave her a warm loving hug.
“It’s great to see you again Sweetiebell.” Said twilight in a calm voice.
“HEY GET OFF ME!” Sweetie shouted, Pushing Twilight from her.
“You’ll mess up my mane.” Sweetie said as she fluffed her mane.
Twilight looked at Sweetiebell and frowned. But then she began to giggle as she came to realize something.
“He-he, you’re becoming more and more like your sister just as I predicted you would be. Giggled Twilight.
“Yeah whatever, just tell me if you know where I can find Applebloom, and Scootaloo.” Said Sweetie belle, clearly not amused by Twilights humor.
Twilights ears dropped, and she quickly stopped giggling.
“Uh I’m not sure where they are. Maybe you should ask Rarity, she might know where they are.” Said Twilight quietly.
“Ugh! So useless!” Said Sweetie belle with a grunt as she turned her back to Twilight, whipped her tail in the air, and trotted out the door with her head held high.
Sweetie belle knew exactly where she was going. Rarity was her sister after all, and she had been making most of her dress for her performances.
“Rarity you here!?” Shouted Sweetie belle as she approached the front door to her sisters boutique.
Rarity was quick to open the door for she knew who it was.
“Oh Sweetie belle I missed you so much!” Said Rarity as she hugged her sister, a single tear slowly running down her face.
Sweetie belle wanted to push her away as she did with Twilight, but what kind of sister would she be if she had done that.
“Uh yeah, I missed you to.” Sweetie belle said as if she were disgusted by her sister.
“Oh dear sister come here quickly. What do you think of the new dress I’m making for you, I have spent weeks on it non-stop!” Rarity said with a forced smile trying to make her sister happy.
Sweetie belle took a gander at the dress that was on a manikin.
The dress was of the color thistle, with glitter that looked like stars in the night sky, and strips of pink ribbon dangled across each ankle. And to top it all off, slung around the waist of the dress was a single large pink bow with strips of yellow ribbon that came along the edges.
“So what do you think?” Asked Rarity with a worried smile.
Sweetie belle was silent for a moment, then she answered.
“This piece of crap is supposed to be my dress for the up-coming concert?” Said Sweetie belle with a confused look.
Rarity stood there, as still as any stone, gem, or emerald that she had ever found.
For a few moments all was silent. Until Rarity’s eyes began to well up.
“Wha-what do you mean Sweetie belle? Is-isn’t simple marvelous.” Rarity said with a nervous smile.
Sweetie belle looked at her older sister, then the dress, then back at her sister. Like she was observing them both, looking deep into the hard work and effort her sister put into the dress itself.
“I mean it looks horrible!” Sweetie belle said looking angrily at her sister, snatching her glasses off her face.
Rarity only stood there in shock of what she just heard.
“The colors aren’t bright enough, it doesn’t suit me at all, and it’s just too plane and boring!” Sweetie belle said stomping her way towards her sister.
With each stomp that Sweetie belle did slowly closing in on her. Rarity slowly coward back.
“W-what happened to you Sweetie belle, what did y-you do to my sister.” Rarity said, her voice cracking with every word that came out her lips.
“What happened to me? What happened to you!?” Sweetie said. A look of pure anger on her face.
“You used to be the greatest fashion designer in all of Ponyville. But now you’re just useless, just like Twilight!” Shouted Sweetie belle as she stomped out of Rarity’s boutique, and using her magic to slam the door behind her. Rarity still inside sobbing.
“Maybe Applejack can help. Applebloom is her older sister after all.” Sweetie belle thought to herself as she made her way towards Sweet Apple Acers.
As Sweetie belle came to the barn doors she raised a hoof to knock on them, but was interrupted.
“Hay thar sugarcube, it’s good to see y’all again.”
Sweetie belle knew that thick country accent. How could she ever forget.
“Hello Applejack.” Sweetie said with a sigh.
“So how’s yer evenin goin?”
“Listen Applejack, I’m only here to make small talk. Let me just ask you one thing and I’ll be on my way.”
“Uh sure thing sugarcube. So what is it that y’all is need’n to know?” Asked Applejack, raising a brow.
“Might you know where my friends Scootaloo and Applebloom are?” Sweetie asked in a formal voice.
Apple jack scratched her chin and look up in the air for a moment trying to find an answer to Sweeties question. Suddenly she looked at her with a big smile as if a light bulb turned on in her head.
“Well them two are off at the Cutiemark Crusaders club house of course!” Applejack said with a smile.
“Um sorry but I kind of forgot where that is.” Sweetie belle said, Scratching the back of her head.
“Well don’t y’all worry yer little head now, let o’l Applejack show y’all the way.” Said Applejack scuffling Sweeties mane.
Applejack lead the way to the club house talking nonstop about how she hears about Sweetie belle and her progression. Sweetie belle clearly wasn’t enjoying their little trip.
“Ugh! I don’t know how much more of this I can take. She’s starting to sound like that crazy Pinkie pie.” Sweetie belle thought to herself as she rolled her eyes in annoyance.
After what seemed like an eternity, her little adventure with Applejack came to an end.
“Hay Crusaders! Y’all got a visitor who might wanna talk with ya. Applejack said, capturing the attention of somepony who had been inside the small house in a tree.
“I remember this place.” Sweetie bell whispered to herself. And a small smile on her face.
“Tell em to come up here. I’m busy and can’t come down right now!” Shouted a slightly unrecognizable voice.
“feelin to chicken to come down and talk huh. It seems like your still the same chicken as before. Right……Scootaloo?” Sweetie belle said, teasing the pony in the tree house.
“Is that who I think it is?” Said Scootaloo.
“In the fur.” Sweetie belle responded.
“Sweetie belle!” shouted Scootaloo as she popped her head out of the window of the house.
Scootaloo raced out and hugged her.
“I missed you so much.” Sweetie belle said in her normal voice. Crying tears of joy as she took advantage of the hug witch seemed to last an eternity.
“Well I’ll be goin I got allot’a apple buckin to do. Y’all girls have yer fun now. Please stay as long as you’d like sugarcube.” Applejack said.
“Well what are we waiting for let’s go inside and talk.” Said Scootaloo.
Sweetiebell wondered what could possibly be so interesting about the old club. It has been two years after all. They should have outgrown it by now.
“Yep just as I expected.” Said Sweetie belle as she entered the house.
Nothing had been changed since she left, but for some reason it gave Sweetie belle a heart-warming feeling, just from standing inside.
“This brings back some good memories.” Sweetie belle said as she used her magic to lift up a small picture frame the sat on the shelf.
Inside was a picture of the Cutiemark Crusaders toppled over in a pony pile. Applebloom, and Sweetiebell lay flat on their stomachs. And Scootaloo lay on top of them like a small filly pyramid. All their faces had a great smiles stretched from ear to ear. They all looked….happy.
Then Sweetie belle suddenly realized something. Where was Applebloom? She thought to herself, slowly placing the picture on the shelf.
Before Sweetie belle could ask any questions Scootaloo had to tell her something.
“Hey Sweetie belle? I wanna congratulate you again on getting your cutiemark, and becoming a singer.” Said Scootaloo.
“sadly I haven’t got mine yet. I guess I’m a late bloomer. A really late bloomer.” Said Scootaloo staring at the ground.
“So you and Applebloom are still the remaining Crusaders huh?” Asked Sweetie bell clearly knowing the answer to her question.
“Yeah but at least we still have each other right?” Scootaloo said trying to change the subject.
“Yeah. So where is Applebloom anyway?” Sweetie asked.
“Oh she’s helping Granny Smith with some zap apples, she should be back anytime now!” Said Scootaloo with a grin.
So how is she doing?” Sweetie bell asked.
“Well….” Scootaloo paused for a moment. “Well ever since you stopped coming to visit, you started sending letters. But then you stopped doing that to, and well ever since the she hasn’t been the same.” Said Scootaloo, the look of pure sadness filled her eyes. “She would sit at her mailbox for hours every Thursday waiting for your next letter from you about your career. But after a few months you stopped sending to us. I stopped bothering to check my mail, but Applebloom on the other hand, didn’t.” Tears welled in her eyes. “Even months after you stopped sending, she would still wait at her mailbox for hours just waiting there. She looked horrible, she was breaking down from emotional pain, and I couldn’t stand looking at her like that.” Scootaloo was then clearly crying. “No matter what the weather was, rainy, windy, snow, she even sat out there during a tornado! She is now corrupt because of you! Scootaloo said Slightly raising her voice.
“Don’t raise your voice at me Scootaloo.” Sweetie belle said as she took a few steps towards her.
Scootaloo did not feel threatened. She had also began closing in on Sweetie belle.
“What happened to you?” Said Scootaloo as she slumped to the ground and began to cry.
Suddenly another voice had appeared in the club house.
“Hay Scootaloo I’m.” The pony had paused for a moment. Then leapt out at Sweetie belle shoving her away from Scootaloo.
Her mane covering her eyes, but it was clear to Sweetie belle who it was.
“Applebloom?” Asked Sweetiebell in a whisper. Then she asked again but louder.
“Applebloom is that you? It’s me Sweetie be.”
Suddenly Applebloom shouted. “I know exactly who you are!” As Applebloom shouted she quickly raised her head, revealing her face.
Her mane and coat had become a darker shade of her usual bright yellow and red colors. The bow on her head was dirty, and torn, like she had been attacked by timberwolves. Her eyes were blood shot, bags of red and purple sagged beneath them, and she had a look of pure hate in them.
“Dear Celestia what happened to you?! You look awful.” Said Sweetie belle backing away from her with a disgusted look.
“Oh so now you care about me, now that I’m like this?!”
Sweetie belle could not find the right words to say. Only thing she knew was that Applebloom was angry, and so was she.
“I waited for you! I sat in the rain for you! Hell I even sat out during a tornado just for you! But you didn’t come. And it’s not like I didn’t try to contact you, I wrote to you every day!”
Sweetie belle became angry and yelled back at her.
“Well the letters you sent were always boring! They always talked about how you and Scoot’s were being failures at finding your cutiemarks. And I couldn’t have you girls holding me back, so I stopped writing.”
“OH! So you were just way too busy to at least spend a little time with your friends!? What a bunch’a bull crap! Screamed Applebloom.
“Hey girls, let’s just put all this behind us okay? I mean Sweetie is here, she came to visit us isn’t that enough?” Scootaloo said with concern but was ignored.
“Yer not my friend! Not anymore.” Said Applebloom.
SMACK!
A large red mark flushed out on Applebloom’s left cheek.
“Do you think I would even consider being friends with you two!” Your both nothing to me, or to anypony else. You worthless BLANK FLANKS!!!”
It had become dead silent except for Sweeties words witch echoed throughout the room.
Then Applebloom broke the silence.
“Get out.” Applebloom said in a whisper as quiet as Fluttershy’s.
“What was that?” Sweetie belle asked in a snooty tone.
“I SAID GET OUT!!!” Screamed Applebloom, her face was drenched with tears, tears of pure hatred and anger. A face witch Sweetie belle would never forget.
“Please don’t do this!” Scootaloo pleaded.
“She didn’t mean it, can’t we just be friends like the good days. I miss those memories.” Said Scootaloo suddenly, hugging Applebloom, her tears matching hers.
“I don’t want to be friends with the likes of her, she destroyed my heart and now I don’t wanna single thing to do with her.” Said Applebloom.
“I hate you, both of you!” Screamed Sweetie belle as she ran outside of the house.
Heavy rain began stomping onto Sweeties coat and mane. Tears running down her face, clearly visible unable to hide itself from the streams of rain that came down her face. Leaving Ponyville to go back to Canterlot
This day she would regret for the rest of her life.
For the next few weeks Sweetie belle began to feel completely horrible for what she had done and said. So one day she decided to come back to Ponyville and apologize. Not only that, but to stay.
She had reverted back to the old Sweetie belle she used to be to try and win her friend’s friendship back.
“Hello is anypony here?!” Sweetie belle shouted as she trotted down Sugarcube corner. But nopony answered. She was only left with the faint sounds of the wind blowing.
Something was wrong!
Sweetie belle raced to Twilights library. Without knocking on the door, she used her magic to break it down. The library was empty, only lines of books stood silently on the bookshelves.
Twilight! Twilight you here!” Sweetie called out, but was unanswered.
Sweetie belle then began to panic as she searched every one of her old friends homes but not a single one was there.
Sweetie then went to the Cutiemark Crusaders club house. The place she planned on visiting in the beginning.
Sweetie belle gasped at what she had seen before her.
“Wha-what happened?” Sweetie asked herself. For what she saw put her in complete shock.
The Cutiemark Crusaders club house was nothing but a pile of broken wood and splinters. Everything that used to be inside was now completely destroyed.
Sweetie belle nudged some pieces of broken wood that only made things much, much worse!
On another large pile of broken wood, was a blood red color staining the brown wood witch stuck up into the air.
Sweetie belle galloped away from the now destroyed house as fast as her hooves could go. Tears began running down her face as she mumbled to herself.
“Please don’t let it be true, please don’t let it be true, please don’t let it be true.” Sweetie belle repeated to herself as she aimlessly galloped down Sweet Apple Acres.
“Where are you?” Sweetie said to herself as she slowly came to a stop.
Suddenly she heard the faint sound of a musical instrument.
“A cello?” She said to herself as she made her way towards the source of the sound.
A very sad song was being played in the center of the apple farm. Everypony in Ponyville were dressed in black and most of them were crying.
“A funeral.” Sweetie belle said to herself as she made her way towards it.
Sweetie belle had finally come to the center of the apple farm to see who’s funeral it was, hoping it wasn’t who she thought it was.
Not only was it one grave but two. Sweetie belle know who they belonged to, but didn’t want to believe it.
But then she saw it.
Laying against one tombstone was a picture of Scootaloo. And on the other, of Applebloom.
Suddenly jumping into the middle of the funeral Sweetiebell fell to her knees in front of the graves witch lay side by side.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so, so sorry.” Sweetie belle appalogized continuously. “Please, please forgive me!” Sobbed Sweetie belle.
The other ponies seemed to be non-existent, for Sweetie belle could only think to herself and cry.
“What have I done.”
Two more years went by since that happened, and sweetie belle was just becoming worse and worse. She had lost her drive to sing anymore, and she soon lost her job. She began spending her money on worthless things, trying to make up for her now lost friends. She moved back in with her sister in Ponyville, but rarely came out. Rarity would usually bring her food, and she would come out to use the bathroom and shower, but other than that she lost the will to do anything. Over time she even lost the will to live.
One lonesome night, Sweetie belle managed to sneak out of her sister boutique without waking her. With the intent on killing herself
She aimlessly trotted along Ponyville with no exact destination on where to do it.
Suddenly she got an idea.
“I should die where they died, it should have been me not them.” Sweetie belle whispered to herself.
Approaching the exact spot where her friends had died. The same pile of broken sharp pieces of wood.
Staring at the pile Sweetie belle thought to herself. “Might as well make one last thing look nice for my friends, it’s what they would have wanted.” Sweetie belle said to herself as her horn glowed a bright magenta.
The pieces of broken wood slowly began to re-assemble. Not only broken wood, but everything else witch had been destroyed by the collapsed house.
The Cutiemark Crusaders club house was completely rebuilt.
Using Sweeties rejuvenation magic she was able to completely rebuild the house to its former glory.
Sweetie belle had slowly made her way into the dark home only to see everything exactly the same as it was before their passing. Only a few things were missing, but those were the things that Applejack took back to the farm, for memories.
“This seems like a good spot.” Sweetie belle whispered to herself as she sat in the center of the room, pulling a small razor from her mane with her magic.
“I’ll be with you girls, very soon.” Sweetie belle said as she slowly eased the blade to her wrist.
Suddenly, a reflection behind her was shown in the blade that caught her attention.
She looked back to see what the reflection was. As she looked, tears began to well in her eyes.
It was the picture of herself and her friends in a pony pile. Huge smiles shot across each of their faces.
Sweeties sorrow began to over whelm as she stared closer and closer at the picture, seeping deeper, and deeper into her memories.
Sweetie belle began to sing. “We are t-the Cutie-mark…Crusaders.” Sweetie belle had stopped singing suddenly, fell to her knees and wept.
Sweetie belle had soon cried herself to sleep.
“Wake up Sweetie belle.” Said a fuzzy voice that was somewhat recognizable.
“Ya we, been waitin fer ya.” Said another with a country accent witch also sounded familiar.
Sweetie belle had slowly raised her head and wiped her eyes to get her vision clear.
“Applebloom? Scootaloo? Is that you?” Said Sweetie belle as she rose up, her vision still blurry, but the figures before her were clearly who she wanted them to be.
“Well duh! Who else would it be.” “Yeah don’t tell us you done already forgot about us. Both ponies said in a teasing tone.
“Oh girls I’m so sorry!” Sweetie belle said as she lunged out and hugged both of them. Tears drenching her face, for she could not stop even if she tried.
“Woah, woah what’s with the water works.” Giggled Scootaloo.
“Yeah jus cuz we aint around don’t mean we aint with ya.” Added Applebloom.
Both ponies waited for a response, but only got continuous apologize from Sweetie belle.
“Oh please don’t cry Sweetie belle, you didn’t do anything wrong.” Said Scootaloo as she gently brushed her face against Sweeties, crying with her.
“Ya, if anypony should be apologizing, it should be me.” Said Applebloom slumping her head down. “I shouldn’a yelled at ya back then.” Applebloom also brushed her face against Sweeties, and wept.
Braking the embrace, Applebloom looked into Sweetie belles eyes.
“Hey Sweetie belle? Let’s sing one last song, to make sure that were not only the Cutiemark Crusaders, but best friends forever.”
“Yeah let’s do that!!!” Scootaloo said with excitement.
Sweetie belle said nothing. She only wiped the tears from her eyes, and smiled like she hadn’t in a very long time.
“How about you start us off Sweetie belle? For o’l times sake. Asked Applebloom.
“Sweetie belle only nodded, then she began to sing.
After the song was over, they giggled and laughed together like the old days. This made Sweetie belle more happy than she ever had in her life, but she knew it wouldn’t last forever.
“What’s eatin ya Sweetie belle?” Asked Scootaloo as she notice something was up with Sweetie belle.
Sweetie belle looked up at Scootaloo and Applebloom. Then she spoke.
“This won’t last forever…..will it? Asked Sweetie belle.
Applebloom and Scootaloo only looked at each other and frowned.
“Well no but, you still have us in your heart Sweetie belle. We will always be with you Sweetie belle, no matter what.” Said Scootaloo with a smile.
“Through thick and thin!” Added Applebloom.
“Before we go, we wanna to ask ya one more thing.” Said Applebloom.
“Yeah it’s very important and we can only tell you this once before we go, so listen closely okay.” Said Scootaloo with a serious look, but still smiling.
“Can you be happy for us?” Asked Scootaloo
“It makes us happy when yer happy.” Added Applebloom.
“Don’t give up on singing, don’t give up on anything. Continue to be happy and live your life.” Said Applebloom
“And with that voice of yours I’m sure you won’t have a problem with that. But when you do sing, remember… were always listening, even if where not physically there.” Said Scootaloo.
“Don’t forget that okay?” Scootaloo said, lightly punching Sweetie belles shoulder.
“Please don’t ever forget, for us.” Said Applebloom patting her on the head.
Before she knew it, she had awoken inside the Cutiemark Crusaders club house.
“Was it all just a dream?” Sweetie belle asked herself as she got up.
It didn’t matter, as long as she was happy, and they were happy.
Sweetie belle had looked down on the floor, and noticed that same picture of her Applebloom and Scootaloo. Picked it up with her magic, then spoke aloud.
“You girls told me to never forget. I will…..never forget.
