Alpha, the rebel, but also hero

*I am the undercover rebel spy, placed in Civil protection,*

I AM, Alpha

And This, Is My Story

It was another day in the remains of city 17 after the uprising, I was finally identified as a spy sent from the rebels, here is what happened

I woke up to the light of an interrogation room, with two overwatch troops next to me, and I saw him come in

‘Barney Calhoun, nice to see him again’

Then, what was expected happened; he pulled his shotty, shot one of the overwatch troops in the skull, and bashed the other in the face, then proceeded to blast the locks off with said shotgun

“Nice of you to finally come and get me Cal.” I said, as I got up from the table.

“Hey! I told you to stop calling me that!” he said, as he grabbed me one of the 357. Magnums and a pulse rifle

“You should know by now that, much like the combine, I don’t change or give up” I said, loading both weapons.

We then proceeded to head upstairs, and I got on one of the control panels, and searched it up, then turned to Barney and asked

“Has Freeman gotten back yet?”

To which Barney replied

“No, been a week too, watch out for those gunships, they have been scouting the entire city for something”

“More like someone; look” I said, as I pointed towards the two figures headed for the meeting spot

So, me and Barney made our way through the rebels underground tunnel network, and came out at the meeting area, where Alyx, Gordon, and Many other rebels were waiting, and I turned to Alyx

“So, what’s the plan?” I asked her, as we all got our ammo and weapons ready.

“We will storm the citadel gate from two paths, southeast, and southwest, and we will use whatever method possible to get inside, and shut off the three generators powering the main entrance into the Stairwell up to the roof.” She said, getting her gun fully loaded

“What about their air forces?” I asked, remembering the many gunships and transports they have, along with the now less-used helicopters.

“That’s where you come in” she said, and at that point, I was genuinely confused

“Well, I'm guessing by that you mean he is in control of the attack on the helicopter airbase, south of here, right?” somebody asked, probably Matthew too.

To which Alyx, who was talking to a few other rebels, said

“Exactly, so Alpha with your clearance, you can get in, but the flying, you have to learn”

“Cool, I haven’t flown anything since before the war, this’ll be fun…I hope” I said, as me and my team of specially trained rebels readied our guns and got into our combine armor.

So after that, we wished each other luck on our two missions, and my team departed with me, acting like a normal combine patrol outside the helicopter depot, But once we were all surrounding the depot, I shot the flares up, and we all charged in, blasting anything in a combine suit without the Rebel symbol on it.

After we secured the depot, I ran up to the fuel area, and checked the heli’s, and found that they were fully fueled and fully armed, and laughed to myself

“This will be FUN!”

So I got in, as did another rebel, and after the all clears, I looked over the controls, and from my flight training before the combine came, I remembered the basics and little more advanced stuff, so I brought her up into the air, and did a little fly-round the depot, and I looked to the others and told them through the radio,

“All set up here, you guys get yours, I'm going to help out the attack on the citadel.”

So, I flew off, and saw the carnage at the citadel, we took the gates and main ground entrance, but with 3 striders, and many troops attacking, so I did what I think anyone else would do in my position, I blasted my pulse cannons at them

“EAT PULSE COMBINE SCUM!” I yelled while blasting the combine troops and the striders, which were being pummeled by rockets from our rebel troops.

That’s when I saw the citadel go on full alert, and thought,

“Must be Gordon and Alyx’s team, they got in, I should provide helicopter support for them”

So I flew up above the citadel’s top, and saw Gordon and Alyx in cover, being suppressed by a gunship and some combine overwatch and overwatch elite troops, so I did what I thought would help

I blasted rockets at the gunship, and blasted the troops with pulse guns

That’s when I was hit by a rocket, and started spinning, as Gordon started blasting the portal generator with Dark matter energy ball things, and I slammed into the generator as it exploded, and I saw white, black, then…..green?

“What the hell?” was all I thought before I blacked out.

After what seemed like an eternity of reviewing my life, and where I could be, I was finally able to feel again, kind of, I looked around to take in where I was at, and possible defense locations in case of combine attack, when I heard a soft voice

“A-Are you A-Awake?”

That’s when I turned my head the most I could, and saw her, and blacked out again

Once again, i woke up in that little cottage thing, and looked around, and saw a bunch of little animal houses, and thought

yup, nowhere near home

and i looked around, and asked,

" Hello? anyone home? im kinda stuck on this couch....wait...your not combine are you?"

to which that same voice in my dream said

"c-combine? who's that? they sound scary"

and i sat there, kind of dumbfounded, and i asked

"well, ill tell you, if you show me who and whee you are, as well as tell me where i am"

the voice, and its owner, emerged from behind the corner, and smiled meekly

then, acting like an idiot, i said

"holy pony its a shit...i must be dead"

and with that being said, i passed out once again,
