Soul Reaper Pony
Chapter 6: Discord
Previous ChapterNext ChapterChapter 6: Discord
Discord. That name always makes me shiver. Still can’t believe he was able to escape, although, it doesn’t surprise me. The shit that ancient Draconequus can do freaks me the fuck out. I mean, seriously, cotton candy clouds that rain chocolate milk? It’s not natural.
Anyway, I’m getting off topic. So, the day Discord decides to rear his ugly head was one of the days I wasn’t home. I was out in Stalliongrad, taking care of a Judchas. It was strong, and the battle lasted for a good two hours, but I managed to kill it, take it’s soul, and save all the ponies in Stalliongrad, with little collateral. At this point, my presence was but a rumour in Equestria. That didn’t stop the God of Chaos from knowing I was here.
“Why, hello there. I’m afraid I haven’t met you yet,” I heard in the air, and in my head. “Well, isn’t this interesting. Alive, yet dead. I wonder how long you will actually live.”
‘Crimson, there is this... thing in your soul. It looks awful, and he’s kind of a jackass. Oh, and he’s going through your lame excuse for memories.’ Once Reaper alerted me to the intruder, even though I didn’t know that it was possible (except for Pinkies case. Found her in there more than once), I stopped where I was and entered my “soul”
Now, my soul is a black place with nothing. I mean, nothing. What I found was indescribable. A strange serpentine creature was just floating around, like it owned the place. I reverted to my soul reaper body, and confronted him.
“Who, and what, the hell are you? And how in Celestia’s name did you get in here?” It was a strange creature indeed, but one I faintly remember seeing before. It had the head of a pony, right paw of a lion, left claw of an eagle, right leg of a goat, left leg and tail of a dragon, different colors. It also had two different horns, what looked to be a twisted unicorns horn and antlers. I recognized him almost as soon as I got a good look. “Discord!”
“Ah, yes, you actually recognized me. Well, that isn’t really surprising, considering you were only born 100 years after my demise. A time when Celestia was still in the works of trying to make sure her precious ponies didn’t know of my existence.” He looked at me at this point, with a glint of malice in his eyes. “You see, I am not here to play games with you though. I have a proposition for you.”
“I don’t give a damn about you proposition. How did you get in here, for the last time. And where the hell is Reaper?”
“Oh, that hooded figure that wanders around here? I have her on lockdown for now. I know what you two are capable of. And, although you can’t outright kill me, you can make my day very bad. And don’t interrupt me until I’m done talking.” I stood there, in shock. He contained Reaper? How? Was the only thought that crossed my mind before he continued.
“You see, I intend to take Equestria back from those insufferable sisters. I also know that they cannot use the Elements anymore, but I have to deal with the current wielders-
“If you so much as touch a HAIR on Twilight’s head, I WILL kill you. You forget, you have a SOUL, and if you’ve been sifting through my memories, you will find that NO soul is safe from Reaper and I,” I growled, yelling at certain points. He stopped, dead in his tracks, and looked at me, with genuine fear in his eyes. I had called him out from his bluff, and he knew he was in serious danger.
“Yes, I see,” he muttered, collecting himself. “Anywho, as I was saying, I have to deal with those six ponies. I won’t kill them!” he almost yelped as I glared at him. “I just intend to make them lose their spirit. Even now, I have corrupted Applejack, and will eventually move on to Pinkie Pie. This has nothing to do with my proposition, except that I will not kill anypony. No, what I need is for you to, if I win this little game, continue to protect Equestria. I will not hinder you in any way, nor do I intend to stop you. Those, ugh, Hollows, tend to be a claw full.” With that, he filled his claw with popcorn. “Want some?” I didn’t respond. “Oh, you’re no fun. That is the proposition. I will even return the girls to their original state once I hide the Elements for good, so I don’t have to worry about being turned to stone again. Do we have a deal?”
“No, and I think you overstayed your welcome. Oh, and if you think you contained Reaper, think again, you bastardized monster.” I held up my hand, and with a snap of my fingers, expelled the God from my realm.
I opened my eyes to see the so called God reeling from being forcibly removed from my soul. He was utterly shocked, and, once he gained his bearings, looked at me. He was horrified, and I intended to give him a reason to be.
“Destroy and Rebuild, Reaper!” I summoned her, and Discord, for what it was worth, screamed like a little filly. This was going to be fun. I lunged at the Draconequus, arcing my scythe from the upper right. Unfortunately, with a snap of his fingers, Discord produced a staff of some sort and blocked me. He is considerably stronger than I imagined. I will have to take a different approach. I finished my thought, only for him to throw me off, but that didn’t stop me. Using the momentum, I quickly rotated Reaper, and brought her around the lower left from behind my back. I heard another snap, and he vanished before I could land a hit.
“Now now, we don’t play with sharp objects. You are much too young,” he mocked me from behind, and before I could dodge, he hit me with one end of the staff. I had clearly underestimated him, but I intended not to make make the same mistake twice. I quickly moved in a flash away from him, making a quick one-eighty, sliding across the non-existent ground that I was standing on. For what it’s worth, I felt no pain from his strike (later, I learned that the damn staff was made of chocolate. Seriously, what the actual fuck).
“Look who is talking. You’re using a damned staff, to fight me, when I have an effective pole-arm. That is a little one sided, even if you can teleport.” A thought crossed my mind as I was speaking. I was wide open, and he didn’t attack me. It was confusing, but at least he left me with an option. His stance was poor, sagged and uninterested. He was also focusing on something else, due to the glazed look in his eyes. It looked as if he was fighting with pure instinct and adrenaline alone (if the draconequus had adrenaline glands at least). “What’s wrong? You should know that instinct alone can’t compete with a trained and seasoned killer.”
“Oh, I am quite aware of such a fact. The thing is, I have been multi-tasking this entire time. As we speak, I have finished breaking the spirits of the bearers, to include Twilight. When you get home, she will be nothing but-” He angered me to no end with what said, and I was on him in an instant. I interrupted him with a kick to the left side of the head, sending him rocketing down to the ground. Before he could even recover, I was below him in an instant, delivering another kick to the area between his mismatched wings. I heard an audible crack, and I knew that I had at least realigned his vertebrae. He stopped mid air, and I proceeded to grab his throat with my left hand.
“What did I tell you,” I growled. I stared into his eyes, and I saw pure terror. “I distinctly remember saying that if you so much as touch a precious HAIR on her head, that I was going to KILL YOU!” I was enraged, my vision going red. “You will not see another day in Equestria, EVER!” I threw him to the side, not even wanting to take his disgusting soul any longer, and promptly yelled, “Shakkaho!” An explosion rang out across the surrounding area, and I saw that I had blown off his head. Or, to be more precise, what I figured was his head. What I saw was shocking.
He had tricked me. He was never there in the first place, it seemed. All along, I was fighting a puppet of his own design. I watched as it was consumed by the red flames, and the ashes blew away in the wind.
*Oh, come on. Did you really believe that I would fight you myself? HA! What a riot!* He laughed at me, in my head. *Well, at least that distracted you long enough so you couldn’t save your precious marefriend and her lackeys. By now, I have taken control of Equestria, and made Ponyville it’s new capital! Anyway, I have chaos to wreck. Ta ta!”
I was confused. The guy was able to make the girls lose their motivation and made sure to distract me. I clearly underestimated him, but I feel that the fear in his eyes, although an act, was real. Either he didn’t know anything about me, or he had a soul, which made him vulnerable to Reaper. It didn’t make sense, but Reaper had a few words to say about it.
‘That damned freak thinks he can taunt us!? I want you to go show that hybrid motherfucker that we are not to be trifled with. I want his head on a platter!’ she literally screamed in my head. I already had a headache, and didn’t want it to evolve into a migraine.
‘Hey, stupid! I’m calling the shots.’ I scolded her. ‘Who’s the soul reaper in this relationship?’
‘You are…’ She then muttered, just enough so I could hear it, ‘Bastard. Can’t even kill a “God”’
“I heard that! Shut your mouth!” I didn’t mean to at the time, but I said it aloud. Unbeknownst to me immediately, a very familiar gray pegasus mailmare was flying by and spotted me. She flew over to me and yelled out my name. How she knew who I was at the time, I don’t know. But I noticed at that moment, and yelled out, “Shit!” before she tackled me, mid-air, and hugged me.
“Wow, Crimson, I didn’t know you could fly!” Exclaimed a very excited Derpy. “And you look really cool! Can you teach me how to do that?”
“Hey! I didn’t see you flying there Derpy. Unfortunately, I don’t know if you can look as “cool” as I do, but, I need you to keep this a secret, okay?” I explained to her. I didn’t get my hopes up though. She was a nice girl, and a good mailmare. Unfortunately, she seemed to forget everything else important when it didn’t come to her daughter, Dinky.
“Aww, ok. Why don’t you want anyone else to know? And why do you have a giant scythe?” she looked at me with a questioning look in her eyes.
“Well, I can’t have too many people knowing what I can do, ok? It’s my duty to protect all of Equestria from these special monsters that only I can make go away. Now, if you have anymore questions, you can ask me, in private, at home.” I really needed to get back to Ponyville, and I was worried. Also, the fact that Derpy, of all mares, found me out made me worried. I needed to be there for damage control.
Reluctantly, she let me go. I waved to her and turned around, making my escape to Ponyville, knowing that what had just transpired was going to bite me in the ass later. I didn’t care at the time though, that was future Crimson’s problem (hey, i adopted the phrase from Spike. He really seemed to like using it). I digress though. I heard Derpy flap her wings and fly off, probably in the middle of an important delivery, and continue on my course to Ponyville.
Luck was on my side as I didn’t meet any more pegasi on my way. I managed to make it to Ponyville within the hour, with the expenditure of most of my energy in the process (Look, I just fought a fairly powerful Judchas, Discord’s puppet, which took me off guard, and then made a two hour trip into an hour. I was fucking tired, and still intended to confront Discord. If anyone besides Reaper tells me I don’t have cojones of steel, they have another thing coming). I looked around the town and was shocked at what I saw. There were clouds made of cotton candy, raining chocolate milk of all things. The roads were tiled with pink and purple, and some of the buildings were floating, some of those upside down. It didn’t look good, let me tell you. I think I even saw a stallion being… handled by vines in some alleyway (it gave me some ideas for later, but with Twilight on the receiving end).
I saw the girls then, and ran over to them. At this point, I didn’t care what I looked like. I could always attribute it to Discord’s magic as soon as I entered town. Beforehand, everything seemed fairly calm outside of town limits. I noticed that they had the Elements, but a certain rainbow maned stunt pegasi was missing.
“Crimson! What are you doing here, looking like that?” Twilight asked me, looking at me with utter shock and horror. “Quick, before anyone sees you, hide!”
“Hey, calm down before you start to panic! Look, Discord is on the loose, and guess where we are right now.” Suddenly, it dawned on her. “Yeah, here we are in the center of the Chaos. Most ponies are panicking, and if they did notice, I could always lie and say that it’s an effect of his magic. Don’t worry, I’ve got this.” I didn’t mention the Derpy situation, so to keep her on track with whatever task she was carrying out. “Enough about me, what about you?”
“It’s bad. We all lost our motivation because of Discord’s words and magic. We all succumbed to it, and started doing things opposite of our Element,” she sighed, and continued, “even I fell for it, just as soon as I thought I had lost all my friends. Princess Celestia sent me all of my letters, giving me back the motivation to do what I needed to. That leads me to here, with all my friends, except Rainbow, back to normal.”
“I’ll tell you what I experienced later. For right now though, you need to get Rainbow Dash, and get out of here. I don’t intend to let this bastard live.” They all looked at me in shock. The concept of death by another’s hand was foreign to them, hell, almost all of Equestria. It isn’t all sugar and rainbows, ladies and gentlecolts!
“What! We don’t need to… take care of DIscord. We intend to imprison him in stone again. He doesn’t need to… you know, that.” Twilight was scared at what I proposed, and it showed in her eyes.
“Well, what if that doesn’t work?” I questioned her. As I asked the question, her friends were downcast, looking at the ground (in the sky in Pinkies case). They were thinking about what I had said, and the looks on their faces told me that they hadn’t thought of that. The fear in their eyes was apparent.
“Well, if it doesn’t work,” began Applejack, “what is it we can do? Ah don’t know ‘bout you girls, but Ah don’t want to be in a world full of Chaos.” Her words hit home, and the girls considered what I said again.
“Well, I don’t know… it could be better, if you think so” Fluttershy muttered.
“I am inclined to agree darling” Rarity seconded.
“But what about the cotton candy clouds that rain chocolate milk!” Exclaimed Pinkie Pie. Leave it to her to think about something that, although somewhat related, has nothing to do with the matter at hand.
“Yeah… anyway, if you would like to try this thing out, go for it. I’ll wait for half an hour, and if you girls haven’t encased Discord in stone, then-” I suddenly felt a presence. One I was hoping not to feel for a little while. Yet, it wasn’t normal, not by a long shot. “Celestia Dammit! Alright girls, you now have fifteen minutes to get your shit together. A hollow just appeared nearby, and I honestly have no fucking clue what kind it is. It’s strong though, and headed this way.”
Without another word, I left, leaving all the girls to go from confusion, to understanding, to pure terror. I didn’t even notice the little exclamation of disgust at how I handled the situation, but I did know that they got their happy ass flanks in motion once it all settled in.
I moved as fast as i could toward the unknown Hollow. From what I could tell, it was at least a Judchas, but other than that, it was a mystery to me. I never felt spiritual pressure like this before, and it was bothering me. I reached the zap apple orchard in Sweet Apple Acres, and that’s when I knew I was in deep shit.
I witnessed, for the first time in all of my time as a Soul Reaper, an Arrancar. I had heard of them before, but from what I knew, they were just, if not more so, rare than a Vasto class Menos. They just didn’t exist, for all I knew. And here, after only 3 months in Equestria, was a damned Arrancar, standing right in front of me. Arrancar are Hollows that tear their mask off of their face, in an effort to become stronger. This one had half the mask torn off at the bottom, with a single horn that was over his right eye. Another oddity was the placement of the signature Hollow hole, being more to the left then in the center. And finally, a mother fucking zanpakuto! I couldn’t believe it at first, but there it was, clear as day.
“Well, a Soul Reaper, here in this peaceful land, full of free food,” he said to me in a deep, raspy voice. It was really concerning that he was actually talking. Most Hollows forgo speech, and prefer their actions to do the talking. “I am going to have fun with you.” A strange, deep staticy sound and a minute later, he was behind me. Shit-
I felt him kick me, and a minute later, I found myself flying through the orchard, crashing through a few trees in the process (let it be known that each and every tree that was lost that day got a proper funeral). I suddenly came to a stop, with a spray of dirt. Damn, that thing can kick! I have to be more careful, otherwise I’m going to get my ass killed, and I can’t allow that to happen just yet. Unfortunately, I heard the strange sound again, and the mother fucking Arrancar was standing over me.
“I expected more of a fight. I can see you have your Shikai released, but what about your Bankai? I would like to see that.” I just stared at him, and contemplated what he said. I would really like to use my Bankai. Unfortunately, I haven’t obtained it yet. That’s a little discouraging. My thought process complete, I flashed away, high above the orchard. “We’re running now, eh,” he stated, obviously bored, “I expect more than a Soul Reaper that is afraid to fight-”
“Who said I was running?” Taking reaper, and spinning her in the air, I summoned a soul I knew could help out in this. “Revive, Reaper!” I slammed the bottom of the scythe on the imaginary ground that I stood upon, and with a flash of light, the Hollow I first killed in Equestria was summoned, and successfully (summoning didn’t always work, for every successful summon, there were three unsuccessful summons).
“Oh? This is interesting. You summoned a faux Hollow. I fail to see how that will help you though, seeing as it more than likely is as strong as you are.” That fuckin’ noise really gets to me, and, obviously, the Arrancar was in front of the Judchas. He was in for a surprise.
“Eliminate the Arrancar, with extreme prejudice!” With my command, the Judchas sprang to life, and punched the Arrancar, sending it flying.
“Wha-?” The Judchas was already on him, and beating the shit out of him. It was entertaining, but I had to intervene eventually. I’ll just wait until I feel comfortable with fighting the Arrancar to intervene though. It was too strong for me currently.
“You underestimate me,” I began, “I don’t create faux Hollow, I kill them with my blade and it’s abilities, excluding what I’m using now, and store their souls for later use. I create a body for them, and put their soul into the body, to fight for me.” Now that I think about it, I could probably use them for training too! Why didn’t I think of that before?
‘Because you're a dumbass.’ Quipped Reaper
‘I don’t need your shit right now. I’m in the middle of something.’ I looked again at the Arrancar, and notice that he’s probably had enough. With a flick of Reaper, the Judchas disappears. I appeared in front of the now beaten and broken Arrancar. His horn was broken off right next to the mask, and he had a few cuts along his arms. Blood trailed out of the left side of his mouth.
“DIdn’t your mother ever teach you not to underestimate your enemies?” I grabbed him by the throat, and held him up above me, looking at him. He looked at me with complete malice in his eyes, but he did nothing. “Now, in my time here, I have killed 207 Gillians, 23 Judchas, and countless normal Hollow at varying levels of power. None have stood before me, and lived. I had issues with the Judchas, but releasing Reaper usually fixed it. Now, you, I would classify as a low level Vasto if I didn’t know you were an Arrancar. That, and I could tell you were a Judchas before I got here, but I digress.” With that, I threw him to the ground, and watched as he recovered mid-air.
Our battle continued, but now on an equal level. It was a battle to last the ages. I would attack, he would dodge right or left, and counter. It lasted for a good half-hour, sometime in there I noticed that the Chaos disappeared, but I really didn’t care. I had something to kill, and I was having fun!
Of course, it had to end eventually, and during that time, Reaper recovered enough energy to finish it. I was ready to claim this soul, and use it for later use. I had just dodged, ducking below a swipe of his arm, and moved out of his range. I had one shot, and this was the time.
“Soul Slicer!” With those words, it was over. When I looked, I saw that I had cut him diagonally through the left shoulder. He was absolutely shocked, and I heard him muttering something under his breath. “What?” I questioned him.
“I never… got to… use… my resurreccion…” his final words spoken, his body started to dissipate, and I felt his soul enter Reaper. I was confused at what he said. What is a Resurreccion? I may have to summon him again so he can explain. Right now, though, I *really** need a fucking break. I’m at my limit*. Sealing Reaper and reverting to my pony body, I made my way to Ponyville, which was normal again.
I entered Ponyville, and walked around until I found the girls, who were all talking to… Dammit, I forgot about *Derpy!*** I rushed over before she said anything to the girls about what she saw, but as soon as I saw the glare Twilight gave me, I immediately turned around and ran in the other direction. I knew that we would have great angry sex later, but she was going to punish me too. I ended up having blue balls for a week. And everypony knew what was up. So, all-in-all, that was the worst day of my life!
