Ever since the academy incident, the life of Lightning Dust has taken a turn for the worst. She can barely make ends meet, she has the worst waitress job in the world, and she lives in the crime-ridden Los Pegasus. To her, one mare is responsible for all this: Rainbow Dash. One night, she goes to the First Faustian to pray for a way to be able to put Dash in her place for ruining her life. Her wish is soon granted when an alien symbiote crash-lands in a meteor near the church. When the deal is made, Lightning Dust becomes Venom, Lethal Protector of Los Pegasus. But, she actually plans to use the publicity to lure Rainbow Dash and her friends out so she can kill her. Meanwhile, a sinister foe plots to learn the secrets of Venom's powers and use them to his advantage, forcing Venom to choose: Pursue her vengeance, or protect the ponies of Los Pegasus by any means necessary.
