Her cello laid next to her bed, covered ever so perfectly in a blanket matching with hers. It seemed as if everything was calm, still and quiet, the way a Tuesday morning should be. She adjusted her pillow and pulled the covers over her head, smiling whilst her eyes were closed. She thought she heard some footsteps, but she ignored it, not wanting to ruin a moment of her peace. But she was wrong, as she was awoken by a thumping bass speaker, dishes falling on the ground, and a giggling Vinyl. She fell out of her bed, still holding onto her pillow. She wasn't scared, and she most certainly wasn't surprised. This happens every morning, acting as Vinyl's daily dose of amusement. She simply got up, put her pillow down, ran a comb through her mane and tail and started the long journey downstairs to greet her rather obnoxious roommate. As soon as Vinyl caught a glimpse of Octavia's grouchy face, she started laughing immediately. "Aww, come on Octie. Lighten up some!" She said, giggles between her words. Octavia mumbled to herself, sitting herself down in a chair. Vinyl settled herself down across from her and was able to speak normally again after a series of gasps from laughing. "So, isn't today your big concert with your big guitar with your big string plucker thing?" Vinyl asked, spotting the calendar on the wall behind her while holding her laughs back to hear her reaction. Octavia shook her head. "For the last time, Vinyl, it's called a cello. Not a big guitar thing with a big string plucker thing." Vinyl giggled at the sound of her repeating her words. "Yes," Octavia continued, "Today's my big performance at the Canterlot Concert Hall of Newly Found Musicians." She quirked, perking up a bit at how professional that sounded. "I reserved a spot for you, front row center." Vinyl smiled at Octavia, noticing how her eyes glistened with admiration and perturbation. She was gazing at her, not realizing it. "Why... are you looking at me like that?", Octavia asked, after a few seconds, a bit embarrassed. Vinyl stopped dazing at her almost instantly, her cheeks flashing a color of pink. "Oh! Sorry, uh. What do you want for breakfast?" She asked, steering their conversation to a new subject. "Nothing!" Octavia blurted out, her eyes widening. "Do you want me to look bloated in front of all of those ponies?" Vinyl giggled. "Goodness, we've been friends for almost 9 years now! You should know this!" Vinyl looked at her, drenched in amusement. A 10 second silence overcame them. Vinyl blinked, smiling. Octavia sighed, blushed and hung her head. "..A coffee," Octavia whispered as Vinyl interrupted, "Apieceoftoastwithjamandbutter, andanapple.", Vinyl said confidently, giggling. Octavia looked up at her grinning roomate, returning her smile. She stood up and gave Vinyl another brief smile before walking out of the kitchen. Vinyl looked in awe, captivated by how beautiful she really was. She counted every footstep she took before she walked out of the room, the faint aroma of her perfume from the day before catching her nose. Vinyl grinned to herself as she got up and walked towards the fridge, in search of an apple. Calming cello music slowly filled the small apartment complex from upstairs. Vinyl started to smile, as she eyed her huge set of speakers. She walked towards them, trying to contain her giggles. She waited a minute and flipped the switch, adrenaline running through her veins. Instantly, an obstreperous techno song blurted through the speakers causing a mini earthquake to flow through the small home. "VINYL!" Octavia yelled in a strong accent, her face a boiling crimson. Crashes and yells and sour notes were heard from her bedroom, but Vinyl was laughing too hard to notice Octavia's shrieking complaints.
