Thunderlane lay in bed silently, above the covers, staring up at the ceiling. He looked at the clock next to his bed.

Why was she so late? What was taking her so long? She should have been here a half an hour ago.
He rolled over onto his side, looking out the window of his second story attic room and sighed. he hated waiting. He felt bad for not helping the tornado duty, but at the same time he knew the others could get it done easily, as long as no one other than him played hooky.
