Study, Study, Study.......Study.
It's funny how some ponies devote their life to studying. Twilight Sparkle was one of them.
"Twilight, it's already midnight. You can just study tomorrow, right?" Spike, her assistant, grumbled. The glowing light on her thick purple horn weaseled into his eyes. "Besides, there's a ducking table downstairs. Dragons need lots of rest, in case you didn't know." He covered both scaly ears with the fluffy casing of his cushion. Now, don't get him wrong, he loves his mistress' company. But sometimes it really was too much.
The lavender unicorn glanced at him with condescending eyes. "You're a good-hearted dragon, Spike. But shouldn't you be napping in the other room? This is mine." She snarled at the last few words. Being deprived of sleep had really got into her. Not that she noticed, of course.
"Um...Twilight? There's no other room besides the foyer and here," Spike pointed out. The dragon very seldom heard that that type of voice she spoke in, at least directed towards him, hence he was cowering ever so slightly. His mistress paid no heed to him, instead concentrating on her book again. "Oh well...Whatever." He shrugged and flipped over to the other side, facing the opposite of Twilight's bed. "Studying. It's all she ever does," he muttered, and soon was asleep. He never got to hear the unicorn's magic come to life.
Princess Celestia awoke with a hundred scrolls pouring down from thin air. "What in Equestria?! Spike has overdone his magic fire this time." The bemused alicorn threw back her head. "Oh, boy..." she sighed, parting with the comfort of her canopy bed. At this moment, her bedroom door swung wide open. Air rushed through the whole room, blowing the mare's flowy mane behind her back.
A smaller, dark blue alicorn bellowed,"SISTER! WHAT IS THY PROBLEM?!! THOUSANDS OF SCROLLS, JUST POURING DOWN LIKE NOPONY'S BUSINESS! THOU MUST FIX THIS AT ONCE!"
Celestia, still on her bed, merely blinked. "Luna, it's not just you. And I thought you were planning to change your speaking ways. It is modern Equestria, after all."
Her sister's glare deepened. "Do not try to change the subject, Celestia. And you should just take a glance at my room. Your measly puddle of scrolls aren't even a quarter of what I have!" she huffed. "Well? Move your royal rump! Think we have ample time? Not!" Without waiting even for a split second for an answer, the princess left. Princess Celestia could only do as her younger sibling had ordered.
"Finally! You had us waiting for a very long time," she complained. "By the way, look at the impressive amount of rain that had chosen my bedroom as their landing destination."
And sure enough, the 'rain' was not a joke.
