Shadow's Past.

Shadow Sky was a small Filly during the time that Luna was still ruling with her sister Celestia. The Little filly had a long dark blue mane and a Light blue and greyish coat,She also had Dark Blue eyes.Shadow Sky Did not have a Cutiemark yet though. When the day came for the Summer sun celebration the year before Luna got banished, It was being held in Canterlot, It had been alot those few years. When Shadow woke up she excitedly awoke her Mom so they could get to the celebration as quick as possible."Mom! Mom! Come on wake up we will be late!" Shadow said Jumping around on her Mom's bed.Her Mother was a nice mare but she could lose her temper at times, she had a bright Orange and light brown mane and a yellow coat, she also had Light blue eyes. Her Mother's cutiemark was lollypop shaped and colored like the sun, which fit her name, Sunshine Sweet."Shadow, we won't be late we will be there right on time I ;Yawn; Promise." Sunshine said instantly falling asleep again."Mom! Wake..Up..Now!'Shadow said pushing her Mom out of bed."Lets go-o-o!!!" Shadow Yelled running to her room to get her bag."Shadow! Come back here, I need to grab my bag!" Sunshine yelled lifting herself up from the ground."Okay fine but please hurry up!" Shadow said running to the front door extremely eager to meet the Princesses."Mom! Can you Unlock the door Please!" Shadow asked jumping up and down."Shadow, could you just wait one second?" Her Mom said walking over to the door to unlock it."Sorry Mom, I'm just really really super duper excited to see the princess raise the sun for the first time!" Shadow said as they walked out the door heading to the celebration."I know sweet heart, it is quite exciting, especially for you.

In a different part of equestria in the royal castle in canterlot Luna had just laid down after a hard nights work in ponies dreams.She was so tired but as she lied down Celestia came into her room."Luna, Sorry to barge in but would you mind attending the summer sun celebration for me today? I am way to busy to go and I am planning on raising the sun from my study." Celestia told Luna."Oh, well I just got back from the dream walking and was just about to sleep, but if you can't attend I would be fine, I can sleep later." Luna said getting out from her bed."Oh good, thank you Lulu Got to go do my work now." Said Celestia rushing of to her study to get back to work."Oh Tia, I'm so tired, what could be so important that you couldn't attend the celebration?" Luna thought. She got up and put her black tiara back on and headed to there celebration area.Meanwhile Shadow Sky and Sunshine Sweet were nearly at the celebration grounds."Mom!Mom! We are nearly there! Oh I can't wait to see Celestia!" Shadow Said."And Luna, Shadow."  Sunshine added."Yeah, and Luna." Shadow said.When they got there they saw that there already was a huge crowd of ponies all around."Aww, I wanted to be up front!"Shadow complained."I know you did sweet Heart, but this is as close as we are getting." Her Mom told her.Luna had then only just gotten to the balcony where Celestia and Luna used to stand when they where at the summer sun celebration."Citizens of Canterlot and visitors, My sister can not be here this year she has some work to do, so she will be raising the sun as she works. So I will be attending the Celebration for her."Luna announced. A bunch of ponies then booed her."Mom, Celestia isn't here." Shadow said disappointed."I know Shadow, I heard." Sunshine said."I know this is a big disappointment for alot of, but it will still be as much fun with me hear I assure you." Luna announced."We won't Princess Celestia, not some dumb Nightmare!" A small colt yelled at the top of his lungs. Luna looked down sadly."She is not a Nightmare she is just as good as Celestia, and I am too disappointed that Celestia couldn't make it, but I am glad that another great princess could be here in her place!" Shadow yelled as well. Luna looked astonished that anypony, a filly no less, would defend her and think she was actually a good princess."Young filly, what is your name?" Luna asked Shadow."Sh-Shadow Sky." Shadow said nervously."Shadow Sky, Thank you." Luna said then began to continue the Celebration.

Shadow was very happy with herself, she had defended the princess and she was also thanked."Mom! Can you believe that?" Shadow said smiling."I know it was exciting." Said Sunshine. While all this was happening Celestia was busy looking at letters from civilians and her student Starswirl The bearded. And then she came across a letter from an anonymous source, what it said was: Dear Princess Celestia,

You don't know and I am not planning on revealing who I am any time soon, But I am scared that Princess Luna, your sister will brake down any moment because of all the Ponies who hate the night. She could be overcome with fear and hatred. What I would like to ask you is to keep a close eye on her.
