My, what a hot mouth you have there, Spike...
"And that, as they say, is that!" Crowed Rarity triumphantly as she hung the last dress of her last order on it's hanger and levitated it to a rack, where it could await pickup.
The boutique was spick and span, with not even a thread out of place (celestia forbid!). Sweetie Belle had done an excellent job of tidying before she had left for her sleepover at the Apples' home.
Looking out her window, Rarity noted Rainbow Dash and her weather team rolling in clouds for a heavy rain that evening. If everything went to schedule, the rain would begin in just over an hour. Enough time to go somewhere, but not enough time to get back before her mane got wet if she got caught up in a conversation as so very frequently happened.
"A nice quiet night in it is, then." She stated firmly to herself.
"Ooh! "I still haven't watched that movie Ditzy loaned me. That will do just nicely."
Rarity then grinned to herself. "But first, snacks! This is one thing. I certainly do agree with Pinkie Pie on. The right food for the right occasion. It just simply isn't a proper movie night if I don't have a bowl of popcorn and a glass or two of Berry Punch's wine at hoof."
Placing a saucepan on her stove, Rarity used a spark from her horn to light it.
Huh...
She turned the knob to turn on the gas again and sent a larger spark...
Nothing.
Taking a moment to move her saucepan away from the stove, she moved her head closer to the stove and swivelled her ear.
She turned the knob several times, listening for the telltale hiss of gas, but to no avail.
"Oh of all the times..." Rarity huffed to herself only to hear the bell above the store door chime.
"Cooming~!" She sang out in a cheerful voice she didn't particularly feel as she made sure the gas was off before she left the kitchen.
As she spotted her visitor, she perked up slightly.
"Oh Spike, how lovely to see you. Was there something you or perhaps Twilight needed?"
Spike blushed and stammered a moment before he could respond. "Uh, no. I had some free time, so I came over to see if you needed help with anything."
"Oh Spikey, you are so good to me," Rarity gushed as she stepped aside to let him enter, "as a matter of fact I do need a hoof, or a claw as it were, with my stove. It just won't seem to light at all!"
"That should be easy enough, I'll just light it myself –"
Rarity slumped slightly. "I already checked, there doesn't seem to be any gas..."
"Oh... and I can't keep up a flame long enough to cook anything... Sorry Rarity."
Seeing Rarity droop even more, Spike did the only thing he could think of the help perk her up.
Rarity was surprised to feel Spike's warm arms surround her neck, his breath heating her mane pleasantly as it passed by and through it.
"Hmmmm..." Rarity hummed to herself, a somewhat naughty idea forming in her head. Could she? Oh, it would be so gauche, but then again, it could be so fun too. Who said Pinkie was the only mare in town who was allowed to be spontaneous anyway?
"Oh Spikey, I just had an idea that could be very fun."
Spike's heart stuttered as he took in Rarity's half lidded eyes and mischievous grin and gulped loudly.
"Follow me," she beckoned with her tail as she retreated into the lounge room.
When he entered the lounge, Spike found the mare already reclining on her couch, her head tilted down towards him and a small smile on her lips.
"Could you please put this in your mouth?" She asked as she looked up at him through her eyelashes.
"Wha- wha?" he stuttered, slightly confused by her request, after all, Twilight had never asked anything like this of him before, but then again, that was not to say that Rarity didn't have ideas that would never even cross Twilight's over-studious mind.
"Mind you don't close your teeth please, I imagine it could be quite painful."
Spike looked at Rarity oddly for a moment before joining her on her couch and doing as she requested.
"-ike -is?" he said, trying not to close his teeth.
Rarity cooed in delight. "Ooooh wonderful Spike, do you think you could breathe a little harder. Not too hard mind you, we don't want you to breathe fire and burn something, now do we?" She gave a coquettish giggle.
Spike's brow wrinkled as he concentrated on breathing harder, without breathing fire, and prayed that he would not get a message from Princess Celestia now of all times, not now that he was finally making Rarity happy...
"Oh yes! Just right spike. Now you just need to wiggle your tongue a little more and it will will be just oooo-ooh...."
It was plain to see Rarity was getting rather excited. A couple of stray sparks and an odd crackling sound could be heard emanating from within his mouth.
"Just a little more, a little more...."
FOOM!
Spike was knocked off his feet as off white matter erupted from his mouth, covering a large area of the floor in front of him as well as Rarity.
Rarity shook her head slightly, white falling from her mane in blobs. "My good goodness, Spike, I never expected we would make this much mess, but at least we learned something tonight..."
Spike confusedly looked up at her from the floor where he was still coughing slightly
"Dragons can make popcorn with their mouths!"
