Prologue
I threw open the locker room door and sprinted out. Smoke was pouring from the room, but that wouldn't hold them for long. I rounded a corner and ran toward the hall. The sound of running came from behind me, and I knew they would catch up before long. I burst through the hall doors and into the nearest classroom. I looked around for a place to hide. There was a lip above the door just large enough for me to stand on. I climbed onto a desk and on the lip just as they burst through the door. They began to look around the room, opening cabinets and looking under desks. The instant there was nobody looking my way, I quietly lowered myself down and went out the door.
I only made it a few steps before I felt someone grab my neck and lift me up. I was thrown back into the classroom and landed flat on my face. "Well, well." Jared said. "I have to admit, that was clever using a smoke bomb, but did you really think you could get away from us?" I turned over and the other guys were gathered around me. "Now, I'll ask one more time. get into the school system, and up our grades, or we'll beat the shit out of you." I stayed quite, too scared to speak. "suit yourself." Jarrod moved back and the other guys closed in, big mistake.
I clapped my hand together, causing two knives to spring from my wrists. I slashed at one of the guys. He jumped back and I only hit his jeans. The other guys took a step back as I got to my feet. I looked around, counting four guys. one of them jumped forward at me. I swung my arm and drove the blade into his left arm. He screamed in pain as he fell back. I swung at a second guy, who rolled out of the way. Suddenly, I was knocked to the ground. The other two guys pressed they're feet on my wrists, pinning my arms down. The guy I swung at grabbed my feet.
Jarrod came and stood over me. "ooh, another little trick from a little piece of shit. You are a clever one, but now I'm mad. You stabbed one of my guys, and I don't take that lightly." He punched me in the face. "I will personally beat the living shit out of you." He punched me in the stomach, and immediately again in the face. He threw punch after punch, each taking me closer and closer to the black abyss. Just when I though he was going to finish me, he stopped. He brought his face right in front of mine. "Remember this the next time we tell you to do something." He stood up and began to leave.
His followers left first. I turned over and looked up at him. He looked back and gave me a wicked smile. I raised my hand up as he turned. I snapped my fingers, and the blade on my wrist shot out. It connected with his spine. he stopped and immediately collapsed. He tried to turn over but couldn't move his legs. "Kill him!" he shouted. His guys swarmed back in and I pointed the other blade at them. They immediately stopped, knowing what I could do. We stared each other down, waiting for someone to make a move. It was me to go first.
I snapped my fingers, sending my other blade flying, It caught one of them dead in the stomach. he dropped to his knees and the other two rushed at me. I reached in my pocket for my other knife, but they got to me first. One of them picked me up and threw me against the wall. The other guy ran up to me and drove his fist into my stomach and I fell to the ground. A hand wrapped around my neck and lifted me. "Any last words before I crush your throat?"
"Shoeshine." He looked at me with confusion as I clicked my heels together. A blade came out of both my shoes. I kick with all the strength I had left. He dropped me and dodged out of the way. I fell to the ground and he stood over me. He ripped both my shoes off and threw them aside.
I took that moment to grab the knife in my pocked and drive it into his side. He screamed as he toppled over. I started turning to the last one as he tackled me. I dropped my knife and he picked it up. "I'm gonna enjoy ending you." Fear began to set in. This entire time I had something to fall back on. Now, I had nothing left. I felt cold steel pressed against my neck. I closed my eyes and prayed to any god who could hear me to help. I'm not sure if it worked, because everything went black a moment later.
