Frowning in confusion, Twilight stood up and lit her horn, unlocking the chains attached to the cuffs on Trixie’s wrists, but then locked them together in front of her. “Very well, I can’t leave you cooped up in here all day. Come on then, Spike will start dinner when he gets back.” Thankful to leave the musty tomes behind, Trixie almost skipped as she left the building. Her happy mood instantly disappeared at the glares being thrown her way. She shot a pleading look to Twilight, but the librarian did not move or even look at her, her gaze firmly on the guard. A few moments later there was a flash above her head followed by a mechanical click, and the guard pulled his hand away, holding it palm up; in the middle rested the golden ring that had been used to seal the majority of her magic away.
Realising the guard was offering it to her, she raised a shaking hand and took it, her mouth working to say something as Celestia stepped in front of her once more. “Trixie Lulamoon, this town has forgiven you for your tresspasses against them.” Celestia leant down and kissed Trixie’s forehead. “Go now and live in the freedom you have come to value.”

The librarian watched as the townsponies nodded their agreement with the action and slowly started to disperse. After the crowd had thinned out a little, Twilight lifted Trixie’s face to look at her, both smiling with tears in their eyes, then softly connected their lips.
They kept them pressed together, until Celestia spoke again. “Luna, my dear sister… it seems something was missing from your report last night. Care to explain?” She turned to look at her sister, but Luna just waved at them as she walked away amongst the crowd. Celestia turned back to the blushing unicorns stood next to, crossing her arms. “Well… I’m listening.”
