Budding Flowers
Nine Months
Previous ChapterBlossomforth was nine months into her pregnancy by now, having only two months left. She had chosen not to tell anypony she was pregnant with Alicorns, though she did let the ponies know she had twins. Blossomforth's stomach was now swollen past the normal amount for a mare that was carrying a single foal, though that was to be expected. She was often in discomfort, just because her stomach was so inconveniently large. Blossomforth dealt well with the fact that she was expecting twin Alicorns, though it did come with its challenges.
"Blossomforth? Are you up?" Fancy Pants called from the bottom of the stairs.
"Yes, I'm almost ready," Blossomforth said, brushing out her mane.
"You know the Princesses won't want to be kept waiting," Fancy Pants replied.
"I know, I'm ready," Blossomforth replied, trotting quickly down the stairs.
Fancy Pants nodded to Blossomforth, transporting the two of them into the room that Blossomforth had been showed to four months ago. When they arrived, the Princesses were already there. Blossomforth Sat down, easily tired by the weight of the twins.
"We're glad you could make it," Princess Luna greeted as the couple got comfortable.
"Its no problem," Blossomforth said with a smile.
"My sister and I had been doing extensive research on the rare occurrence of your Alicorn twins. It appears that Alicorns take longer to mature than normal foals because of the need for their magic to mature. We have approximated that the twins will need the mature for an extra three months, giving you a full pregnancy of fourteen months," Princess Celestia explained, giving the expecting mother a chance to process the information.
"What else have you found?" Blossomforth asked with a nod.
"We found that because of Alicorns long horns, they have a tendency to cause the mother's pain when they move and during delivery. They also become very lively at twelve months, though they are not ready to be delivered yet. I personally wanted to warn you that Alicorns can easily adapt social disorders, such as a bipolar personality," Princess Luna added softly, clearly ashamed of her time as Nightmare Moon.
"I believe the last thing we needed to tell you is that this will be your last visit here. We do not need to see you again until the birth of your twins. We would like to have you here for their birth, though it will be in the Canterlot hospital. My sister an I will see you there in five months," Princess Celestia confirmed before teleporting herself and Princess Luna out of the room.
"A lot to take in, huh?" Blossomforth asked, looking over at her husband, who hadn't said a word the entire time.
"Why yes! I didn't know Alicorns took so much extra work and time," Fancy Pants agreed.
"It has been great seeing the Princesses give my so much concern, but I fear they are too worked up about it. I mean, I'm just a pregnant mare, nothing too special,"
"But you are special! At least to me you are," Fancy Pants said with a smile, transporting the two of them back home.
Blossomforth walked downstairs from her bedroom and into the kitchen. She didn't have time to get breakfast this morning and it sounded good about now. She threw some oats into a bowl and sat down at the kitchen table, enjoying her meal. After about half her meal, Blossomforth started to get a bit nauseous, but she disregarded the feeling, finishing her meal. Blossomforth took the bowl over to the sink, her stomach churning, much to her discomfort. Blossomforth tried to start the dished but soon the sensation was too much for her, forcing her to the bathroom to expel her breakfast. She reached the toilet just before vomiting. The mare coughed roughly, walking out of the bathroom now feeling better other than the awful taste in her mouth. Fancy Pants waited for Blossomforth in the kitchen, wanting to give her the space she needed.
"I'll her the dishes, you just relax," Fancy Pants said softly, watching the Pegasus nod in thanks then stagger out to the couch.
Fancy Pants started cleaning, thinking about the symptoms caused by pregnancy. The only one that Blossomforth seemed to have frequently was morning sickness. Fancy Pants just wanted the foals to come soon so that Blossomforth didn't have to suffer through vomiting everyday. He scrubbed the dishes clean and put them away, trying to distract himself from the thought of Blossomforth getting sick for five more months. Suddenly, that gave Fancy Pants an idea.
"I'm going out, I'll be back later today," Fancy Pants called, darting out the door.
Fancy Pants trotted into the heart of the small town, watching the ponies go past. Soon, he face face to face with a large tree, a door cut out in the center. Fancy Pants knocked on the door and was greeted by a lavender Alicorn, Princess Twilight.
"Hello," Princess Twilight greeted.
"May I come in?" Fancy Pants asked eagerly.
"Of course, what can I help you with?" Twilight asked, closing the door behind Fancy Pants.
"As you provably know, Blossomforth will soon be giving birth to twins," Fancy Pants said.
"Yes, continue," Twilight urged.
"Blossomforth have chosen to keep it a secret, but the twin aren't just normal foals, they are Alicorns. I need your help," Fancy Pants concluded.
"That's wonderful!" Twilight exclaimed with a huge smile, "But why do you need my help?"
"Like most pregnant mares, Blossomforth has horrible morning sickness. Today we visited the royal sisters and they told us that a pregnancy with Alicorns will take fourteen months rather than eleven. I hate to see her suffer so I was hoping you would have a spell that could bring her up to the full fourteen months, instead of the nine she is at now," Fancy Pants pleaded.
"I have a spell, but pregnancy is a wonderful and important experience for mares and if I just take five months away from that, I fear she will be angry with me," Twilight explained.
"Please Twilight, she needs you,"
"Alright, I'll do it," Twilight confirmed.
