Once you clop, you can't stop
Hailstone had problems. Bad problems. The problems of a lonely mare. It wasn’t easy being a magical misfit. She projected a constant aura of cold that only intensified when her mood changed.
On duty, she was known as Mare Frigoris.
She was a tense mare. The Collective was causing no end of trouble. There were rumours of changelings all over. Foals being foalnapped. Dark things went bump in the night. It was bad all over.
And it was bad at home.
Hailstone was lonesome.
She had tried to take a hot bath, to relax, and get rid of that itch back there. Her bathwater had dropped down to near freezing in all but a few minutes, leaving her hot and flustered.
Life wasn’t fair.
She was alone. All alone in her private quarters. She lived in spartan digs.
She opened her trunk, rummaging around. It didn’t take long to find what she was looking for. She pulled out a novel, pinching it between her grasping digit and the central knuckle of her wing.
She held it in both grasping digits, extending both wings, her large bat-like appendages, and began to read.
The novel she was looking at was called “When the Fur and Feathers Flew Part Two.”
On the cover was a male griffon and a lusty looking earth pony mare, standing in a torrential rainstorm.

There was a click from the door as Luna entered.
“Oh my Hailstone. Have you been clopping?”
There was nothing that Hailstone could say.
“Did you get my note?” Luna asked.
Hailstone did not reply.

“Luna, I will do anything you ask if you will just help me.” Hailstone begged.
