The War of the Magi left the land scarred. Unicorns and many other strange beings called 'espers,' because of their dangerous powers, either stowed themselves away or risked persecution. One thousand years passed, when magic and espers were all but forgotten. In the wake of this era, machines and technology ruled the lives of the citizens. The Gestahlian Empire came to power, making many enemies with the cruelty of the current emperor's iron hoof.

A sudden breakthrough leads to the rediscovery of magic, and the Empire has put it to use, making fearful machines powered on the very essence of espers. It seems–and proves–quite impossible for even a massive army to take down this menace…until an accident with one of its own soldiers sparks a horrific chain of events that leads to its eventual fall and the re-awakening of the ancient Warring Triad at the hooves of a crazed stallion.

This is the tale of one mad soul who broke the world, and fourteen brave souls who helped to repair it.
