Load Full StoryDays 1-5: First Infection
We don't know where it came from. It just... happened. All we know is that Twilight Sparkle, personal student of Celestia, Element of Magic, and a princess herself, came back from a long trip with it on her face. A cross marking her face. At first we thought it was makeup, her trying to joke around with us... Until she started swearing at everyone she met, threatening and even beating someone half to death.
At that point, most people realized something was wrong. At around two days later or so, the person she was beating, May Weather I believe, suddenly started screaming profanities in the middle of the night, and even tried to stab her fiance, Noteworthy. The thing that was shocking was that she had the cross on her face like Twilight. It slowly spread afterwards in Ponyville, jumping from person to person leaving its calling card.
Even the Aerials weren't safe from this disease. Rainbow Dash, a well round person mind you despite her ego, was the first Aerial to be infected and she slowly showed symptoms of the virus. She spread it from herself, to her boyfriend, Thunderlane or something like that, then he to the Cloud twins and his little brother...
Eventually, it spread to Canterlot, infecting most nobles and even Blueblood himself. Most Arcanes held up in the Princesses throne room, hoping their princess would save them. Then something terrible happened. Infected Arcanes could magically send the virus over to another magical wavelength. In short, big magic barriers equals full time harvest. Celestia fell to the infection before anyone could react. One minute she was holding up the barrier, the next she suddenly pounces a noble and tore out his throat with her teeth.
The fucked up thing? This all happened within the period of five days...
Days 6-10: Fall of Mount Celeste
The mountain that Canterlot rests on is named after Celestia. It was named so, as a symbol of strength, valor, and bravery. On the sixth day of the infection, I personally watched the city fall from the mountain. From my little cell in Ponyville, I watched as the Golden City fell to the dirt, its knees finally giving out. I can't describe to you, anybody reading this, the feelings I felt when I saw the greatest city in Equestria fall to the ground. It was out of a horror movie, but then again, people eating other people is out a horror movie too.
My friend, Goldberg, once told me I was lucky. A lucky, lucky cunt. I was supposed to be shipped off to Canterlot yesterday. Something about, committing me into the Psych Ward there because they were more professional. I really am a lucky cunt...
Although, I didn't get the short end of the stick... You see, the Crossed, for a lack of better term, have three stages that I've been able to see. Stage One: Kill everything not them, and sometimes each other. Stage Two: Rape anything not them and each other. Stage Three: Eat everything not them, and they always eat each other. Nothing like watching someone's stomach fly up and hit the window your looking out of. Well, because I'm in a fucking high security cell in Ponyville, they can't get me... nor can't I get them. Why? I'm in a straightjacket, so how am I writing this? I'm an Arcane. We mostly use our hands, but I was born a little different. I can control all by sight, not by hand gestures. So why not blind fold me? They did once, it didn't turn out to well on my part nor the person putting it on.
Anyways... I'm in a big stone cell, with glass windows, (that surprisingly haven't broke yet) and a small cot. Homey right? I've seen survivors here and there, all of them either with guns or some long weapon like a spear or something, a pike perhaps. They seemed to doing alright enough. I knocked on my window, getting their attention. I quickly told them to stay here and for a while, so they can rest and catch their breath, and all but one came inside. She was a pudgy little woman, purple hair, pink shirt. She was screaming at them to come back, saying I was leading them in a trap. (This is after I offered shelter and some food mind you)
Fiddling with the lock on the outside of my cell, I managed to open the steel doors to the asylum.
They all came in, and I counted 5 males, 4 females, and I think about 2 or 3 kids. Hard to tell because that stupid bitch was screaming so loud she practically got the entire town on her. Quietly and quickly as I could manage, I closed the door to the asylum and showed my guests to their rooms. While some rooms were a mess, I cleaned them to the best of ability and they all took shelter with the walls.
That night, however, I heard one of the babies crying. It reminded of the old days and I silently prayed that it would shut the hell up.
Days 11-15: A Hard Choice To Make
Everything was going so smoothy. No fought, but still had doubts. I don't blame them either. Including me, there was a total of 12 people, 4 Arcanes, 6 Aerials, and 2 Earth-Movers. Now, I had briefly filled you in on Arcanes and Aerials. Earth-Movers don't have the ability to use magic nor flight, but they can manipulate the flora and fauna around them, essentially making them putty in their hands. A family who was well famous, Applejack and the other Apples, were practical masters at this. One swift kick of an apple tree and all the apples were in the buckets.
Anyways, everything was fine while there was some complaining saying that the food here sucked donkey dick, (No joke, Caramel really said that), so I told him as well as the others, either eat, starve, or throw yourselves to the wolves. I'm happy they all chose to eat, I may be insane, but I still have a conscious. Now, most are wondering, "Am I the only one in the asylum?" Hell no! There's my personal friend, Screwloose, Padlock, The Cooker, or Butch, as well as a few others. All are actually very nice, by the way, just don't too close to Padlock's cell... the last guy who did that actually went inside the cell so thank whatever deity is left for that.
Speaking of deities, I believe Princess Luna is still alive. The night before the eighth day I saw a large blue light, and I could tell it was one of the princesses, but not exactly who. It wasn't until i saw the sun go down and the moon rise over the horizon that I figured out what happened. Luna killed Celestia and took her duties as the sole celestial bearer. Since then, I don't know if she's a Crossed and still the moves them for fun, or if she really is truly alive.
....
Hmm... Quiet the commotion out there, I wonder what that's all about...
So... that's not good... One of our guests, Carrot Cake, was recently attacked by a Crossed but never said anything about it... In my boiling rage, my magic conjured me some arms, about six or so, and it took all of them to force him in a cell and lock it up tight. So, with him 'gone', we now only have 4 males, 4 females, and 3 children. Because of Carrot's nervousness, the tension began to rise again. An Arcane, Lyra, began accusing that Cup Cake was bitten too, and we had to throw her in there with him. While Mrs. Cake cried for mercy, her twins, Pumpkin and Pound began to cry for their father.
That's when someone said it, that the babies, the babies were infected too. Everyone stopped at that... and looked at the (still crying) children, then at him. My rage boiled again, and threw him in Padlock's cell, quickly putting a sound muffling spell around the cell itself.
I prayed that he would die quicker so I could lock the door and go away. When I locked the door again and began walking back, I thought came into my head. "This is their home now," I thought to myself, "I am meant to protect them no matter what the cost." That was when another thought came to my head.
"Nothing's gonna get better, huh?"
I answered myself. "Nope, things are just gonna get worse..."
