My Little Dashie: The Helix Gambit

Part I

::??? POV::

Three Years..three long unbearable years since she was taken from me.

my Rainbow Dash..my little Dashie.

I know it sounds crazy (part of me wishes I was insane, would make things easier)

but, fifteen years ago..I found a cyan pegasi filly with a rainbow mane.

I..found a cartoon pony, took her in, and raised her as my own.

but..it wasn't until she said "goodnight daddy, i love you" that I looked at her as my daughter.

our difference in species didn't matter to me..Dashie WAS my daughter.

For fifteen years I took care of her, taught her..LOVED her, and for fifteen years..I was loved back.

then..'THEY' came, Princess Celestia, Twilight Sparkle and the others.

they revealed that Dashie coming into my life was an accident..that the past Fifteen Years was an accident.

and, despite the love we both felt for one another..th-they took her AWAY.

worse..Twilight cast a memory spell on my dashie, so my daughter probably doesn't even remember me, anymore.

Sometimes I wonder if it was all a dream..that I was a delusional brony, who spent fifteen years living an impossible fantasy.

but, then I look into my photo album..I see the only pictures I have left of my dashie.

and, I read the letter that she wrote to me herself before she left..

'Dad,

For fifteen years you took care of me. For fifteen years you loved me,

played with me, and made sure I enjoyed my life in a world not meant to house me.

I'm not a mare of many words, but even though I told you this in person,

I felt you needed a written version of it so you will know it was all real.

I love you daddy.

You helped shape me into the mare I am now.

I'm not sure what is going to happen, if I will remember any of this or not,

but, I want you to know that you did a darn good job of raising me,

even if I was a bit stubborn at times and short with you during others.

With Celestia's permission, I hope to allow you to keep our photos; our memories,

with you so that you will never forget.

Again, I love you, and thank you.

All I need to do is read that one simple piece of paper..and, I 'KNOW' it all really happened.

I've memorized it word-for-word..but, I keep it with me, so I'll always know that what we had..

what we shared was REAL, and not a "child's fantasy"

I've tried to move on..tried to live for her, but..it's just so d*mn HARD, I WANT MY DAUGHTER BACK!!

I would give anything..just to see her again.

ANYTHING.

[Unknown Location]

::Helix POV::

I sit calmly in my seat as I watch the 'heartwarming' scene unfold.my leg crossed, and my flat hands interlinked and resting underneath my chin.

a wide smile formed on my face.

that poor man..that poor, DESPARATE man.

this is going to be EASY.

"BLECH!!"

I scowl as my eyes glance at my first lieutenant.

"how sickeningly sweet." she said, show obvious contempt

I let out a sharp sigh.

"yes..he is quite emotional." I said, my voice calm

"so, WHY are we wasting our time watching this garbage?!"

I growled lowly in my throat..but, quickly regain my calm composure.

"BeCAUSE, my dear Scarlett..WE are going to help him, (snickers) and, in return for our "kindness"..He is going help US."

I could help myself, an ingenius plan was already formulating in my mind: a Perfectly Flawless plan..

I began to chuckle..then, SHE had to ruin my moment.

"What could this fool possibly offer us??!"

I growled as I glared at the Mutant Cyborg.

"More than YOU are capable of comprehending, Scarlett."

Scarlett scoffed at me (a very predictible response) I simply ignored her, and continued to observe my target on the many video screens.

I smiled as I spoke again in a calm tone.

"send the order..bring him to me."

I knew Scarlett would object (or, at least hesitate), so I cast one of my infamous GLARES at her.

Scarlett scowled, letting out a gruff growl (I got her.)

"at once..lady helix."

I smirked, lightly tapping my talon-like index fingers together.

This was almost TOO Easy.

[Somewhere in a Forest]

::??? POV::

Everytime I stroll through this forest, I hope it'll be the last time..but, I can't stop myself from coming back..no matter how hard I try.

ever since my dashie "returned home", I moved out of the woodland cottage that was our home..tried to move on with my life in the city.

but, I keep coming back here to 'our home'

I dare not go near the old cottage..it's emptiness only fills my heart with grief, and reminds me of what I lost.

trekking down this forest path doesn't help much either, the last time I came this way, it was on the OTHER worst day of my life.

the day my Dashie discovered the truth.

that she was a fictional cartoon character, and, that I kept such a fact a secret from her for YEARS..

she was so angry with me..so hurt, I hated myself for what my deception put her through.

she flew away, and for Three. LONG. Days, I thought I'd lost her.

I walked in this very forest..either to look for her, or escape my own self loathing (both would be true, either way.)

some divine power must me taunting me, because I now find myself at the SAME PLACE.

that same Oak Tree..

When I first came to it, I was hoping Dashie was hiding in it, I wasn't sure at the time, so I sat against it and sulked.

I cried, screaming "I'M SORRY" to the heavens..

there was a CRACK, and I saw my Dashie standing before me.

she sat by me..and, calmly apologized to me for being so angry.

she then said those words that nearly broke me..

"Dad, Do..do you still love me??"

I remember being in tears, and saying

"Of course, Dashie..I've always loved you.

I still love you, no matter what..Not even a small fight such as ours could ever change that!!"

God..I miss her, I know I tried, but I'm not sure if I can go one more day without her.

Pony or not, she was MY daughter..and, i LOVED her.

(sigh)..i'm so sorry mom, dashie: I couldn't keep my promise.

as I stared the aging oak tree that brought back so many memories..I heard faint humming sound.

as soon as my head turned..a blinding light shot overhead, and blew apart the oak tree.

I was knocked back the shockwave of the explosion, as I looked up, I saw that the oak tree was burning like a roman candle.

Did a Bolt of Lightning hit it!?, but..there wasn't a cloud in the sky!!

as I stared at the blazing inferno..I heard approaching footsteps.

they were Loud, Blunt and sounded metallic.

I looked back..and, saw a feminine figure approaching.

once the figure was close enough..I nearly lost my breath.

It was indeed a woman..but, her body was cover in ginger red fur/hair, even stranger was her green eyes that bore catlike pupils, and long elven ears.

but, the freakiest thing..was both her arms and legs were Robotic, with hands and feet that resembled talons or claws.

my blood ran cold as she smiled..showing her razor sharp teeth and fangs.

with a sound that sounded like the 'transformation' sound effect from Transformers, she shifted one of her robot arms into gun clear out of Star Trek..and, aimed it at me.

"make this easier on yourself.." began the woman, her chilling voice bearing an exotic accent

"SURRENDER!!"

What else could I do??!..I RAN!!, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me.

but, this proved to be fruitless..as she fired at me with her 'gun'

they were evidently lasers, as the beams impacted the ground near my feet, causing small explosions.

I was knocked down as a result.

I tried to get up..but, I felt a metallic claw grab me, I looked, and came Face-to-Very-Frightening-Face with my assailant.

up close, I could see feline features on her somewhat human face.

I was freaking out.

Am I in the TWILIGHT ZONE!!?, I'm being attacked by some Cyborg Human/Cat Hybrid!!

she help me up effortlessly with her arm, the inner workings of her robotic limb clicking and whirling.

"I didn't say "RUN", dumba**." growled the woman

she then brought her free arm to my face..the last thing I remember was a FLICK from her hand..then, everything went BLACK.

[Later, In an Unknown Location]

I groan as I begin to regain consciousness..

my vision is blurred..but, eventually come into focus, to my shock, I find myself in what looks like a cell on a starship.

Was I abducted by ALIENS, or something!!?

Before I could swell on the situation further, the mechanical doors slip open..and, in walked some armored troopers.

the way their Black and Dark Red armor looked, I couldn't tell if they were Machines or People (at this point, NOTHING is going to surprise me)

"WHO ARE YOU!?" I demanded, officially rattled "and, what am I doing here!??"

(("patience, human..")) began one of the troopers, his voice distorted (("all of your questions shall soon be answered..now, COME WITH US."))

The shadowy troopers grabbed me, and began carrying me off.

there wasn't much I could do about it, as their hold on me was STRONG, and I couldn't get loose.

dear lord..First I lose Rainbow Dash, and NOW THIS!!

Could this GET any stranger!!?

[Command Center]

::Scarlet POV::

"INCOMPETENT FOOL!!!"

with my mechanical arms crossed, I scoffed as Helix continued yelling at me for what seemed like an hour.

"I don't see what the big deal is..I got him, didn't I?!

Helix clenched fists sparked with red, volt-like energy, as she pounded on the arm of her "techno-chair"

"You were SUPPOSE to give the order to retrieve him..NOT CARRY OUT THE ORDER YOURSELF!!

NOW, because of your usual carelessness, our "guest" had to be put under medical care..

HE IS USELESS TO ME DEAD!!"

I scoffed again, chuckling at Helix's use of the word "use"

"Way 'I' see it, He's useless to us ANYWAY, I mean..what could this Nobody possibly have to offer us?!"

"ALOT more than your primitive mind is capable of grasping..and, NEXT TIME I give an order: OBEY IT, DO NOT interpret it."

I rolled my eyes, scoffing again, never the less, I 'pretended' to be serious.

"Yes, Lady Helix..as you command."

Helix finally simmered down, apparently pleased enough with my fealty act.

I would want nothing more than to leave this backwater place, and move on to more "Important" matters in which my talents are put to better use.

like antagonizing that "Powderpuff" Girl, Buttercup, or ripping apart an Autobot with my own two hands..

but, no..I was here in some boring, backwater universe, where "modern science" is primitive at best, and has no heroes for me to 'play' with.

what a waste of dimensional space.. Somebody ought to vaporize this world, and be done with it.

I'd very much like to leave, but "Her Royal Highness" claims we have a purpose for staying here.

SO, like it or not..I'm stuck here, until Helix gets what she came for (whatever the hell THAT is.)

Strange she hasn't told me what she plans on doing with this guy.

Usually, I can't ever get her to shut up on her schemes, but THIS TIME, she's being very vague..leaving me with only guesses.

Does she even HAVE a plan!?

I was suddenly jolted from my thoughts by the sound of doors opening..I looked, and in walked some troopers with the loser nobody.

oh-ho..this ought be good.

The loser nobody was dropped down to the ground, I walked up as struggled to get up..and, looked straight at me.

I smiled a wide, evil grin.

"Hello, handsome..miss me??"

the man jumped back, clearly freaked (oh, how I 'LOVE' this.)

"wh-Who ARE you!?" exclaimed the man "and, WHY have you brought me here!!?"

Before I could make any remark, "Fearless Leader" spoke up as she approached.

"THAT is Scarlett..one of my underlings. and 'I' my friend..am HELIX.

the man looked at Helix..and, widened his eyes, Clearly he was feeling intimidated by both of us.

Not really surprising..given that I look like a cyborg she-beast, and helix herself looked positively Alien with cherry red skin and such.

"and, You are here..because we want to help you." finished Helix, grinning

"HELP ME!!?" exclaimed the man, clearly not convinced

Helix cleared her throat.

"My apologies for Scarlett's unnecessary roughness.." said Helix, again "She was only suppose to send somebody else to get you, BUT rest assured..she will be reprimanded for her inexcusable behavior."

I groaned at this.

I realize Helix was putting on yet another "act" (like she did with that 'Bliss' person) but, her talking down at me like I'm some 'rowdy child' gets on my nerves after awhile.

Helix then snapped her fingers..and, one of the troopers handed her something.

she showed it clearly to the Man: a Photo Album..the man had an extreme reaction.

"HEY!!, That belong to me-!!"

I grabbed 'Sir Freaks-alot', restraining him with my mechanical hands.

Helix began to casually look through the book, humming a tune as she did.

"my-my-my..you were such a CUTE baby (and, had some lovely parents, TOO!!)"

I smirked at this, Helix was clearly playing him, we both knew the REAL reason he was so protective of that album.

"Hmm-Mmm..yes, very nice." continued Helix, pretending to be interesting

"OOH!!..what have we here."

Helix had a sinister look on her face as she looked over the scrapbook.

"My Little DASHIE..Heh-Heh-Heh, how SWEET."

I felt the desperate man struggling in my grip, he CLEARLY didn't want Helix looking at the pictures of that flying horse.

bah..Ponies, I always DESPISED those thing.

they're so Disgustingly Cute (BLECH!!) the only thing a Pony is good for in MY Opinion are Glue Sticks.

"Hmm, you know..she actually is kinda cute, OH, just look at how Happy she is..she must've really loved you."

"GRR!!" growled the man

"OOH!!..what's This!?"

I saw Helix draw out a paper from the album.

"For fifteen years you took care of me, For fifteen years you loved me..."

Helix began reading to herself now, stopping to chuckle every once in awhile.

"..Your little daughter always,

Your little Dashie forever,

Rainbow Dash."

Helix smirked as she looked back at the man.

"Wow, looks like she really DID love you.."DADDY."

The man growled low.

"alright..you had your laugh, lady, Now, LET ME GO and GIVE THAT BACK!!!"

"WHOA, Now..easy: CALMNESS-Calmness, I didn't bring you all this way to Mock You..I brought here to HELP you."

the man eyed Helix.

"Help me?!"

I took that as my cue to release him, Helix dismounted from her chair, and approached the baffled loser.

Pff!!, might as well sit back..and, let Her Highness pitch her deal to the guy.

"yes..you seem so miserable, like All the "COLORS" in your life has went away..leaving behind only the GRAY."

the man looked down, looking depressed.

"they..They took my Dashie away (tearing up) m-might've erased her memories of me."

Helix grinned at him.

"and, I would assume your best attempts at 'moving on' has all but failed, yes??"

the man didn't say anything (which was all the answer we need.)

"Why..I just bet you would do ANYTHING to see her again." continued Helix "even if it was just for a 'little while',seeing your precious Dashie one more time would be absolute heaven."

Helix slinked over to the man (her movements like a serpent or panther)

"What if I told you there was a way??, what If I had the power to take you to her..(or, her you.)"

The man eyed Helix.

"I'd rather not be dependant on False Hope..i don't think my heart could take it." he said

"FALSE HOPE!!?, oh my dear mourning father..The "hope" I grant is anything BUT False.

Just take a look at me..Do I look like I'm from around here??!, does ANY of this look like it originates from Your World."

the man took a moment to examine his surroundings..and, paused.

"Let me tell you a STORY.." began Helix

I scoffed, rolling my eyes.

HERE we go..

"..When I was in High School, I theorized the concept of The Multiverse, that there are Other Universes beyond our own, that 'Reality' and 'Fantasy' are not so different.

by the time I was in college, I began working on a way, to bypass the invisible barriers that separates said worlds, and proving my theory.

I designed a device..that allows travel between Dimensions, a Marvelous Invention that makes "Crossovers" literally possible."

Helix then drew out a gun-like device..and, showed it to the man.

"Behold..the Trans-Dimensional Inducer (or, TDI for short)

when inputting the proper coordinates, one can materialize and portal, or quite literally phase yourself into another universe..a Universe like, oh-say: EQUESTRIA."

The man looked wide eyed..but, quickly resumed his dull expression.

"this HAS to be hoax."

Helix eyed him.

"Don't believe me??, We-heh-ell..I can fix that."

Helix began typing in some coordinates into the TDI.

"As the car dealers would usually say, 'You can't expect a customer to buy the vehicle, without taking it out for a Test Drive first."

the TDI beeped.

Helix then aimed it, and fired a multi-colored beam from it, the beam materialized into a swirling vortex pulsing with energy.

Needless to say..the man was freaked.

"Step inside, and you'll have ALL the proof you need." said Helix

"NO WAY!!, I'm not going in there!!"

I growled as I shoved the man forward.

"oh, MAN UP you stupid Brony!!" I snapped

"If it makes you feel any better..WE will come along with you." said Helix, softly "We only need to stay for a few minutes."

the man looked nervous..but, eventually complied.

Helix stepped into the portal FIRST, I then "walked with" the man as we went in last.

as we stepped through the vortex, there was a bright light..

Seconds later..we were all in giant, severely damaged metal city, why even the ground we walked upon was metal.

I looked up..and, saw TWO metallic moons in the sky: That's when I knew exactly where we were.

"Welcome to Planet Cybertron." said Helix, proudly

the man looked at still as a statue.
