The Equestria, the finest dreadnaught class ship in the Lunar Republic’s space fleet. She was heading into the docks for repair; there was a fairly large hole in the side of the hull from an earlier boarding party that had taken out two of the three engines and many smaller holes from an asteroid field they passed through. The ship was bigger than the city of canterlot and was armed to the teeth with artillery cannons. For three months Moonshine had been stationed on the equestria as he took up to his bunk and cleaned his rifle, his read and black main flowing down his shoulders, his white coat shimmered from the light above his head. he had not seen any action since the boarding party earlier, so he was taking some time off to himself when a siren blared as the Equestria shook from an explosion, “BOARDING PARTY IN REACTOR THREE, HULL BREACH REPORTED, MISSILE INCOMING, EVASIVE MENUEVERS.”

The captain stared out the front window as another ship warp jumped into view, it had celestia’s sun symbol on it. They had been found by the Celeste, the largest attack ship in the Celestial Empire’s fleet. The ship shone in the sunlight it seemed to have been a new addition to the fleet

“HULL BREACH IN LOADING BAY SIX,” the intercom blared as soldiers and repair ponies charged past Moonshine, as he was still recovering from the earlier explosion

“REACTOR THREE OFFLINE, SWITCHING TO BACKUP POWER,”

staggering to get up, moonshine grabbed his armor as another explosion rocked the ship making moonshine drop the armor. The intercom blared “PREPARE FOR BATTLE EVERYPONY, THIS IS NOT A DRIL I REPEAT NOT A DRILL, BATTLE STATIONS.”

The ship shook as the artillery cannons started to fire, Moonshine made his way to the bridge as more explosions hit the ship. “Sir, we are getting reports of hull breaches everywhere, and the engines are offline, This might be our final battle; I suggest we initiate escape protocol,” the right hand pony stated as the captain, moved his blue mane out of his eyes and looked at the screen showing all crew members and the ship’s status, the crew list showed deaths all over.

“Initiate escape protocol, get everypony off this ship,” The captain declared as he hit the intercom system.

“IT HAS BEEN A PLEASURE TO SERVE WITH YOU ALL, BUT NOW AS A DIRECT ORDER I DECLARE EMERGENCY PROTOCAL EIGHTY NINE, ALL CREW ABANDON SHIP,” The captain hit a switch as a siren blared and a voice said “abandon ship.”

The ship shook as another missile hit the side “MALFUNCTION, LIFE SUPPORT OFFLINE, COMS SYSTEM OFFLINE, FIRE IN AMUNITION BAY ONE, FIRE SUPPRESENTS OFFLINE,” the ship rocked again as the rockets in the ammunition bay ignited; tearing the ship in two, the explosion had thrown the captain into a wall and knocked him out cold, moonshine lifted the captain onto his back and carried him to the escape pod bay, there was only one left, they had ejected as Moonshine watched the Equestria go down, torn apart by missiles and artillery shells, the escape pods com system shouted, “any other survivors, this Is escape pod three, I repeat is there anyone out there?”

Moonshine hit the button and replied “escape pod fifty nine here, ive got the captain we made it off, how many of you are there?”

“oh good more survivors, there are three oo….” The com cut off and the escape pod jerked as a tractor beam had caught it and dragged it into the Celeste, the other escape pod had been brought in before them, and they landed right next to it.

A plasma torch slowly cut through the door of the escape pod as Moonshine got ready. The door fell over and Moonshine shot, taking out a guard and an engineer, he opened up the other escape pod to find the crew of it hiding, He told one of the survivors to take the captain to the escape pod bay and launch off the ship, He charged through the ship, making his way to the ammunition bay where he found the sun nuke, a fifty megaton bomb that used sunlight as an explosive, he wasn’t going down without a fight so he armed the bomb with a detonator he took from the remote detonated missiles. He turned around and saw ten soldiers had caught up to him, he opened fire and they did the same, being shot twenty times and badly wounded, Moonshine had been laying on the metal grate when one of the survivors snuck up behind and shot the soldiers. Even though he was bleeding out, Moonshine had slowly made his way to the bridge with the other survivor; Moonshine slowly limped into the hall and fell over in pain still holding the guns up.

More soldiers had entered the hall, they saw moonshine and the other survivor as the soldiers had opened fire, killing the survivor, and wounded moonshine. The soldiers left thinking that the two were dead.

Moonshine had troubles breathing as a bullet had punctured his lung. His life was almost done as he lied there on the metal grate slowly dying, he stumbled with the detonator, his white coat was stained with blood as he held the detonator up with his magic and hoped the escape pod was far enough away to be out of range, he pushed the detonator and the sun nuke detonated, tearing the celeste to pieces, the captain and the last survivor had been out of range and watched the celeste go up in sunlight and explode into pieces.

The battle had been gruesome as bodies of ponies floated around; pieces of the ships had been bent beyond use, the escape pod jerked around as the shockwave from the detonation had knocked out the engines. A recon ship that had been watching the battle saw the escape pod and dragged it into its cargo bay, the captain and survivor armed themselves, the recon ship was small and was meant to carry a crew size of three, and it seemed all three were present when they opened the pod, after the captain and the survivor opened fire the crew laid on the floor dead.

The captain had taken control of the ship, entered the coordinates to the new lunar republic’s base on the moon and warp jumped.

The recon ship contained the coordinates for celestia’s mothership, “the place of her residence, attack her directly and end the war,” the captain said as he loaded the recon ship with a smaller replica of the sun nuke about ten megatons, the captain entered the coordinates into the ship and set off .

It took about two weeks to get to the mothership, it gave the captain time to go over the schematics of the mothership, “top level, observation deck, that’s where she will be,” the captain muttered to himself as the ship exited warp jump.

The mother ship was impressive with gold and silver decorations and a ships entering and exiting , dreadnaught class cruisers hovered around it, easy for the bomb to get shot down.

“only one way to do this” the captain muttered to himself as he charged the engines and pointed the recon ship at the observation deck.

It took three seconds for the ship to impact, but those three seconds seem to last forever as the captain, smirked as he saw celestia’s face just before the explosion tore a hole in the mothership, vaporizing the captain and celestia.

The memorial service took place four months after the killing of celestia, a statue was put in place for the captain and moonshine, the war was over and luna had won, her sister was dead and the blood shed had stopped and peace had been restored

it took over a century to rebuild the broken nation, families reunited and the sister took leadership and rose the sun and moon everyday, and memorial was placed for those who lost their lives...In The Battle for Equestria...
