Octavia looked out from behind the stage curtains, taken aback by the chaos ensuing. Even the music, about a million times louder than anything she would ever play or enjoy listening to, was completely drowned out by the excessive roars of the crowd. Many were clearly under some degree of chemical or alcoholic influence. "Such obscenity," She muttered to herself, disgust growing in the pit of her stomach. What was she even doing here?
In an instant, however, the entire audience went silent. It was as if something incredibly shocking had happened and nopony could believe it; they each simply directed their attention at the stage. Octavia shyly pulled her head back behind the curtains. It didn't do much good, though, as she felt a white hoof grab her arm and pull her right back out onto the stage. Vinyl Scratch led her to the front, close enough to touch many of the audience members. The eerie silence continued. Octavia looked at Vinyl with a curious expression.
"Vinyl, what are we doing up here?" A shudder ran down Octavia's spine as Vinyl responded with nothing but a smirk. Something about her eyes also seemed absolutely devilish. Sure, her eyes were completely hidden by her sunglasses, but from her viewpoint her eyes seemed.. treacherous, somehow.
"We're just gonna play a little game, Octy!" It quickly became apparent that the microphone built into Vinyl's glasses was turned on, as her voice echoed throughout the large, pony-filled room. "A fun game!"
Whatever this game was, Octavia thought, it was almost certainly going to be at her expense. Vinyl always meant well in the past, but when she was drunk she had a tendency to go much farther than she normally would. Octavia gave the air a quick sniff in front of Vinyl's face; as she expected, the scent was that of Vinyl's normal breath, sweet with a spicy feeling to it, dampened with the heavy stench of alcohol. Octavia sighed.
"Vinyl, you are going to kill your liver if you keep drinking like this," she scolded in a slightly pleading tone. "Let's go home."
Vinyl didn't respond to Octavia's request. In fact, it seemed as if she was just.. waiting for something. Something unpleasant. Octavia opened her mouth to ask again, but all that came out was a surprised cry when the feeling of a frozen waterfall started pouring down, splashing all over her back and her head, soaking her mane instantly. The alcholic scent grew more potent, causing Octavia to look up at Vinyl to see if she'd moved closer. To her surprise, her friend was still the same distance away. The liquid kept pourind down. Octavia didn't even realize at the moment it would've been impossible for Vinyl to hear her; Vinyl, as well as the rest of the crowd, had burst into cheers and laughter once the alcohol had started being poured. Octavia narrowed her eyes in her anger. Vinyl was going to pay for every drop of liquor on her.
In a furious rage, she grabbed Vinyl by the horn and dragged her offstage. Once it was possible for her to be heard, she started speaking, her voice broken with fury and humiliation. "You won't be laughing much longer.."
Vinyl's ears perked up and she looked upwards at Octavia's face. "Yeah? You gonna keep me from laughing?~" She giggled. "You don't have it in ya, Octy!" Vinyl's mind rushed to her idea the previous day. Neon Lights had agreed it would be the best way to teach Octavia to stand up for herself a bit more. In the past, Octavia did nothing but plead and beg for ponies to do what's "proper" and "right" and as much as Vinyl hated rules, she hated prissy Canterlot ponies more. Her thoughts were interrupted as Octavia threw her into the dressing room, making her land on her back. A smirk crossed Octavia's lips.
"I thought you might try something like this; after all, I seldom get invites to your concerts," her tone was surprising to Vinyl. Had Octavia had more self confidence than she thought? "That's why I brought this.."
Octavia reached back into her tail and pulled out a black collar. Without giving time for even the thought of protest, she slapped it around Vinyl's neck and held the remote up. She showed it to Vinyl as she raised it to the second highest setting. Vinyl gulped.
"H-Hey, Octy, let's talk about-" she was silenced as Octavia lowered her face to hers and spat into her mouth, her saliva hitting the back of Vinyl's throat and making her choke weakly. Octavia shook her head. "No talking. Not for you."
Vinyl was shocked, but not by the collar around her neck. She was shocked and confused at this gruesome behavior of a best friend she'd had since they'd attended Canterlot High, back a long time ago. It was a very, very demanding school and they'd worked their flanks off to get into it, but they both knew the second they saw each other that neither of them really belonged there. Vinyl looked back into Octavia's eyes, attempting to read her expression. "Octy, are you drunk..?"
