As she walked in she noticed two ponies. One was an older stallion with a dark messy blue mane and a much paler blue coat. The other pony was a mare that looked around her age. She had mane as black as charcoal and a coat as gray as ash. Vinyl trotted into the cafe disiding to sit next to the mare rather than the stallion. She sat one chair away from the rather well groomed mare. As the DJ sat down she noticed that the mare she sat next to was wearing a purple bow tie. "Eehem " Octavia coughed as she caught the DJ staring. "May I help you?" "Ugh?" Vinyl said with a confused expression on her face. "No , I'm sorry, I was just looking at your bow tie." Vinyl said with a grin on her face. "Hi I'm Vinyl, Vinyl Scratch" "Octavia Melody" "Hello"the waitress interrupted "what can I get you " she asked with a grin "I'll have the salad"Octavia answered "And I'll have the pancakes!" Vinyl shouted "Coming right up." The waitress smiled and walked away. "That's a very nice bow tie " Vinyl said in a polite tone still grinning. "Oh" Octavia blushed but just slightly. "Well... Thank you " she said happily returning the grin. "Those are very nice sun glasses" she said with a smile "Thanks , these are what make me DJ-Pon3. Well that and my music" Vinyl said with a slightly to happy grin. "Oh your a disk jockey" Octavia raised an eyebrow as she spoke. "Sure am!" Vinyl exclaimed as she pointed at her cutie mark. It was two eighth notes. "Oh... Well that's nice." Octavia stated with a small smile. "Yuuup it's a pretty hard job. But I LOVE IT!!!" Vinyl shouted. "It doesn't look nor sound hard at all." Octavia stated "Wat do mean?" Vinyl asked as she raised an eyebrow. "Well....." Octavia paused for a moment. "I don't see the difficulty in simply twisting and turning nobs and playing records." Vinyl looked really offended by that comment. Without even thinking Vinyl stood up and yelled "What would you know about making music you PRUDE!!!!!" Before Vinyl could apologize for yelling Octavia had already began to speak. "Well I'll have you know I know a lot more than you, you HUSSY!!!" "Want do mean?" Vinyl asked slightly confused before looking At Octavia's cutie mark, and seeing a purple treble-clef. "What so your a DJ?" Asked Vinyl "Absolutely not, I am a cellist, I play classical music. Not that you would know anything about being classy."she said in a refined manner. "Ohhhh well that explains it."vinyl hissed "Explains what "Octavia asked. "Why your so boring and think you know everything. Your one of those fancy Canterlot snobs!" Vinyl snorted "What ...I....ugh.... I am not!!! You know what I do not have to sit here and let some club harlet tell me I'm strange!!!" Octavia yelled and with that Octavia stood up placed a few bits on the counter turned around with a huff and walked away. Vinyl was feeling slightly guilty but quickly shook it of and continued eating her pancake. ------------ The nerve of somponies Octavia thought to her self as she strolled down the block and around the corner to get back home. After 20 minutes of walking she finally arrived at her house. As she stepped inside her phone wrung. She trotted over to the phone and answered ,"Hello?" She said with caution. "Hey Octavia !" A familiar voice said "Hello Lyra."Octavia replied "So me and Bon Bon were wondering if you'd like to go out tonight!!!"Lyra shouted with enthusiasm. "What do u mean 'go out'?" Octavia asked. "Like go out PARTYING!!!" Lyra screamed. Octavia thought for a moment and than after a minute or two she spoke"I don't know Lyra it doesn't sound like my type of thing." "Oh come on don't be such a snob." Exclaimed Lyra. Right after Lyra said that Octavia thought back to the moment when she was at the cafe, to what the unicorn told her "your one of those fancy Canterlot snobs." "You know what Lyra. Ok. Let's go party tonight." "Great meet us out side club Canterlot at 8:30PM." "See you then." Octavia said as she hung up the phone and walked to her room -------- Vinyl was getting her equipment set up at club Canterlot the show started at 8:30 and it was 8:25. She had five minutes to get everything set up but she wasn't to worried about that because she just finished getting everything set up. "Yaaa! That's how it's done" she said as she readied her records. Vinyl thought that she knew everything about music, then out of nowhere a voice of a grey earth pony caught her attention "Well I'll have you know I know a lot more than you, you HUSSY!!!" Vinyl snapped her head towards the direction were she thought she heard the voice from only to realize it was just her imagination. "Come on Vinyl" she said to her self. "Don't let some pony through you off your A-game" just as she said that the doors opened and a bunch of ponies came rushing in. Vinyl quickly put on her sunglasses back on and turned on the mike. "Ok every pony who's ready to get blown away!!!" Every pony started cheering as Vinyl started set.

The music here is so loud. I could her it a block away. Uuuuuggghhh I have to go in there. She thought but before she could continue thinking voice interrupted her train of thought. "Octavia you came!" Before she could respond Bon Bon's hooves were already rapped around her neck hugging her. "Of course I came I said I'd come and I did"Octavia said with a smile. Then looked at the club behind Bon Bon. It was a really big building that was just plain white no windows just two double doors, and a really big stallion guarding it. "We have to go in there?" Octavia said with a slight hint of fear in her voice. "Suuuuurrrreee are!!! You ready?" "I......" Before she could finish her sentence Bon Bon grabbed her and pushed her inside " Come on Lyra's already inside and probably wasted. So we have some catching up to do!!!" They passed the bouncer with ease and the fact Bon Bon had slipped a few bits in the stallions shirt pocket. As soon as Octavia stepped hoof inside she was instantly hit by a wave of sounds. "Where's Lyra!!!!" Octavia shouted over the loud music. "Ummm....over there!!!"she shouted back. About 10ft away was a very drunk and happy Lyra dancing on the dance floor. "There she is!" Bon Bon yelled over the music. "Come on let's go join her!" "Actually I think I'll go have a drink!" Octavia yelled back Well Bon Bon was dancing with Lyra Octavia trotted up to the bar and sat at an empty seat. Well she was sitting she looked back. Uuugghh how could ponies just dance like that all sweaty and sticky just thinking about it makes me want to take a shower. "Hello" the bartender said interrupting Octavia's thoughts "what can I get you." The bartender said. "Oh...I'll have a glass of wine she." said "WHOOHOO!!!!!!" Octavia looked back to see who was yelling. It was Lyra and Bon Bon they were both incredibly drunk "YEAH!!!!! WERE SO F***** WASTED!!!"screamed Lyra and Bon Bon in unison. How did Bon Bon get drunk so fast. What a light weight. Octavia thought then turned around to face the the bar tender "Make that a shots of vodka, berban, tequila, and some scotch." "Erm isn't that a little much for a small mare like you?" The bartender asked with a concerned look on his face. "Trust me I can handle it ."Octavia said. "If you say so." The bartender stated as he reluctantly began pouring Octavia her drink. Vinyl was at the mixing table playing her tunes, and she had already forgotten about the mare who had walked in the club a few moments ago. She wasn't going to let some mare put her off her game. Vinyl was really mixing it up today more than usual she really had every pony dancing they looked like they were having a good time. She was really dropping the bass as she was she looked at the clock and she realized it had already been an hour so she drove the song to a close and spoke. "Alright everypony that's it for me so please welcome Neon Lights!!!" The crowd went wild as Vinyl stepped down and Neon stepped up and began playing his tunes. Vinyl was really happy with her self she had started with a bad morning and ended with a good night. Well it wasn't over yet Vinyl had to do something really Important and that thing was to get unbelievably wasted. She trotted up to the bar opposite of a certain pony she had yet to notice."Yo Mixer!"Vinyl yelled at the bartender. "The usual extra rum." "You got it Vinyl." Mixer said happily By Vinyl's fifth usual, which was a mixture of vodka, rum, and hard cider. She was unbelievably smashed beyond belief. Same thing for the mare across the bar her was on her sixth vodka shot. Vinyl was about ready to go home so she got off her seat and began to walk over to the other side of the bar towards the exit when all of a sudden, THUD!!! Vinyl had bumped into some pony and they had fell to the ground the pony she was now on top of was cursing or at least Vinyl thought she was cursing she couldn't tell because the mare she was on top of was slurring her words or she thought is was a mare she couldn't tell her vision was blurry at the moment. When it returned she was able to focus on the figure she was on top of. It was a gray earth pony. "Ow that really hurt." Octavia said her muzzle deep in the floor. "Oops my bad hey wait a minute....aren't you that, hic! mare I yelled at earlier today? Hic!. " asked Vinyl as she got off of Octavia."Yer name was octopuse right?" asked Vinyl again. "Actually I'm Octavia oh.... it's Hic! you." Octavia stated flatly. "Hey don't be like that Octy..." "Actually it's Ovtavi..." "Yeah yeah well I'm calling you Octy" Vinyl interrupted. "But..." "So how have you Hic been." Vinyl said interrupting Octavia's sentence again. "Uhhhmmm....good....I-I think."Octavia said really confused. "That's good... Thas realllleh good." Vinyl said feeling slightly woozy. "I-I don't understand." Octavia said now really confused. "Don't get what?" Vinyl asked now she was confused. "I thought you hates me for dissing your music." Octavia said feeling a bit woozy as well. "What no...I just get a fended easily when it comes to my music." Vinyl replied with a grin. "Oh...well uhhmm."Octavia didn't know what to say. "Well for what it's worth I apologize"Octavia said feeling a bit guilty. "What... Oh, no sweat. Sorry I called you a" Vinyl paused she couldn't remember what they were talking about " What were we talking about." Vinyl asked. "I dunno" Octavia said feeling really woozy now. "Hey Octy are we friends now?" Asked Vinyl. "I-I thinxs so" Octavia said slurring her words a bit. " Good because I need somepony to help me home because I'm wasted!" Vinyl yelled giggling a little. "What but I came here with my other friends." Octavia said. That and she wasn't to happy about having to take the same mare who had insulted her home. She then remembers she had to keep an I on her friends. She scanned the room searching for her friends at last she she spotted them walking out the front door. "Ooh great they've left me." Octavia thought to her self. "Great how am I supposed to get home now I can't go walking out all by my lonesome I'll get mugged or kidnaped." She thought. She then looked at the very intoxicated mare beside her smiling at her with a very sloppy grin. "Weelllll?" Asked Vinyl with a very happy grin on her face "Fiiiiiinnneee!!!!" Octavia said giving in. "But could you have to walk me half way to my house!" Octavia stated. "Deal!" Exclaimed Vinyl "Come on let's go." She commanded Octavia jumped of her stool only to fall flat on her flank. She hadn't realized how drunk she was. Well Octavia was struggling to get up Vinyl was on her back laughing. "This is going to be a long walk." She stated slightly irritated
Chapter 4: Walking HomeView OnlineVinyl and Octavia: Another love storyChapter 4: Walking Home Chapter 4: walking home "So...umm....were do you live?" Asked Octavia as they walked down the street. It was extremely late, and dark. "Not to far from here we'll be at my house any minute now." Vinyl replied. "Oh that's good. Soooo Vinyl you work at club Canterlot?"Asked Octavia. "Yeah, I've worked there for a while. I guess that's were I'm most well known." Vinyl said with a happy grin. "Oh that's nice." Octavia replied. It was silent for a while. Mostly because they were to drunk to think of a good conversation and they were paranoid for some reason. Then again they are drunk so what can you do. After a while of awkwardness Vinyl decided to break the silence. "Sooo club Canterlot huh?" "What?"Octavia asked curiously. "It's just that I didn't expect to see somepony like you at a night club." Vinyl said giggling a little. "Now now what are you talking bout somepony like me!" Octavia said a little offended. "Well no offense but...you don't exactly look like the party type." Vinyl explained. "Well your right I only came because my friends somehow convinced me" Octavia sighed. "Hey considering that we just met sort of and your helping me home, your not so bad." Vinyl said in a kind voice. "Speaking of home are we almost at your house yet because we've been walking so long were almost at my house?" Octavia asked. "Oh...uummm.....about that." "Yeeessss?" Octavia said cautiously. "I forgot were my house was."Vinyl said sheepishly. "What do you MEAN you FORGOT were your house IS!!!" "Well I new were it was a few minutes ago." Vinyl replied. "I can't believe this how do you forget were you live?!?!"Octavia shouted "Well we started talking, and I wasn't paying attention to were we were going then....wellll.... Yeah you get the point." Vinyl replied sheepishly. "I can't believe this how could this happen?" Octavia asked. "Well I am pretty wasted and so are you so you should have known bett....." Vinyl was interrupted by Octavia. "Are saying this is my fault! I don't even know you!!!"Octavia shouted. "Woooh calm down I just kidding didn't you here me I'm drunk." Vinyl joked. "Uuuuuhhhh I'm to drunk and tired to deal with ponies like you." Octavia groaned. "Whatever" Vinyl said casually. Octavia rolled her eyes and looked around. They were around the slightly nicer side of manehatten so that meant they were closer to Octavia's house. She continued to look around then saw a small cafe she had been to before. It was the same cafe she wen to earlier that day, and that cafe was only two blocks away from her house. "Follow me." Octavia commanded They started walking towards Octavia's apartment. After a ten minutes of walking and vinyl saying "Are we there yet?" They had finally arrived. They walked up the stairs and right when Octavia was about to open the door her vision blurred and every thing went black. Next thing she new she was passed out on the ground. I guess she forgot how drunk she was. Vinyl just stared. She didn't know what to do. "Hey....uummm..... Octy are you dead?" Vinyl asked alarmed she put her ear next to her mouth to make sure she was still breathing. She was. "Wooh thank Celestia." She said when she got back up she lost here footing and fell right on top if Octavia. When Vinyl after a few seconds she felt some pressure against her lips when she opened her eyes she realized that her lips were pressed against Octavia's. At first she was startled, but instead of pulling away she held them there for a little bit. She didn't move her lips just held them against Octavia's they were so smooths and soft and even though she was drunk her breath didn't really smell like alcohol it was mint she probably took one before they left. Vinyl was just lying there on Octavia not moving after what seemed to be hours but was actually 3 minute Vinyl began to slowly move her lips. She didn't know what she was doing but she just couldn't take her lips away from Octavia's. She couldn't believe this she was kissing an unconscious mare she had just met. After a minute she pulled away and got off Octavia blushing like crazy from what she had just done. She then lifted up Octavia and put her in her back opened the door. She stepped inside after a while of stumbling in the dark while looking for the light switch she finally found it and turned on the lights. After letting her eyes adjust to the light she was pretty impressed about why she saw. It was a two bedroom one bath apartment. The living room was huge and so was the kitchen. She actually felt emberest all she had was a crappy one bedroom one bath apartment on the rather rough side of town to. And her living room and her kitchen were in the same room. She walked over to one of the rooms it was empty probably just an extra room. She then looked in the other room and there was a queen sized bed with purple covers and a lighter purple treble clef on it like her cutey mark. She laid Octavia down on the bed and covered her. She leaned in and was about to kiss her but stopped herself she then walked over to the living room and plopped down on the couch and within seconds fell asleep.
Chapter 5: Good MorninigView OnlineVinyl and Octavia: Another love storyChapter 5: Good Morninig Chapter 5: Good morning Octavia woke up to a bright and early morning. Most of the time that's how she liked it. This however was not one of this times. The light was shining right threw Octavia's window and directly into her eyes. "Nnnhh"Octavia groaned. "What happened last night?" She asked herself. She licked her unbelievably chapped lips. "That's odd"she thought to herself "My lips taste different." She again said to herself. They tasted different but not in a bad way. They were actually kind of sweet, like candy. She probably had eaten candy or something. So Octavia shrugged it off not giving it a second thought. She then gathered the will power to climb out of bed. She then slowly walked out of her room and into the shower. Vinyl had woken up on account that she had just rolled off the couch "ooooww"she groaned muzzle deep into the carpet. Wait carpet Vinyl didn't have carpet. Mostly because tile was easier to clean. She stood up and looked around and found herself in a much better apartment than hers. She looked around wondering how she got there having almost no memory of last night."Did some stallion take home with him?" She asked herself. "Or some mare." She said blushing a little. Vinyl was a fillyfooler although she wasn't quit comfortable with it yet on account that she had just discovered it."Well maybe we didn't...you know do anything, I did just wake up on the couch, or floor." She said breathing calmly. "Yeah. Ok let's see what happend last night. I...uh...finished my set and I decided to....uhhh....have a few drinks." She said trying to remember. "Then I got a little drunk and met somepony. But not just any pony somepony I knew. Her name was o...oc..oc..OCTY!!! Yeah Octy. Wait I thought she hated me Hahn never mind that let's see." She said trying to remember more. "We were both drunk and she walked me home but I guess we came to her house instead." She said. Then she began to remember something that had happened at Octavia's front door. "Did I kiss her?" She asked herself blushing like crazy. "I did didn't I?"Vinyl was now so red that her face almost looked like a tomato. "We're is Octy?" She said in a shaky voice. Just when she said that she heard a door open. Octavia stepped out of the bathroom she had already done her hair and she was waring her purple bow tie. When she walked in the living room and saw a white unicorn with an electric blue mane at first she was scared not knowing who this pony was until she said "Oh...umm....hey Octy." Then the memory's of last night came flooding back. "Right....ummm....good morning uuuhhh." Octavia couldn't remember the ponies name. It was ummmm vi...vi... Vinyl!!!," Vinyl good morning Vinyl." Octavia said smiling. "Thanks for letting me crash here last night." Vinyl said her voice still shaky. Octavia stared at Vinyl she was still waring her sunglasses, which Octavia thought was kind of odd, and her front legs were crossed, and her face was as red as a tomato. "Umm...no problem." Octavia said smiling. This maid Vinyl more relaxed. "Ummm are you alright your face is a little red?" Octavia asked. "Yeah I'm fine." Vinyl said quickly. "Are you sure?" Octavia asked concerned. "Yeah I'm totally fine." Vinyl responded. "Alright if you insist." Octavia said dropping the subject. Octavia was recollecting the events of last night when she had remembered most of what had happened she didn't remember blacking out not in her bed. She then looked at Vinyl and asked,"umm Vinyl how did I get inside. As a matter of fact how did I get in my bed?". "Oh we were talking and you blacked out in front of your door, and then I...I..."Vinyl then remembered what happened next, and wasn't about to tell her," I picked you up and carried you inside that's it." Vinyl said a little to loud. Octavia found that odd but quickly turned her attention to what Vinyl had said. " You had to carry me inside?"she asked really embarrassed. "Welllll.... Yeah." Vinyl said with a smirk. It was Octavia's turn to turn into a tomato. "Well umm thank you, and I'm sorry for the inconvenience." Octavia apologized. "No problem." Vinyl said smiling. " now come on we're leaving." Vinyl said. "What? Were are we going?" Octavia asked curious, scared, and worried. "Well since you let me crash here I'm treating you to breakfast."Vinyl said still smiling. Vinyl was trying to be really nice because she wanted Octavia to like her. "I really want her to like me." Vinyl thought. "So what do you say?" Vinyl asked a grin on her face. "Well I don't know I wouldn't want to be a burden, more than I already have you having to carry me inside last night and all." Octavia said looking down hooves. "I told you no worries besides if it weren't for you I'd probably be walking up on the street right now." Vinyl said still smiling. Octavia thought for a moment and when she was about to open her mouth her stomach growled rather loudly. She then looked at Vinyl who was extending a hoof, and giving her the "I know you want to"look."Fine were are we going?" Asked Octavia. "You'll see. Now let's go eat my treat." Vinyl said happily already heading out the door. "Why do I have the feeling I am going to regret this." Octavia murmured also trotting out the door to what she hoped would be a nice day.
Chapter 7: See You FridayView OnlineVinyl and Octavia: Another love storyChapter 7: See You Friday Chapter 7: See you Friday Vinyl And Octavia began to walk out the door of the cafe. Even though they had arrived at 9:00 am it was barely 9:34. Octavia didn't really care about what time it was or how bad her headache was. Ok she cared a little about her headache, but for the most part she was thinking about the odd mare who she had just eaten breakfast with, and was now walking beside her. "You know you didn't have to pay for the food right?" Vinyl said looking a little guilty. "What do you mean?" Octavia asked sincerely. "The food I said I'd take you out to breakfast, and you paid for it,how come." Vinyl asked. "Force of habit I guess." She answered frowning at the ground. Her friends had always expected her to pay. They thought like her parents Octavia was very wealthy. But the truth was it wasn't like that at all. Octavia didn't like relying on her parents but some times her performances wasn't enough to pay the bills. she never really asked her parents for anything but every time she needed bits she'd get a check in the mail from her parents, and every time she saw them they'd always make her feel guilty, well her mother would any way. The only friends she had who didn't do this were Lyra and Bon Bon. "Oh....well now I feel bad about eating your food, and making you puke." Vinyl said frowning. "It's ok I wasn't that hungry, and I probably would have ended up throwing up any way." Octavia said trying to shake the thoughts from her head and form a smile. "Still I feel kinda bad for making you puke like that." Vinyl lowered her gaze and starred at the ground. "It's quite alright honestly. Although it was completely unnecessary and immature, and childish and I wanted to hit you..." Vinyl cut her off "Whoa ok I said I was sorry." Vinyl giggled a little nervousness that Octavia would hit her. Vinyl felt off her A game today. Usually she could read somepony like a book but something was different about Octavia. There seemed to be more to the cellist than just being a musician. "Well I best be going now my rehearsals start soon." Octavia stated interrupting vinyls thoughts. As she began to trot away Vinyls heart and mind began to race I can't let her go not yet I'll never see her again especially since I made her puke. "WAIT!" Vinyl shouted almost sounding desperate. "Letmemakethisuptoyou.....please" Vinyl shouted all at once. "What do you mean?" Octavia asked who had some how managed to under stand what Vinyl said. "You know like.... Uhhh.... Go partying or something." Vinyl suggested. "You know cause of what happened." "Well that would be nice...but I'm not much of a party pony and, I'm busy all day today." Octavia replied. "How'bout tomorrow. It'll be Friday, and we don't have to party we can do something else. What do you say?" She asked giving Octavia one of her biggest smiles. Octavia thought about it for a moment before giving Vinyl a small gentle smile. "Ok, give me your number." Octavia gave her cellphone to Vinyl. Vinyl typed in her digits in Octavia's phone while typing Octavia's in hers. "Alright I'll see you at 8:00 a clock tomorrow." Vinyl said smiling while levitating Octavia's phone back to her. "For sure." And with that Octavia turned around and trotted away. Vinyl then looked at the number in her phone labeled "Octavia". "Yeah....for sure." Vinyl said to herself before putting her phone away, straightening her glasses, and walking away. .......... Octavia trotted down the street thinking about the white unicorn she was just talking to. "What were you thinking Octavia you can't be friends with her she'll just use you like everypony else." She thought to herself. "But what if she's different." A little voice in the back of her head spoke. "Different, oh please there all the same, they pretend they like me, become friends with me, earn my trust, and actually make me care about them and then BAM!!! As soon as they find out that I can't get them money or put in a good word with my parents they leave me......they....leave me." She stopped walking and looked at the ground and frowned. The voice spoke up again. "Lyra and Bon Bon never left. They didn't even know that your parents were rich." "That is true....but not everypony is like that. I got lucky with them I doubt I'll get lucky again." She thought. "Why not give her a chance." The voice ask. "Because....... I can't relive the feeling of a friends betrayal." "Octavia!!!" A voice yelled snapping her from her thoughts. "Wha?" She then looked around only to find Bon Bon trotting towards her. "Oh hello Bon Bo...." She was interrupted by Bon Bon tackling her into a hug.

She said sheepishly while letting go of Octavia. "For what?" Octavia asked. "For crushing me." She coughed well catching her breath. "Well that and for leaving at the club last night." She said poking at the ground. And like that the events of last night replayed them self in Octavia's head again. If it weren't for them she wouldn't have to be dealing with the unicorn she was supposed to 'hangout' with tomorrow. "Oh yeah" she said as she remembered seeing them walking out the door to the club."Oh yeah!" She repeated furious. "What were you to doing we, were barley there for 10 minutes before you left!" She shouted. "Well actually Lyra was there for an hour before we showed up, and you know I'm kind of a light weight. I'm so sor....." Octavia caught her off. "Sshhhh I know what I said but were not going on a date were just hanging out." Octavia replied as she took her hoof out of BonBon's mouth. BonBon after spitting sort of confused said "Then I don't see what the problem is, if your just hanging out." "The problem is that I don't want another...." Octavia then looked away. "Hey come on you can tell me were friends. Here fallow me let's sit down and you can tell me what's bothering you." BonBon then lead Octavia to sit on a bench. They, then sat down and BonBon began to speak." So what were you saying you don't want another what?" BonBon asked sincerely. "I don't want another pony to be my friend." She said sadly. "Why not it's great to have a bunch of friends and by what I can tell me and Lyra are your only ponies you hangout with." She told Octavia."I think you could use some more friends." "No you don't understand.... I can't have any other friends." Octavia replied. "You can't or you don't want any more friends." She told Octavia. "No, you really don't understand." She then looked up at BonBon, and told her every thing. She told her how they earn her trust and then just leave, how every time they she made a friend in the end they just turn there backs on her when they find out that they can't benefit from her. Every time she meets some pony they think she's rich like her parents, and then when they find out that she's not they leave her feeling hurt and betrayed. "Octavia.....you know me and Lyra would never do that right?"BonBon said sincerely. "I know but...that's the problem...so far in my life you and Lyra are the only ponies I can trust. It's sad but true. I haven't met any other pony who's showed me more friendship than you two and I thank you for that." Octavia then leaned forward to hug BonBon which BonBon gladly accepted. "So what are you going to do?" BonBon asked well retrieving from the hug. "Well I honestly don't know." She replied. "Well why not give her a chance I mean you gave me and Lyra a chance and look how we turned out." BonBon. Said grinning. "Well I suppose it wouldn't hurt." Octavia said scratching her chin. "Hey, who knows maybe your little date will have a happy ending."BonBon said moving her eyebrows up and down. "Oh shush you I already told you it's not a date and besides this mare is....I guess not my type." Octavia said thinking about Vinyl. "What's her name maybe I know her?" BonBon asked curiously. "Her names Vinyl Scratch or what did she say ummmmm.......oh yes DJ-Pon3." Octavia answered. "WHAT!!!!!" BonBon yelled." Your going on a date wit DJ-Pon3!!!!!" BonBon yelled. "BonBon keep your voice down!!!" Octavia shouted in an attempt to quiet her. She looked around luckily they had only caught the attention of a few ponies." One it's not a date, and two why is it a big deal?" Octavia asked. "Why is it a big deal she's as famous as you are!" BobBon yelled excitedly. "Them how come I've never heard of her?" Octavia asked. "Well she's as famous as you when it comes to dubstep and wubs." She replied. "So basically that popular music." She said in a dead tone. "Yeah!!!" BonBon said excitedly. "Oh great." Octavia said frustrated. "What?" BonBon asked confused. "You know I can't stand that type of music BonBon." She replied."Maybe I should cancel." "Oh no you don't." BonBon said. "What?" Octavia asked confused. "A pony like her is just what you need." "I don't fallow." "Look Octavia I don't mean to be mean but let's face it excitement is something that is lacking in your life. So I think you know with the pony like her in your life you could have an exciting life and experience new things do anything." "I don't know BonBon." Octavia said doubtfully. "Come just give her a chance." BonBon pleaded. After thinking for a while Octavia decided hey what could go wrong. "Alright BonBon, but I swear if something bad happens." Octavia warned. "Yaaaa!!! Then quickly but quietly Vinyl stepped inside her apartment, and closed the door behind her. She then took a few steps forward before she heard someone coming out of her room. She hid in her kitchen behind the tiny half broken island, the hoof steps got louder until they stopped in her living room. She poked her head over the counter to get a look at the pony who thought they could break into her house. She couldn't see there face but by the size and shape of the pony she could tell it was a stallion but that was it, it was really dark in her apartment. He looked her way and she ducked down quickly in fear that he saw her, it's not that hard to she a white unicorn with a flashy blue mane in the dark. She took a deep breath before jumping out and screaming like a maniac. "AAAAHHHHH!!!!!" She then landed a punch right on the left side of his head just in the temple within seconds the trespasser went limp and fell to the ground. "HA! No pony sneaks into my house without getting knocked out." Vinyl said grinning, and shaking her right hoof. "Uuuuuhhhhhh." The stallion moaned. "Aaawww what's wrong?" Vinyl teased. "Want me to call your mommy?" The stallion let out an other moan. "Alright who are you?" Vinyl then walked over the the wall with the light switch and flipped it on. After a second of letting her eyes adjust to the light she than looked at the unconscious stallion sprawled out on her floor, and let out a small gasp before speaking. "Oh shit!" She yelled. "Neon are you ok?" She asked with concern she then ran over to help the unconscious Neon Lights. "Neon.....Neon........NEON!!!" Vinyl yelled trying to wake the the stallion who had been unconscious for past hour and a half. "Whuh?" He answered semi conscious. "Well at least it was a response." Vinyl said a little sheepishly "What happened?" He asked now fully awake. "There you go, you ok?" She asked still feeling concerned and a bit guilty. "I'm fine but you didn't answer my question he said rubbing his left temple were Vinyl had punched him. "Well I-I sort of.....may have....knocked you out." She said smiling sheepishly at him. "No kidding! Damn Vinyl what the hell!" He said wincing at the pain on the side of his head. "Hey don't get mad at me you broke in to my house remember?" She asked accusingly. "I didn't break in I came to check on you." He replied well trying to get up. "Why I'm fine?" She asked. "Well for one, you were pretty wasted last night, and two you left with some mare and I wanted to make sure you didn't do anything stupid." He said now fully standing up. "Well i didn't and I'm fine." She said frustrated. "Good at least that make one of us." He said grinning well rubbing his head. "Oh, shut up I said sorry." She giggled. Neon smiled so who is she?" He asked curiously. "Hmmm" "The mare you left with what's her name?" "Oh her name was.....Octavia." She said sighing happily. "Whoooaaaa really?" He asked seeming some what socked in belief. "Yeah, why?" She asked confused. "Wait is she a grey earth pony with a black mane?" He asked. "Yeah how'd you know?" She asked. "Well she's only in the paper every time a big event happens. She's the youngest and In most ponies opinion the best celloest in equestria. Every time there's a big event like weddings, or fancy parties or, even the Grand Galloping Galla ponies alway hire her for music." He replied. "Wow." Was all Vinyl could say. "Wow is the right word. I didn't even know she was a fillyfooler. Guess you found that out all on you own right?" He said winking at Vinyl. "No actually." Vinyl said in a defensive tone. "What? But you left with her every mare you leave with you alway.... Well... You know." He replied shocked. "Well ummm." Vinyl was trying to think of an excuse so she didn't look lame in front of one of her friends. "She was.....uhhhmmmm..... Drunk! Yeah she was drunk I couldn't take advantage of her." "What are you talking about that's never stopped you before. In fact you usually go after the drunk ones go to there place bang them and leave well they sleep." He replied. Having Neon say that made her feel guilty. "Well I don't think she was a fillyfooler." She said thankful she could think if another excuse. "Again, never stopped you before. If you didn't hook up with her then where, were you this morning your not usually up so early?" He asked. "Well I remembered her walking me home but I forgot were I live so she took me to her place. But when we were at her door and she passed out and....." Vinyl stopped because once again she remembered what happened next. Just thinking about it made Vinyl blush, the feeling of Octavia's soft lips....... "Vinyl!" Neon shouted. "What?!" Vinyl looked at him some what startled. "Did you.....screw her in her sleep because I think that considered rape." He stated. "What! No! I didn't rape her!!!!" Vinyl shouted blushing like mad. "Oh... Good you had me worried." He sighed with relief. "So what happened?" "I carried her inside and passed out on her couch. Jeez bro what the hay." Vinyl face hoofed. "So you gonna hook up with her. " he asked mischievously. "I don't know we're hanging out on Friday" Vinyl said walking towards her turntables in her room. "Wait really no way! I thought you said she wasn't a fillyfooler?" He said fallowing her. "She's not were just hanging out." She replied while turning on her turntables. "Were you taking her?" He asked curious. "Club Canterlot." She replied while putting on her headphones. "What!" Neon shouted while ripping off Vinyl's headphones. "Hey what gives?" She asked angrily. "What gives? You can't take a classy mare like that to Club Canterlot." "And why not?" She mumbled. "You really think somepony as classy as her would want her date to take her to 'Club Canterlot'. She said. "One it's not a date, and two why do care." Vinyl asked. "I care because I think you like her." He said teasingly. "I do not!" She said defensively. "If you didn't care then why did you ask her to 'hangout' with you?" He asked. Vinyl opened her mouth to protest but just sighed. "Huuuuuhhhh, fine you win but I don't like her that much." She pouted. "So your telling me if she never wanted to see you again, you wouldn't care?" He asked. Vinyl remained silent for a moment but didn't protest to what Neon said. "Fine I'll take her somewhere nice." She said putting her headphones back on. "So were you taking her?" He asked while walking out the door. "I'll think of something." She replied with a grin. "Good luck." He said while closing the door. "Don't need it." She replied as she began to practice her set.

Of course like many ponies Octavia and Vinyl were still sleeping. However Octavia had to get up at seven thirty in the morning, were Vinyl on the other hoof wasn't going to be awake for quite a while, she probably wouldn't wake up until her little date with Octavia. Vinyl knew it wasn't a date. But she kinda wished it was, but thought better of it knowing that her 'friend' Octavia probably wasn't into mares. Is that all they'll ever be....just friends. Celestia knows Vinyl wanted to be more than 'just friends' with Octavia but she would never admit it, at least not out loud. She also knew that if she didn't make a move with Octavia she would be friend zoned. But for now Vinyl wasn't worried about that right now she was happily dreaming Octavia on the other hoof was having a nightmare. ••••••••• "Hello!" Octavia called unaware that she was dreaming."HELLO!" She called again louder. "*sniff,sniff*." Octavia looked around only to see a small grey filly crying. "Hello." She called. The little filly then looked at Octavia and ran away. "Wait! Come back!" She called chasing after the filly, who kept running. "I just want to talk!" She yelled. "NO! Your just going to make me cry again, like you always do!" The filly yelled in frustration. After the little filly said that they both came across a wall. Octavia had finally cornered the filly. "Please let me help you, where are your parents a little filly like you shouldn't be out here all by you're lonesome." Octavia asked in concern. The little filly completely ignored her as if she couldn't hear her anymore. "Please mum, I am so very sorry please don't lock me in my room by myself!." The filly begged on the verge of tears again. "What are you talking abo..." Octavia stopped talking. She finally got a look at the grey fillies face ,and in shock took a few steps back. The little filly was none other than her. "This can't be...I-I-I...." She was cut off by an all too familiar, and yet terrifying voice. "That! My daughter is exactly what I am going to do! How dare you try to run off like that! When I say come here you listen! Do you know how bad you just made me look in front of the princess!!!" Octavia's mother yelled. "I'm sorry mother I-I...." The filly Octavia stammered before her mother cut her off. "This is the last time I take you anywhere do you hear me young lady, in fact you are not to leave your room until your father gets home!" She yelled at the poor defenseless filly. "But he won't be home for weeks, and I hate being alone, please mother." She begged. "That is plenty of time for you to think about what you've done." She replied. Watching this ordeal happen was none other than Octavia she was watching the day she had tried to runaway, but failed. "LEAVE HER ALONE!!!" Octavia yelled tears running down her face. Octavia's mothers head snapped towards her. "You." She hissed. "You're no better." She said bitterly. "After all this is you only 12 years ago!" She spat. "You were always weak, and you still are." "NO! I-I....." Before she could finish she was cut off by her mother. "See you still stammer like a little filly too, you always needed me you could never make it on your own." She teased Octavia. "Your wrong!" Octavia yelled. "Am I? Then tell me this. Why is it every time you need bits I send you a check? Hmmm?" She asked. "I-I..." Octavia tried to control her stuttering." I never asked you to!" Octavia yelled back. "And I don't need you to....." "If you don't need me to then how come every time you get them you cash them? Hmmm you could always rip them up." "I-I-I Don't know I..." "Face it!" Octavia's mother was now walking towards Octavia forcing her to back up into a corner. "If it weren't for me you would be on the streets!!! You will never be a winner in my eyes you'll always be a failure, I will never love you!!!" She yelled in a more monstrous tone. "No! Stop leave me alone!" Octavia begged now crying uncontrollably. "And to top it all off your a fillyfooler!" She yelled again. "Please mother, STOP!" Octavia begged. "WHAT'S WRONG OCTAVIA!!!!" She yelled now in the form of some monstrous shadow." DO YOU WANT YOUR MOMMY!!!" It yelled now charging towards Octavia at full speed. "I'M RIGHT HERE!!!!" "Nooooooooo!!!!" Octavia jammed her eyes shut waiting for death to arrive. Fortunately death was taking an awful long time Octavia slowly and reluctantly opened her eyes only to see Princess Luna standing in front of the monstrous shadow. Using her magic to fight it off and causing it to retreat. "Are you okay Octavia?" Luna asked helping Octavia stand back up. "Princess Luna what are you doing here? Am I dead?" Octavia asked her fear in her voice. Luna giggled. "No Octavia you are dreaming, but I think most ponies would agree with me when I say this was a nightmare." Luna replied. "Oh, so your not real, none of this is real, oh thank goodness." Octavia sighed. "Aaaahh, But I am very much real Octavia, as Princess of the night it is my duty to protect my citizens not just in reality but in there dreams as well." Luna explained. "Oh....great."Octavia muttered. "Why are you so afraid of your mother?" Luna asked in a sincere tone. "I am not afraid of my mother!." Octavia shouted. "Oh....I think your dream, or nightmare would prove otherwise." Luna replied. "I-I....just want my parents to love me."Octavia said on the verge of tears. "Your parents do love you, well your father at least." Luna said. Octavia looked away. "Well....he didn't really play the whole father figure role, he never yelled at me but he never showed me any affection either." Octavia said in a sad tone. "Tell me do you care what your father thinks of you?" Luna asked. "Not really no. He's never really judged me on anything. When I got my cutie mark he smiled, and was happy for me, it was the only time I ever saw that spark in his eyes as if he actually was proud of me." Octavia Replied smiling a little. "And your mother?" Luna asked again. Octavia's smile disappeared and turned into a frown. "Her reaction was different." She said avoiding eye contact with Luna. "How?" "Well....unlike my father she frowned, and told me how useless my talent was and that I would never amount to much, and not to get my hopes up." Octavia replied showing no emotion. "She always criticized me on...well...everything!" "Octavia, even though you don't know it you are going to be a very successful pony." Luna assured. "Ha, try telling that to my mother." She said half heartedly. "Octavia, if you don't care about what your mother thinks then why won't you let yourself be happy."Luna asked. "What? You mean making friends? Well you are in my head you should know why I don't really expand my circle when it comes to friends." Octavia replied. "Yes, I do. But I also know that you have two very loving friends." Luna stated. "Yeah, well thier different." Octavia said. "You do know not all ponies are bad, there are good ponies." Luna said "How do you know?" Octavia asked. "I don't you simply just have to look at a pony and most of the time you can tell whether there bad or not." Luna answered. Octavia sighed. "Oh and Octavia don't worry about being a fillyfooler." Luna assured. "I am not a fillyfooler!" Octavia said defensively. "Well whatever the circumstances, don't change yourself into somepony you're not just to be loved." Luna said. "What about you would you change yourself to be loved. "Octavia asked. Luna spread her wings preparing to take off. Luna then looked at Octavia and smiled. "I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not." With that Luna flew away and disappeared into the black space around them, and within a few seconds, Octavia woke to the sound of her alarm clock.

Vinyl slowly got up and opened her eyes, after a minute of letting all her senses come back, she looked at the alarm clock next to her bed that would reveal the time being 2:45pm. She then stood up and walked to the bathroom to take a shower. She turned on the water and stepped in only to jump back out seconds later. "COLD!" Vinyl yelled her voice still raspy from not being used for a number of hours. Why is it so cold? Vinyl thought to herself before remembering something important she had forgotten days ago. "The gas bill." She stated. "Oh no, oh no, oh no,oh no, ooh nooo!" She yelled while running torwards the kitchen. She then looked at the the piece of paper taped to the fridge,Vinyl read aloud,"Manehatten gas company. 50 bits due by Friday at approximately 1:30pm." After reading the bill Vinyl then threw the paper onto the ground and rubbed her temples. She took a deep breath in, and out. "Ok..."Vinyl said,"It's ok." Then all of a sudden Vinyl remembered something else. Wait....It's Friday? Vinyl began to smile before shouting. "Yay!!! I get to hangout with Octy today!" Vinyl was as energetic as a filly, then again when is she not? Then all of a sudden she stopped in mid jump. "Wait, I'm hanging out with Octy today." Vinyl then began to panic. "Aaahh! Do I look ok does my breath stink, do I stink! And who am I talking to?" Vinyl looked around and saw no pony. "I guess myself." She then ran back to the bathroom and into the shower. "Still cold! Ahhhhhhh suck it up, suck it up." After a quick shower she jumped out of the bathroom and ran out the door, but stopped she walked back inside and looked at the clock which read 3:00pm. "Oops I guess I got too excited, I don't need to leave for another four hours." She said sheepishly. It was then, Vinyl decided to go, and get some breakfast, even though it was late afternoon, so I guess that it would be considered lunch....yeah that sounds right, Vinyl decided to go get some lunch. "Hmmm a daisy sandwich sounds really good right about now." Vinyl said aloud. She then walked out of her small, cramped, and dirty apartment to go to one of her favorite restaurants. ••••••••••• It was 7:00pm and Octavia was sitting in her living room. She had no rehearsals today because, well it was Friday and everypony had things to do. Most of it being party related. So Octavia sat in her living room with her good friend Lyra. Lyra was Octavia's friend, and BonBon's marefriend. Lyra was actually the pony who introduced her to BonBon they've all known each other for about a year now. Octavia then looked up at Lyra and spoke. "Lyra is everything alright?" She asked. "Yeah why?" Lyra asked. "Well, it's just...you haven't touched your tea, is something wrong?" Octavia asked with concern. "No! It's just....how am I supposed to pick this up without hands?" Lyra asked confused. Octavia then face hoofed. "Lyra." Octavia sighed. "You're a unicorn, use your magic....and what are hands?" She asked confused. "I don't feel like explaining it, if you're anything like BonBon then you won't get it." Lyra replied. "Ok...so..." Octavia then looked at the way Lyra was sitting. "Lyra isn't sitting like that uncomfortable?" Octavia asked her. "Not really." Lyra replied. "So BonBon told me you have a date with somepony, some mare to be exact." "Not this again." Octavia groaned. "It's not a date we're just hanging out." "So who is it?" Lyra asked excitedly. "Wait you don't know? Didn't BonBon tell you?" Octavia asked confused. "No she said that I would want to hear it from you because I'm a big fan of them. So who is it Sapphire Shores?" Lyra squeed. "No, it's DJ Pon-3." Octavia mumbled. "What? Octavia come on I can't hear you." Lyra complained. "It's....well....her name is...." Octavia struggled to get the words out. "For Celestia's sake say it!" Lyra yelled impatiently. Octavia took a deep breathe before speaking. "Her name is DJ Pon-3." Octavia finally answered. The volume at which Lyra yelled was enough to make Octavia's ears ring. "OH MY GOD YOU'RE DATING DJ PON-3!!!! YOU ARE THE LUCKIEST PONY ALIVE....." Octavia shoved her hoof into her Lyra's mouth like she had with BonBon. "Why is it that you and BonBon freak out when I say her name?.....and we are not dating!" Octavia replied. "Ommfffddddrrrr." Lyra mumbled with Octavia's hoof still in her mouth. "Right, sorry." Octavia apologized after removing her hoof from Lyra's mouth. "Thank you. Oh, and what are you two going to be doing?" Lyra asked beaming with excitement. "Well, I don't know we're meeting at the cafe I usually go to at 8:00." Octavia answered. "Isn't it like a ten minute walk from your house?" Lyra asked. "Yes, it's not that far." Octavia replied. "Yeah but you said, you two were meeting at 8:00." Lyra said. "Yes." Octavia replied while raising her right eyebrow. "Well, it's 7:30." Lyra said. "What?!" Octavia then looked at the clock that read 7:30pm. "Well I better be going then, you don't mind do you?" Octavia asked with concern. "Of course not, have fun. Tomorrow BonBon and I want to hear all about it." Lyra said smiling. "Ok." Octavia chuckled. "Let yourself out whenever you want to leave." Octavia said while opening the door. "Ok have fun." Lyra said happily. Octavia sighed. "Huuuuuh, I'm going to need it." She sighed "Let's get this over with." She groaned before closing the door and leaving.

She had spent the morning before today at with a very odd pony. She'd been waiting for three minutes,then again she had gotten there early. Right when she was about to sit down she heard an all too familiar voice calling her name, well more like her new nick name given by a certain unicorn. "Hey Octy, what's up?!"Vinyl, asked happily while skipping towards Octavia. "Hello Vinyl." Octavia greeted. She walked towards Vinyl to shake her hoof but instead was met by Vinyl giving her a hug. Instead of pulling away like she normally would she embraced her back. She loved the feeling of Vinyl's coat. She was amazed by how soft it was. Realizing she had been lost in thought and, was hugging Vinyl a bit too long for it to be considered appropriate, well at least in her mind. Pulling back Octavia blushed lightly giving Vinyl an awkward smile hoping she wouldn't notice. When she looked at the DJ it seemed that she had also been trying to hide her blush, but to no avail. It must be hard to hide a blush when your coat is as white as snow. Vinyl looked at Octavia giving her a big grin hoping she hadn't notice she had gotten lost in thought during the hug. Vinyl was glad she was wearing her signature shades or Octavia would've seen more of her blush. They both stood there in awkward silence. Usually Vinyl was the one to break the silence but she couldn't think of anything that would peek the cellist interest. Starting to panick Vinyl tried to think of something to say anything. "Is it hot out here or is just me?" Vinyl thought. "Come on Vinyl say something anything!" She thought. The silence was getting painfully awkward. too awkward for either of them to handle. "So....where shall we be heading this evening?" Octavia asked breaking the tension that was built out of nowhere. "Well I was thinking since you're more of a classy mare..." "Yes?" "...and I'm the opposite of that...." "Yeeess?" "Maybe we could compromise?" Vinyl asked "Alright what do you suppose we do?" Octavia asked. "Well....how about drinking." Vinyl suggested "Hmmm....I don't know last time I went drinking I woke up with some strange mare in my living room. Octavia joked. "Come on please. I promise I won't fall asleep on your couch." Vinyl said. "So what do you say?" "You know what...I'm feeling bold...alright let's go drinking." Octavia said. "Yaaaaay!" Vinyl cheered "But I get to pick the place." Octavia said. "Aaaaawww!" Vinyl wined. "Can you promise it won't be at a place that's too fancy?" Vinyl asked. Octavia looked at Vinyl studying her. Alright, foallow me." Octavia told Vinyl. They both began to walk down the street, vinyl occasionally glancing torwards Octavia. "Wow" Vinyl thought. "She's so pretty, and when I was hugging her she smelt so nice. I've never had a crush on a mare, but I've never had a crush on a stallion either." After a few minutes of walking Octavia, had led the two of them to a bar. It wasn't the most extravagant place in Canterlot, but is wasn't a wild night club, or run down bar, it was your average looking building. "Alright, this doesn't look so bad." Vinyl said as she walked torwards the building. Octavia smiled and fallowed her inside. When they entered the establishment It wasn't empty, but it want full either. There was an exceptional amount of noise going on it wasn't too loud to the point that you had to shout to talk to the pony next to you, but it wasn't too quiet too where you had to whisper to not cause a lot of commotion. It was your average looking bar. They both sat at a booth since most stools at the bar were taken, they sat In the back were there was less commotion. As soon as they sat down a waiter came to take their order. "What can I get you two ladies tonight?" He said in a nice tone, despite His voice being deep and raspy. "I'll take a beer." Vinyl said. "And I a glass of white wine." Octavia added. "Coming right up." The stallion said before turning around to leave. "Soooo, how long have you lived in Canterlot?" Vinyl asked. "Well I move here when I was 18 so two years." Octavia answered. "How about you?" She asked. "I moved here when I was 16 sooo, four years." Vinyl answered. "When's your birthday?" Vinyl asked. "When's your birthday!" Vinyl thought. "Wow this conversation started out good." "Uummm, my birthday?" Octavia questioned. "Yeah." Vinyl answered. "Ok....my birthday is November 25, 1994. Octavia answered. "Very funny now when's your birthday?" Vinyl giggled. Octavia raised her right eyebrow. "Oh your seriouse." Vinyl said shocked. "Why, what's with my birthday?" Octavia questioned. "Nothing it's just...that's my birthday." Vinyl answered. "Well...that's certainly a coincidence...."before Octavia could finish Vinyl interrupted her. "That...is...awesome!!!" Vinyl exclaimed. "I've never met anypony with the same birthday as me before!" Vinyl said excitedly. "Neither have I." Octavia said giggling at her friends excitement. "It certainly is something." Just then the waiter came back to serve them their drinks. "Your drinks ladies." He said politely before turning around walking away. "I should let you know Vinyl, I don't plan on drinking a whole lot tonight I don't want a repeat of last time." Octavia said giggling. Vinyl froze she didn't know what to do. "Oh, no!" Vinyl thought. "What if she remembered what happened on wednesday, when I accidentally kissed her!" "Vinyl? Are you alright?"Octavia asked. "Huh? Oh, yeah totally!" She said smiling trying not to look worried. "But....could you explain what happens last time I don't remember?" Vinyl lied. "Well, yeah you had to carry me into my home no?" Octavia said. Vinyl exhaled and sighed in relief. "Yeah that's totally what happened." Vinyl replied happily. "Right?" Octavia said while raising an eye brow. "What was that about?" Octavia thought. "Any who....cheers! To good friends!" Octavia said while smiling. "Yeah!" Vinyl said. "To good friends."she whispered disappointed. They both then took a gulp of their drink. Vinyl gulp her beer down and looked over to Octavia who had downed her wine. "Wow Octavia, you just downed your whole drink." Vinyl said amazed. "Well what can I say they barely put any in there." Octavia said while waving the waiter who had taken their order earlier. "Sure, I bet you’re just looking for an excuse to get drunk." Vinyl stated while taking a drink of her beer. "Not true...ok maybe a little I just want to unwind so....sue me." Octavia chuckled. "Can I get you anything miss?" The stallion asked. "Yes, could you bring me four beers? And two shots of scotch for me and my friend?" Octavia asked politely. "Coming right up." The stallion said smiling while walking away. "Scotch? Isn't that a little expensive?" Vinyl asked. "Not really, here it cost the same as the beer you’re drinking." Octavia answered. "Really?! How much does the beer cost?" "Two bits per bottle, and two bits per shot." Octavia answered. "Wow, is it good scotch or like crappy scotch? "Why don't you find out for yourself." Octavia chuckled, while the stallion placed the bottles of beer on the table and poured their shot. He turned to leave but Octavia stopped him. "Could you leave the bottle?" Octavia asked. The stallion placed the bottle of scotch on the table and left. "Well let's get wasted!" Vinyl said chugging the rest of her beer. "You can get wasted Vinyl I plan on drinking only two shots and one beer." Octavia stated pouring her, and Vinyl a shot. •••••••••• About 4 beers and 7 shots each later. Vinyl and Octavia sat in the booth. They weren't drunk but were fairly buzzed. "So, Vinyl I,I must ask.....why Canterlot?" Octavia asked. "Hmmm, what you talkin bout?" Vinyl said confused. "Well your a disk jockey, and-....." "Wait I'm a DJ!" Vinyl said. "I know a disk jockey." Octavia said. "Wait...disk....jockey.....D......J....ooooohhh ok continue." Vinyl said smiling. Octavia looked at strangely and thenm spoke. "As I was saying you’re a....DJ, so why would you move to Canterlot? Isn't dub step or wubs more popular in Manehatten, or Ponyville,or Los Pegasus?" Octavia asked. "Well.....technically yes but that's why I moved here. See when I was doing a gig in Manehatten a producer heard my music and wanted to promote it. He said he wanted to take my wubs to Canterlot. At first I thought 'Are you kidding me those ponies hate my music.' But then he said 'that's the point! Your wubs are so good that if you could make them popular in Canterlot you'll be the best DJ who ever lived!" "I see but you've lived here for 4 years and I never heard of you." Octavia replied. "Well duh i barely started playing gigs here about a year and a half ago." Vinyl explained "Why wait so long?" Octavia asked. "Well the money had to come from some where so I got a job, got a few gigs in small places nothing big, I did this until I had enough bits to promote myself. Then one day when I had enough my manager booked me a gig at club Canterlot, and now I'm one of their permanent DJ's for now. But since I've been here a lot of ponies have been enjoying wubs. I like to think I had something to do with that." Vinyl explained proudly. "Well I think your wubs have been increasing lately." Octavia said. "So, what about you?" Vinyl asked taking another sip of beer. "I beg your pardon?" Octavia said quirking an eyebrow. "You know, what's your back story?" Vinyl said smiling. Octavia thought for a moment. "Well there's not much to tell. I moved to Canterlot when I was 18. It's always been my dream to be lead cellist in the royal Canterlot symphony. I'm not quite there yet, but right now I'm in a small Quartet." Octavia said. "Wow your parents must be proud." Vinyl said smiling. "What did you say!" Octavia yelled. "Hey, all I said was your parents must be proud." Vinyl said defensively. Octavia began to well up with tears. "I can't believe this!" Octavia thought. "She's using me!" "Tavi, are okay?" Vinyl asked in concern. "STAY THE BUCK AWAY FROM ME!!!" Octavia yelled in rage. She then stood up and ran out the bar. "Octavia wait!!!" Vinyl yelled. She then got up and ran after Octavia. "I can't lose her!"Vinyl thought as she ran down the street hot on Octavia's trail."I can't let her go! I'll never see her again!"Vinyl thought her eyes beginning to tear up.

Octavia was running blinded by her tears and her anger. I can't believe she would do this to me! Octavia thought angrily. Many ponies would have thought that Octavia had over reacted but she and Vinyl were drunk so....well you know how it is. "Octavia wait!" Vinyl yelled as loud as she could, but to no avail. "Come back!" Octavia ran Down the street and turned the corner, she then ducked into an alleyway, and hid behind a trash can. "Whoo." Octavia exhaled relieved she had lost Vinyl. "Well." She sniffed. "I better get home." She exited the other side of the alley, only to be tackled by the unicorn seconds later. "Gotcha!" Vinyl exclaimed while tackling Octavia to the ground. "Get off me!" Octavia yelled. "No way! Why did you leave me?" Vinyl asked. But Octavia just kept yelling. "You're just like the rest!" She cried. "What?" Vinyl said beyond confused at this point. "Look!" Octavia said as she pushed Vinyl off of her. "I can't get you any connections with my parents, so your wasting your time." Octavia explained as she started walking home. "Octy, what are you talking about?" "They don't even like wubs any way, they're more into traditional music so classical and only classical!" Octavia snarled at the thought of her mother. "Octy, I still don't know what your talking about." Vinyl said still confused. It was then Octavia realized that maybe, Vinyl didn't know who Octavia's parents were. (Quick author's note. I'm 14 I've never consumed alcohol and have never seen intoxicated people fight so I'm improvising here.) "You mean you're not just hanging out with me just because of my parents wealth." Octavia asked. "Octy, I didn't even know who you were until my friend told me you were famous and even then I didn't care. I just wanted to hang with you." Vinyl said smiling. Octavia's cheeks were now a reasonable shade of pink. "How do I know you're not lying?" Octavia asked with a little bit of doubt. "Octavia." Vinyl said very seriously. "I know that we only met like three days ago, and that drunken night doesn't really count, but I would Never hurt you." Octavia replied Vinyl's words in her head trying to find something in her voice that said otherwise. But found nothing but sincerity. She would have searched Vinyl's eyes but it proved to be rather hard with those glasses on. Why is she even wearing those in the middle of the night? Octavia pushed the thought aside being too drunk to really care about it. She then realized the scene she must have caused back at the bar. "Oh, boy do I feel rather embarrassed." Octavia chuckled. "It's ok." Vinyl said with a drunk smile. "Come on let's get you home it's like 12:30 am" Vinyl said while helping Octavia up. "It that lait already?" Octavia asked. "Yeah so come......" "Hold on just a second." Octavia interupted. "Huh?" Vinyl questioned. "The nights still young!" Octavia exclaimed. "Let's go to one of those clubs! I've never been before!" Octavia said exitedly. Vinyl thought about it for a moment. Hmmmm, a few more drinks couldn't hurt right? Vinyl asked herself. She then looked up at a smiling Octavia. "Well how can I say no to that." Vinyl said happily. "Excellent let's go!" Octavia said trotting in the wrong direction. Vinyl giggled. "Umm, Octy the clubbing district is this way." "I knew that!" Octavia said while turning to the right direction. "This is going to be fun." Vinyl laughed while following Octavia. ••••••• Two Hours Later "Whoo hoooo!" Octavia shouted drunkenly, well Vinyl helped her out if the club. "Hey Vinyl , were are we going?" Octavia asked as she wobbled down the street. "Home, were else." Vinyl said well smiling drunkly. "Aaaaawwww! But whyyyyy!" Octavia wined. "Because it's like two in the morning." Vinyl laughed. "And don't you have rehearsal in a few hours?" "Nope it's Saturday! So I'm free!" Octavia yelled well spinning in circles. "Okay, okay....So weres your house I forgot were it was?" Vinyl asked. "Ummmm...." Octavia looked around but nine of the signs or buildings looked familiar. Were is my house? She thought. Ohh yeah were in the clubbing district. "Ummmmm, I don't know, none of these building look familiar." Octavia said. "Hmmmm." Vinyl looked around. Let's see, Oak tree street? Ha I live a block from here!Vinyl thought. "Come on Octy, you'll crash at my place!" Vinyl said exitedly. "Are you sure? I wouldn't want to intrude." Octavia said. "Nah is cool. Besides I owe you remember?" "I supose." Octavia replied. "Then fallow me!" Vinyl said well trotting down the street, with Octavia fallowing close behind. Vinyl is so nice. Octavia thought. And...pretty. I wonder what it's like to kiss somepony. I wonder what it's like to kiss Vinyl. Octavia them immediately stopped her train of thought. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What am I thinking, this is Vinyl. Besides she's probably straight. Right? Octavia asked herself. It wouldn't hurt to find out. Octavia trotted up beside Vinyl. She glanced at Vinyl to see her face, her beautiful, soft, face. Aaahhhh stop it Octavia! She scolded herself. "We're here!" Vinyl said happily. "Let's get inside." They both walked inside her house to be met with a mild mess the house wasnt as dirty as Octavia thought it would be but there were some empty potato chip bags on the floor and half eaten pizza boxes spread out but otherwise it was semi clean. "Where do I sleep?" Octavia asked. "Umm." Vinyl looked around. Hmmm I can't let her sleep on the couch, I haven't cleaned it since.......I've never cleaned it.....gross. "Vinyl ?" "Hmm-what?" "Where do I sleep?" Octavia giggled. "Jee your really out of it." "Oh ummm, you can sleep in my room." Vinyl said. "But then where will you sleep?" Octavia asked. "Uuuhhh...." Vinyl looked at the pizza, and soda stained couch. Meh, can't be that bad. "I'll sleep on the couch." Vinyl said. "Oh I couldn't do that to you after all this is your house." Octavia replied. "I'll sleep on the couch." "No! Trust me you don't want to sleep on that couch it's........gross." Vinyl said. "Well them I can't let you sleep on there." Octavia thought for a moment. "Come sleep with me." Octavia offered. "Wha-what?!" Vinyl asked cheeks now a noticeably shade of pink. "Yeah! Sleep next to we're both grown mares here no big." Octavia said smiling drunkly still. "Oh! Whoo, ok then." Vinyl said. Vinyl led them to her room very nerviously. Her room wasn't exactly the cleanest place in equestria. Please don't be a mess, please don't be a mess! Vinyl thought. When they walked into Vinyl's room they were met by a room filled empty and half empty energy drinks, pizza slices, a chip, trash, and glow stick covered floor. Not to mention a pile in the far left comer of her room that looked a like a blob of clothes and mud, but it was moving. "Well your room certainly is........interesting. Octavia said. "If by interesting you mean gross then yes." Vinyl responded. Octavia didn't reply she just walked to the bed and crawled under the covers Vinyl doing the same. "Goodnight Octy." Vinyl said "Goodnight Vinyl ." Octavia replied. Vinyl then drifted off into slumber. But Octavia was still awake, left alone in her thoughts.

Admiring her beautiful electric blue mane, her smooth looking face. She took in each and every one of the mare's features, from her jaw line, to her cute muzzle. But there was one thing in the way of her flawless face.......her big round purple glasses. Why is she still wearing those? Octavia thought to herself. It was then that Octavia realized that she hasn't even seen Vinyl without those silly glasses. Surely she wouldn't mind if I took them off her for her. She probably would be more comfortable anyway. Octavia then reached over, and slowly took Vinyl's glasses off. She stared at Vinyl's closed eyes, admiring her long eyelashes. "She's beautiful." Octavia breathed, causing the white sleeping angel before her to stir. "Hhmm Octy? What are you doing?" Vinyl asked as she sat up. Her eyes are red. Octavia thought. There so incredible! "Octy!?" Vinyl whispered harshly. "What the heck are you doing?" "Why do you like me?" Octavia asked. Vinyl's heart froze. How did she find out?!?! "wha-what do mean?" Vinyl stuttered. "I mean there are hundreds of ponies who you could have been friends with. So why did you choose me?" Octavia asked. Vinyl, looked at Octavia. After a minute or two Vinyl spoke. "Well I don't know, you just seemed like a nice pony." And the fact that you're the most beautiful mare I've ever seen! "Vinyl.....can I try something crazy? Well crazy to me at least. Octavia asked not losing eye contact with Vinyl for a second. "Uuuhh.....s-sure." Vinyl said nervously. "What are you gonna d-" she was then cut off by Octavia smashing her lips into hers. "Hhhmm!?"Vinyl said into Octavia's lips before closing her eyes and slowly losing herself in the kiss. Vinyl wrapped her hooves around Octavia's waist, while Octavia wrapped her hooves around Vinyl's neck. There lips were so soft, and the way they moved was in perfect harmony......they were losing themselves in their kiss. Vinyl slowly slid her tongue across Octavia's bottom lip asking for permission. Octavia happily obliged. The feeling of Vinyl's tongue on Octavia's was mind blowing. Unfortunately like all good the things in Octavia's life the kiss had to end when they both realized that ponies need oxygen. They both reluctantly pulled away from each other. Vinyl stared into Octavia's eyes looking for some sort of answer for what just happened. "Octy....do....will you...does this mean like me?" Vinyl asked nervously. Octavia looked straight at Vinyl. Did she like Vinyl? What would my friends think? Who am I kidding they'd be jumping for joy. What would mother think? Octavia was deep in thought. She looked deep into Vinyl's eyes, and for once in her life she made a big decision, without her mother. And it was the best thing that ever happened to her. "Yes" Octavia said a smile on her lips. "Really?" Vinyl asked hoping she wasn't joking. Octavia leaned over and pecked her on the lips. "Really." Octavia replied before resting her head on Vinyls chest, and falling asleep. Vinyl stared at the beautiful mare laying on her chest. This is nice.....Vinyl is nice....Life is nice, I hope I made the right decision. And besides If this is wrong, I don't want to be right.Octavia thought happily. Well....Vinyl thought. I'm in love.

Her name was Vinyl, Vinyl Scratch, and she was lying down passed out from a party she had attended. She was born and raised in Ponyville, but some how convinced her parents to let her move to Canterlot when she was 16 to pursue her life long dream of becoming a DJ. Vinyl was popular but not to popular to the point were ponies were begging for her autograph every were she went, well at least not yet. Her name was Vinyl Scratch but most ponies knew her as DJ-Pon3!!!To her she had a perfect life, full of life and adventure, but mostly excitement she couldn't get enough excitement. Vinyl works as a DJ, disk-jockey. Her usual place of work is at a club in Canterlot called club Canterlot. Her idea of a good time is playing music and drinking with her freind and just plain chilling. Vinyl woke up earlier than she usually would. Four hours earlier to be exact." What the buck it's 6:30. Did I sleep all day?" Then she noticed that the clock said 6:30AM. "Uuuuuhhh!!! Why am i awake so early!!!"she said to her self as she tried to go back to bed. But something was wrong she couldn't. She kept tossing and turning in her sleep. "Oh Celestia kill me pleeaassee!!!!" So out of sheer will power Vinyl found the strength to climb out of bed and make her self breakfast. Exempt for one little problem, she had no idea how to cook. Usually she'd go over to a friends house and eat whatever they had but unfortunately that was during lunch witch was usually around 12:00PM, so completely out of options she grabbed a few bits off her counter and headed out the door praying that some type of restraunt, or cafe was open. ------- She was a an earth pony with an ash grey coat and charcoal black mane. Her name was Octavia, Octavia Melody, and by now she was already awake practicing her cello. She looked at the clock. 6:00AM. She desisted to practice for a little longer. Like Vinyl Octavia moved to Canterlot to, but she moved when she was 18, and she was born in manehaten. Again like Vinyl she moved to Canterlot to persue her life long dream of becoming a famous musician. But unlike Vinyl, Octavia was more into classical music. She had friends and although they were all about the same age as her you could tell Octavia was much more sophisticated than her friends were. Octavia works as a soloist, she performs in many places playing her cello. Her idea of a good time was relaxing at home listening to some classical music with a cup of tea. She doesn't mind having friends join her but they often get to bored and leave. So for the most part Octavia was alone. As Octavia played her last note of her piece, she held the note out nice and long. Octavia let the note die out as she exhaled, then set down her bow. She carefully placed her cello back into its case making sure not to do any damage. Then she trotted down stairs to her kitchen to make some breakfast. She had many things to choose from things such as apple, strawberries, cheese, carrots, and pancake mix. For a moment she considered making pancakes but then a sudden rush of laziness over came her. Maybe I should just go out and eat she thought to herself. "Wait a second why in equestria would I go wast bits on food when I have plenty right here!" She grabbed the pancake mix and as she was about to open it, another sudden rush of laziness hit her. "Uuuuuhhhh" she groaned as she grabbed several bits and walked out the door hoping there was a restraunt or a small cafe open.

It wasn't really a long walk Octavia lived fairly close to the cafe. Usually for a pony with a hangover as bad as Vinyls the sun would cause a really bad headache. But not this time Vinyl had on her signature shades. As they were walking she looked at Octavia. Octavia didn't notice mostly because it was hard to tell because of the glasses."she seems like a nice pony." Vinyl thought. "She has a nice bowtie, nice mane, nice face, nice flank. No don't think like that you dirty pony." Vinyl said trying to shake the thoughts from her head. She then looked away from Octavia and kept walking. As Octavia was walking with Vinyl to the cafe were they had first met, she noticed Vinyl slightly looking tords her. "Is she staring me?....No, is she? it's rather hard to tell with those glasses." Octavia thought to herself. She then saw Vinyl look away. "Oh no did she catch me staring." She thought to herself again. "Look we're here!" Vinyl said excitedly. As they began to walk in Vinyl walked ahead of Octavia, and she couldn't help but notice Vinyls rather nice looking flank. "Octavia what are you doing that is not appropriate!" She thought to herself. "She probably doesn't even like mares. I'm not sure if even I like mares enough to date one, and besides I can't date her she one of those wild good for nothing hoodlum." At least that's what Octavia thought at the time. Octavia wasn't a full on fillyfooler but had been attracted to mares in the past. She never really liked stallions. She thought they were rude, messy, and gross. They walked up to cafe Octavia really wanted to sit down inside rather than sitting outside. Vinyl didn't care because she had her shades to protect her from her hangover. Octavia on the other hand, that is a different story she had massive headache and she didn't need the sun making it worse even if it was early. As they sat down the waitress who had taken there order the morning before was walking up to them. "May I take your..."she stopped her smile quickly left her face." You two aren't going to fight again are you?" She asked a bit nervous. "Nah." Vinyl said answering her question. "Good. So what can I get you?" She asked smiling again. "I'll have the strawberry crepes." Octavia said smiling at the waitress. "Pancakes please!!!" Vinyl shouted a bit to loudly making Octavia's head throb. "Coming up I'll be back with your food."the waitress then walked away. "Ummm Vinyl could you tone down your volume a bit?" Octavia asked a little irritated "Sorry forgot you have a hangover they don't really last that long for me, you know being a DJ you have to be able to bounce back you know?" Vinyl asked sheepishly. "I....I guess so?" Octavia replied rubbing her temples. "Unless you know. I'm like totally wasted I'm talking about, you start partying in Los Pegasus, and you wake up in manehatten and you don't know what the buck happened drunk!!!" She yelled with enthusiasm. "Vinyl plea...." Vinyl cut Octavia off. "And your hurling in the toilet aaallllllll day long!!!!! "Vinyl please sto...." Cut off again. "And you know when your hurling and at one point you can like really really taste it and it comes out your nose oh ma....." This time she was cut off by Octavia running over to the nearest trash can and puking her guts out. "HAAAARRRR!!!!!!" "Oops sorry guess I forgot you had a hangover my bad." Vinyl said sheepishly. "Uhhh my stomach...." Octavia said as she walked back to the table. "Here drink this." Vinyl commanded. "What is it?" She asked worried. "Relax. It's just coffee." Vinyl said smiling. "Oh...thank you." Octavia said. "No prob." Vinyl said still smiling. Octavia picked up the mug, with her hooves of course she is an earth pony after all. She then gracefully took a sip before place ing it back down, and dabbing her mouth with a napkin. She then looked up to see Vinyl starring at her. "What?" Octavia asked Vinyl who was still staring. "Vinyl?" She called the DJ's name, but still no response. Octavia turned around to see what she was starring at but there was nothing. It was as of Vinyl was starring at her. "Wait is she.....no" Octavia thought to herself. "Look at Octavia she's actually kind of pretty. Ok really pretty. Wait why am I making googoo eyes at her. I don't even like her what's happening to me. Stop starring weirdo." Vinyl thought to herself. But she continued to stare she couldn't take her eyes off the beautiful cellist. Well that was until she heard somepony yell her name instantly snapping out of her daze. "Huh?!?What?!?" She yelled in shock cause ing her to fall flat on her flank on the floor. "What's going!!!" She yelled. "Calm down it's me." Octavia said giggling at the sight of Vinyl panicking on the floor. "Oh.....guess I kinda zoned out there." She said sheepishly "I'll say. Ummm.....what were you starring at?" Octavia asked curious. "What are talking about?" Vinyl said who had forgotten what just happened. "You were starring in my direction was there something behind me, or in my teeth?" Octavia asked raising her eyebrow. "Oh....I...was....starring at...." Vinyl was looking around desperately trying to find something.....anything! "At ....that sign!" She said pointing at the sign that said "No socks aloud" Octavia looked at the sign raising an eyebrow." What does that even mean?" She asked holding back a giggle knowing very well what it meant. "Ummm..... You know like...." Before the Dj continued. She saw a small giggle coming from Octavia. "Heeeeey!!!" Vinyl said now laughing along with the cellist. When they finally calmed down Vinyl was the first one to speak. "You know your not that bad." She said smiling. Not bad at all. Bad thoughts go away. "Your not bad yourself." Octavia smiled. Before the conversation continued the waitress came back with their food. "The strawberry crepes for you and a nice stack of pancakes for you." She said smiling as she walked away. "Aaaaight yeeeaaahhhh!!!!! It's pancake eating time I'm starving!!!" And with that said Vinyl began eating her pancakes as if it were the last piece of food shed ever eat. Instead of savoring each bite she simple attacked her food like some savage animal. When Octavia took nice lady like bites wiping her mouth every three bites. "Ummm Vinyl not to be rude but must you eat like well.....an animal?" She said trying her best not to offend her. "Yup I'm starved." She said with a mouth full of pancakes. "And look at you your barley half done with you pancakes and it only 5 more bites." The DJ said well swallowing her food. "Crepes."Octavia corrected. "What?" Asked the confused DJ. "There not pancakes there crepes." Octavia replied. "You sure. It looks like somepony flattened your pancakes and folded them and put strawberries in them and can I have some?" The DJ asked sheepishly. Octavia rolled her eyes and nodded yes. Vinyl then levitated one of Octavia's crapes on to her plate. She then levitated her fork down to her plate then up to her mouth taking a bite. As soon as that piece went into her mouth her eyes went wide. "Vinyl, are you alright?" Octavia asked in concern. The DJ grabbed Octavia by the shoulders and said "These......taste......AMAZING!!!!" "I swear you are the strangest pony I've ever met." Octavia mumbled.
