A Normal Day In Canterlot
None of the characters belong to me.
Queen Chrysalis gazed up into the starry night, plotting her revenge against Twilight and Cadence. Suddenly, a gust of wind blows a letter to her.
“Ugh. Finally he replies to my letter!” She moans loudly.
She opens the letter and reads it carefully.
Chrysalis,
All the hypnotized ponies are plotting to go storm the castle. on the other side of this letter there is a map to the Canterlot Castle. Bring your army. However, there is a problem. A foal has been born. The one in the prophecy. We must capture her and teach her the way of the evil. Or destroy her. Its up to you.
-Poison Trek
“Muahahahahahaha!” Chrysalis laughs. She then takes off and flies to the fortress, using the map Poison Trek gave her.
Fluttershy leaned over the crib of the filly she was foal-sitting. The foal slept peacefully. Its not every day that alicorns are born from a unicorn prince and a pegasus princess. Princess Celestia invited her to watch over the foal while she and Luna were at the Crystal Empire to check on Cadence and the preparations for the Crystal Fair. So she asked her to come and watch her. Of course she had to say yes. Twilight had gone with them. Since she recently became a princess, she had to fulfill her duty as a royal. So she came.
Suddenly, Chrysalis crashes through the window. Fluttershy screams.
“What in the wide world of Equestria are you doing here?” Fluttershy shrieks.
“I came here to see my favorite pony, of course!” Chrysalis laughs.
“Get out of here!”
“Not after paying a visit to my niece.”
“N- niece?!” Fluttershy stammers.
“Yes, niece. You see, Softheart was my sister. And since she married Fastwing, the foal is my niece. But this particular foal is not a normal alicorn. She inherits my dark alicorn figure. She also can learn changeling magic. Which is why I must teach her.
Queen Chrysalis lunged at Fluttershy. She screamed and fainted. Chrysalis looked at the sleeping foal, and with a blast of magic, she, the foal, and Fluttershy disappeared just as Flash Sentry and 2 other guards came in. They only caught a glimpse of Queen Chrysalis as the blast of green power exploded and they disappeared.
3 years later
Twilight paced around the library, looking in various books as Spike pulled them off the shelf.
“I got a book about monsters! Maybe this one has the monster that took Fluttershy.” Spike yelled
“Let me see that” Twilight remarked. She lit her horn with the familiar pink glow and took the book from Spike
“Ahhhhhhh!” Spike screamed as he was whisked over to Twilight along with the book. Twilight saw this, and the book stopped mid-air. Spike let go, and he crashed into a bookshelf. He looks at Twilight, clearly annoyed.
“Sorry Spike. I just want to see if its in there. All Flash Sentry told me he saw was a green wing with holes and a green flash, along with a glimpse of Fluttershy’s tail.” Twilight flips to a page, and skims it. It is the page about changelings.
Changelings are cunning creatures that can change into whatever form they choose. The queen is the largest, being the one that harvests love from the pony that their form loves.
“No, not it.” Twilight flips through the rest of the book, but doesn’t find anything else. Suddenly, Shining Armor bursts through the door. Twilight whips around, clearly surprised to see her brother in Ponyville.
“What in the name of Celestia are you doing in Ponyville?” Twilight says as she hugs her brother.
“Did you hear the news Twily? Fluttershy has been pony-napped by Queen Chrysalis!! Well did you hear? Huh? Huh? HUH???????”
“Shining Armor, THAT HAPPENED 3 YEARS AGO!!! Wait. Did you say Queen Chrysalis?”
“No. I don’t think so. Why?” Shining Armor looks at his hoof, then at Twilight. “Did I?”
“YES- Ugh. Yes, Shining Armor. You did.” Twilight turns away. “This is what Flashy meant! Ugh I AM SO STUPID!! I passed the page on changelings a while ago.”
“Oh okay the- wait. Who in the name of Celestia is this Flashy you speak of??”
“Oh, just Flash Sentry, the dreamiest colt in the whole wide world!” Twilight answered as she looked up at the ceiling dreamily.
“Are you talking about Cadence’s guard?”
“Yes” Twilight snaps out of her trance and her smile fades into a panicked frown. “Wait. Chrysalis pony-napped her. I have to go tell Princess Celestia and Princess Luna quick!” Twilight, Spike, and Shining Armor gallop down to the train station
Fluttershy squirms against the rope that tied her wings and hooves together. Suddenly, the door bursts open and in walks a blue filly. She felt relieved until her eyes drifted up to her forehead. Her horn had holes in it. So did her wings. Was this the filly she foal-sat 3 years ago before she was pony-napped?
“Silver Ray?” Fluttershy mutters as she looks into the foals eyes. Sure enough, they were that amber-ish color that belonged to the filly she foal-sat. The filly looks back at her, her devilish smile fading into a bewildered look.
“Um………. Yeah. How do you know my name?” Silver Ray’s eyes drifted down to her nametag, which said:
Hi! My Name Is
Silver Ray
And I’m here to end your life!
“Oh. Right” Silver Ray says as she covers it up with her mottled mane.
“That is not the only reason that I know your name. I was your foal sitter like 3 years ago” Fluttershy says with a giggle. Silver Ray suddenly remembers and smiles. She walks over to Fluttershy and unties her.
“I apologize for my aunt. She can be a bit harsh at times. Which is why I signed her up for an anger-management class” Silver Ray laughs. Then the 2 ponies fall on the floor laughing.
“Can we get out of here now?” Fluttershy asks politely. Typical Fluttershy.
“Sure. Lets go.” Silver Ray and Fluttershy burst out of the cell and run across the cave floors to the gate, where there was a changeling on guard duty. The changeling sees the prisoner next to Silver, and makes a confused frown.
“What is SHE doing here??” the changeling says skeptically.
“It is time, Foger.” Silver says to the confused changeling. He looks at Silver, nods, and opens the gate. Fluttershy starts to run toward the exit, but Silver pulls her away and into a different hallway. Fluttershy looks at Silver, clearly confused.
“Why are we going this way?”
“The changelings will be suspicious. There is another exit. But I need you to see something disturbing. Silver turns down another hallway. This hallways full of glass windows. In each glass window was a cell with a hypnotized pony in it. They rounded another hallway and found more ponies in this state. They finally came to a cell in the very corner. The curtain was pulled down, so she could not see the pony inside. Silver Ray unlocked the door with her necklace. Fluttershy gasped when she peered inside.
Meanwhile, Twilight and Rainbow Dash were doing their daily Fluttershy search. Rainbow takes the sky, Twilight the ground, and then they switch. Rainbow was in the sky, her blue wings flapping easily, gliding through the air, when she gave an excited shout. Twilight whipped her head upward, and her purple wings boosted her up next to Rainbow Dash.
“Why are you ye-” Twilight stops as she saw a yellow and pink blur and a blue-ish white blur flying towards them. “Fluttershy?” She asks as the blur became the yellow pegasus she knew so well. Fluttershy’s hair was messy, and there were scratches and scars on her face and hooves. Fluttershy smiled, and tears well in Twilight’s eyes as she hugs her long lost friend.
“Oh my gosh! I missed you guys so much!” Fluttershy says as she hugs Rainbow Dash. Rainbow stood speechless, her eyes blank.
“Um, are you okay?” Twilight says as she waves her hoof in front of Rainbow’s eyes. That seemed to snap her out of her trance.
“Yeah. I just can’t believe you escaped.” Rainbow said as tears began to form in her eyes.
“Well, I had some help.” Fluttershy moves to the left. Twilight gasps and her horn lit up pink, ready to perform a spell. Floating there was a strangely blue changeling with a key on a chain.
“Fluttershy! Get behind me! This changeling FOLLOWED YOU HOME!!!” Twilight screeches as Rainbow pulled Fluttershy away from Silver Ray. The changeling just stared at them, clearly hurt.
“Hey, hey! Its okay! She’s my friend” Fluttershy exclaimed as she pulled away from Rainbow Dash and flew next to the filly, “She helped me escape. Guys, this is Silver Ray.” Twilight and Rainbow Dash looked from Silver Ray to Fluttershy, clearly confused.
“Lets go back to Ponyville and go say hi to Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack!” Fluttershy winced as she heard Applejack’s name.
“They don’t know yet” She mutters to herself as she followed Twilight to Ponyville.
First they went to the carousel boutique. They opened the door. Rarity was running around gathering gems for a dress. When Rarity saw them, she stopped dead in her tracks, sending a bunch of cloth flying out of her hooves and onto Sweetie Belle’s head.
“Oops! Sorry Sweetie Belle.” Rarity said. She used her blue magic to take the cloth off of her face. Then, she turned to the four ponies standing in the doorway. “Fluttershy, darling. You’re okay!” Rarity said as she hugged Fluttershy.
“Ooooooooh! Fluttershy is back!” The Cutie Mark Crusaders bolted up to her and hugged her very tightly.
“Oh Fluttershy we missed you so- wait. Um, who is this?” Rarity points to Silver Ray, “Is this a changeling?” Rarity looked surprised.
“Well, half changeling. Bit I’m not evil. I’m Silver Ray. But you can call me Silver.”
“Oooh! I love your name!” Scootaloo exclaimed as she shook her hand.
“Thanks!”
“Lets go to Sugar Cube Corners! Pinkie Pie would be so excited to see you!” Rarity led them out the door. Pinkie was hanging streamers already for a Welcome Back Fluttershy party.
“How did you know I was back??” Fluttershy asked.
“I didn’t. I was Just preparing. But now that you’re here” Pinkie pie explodes the party cannon and suddenly everypony in town bursts through the door and a mass party breaks out.
Applejack walks up to Fluttershy.
“Hi there um Fritterhy”
“Its Fluttershy. I know who you really are.” Fluttershy whispers in AJ’s ear.
“Ah, you do, do you?” Applejack sneered.
“Yes. And you won’t get away with whatever you are planning to do with the hypnotized ponies!” Fluttershy punched Applejack in the face. The music stopped and everypony stared at Fluttershy.
“FLUTTERSHY! WHY DID YOU PUNCH APPLEJACK?!?!” Twilight screamed. Fluttershy turned to look at them, her eyes stone cold. Suddenly, she started to cry.
“You don’t understand! Thats not our friend Applejack!” She shrieked between sobs, “Thats a CHANGELING!!!”
“Now darling, whatever do you mean?” Rarity stroked Fluttershy’s mane.
“I-was-i-in-th-the-cave-a-a-bunch-of-doors-hypnotized-ponies-key on a chain-real Applejack-hypnotized-storming castle.” Fluttershy hyperventilates.
“Castle? Which caste?” Twilight looked at Fluttershy.
“Canterlot” Fluttershy fainted.
Applejack looked at the ponies and makes a bolt for the door. Lyra and Bon Bon blocked her exit. Suddenly, a green flash appeared and Applejack turned into a changeling. Everypony gasped. Suddenly, Silver Ray lunged at the pony and it disappeared.
“Well that happened!” Pinkie said. Everypony looked at her and Pinkie shrugged, “Well, it did!”
“Wait. If that was a changeling, where is the real Applejack?” Rainbow Dash asked Silver Ray. Silver Ray looked at the ponies, eyes brimming with tears.
“Sh-she is in a changeling base in the Everfree Forest. But she is a slave to them unless we can destroy the gem of the Changelings. It is what is keeping her and countless other ponies hypnotized. It is currently at Canterlot Castle under heavy guard. I think that Chrysalis is going to storm the castle and get it. But we need to destroy it or else all the ponies will stay in their state forever.” Silver Ray explained. Twilight looked at Silver Ray and turned to the ponies.
“Lets go to Canterlot then!!!” All the ponies in the room boarded the train to Canterlot. Everything seemed normal, but then the lights shut off. There was a thud, and Twilight felt something trip over her. Or was it someone?
The lights turned back on. Twilight tried to look for the pony that tripped over her, but she was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly she heard a piercing scream. She galloped to a sobbing Bon Bon hovering over a green pony. She pushed Bon Bon and gasped.
Laying there, dead, was Lyra. Blood seeped from her chest. Bon Bon cried as Twilight turned Lyra over to see if there was any sign of the pony who killed her. All she saw was a blood stained note.

Twilight pushed Lyra’s body into an abandoned room and covered her with a blanket. She crumpled the note just as the train arrived at Canterlot. She used her magic to levitate Lyra as she trotted out of the train.
