Going for a walk.
Purple Rain

It was mid summer’s day, parents were away and I was on my summer vacation for the next week and a half. Best of all, the chores were almost done.
“Let’s see...feed cats....”
“check”
“...mow the lawns...”
“check”
“...laundry....”
“check”
I scrolled down the list and noticed that I needed to pick up some groceries at the local market. Seeing how it was a nice day, I thought it would be healthy choice to go for a walk, nothing on schedule so no rush. Just a lazy summer day.
________________
“Note to self: Screw walking.”
I started to have second thoughts on my healthy choice, it started to rain as I reached the market and then matured into a light shower as I exited the store. I passed by the school field of an old elementary school that I used to go to when I was a kid. Oh the memories. The time where the boys were playing pokemon red and blue while the girls sang to Spice Girls and Britney Spears. Memories of nostalgia blurred through my head. But memory lane took a halt when I noticed something, something bizarre.
I stopped and took a second glance. From the green bushes, a purple object, scratch that, a moving purple thing! I walked closer to it to see what it was. The odd colour stood out from the bushes and it was easy to identify. Walked on all fours, size of a large dog, dark lavender hair with a bright streak. I instantly recognized who it was, hell, any BRONY would recognized who it was.
It was Twilight Sparkle! Shivering, confused, and cold. She spotted me and stood still, watching and studying me.
“Why the hell is Twilight Sparkle here?”
My head was rushing with hundreds of questions. I’ve seen the show, read a few fanfics there and there. But this? This is blowing my fucking mind. How did a fictional character be in my reality? Does she talk? Does she know who we are? Is she lost? Is she stuck here?
The dimensional traveler seemed to be very cautious with me, I must look imitating from her perspective. I lowered myself to her eye level to greet her.
“Hello Twilight Sparkle, nice to meet you.” I said in friendly tone.
Her eyes open wider, I can see she was trying to process how can a unknown creature she has never seen know her! I continued. “It’s ok. I’m a friend, my name is Ronald, Ron for short.”
“He-Hello Ron.” she stammered.
“OH MY GOD SHE TALKS!”
I squealed with joy inside and smiled. I got closer and brought my hand out as if i was giving her a handshake. She took a step back cautiously.
“You’re a bit far from home, how about you come to my place so you can dry up and I can explain everything.” I said while trying to restrain my excitement. She paused and thought about it, she really had no choice. Either stay out in this unknown land, being drenched in the rain or be inside and hopefully get some answers. “I have a bunch of books that you can read.” I added in. I saw a sparkle in her eye. Seems that was the magic word.
“Can you visualize your home?” She asked.
“Yes, but why do I...”
*POOF*
...need... to.”
I looked around. For one second we were in the school fields and the next moment, we were in my house in the family room. “Well... That’s new.” I said with a dumbfounded face.
“Where are my ruby slippers.”
She gave a slight chuckle. I still couldn't believe that I am talking to ‘the’ Twilight Sparkle, and my first hand experience with magic. I regained my posture, or, as much as I could.
“Let me get you some towels so you can dry up. Then we can talk.” I said to my special guest.
I zipped by the kitchen dropped the groceries, grabbed a couple towels and went back to meet up with my guest. I passed her the towel and to my surprised, she picked it up with her magic. It astounded me to see telekinesis in action. “Looks like your magic still works. So how did you get here”? I asked her.
“Well, Lyra and I...”
“Wait! Lyra, the green colour unicorn with the lyre mark?!” I interrupted.
I knew Lyra from the show and fan theories. She apparently had a fascination with humans. But why would she be working with Twilight? I had a feeling that Twilight being here and Lyra’s cooperation had a connection.
“Yes. How did you.... anyway, Lyra and I have been doing some teleporting research to improve Equestria’s methods of transportation, like the visualization teleportation we just did.”
Makes sense so far, I think. I can see how useful it can be. If your in a foreign place. She continued.
“We decided to work on long distance teleportation theories and apparently I overshot my mark and well....”
“You got here.”
She shook her head in agreement.
“So why didn't you warp back?” I questioned her.
“It took a lot of energy and concentration for me to get here. I needed some time to recover but then I met you.” She said with a smile.
“Bwwaaa, Must resist hugging her...”
“So Ron, you were saying you were going to answer how you know me.”
“Ever heard of multiverse theory?”
I brought her to my room and started to explain. Hours passed by as I explain everything to her. She’s an intelligent pony, so hiding the truth from her might not be the best way to start this friendship. I started with us humans and our origins, the lack of magic and rise of technology. Than finally transitioned to the show and the fandom created from it. She had an uncomfortable look on her face, maybe saying that hundreds of thousands know her and her friends might of been too much for her.
“You ok Twilight?” I asked my concerned friend.
“Yes. It’s just hearing about countless people watching you feels, well, unnerving.”
I patted her on her head. She felt warm and soft.
“Listen Twilight, as weird as it sounds, you’re an inspiration. It’s because of you and your friends that many people have been inspired to create, to do, and make mark for themselves. Believe me when I say this, you have saved the lives of many. And because of that, you and your friends will always be loved and respected.”
She became a bit relived, but looks like I also hit an emotional sting.
“Time to add the twist to multiverse theory.”
“In a way, if you take it at a different perspective, we might be in a story right now.”
“If I am in one, whoever you are, don’t screw this up!”
She recovered quickly.
“Thank you Ron for trying to cheer me up. I have a few other questions, if thats ok?”
“Sure, anything.”
“What happened to your mane?” She pointed to an old picture of me with a full head of black hair.
“Ok, first we call it hair, and second, I shaved it.”
“Why?”
“You see, I have a genetic condition called male pattern baldness. Instead of slowly seeing myself getting bald, I just shaved it all off to get it over with.”
She was a little regretful of that question.
“I’m sorry, I didn't know humans can get that kind of condition.”
“That’s why you asked.”
She changed the subject quickly.
“How did you become a ‘Brony’?”
She said while doing hoof quotes. I have no idea how she picked that up.
I answered her.
“Well, I guess it started with a bet.”
“A bet?” she asked while tilting her head.
“Yeah, a friend of mine was a big animation fan, and made a bet. If I watched the entire first season, he would buy me a game I wanted to get.”
“And so you watched the show?”
“I recognized you, right?”
She seemed satisfied with that answer. She pondered for a moment than began gazing at me with a curious yet sinister look.
“Do you have a favorite pony?”
“I somehow knew she was going to ask that.”
“Well it would ha...”
The house beeped before I could answer. I knew it was the garage doors opening and I knew who it was. All I know is this is not going to end well.
“Shit! Now is not a good time.”
Twilight picked up on my sudden distress. “What was that?” she said.
“That...” I replied. “....would be my parents.”
