//-------------------------------------------------------// The rogue colonel -by The writing on the wall- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// If you never played fallout //-------------------------------------------------------// If you never played fallout Who is Autumn? Well that is a question to ask if you never played Fallout 3. He is the main antagonist that controls the enclave army. You could debate that the sentient super ZAX computer Eden is the true power. That however is a debate for a message thread. Or another fan story one were Eden and house go on adventures in securitrons. However this guide is for those who don’t know Fallout or don’t care enough to look it up on the vault wiki. So if you know fallout go to the next chapter. I will give the short hand on what is needed to know about the fallout universe to enjoy the story fully. The whole game is based in a post-apocalypse D.C. where children wander the ruined radiation soaked streets and society is more or less stuck in tribal and small settlements. Two major groups fight for control. One is the enclave who is the most advanced and pure in un-mutated humans. The brother hood being the second most advance but stuck with recruits from the wastes that are slightly mutated. Power armor is the best form of protection that ranges from primitive riveted steel plates to form injected power armor that can protect you from a rocket to the face. The cover pick is of hellfire armor the best in the game if you have broken steel DLC. FEV is forced evolutionary vires that has infected everyone to some degree making those lightly infected more resistant to the harsh new world. The more infected turn into super mutants. Think hulk but smaller and even less intelligent. O- and metal pants. Then you have other creation that are created from ordinary creatures by combos of them mixed together. This is an RPG so you make your character and pick most of the outcomes of missions and who survives in the quest line. Aka you make what they are good at and how powerful they are. Both brother hood and enclave dislike non pure human as they are racist in that way with genetic superiority. Though in three the brother hood turns heroes to the wastes creating a small fraction dedicated to the main mission of collection powerful technology and keeping it out of the hands of those who would miss use it. Aka all of us. The enclave is the main baddies that want to oppose you. They too like you want fresh water. (a rare commodity in a world polluted with radioactive particles.) So they want the purifier as well to gain power over the D.C. area. Wow can’t believe your still here. Colonel Autumn is less drastic as Eden. Eden wants the water so he can poise it with a vires that kill every one with FEV mutation. This way only pure humans will inhabit the wasteland. Autumn thinks that’s too drastic and takes the entire enclave army under his command. He will do as the brother hood of steel did and recruit people from the wastes to grow the enclave’s power. The world takes place in a dystopian 1950`s future so expect things to be slightly behind the time. Uuuu-crap I didn’t think you get his far. Dame my little attention span, fruit flies last longer than me. Really we went onto eleven?! I didn’t eve- –n finish my sentence. Crap. Well that all I can give you. Go to wiki if you want more info on places in the story if you like it and please don’t down vote if you don’t get something. down vote it because it was sucked. O-and read tags there on here for a reason. //-------------------------------------------------------// day 1: This town is for you and me. Part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// day 1: This town is for you and me. Part 1 Colonel Augustus autumn sat straight up in his bed. Despite several attempts over the past seven hours he had not a wink of sleep. He turned his head towards his back and groaned at the two appendages responsible for his current state. Seeing the morning light through his blinds he headed into the bathroom. Walking in he couldn’t help but stare the Shure cleanness of the room itself. Unlike most rooms the tiles were not stained or eroded nor were the walls flaking and showing off rotted dry wall, in fact the whole place smelled as if it had been built no longer than a few year ago. He shook the idea out of his head. A new building. Really? There had been no new buildings created in almost over two hundred years. Still the novelty of a clean room left it impression on him. Turning on the water Augustus sorted through the various soup`s lining the shower wall. He was going to enjoy this even if it killed him. Stepping out of the bathroom refreshed Autumn turned his attention to his wardrobe. Despite the over whelming urge to suit up in his overcoat and uniform, that was out of the question. From his current observations almost everything so far was new or heavily refurbished. To blend in he needed something less…worn. Sorting through the various jeans and plaid shirts he manage to form a full outfit. Looking in the mirror he admired the almost perfect disguise. The dress shirt was a dark black matching the tie and dress shoes. The pants and jacket were almost the same tan that matched his fur. The best part was that both the shirt and jacket had premade slits, perfect for his winged nature. Taking another look through his bag Autumn pocked his laser pistol along with a few extra energy cells. He also slipped in three stimpak’s and some med-x into his pockets, just in case. Walking out of his room Autumn breezed down the hall towards the main desk. Stopping in front of the young woman he met earlier that day. She turned facing him with almost glowing attitude and complexion. “Oo-hello!” Red Heart greeted absolutely giddy. “I suspect that you have had a wonderful recovery in ponyvill hospital!” “Actually I came to discuss the trade from yesterday. You remember me Miss?” Autumn spoke clear and drawn out. “Is that you? I thought..no. yes I do remember the trade, though I remain on the previous predicament of payment. We still don’t have the “caps” that you wanted but we can spare bits. To my knowledge they are still legal tender in most nations and surrounding countries. You may want to watch the exchange rates though.” Drawn back by this Autumn sighed internally. He may have not gained the money he needed for the trip but money was money and he could always hold up a Brahmin caravan to resupply on his way home. Bring himself back to the situation Autumn smiled at Miss Red heart before leaning down over her desk his hands griping the sides. “Well I can do with that, but what exchange are we taking here? Back home I get sixteen or seventeen caps per syringe and that was at a clinic! What can you offer me that’ll keep me from selling elsewhere?” Autumn replied his voice coy as he made his gamble. Red heart sat surprised by this conversation. She had heard him say he was a salvager but a haggler? she had not pinned him as one. Still he was open to reason over his prices and that could play out for her. She needed supplies he had, better yet he had enough to keep the hospital going for a couple of years at least.  Smiling at him, she returned his question. “Well I can provide a steady supply of funds to you during your stay. Best of all I will pay you extra if we have to take more than our agreed amount for the week.” “Why I think I can live with that. what`s the pay out?” “Seven hundred and twenty per week. I`ll bump it up a thousand and fifty if you find some were else to lay your head at night. That of course means that you turn over a substantial amount of morphine to the hospital for use. I’m sure both of us would be happier if we didn’t have to go snooping around each other stuff.” “Yes I think those terms are…agreeable.” Autumn replied anxious to end the conversation with the mutant in front of him. “Well…” Red Heart started before reaching down below the desk bring up a small metal basket. “… I would appreciate it by honoring our deal by handing over the specified item in question. Starting by filling up this basket with the syringes?” wordlessly colonel autumn took the basket in question and returned to his room. Dragging the half-forgotten bag out of the corner, he dug through the contents collecting and placing several in the basket. After filling the it with seventy med-x`s he returned to Red heart and traded the basket for a comically small cloth bag. Turing around he walked out the front door almost missing Red heart wish him a nice day. Making headway into town, Autumn drunk in the sights and sounds of the bustling town. Had everyone been human he could have sworn this was what prewar America looked like. There were stands lined up each selling their own respective wears. In fact he would say that this looked like capitalism at its finest. He would remember this sight when he returned home and perhaps use this as a bases for examination. Moving on from his staring he came insight several winged mutants hang around a corner by a two story building. They much to the colonel’s distain were a variety of colors ranging from blue to bright purple. One turned around on his approach alerting his friends to Autumns presence. “Hey looky here.” The blue one with red hair slurred to his friends. “We have our self a visitor. You guys know what that means.” He spurred at his friend gaining large grins from them in return. Autumn was less than enthusiastic about their reaction to him. He however had little time to question what they meant when he felt someone take hold of him from behind. Despite his best attempts he could not get his arm around to reach his laser pistol. He could only sit back and watch as things unfolded. Much to his surprise and the enjoyment of the group behind him a pink female in a light pink skirt and top had grabbed him with abnormal amount of strength and flipped him around to face her. Still in her grasp Autumn stared shocked at the pink being holding him in front of her like a life sized doll. That is until she started yelling. “HEY YOU’RE NEW RIGHT? I KNOW BECAUSE I KNOW EVER ONE IN THIS TOWN-YOU LIKE SOME DUDE THAT SCAVENGES STUFF RIGHT. I DO THAT TOO EVEN THOUGH THE CAKES DON’T WAN-“her relentless onslaught halted as Autumn brought his hand up silencing the one sided conversation. “Miss I appreciate your enthusiasm but I must move on. Maybe we can converse at a later date.” Autumn was still struggling to get the laser pistol out of his suit pocket, in case she didn’t release him. He wouldnt put it past mutates to act all kind and caring one moment to go bat shit crazy the next. Still that really only mattered if he couldnt get his weapon out. “Ooo Come on friend. It wouldn’t be right of me to not introduce you to town. Just give it a chance, everypony get a welcome party-non optional!” the pink girl squealed her hair bouncing with every syllable.  “Besides I still need your name!” “How about this? You let me down and I tell you my name miss..?” “Pinky pie!” she chirped. “Yes…Miss-pinky pie. If you let me down like I said I will tell you my name. Deal?” “Deal!” her grip lessened and Autumn felt a small thump as his heals landed on the ground.  He wore a surprised expression over the fact that he was held in the air for that long without noticing. “Well?” he lifted his head back up to find her staring patiently for him. “Er..right (cough) I am Augustus autumn and thank you for the introduction. Now though. I must be on my way. Good day.” He turned trying to make a quick escape from the pink inquirer. That fell flat as she grabbed his arm holding him once again in place. “(sigh) What is it?” he snarled displeases by the needles contact with this being. “You didn’t get the party info” she almost cried hanging loosely on his arm. “Why does this matter? Your eagerness to throw a party only tells me you have thrown plenty before. Not like it would destroy you to miss one opportunity.” Autumn replied with his normal solemn tone. He walked past the pink girl kneeling on the cobbled road letting his arm slip from her grasp as he moved away. He didn’t get five feet before he heard something crying. It was soft at first but grew by the passing second. He wasn’t the only one to notice as the higher crying got the less noise of town life he could make out. Turing his head he could see more and more town folk stopping and staring at the scene taking fold. Unnerved by the utter connectivity of the town, he walked back to Miss Pie picking her up from the ground. “Miss” he spoke trying to pretend he cared and this girl had some importance to him. “Despite my current distain for party’s. I can see you’re not going to let this go.” She nodded her head only sniffling at this moment. “so… I..heh..I guess that I will have to attend-though not for the entire deration of the party, but for part of. yes.” He could feel himself burning up inside. The very notion that Colonel Augustus autumn would bend his will over something crying infuriated him to no end. Still this was a learning experience. He could always wipe them out later after he reestablished contact with the enclave fleet. His anger was violently snapped out of him as the Miss pie had picked him up in what most would say was a bear hug. “O-THANK YOU-THANK YOU. I KNOW YOU WON’T BE DISAPOINTED!” she blurted still hugging Autumn. “Meet me at sugar cube corner at three. See you there!” she spoke her voice still high pitched but at a more reasonable volume. Miss Pinky pie dropped him, disappearing in almost an instant. Looking around Autumn could not locate her point of exit. Lifting an eyebrow he back pedaled and moved on with his exploration of the town. Sitting down on a park bench Autumn rested his tired legs. So far the town was even less developed than most parts of the waste land. The most advanced device he heard of was the computer at the public library and even that needed punch cards. No holotapes. No chems nor drug’s of any kind as far as he could tell. This place was a clean of societal diseases as it was in modern technology. Still though he had learned quite a bit about the part of the world he was in. The town was called ponyvill. The name though pathetic did spring several realizations from earlier and his eaves dropping. Every one used everypony in conversation along with describing the differences between them by race. The ones like him with wings were called Pegasuss and ones with horns (he noticed they were far and few between than the other types) were called unicorns. And thought’s without any were called earth ponys. Ponys. The very idea of the naming made him laugh. But why? Why would the culture here develop like this? Perhaps the FEV had mutated the people so much they didnt think of themselves as human any more. Perhaps the change had such a drastic affect the earlier generation covered it all up so they would never know. That was the only explanation he could think of. Silently he gave thanks that despite his appearance he didn`t have a tail to speak of, so for that was glad. Lifting himself from the bench he made way to a small store on the other side of the green field. Walking up he made out the significant difference between this one and the rest of the buildings in town. For one it was a bright white with purple accents along its tiled roof. The design bulged with civilized taste with the gothic engraved designs. This and it said carousal banquet on the sign. Turning the handle Augustus stepped inside. Looking around he breezed over the stores selection of wear`s.              ------------------------------------------------------------^-------------------------------------------------------------- Rarity sat comfortable in her chair reading her latest novel. Despite what her friends thought she didn’t read just romance, she consumed all manners of literature from poems and haiku to short takes on life in secluded book stores. Well yes they all were about love and meeting that special somepony but still she could enjoy what she wanted despite what others thought. Shifting her sights she placed the book down on her coffee table and turned her head intently listing for stray sounds. Finally a stray creak erupted in to the room. Sighing she pulled herself from her chair, straightening out her robe and walked into the other room. “Sweetie bell. I know you strive to find out what you and your friends are destined to do but could you do it somewhere el-“ she paused at the sight standing in her main lobby. The stallion stood straight, his poster showing off his overall lanky build. His face was narrow like most, but his held some command almost as some authority stood waiting to give an order and take command of anything in his path. She pinned him as some executive or Canterlot pony on vacation. Looking back at him she noticed he had yet to spot her, engrossed in some suits and hats on display. Smiling she coughed trying to get his attention. Her actions bore fruit as the stallion before her turned around with a stiff expression on his face that softened as he focused on the source of the noise. “Greetings” his introduction stern yet passively friendly. “I can assume you’re the owner of this establishment?” She only smiled as she answered his question. “Yes I am. Welcome to my store. I am ponyvill`s main and only suppler of clothes and accessories in this region and anywhere in five hundred paces. I assume you’ve come for something special or just more down to earth threads?” she gestured to his suit He flipped his head down covering up his face. Only a light chuckle indicated his mood.  Lifting his head revealing a half smile clinging to his face. “My dear I came here to get a quote on some clothes that require some…restoration. They are antiques as some might put it. Though I have pride in wearing something with history laced into it.” He spoke drawing out nature of the outfit in question. She stood there taking in his request before asking him a question she had been dying to ask. “This antique I would be restoring. It would happen to be an old uniform would it?” He seemed to stumble over his words as he gave a look of surprise. “O-don’t look so surprised. All Pegasus have some family uniform or armor they just have to have fitted to them. You’re not my first customer and you won’t be my last to ask. So why don’t you just bring it here later today and then we can discuss price point of the restoration sir” “Autumn. Augustus autumn Ma`m.” He spoke reclaiming some sense of composer. Smiling he gave a respectable nod and left the store. Turing back rarity returned to her chair. Her book still waiting on her table. //-------------------------------------------------------// day 1: This town is for you and me. Part 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// day 1: This town is for you and me. Part 2 Autumn returned outside squinting, bring his hand up at the sudden increase of light from outside.  Lowering it as his eyes adjusted he moved his attention to the clouds. He had heard of his current species sub type flying, though being able to manipulating weather he was less inclined to believe. Looking down noticed two wide shadows branching of the side of his main one. Looking at his back he saw his wings stretching subconsciously, bring themselves to their maximum length. He smiled at his new forms apparent desire. Testing his new capability he stretched and gave a couple of experimental flaps. Satisfied at his preflight check he gave a full flap putting all the strength he could muster. This of course turned out to be a less than educated guess as he shot up several hundred feet over the town. Looking down autumn flailed his arms as he began plummeting downward. Thinking quickly he tried flapping negating his fall speed but still falling at an alarming rate. Searching for a place to land Autumn directed himself to a nearby cloud for a hopefully soft landing. His body came to a crashing halt as he impacted the cloud causing the air to be forced out of his lungs. Breathing heavily he laid on the cloud thankful but more surprised by the fact he was laying on a cloud. Really he should have fallen through it being it made of water vapor but despite what the laws of physics said he was laying on a cloud. Perhaps the water partials were stabilized by some manipulation field: like how force fields worked with air. Regaining his strength as oxygen filled his burning lungs he stood up and looked over his clouds edge. He was still several of not a couple hundred feet over the small town. Taking in the scenery Autumn looked out reliving the day before where he marched out of the forest and into the sleepy town he was in now. Moving on from the forest he took in the sight of the Mountain View and what appeared to be a…castle? That was certainly something hard to miss. Still he could focus on that later, now he had some basic flight patterns and maneuvers to get down                       ---------------------------------------------------^--------------------------------------------------- Rainbow was having a great day. So far she had gotten through her daily weather duty and had time to take a nap before lunch. Yea today had been great, but a day can get better with some stunts over ponyvill with its many fans to enjoy her awesomeness. Puffing up her chest Rainbow soared several feet into the air breaking into the cloud barrier and continuing to sail onward. Taking a deep breath she folded her wings against her sides, letting herself fall. Freefalling. The ultimate experience in flight. She reviled as the wind racing past her blue jacket and shorts causing them to ruse and flicker with each passing second. Closing her eyes she lived in the sensation letting it fill her entire being. She opened her eyes just in time to collide with somepony in a tan suit. Her entire body felt like it hit a rock as she and the for mentioned pony flew out of control. She lucky landed on a cloud with only slight bruising. She could not say the same for her counterpart. Looking over her cloud she saw him Laing on the ground, allowing her to take in his appearance. He was a Pegasus like herself but seem to be wearing a rather tacky and restrictive tan business suit with black shirt. His fur matched his suit to a motif, the dirty blond mane looked perfect as if her sudden bombardment hadn’t shuck a hair out of place. Dropping from her perch took a look over the stallion. So far he was unconscious that was the good news as if was awake he`d probably have been trying to sue her. The bad news was he had a pretty messed up wing. Looking up she could see the towns folk coming over to see that the commotion was, even worse was when some started muttering about her “taking another out” and “first out roofs now this”. Leaning over she could feel the eye drilling on the back of her head. A firm believer in first action she put her arms around the unconscious stallions body dragging him away from the crowd. Half dragging half limping she brought him through town square making way to the hospital all the while the whole town was either following or whispering about her and the stallion in her arms. Uncomfortable and less that ecstatic at the towns display she manage to get him and herself in side. Looking up she saw not only Fluttershy but all her friends waiting inside. Their faces showing annoyance and disappointment at her. “Guys” she started her voice stained by her excusive work of moving another’s mass through town. “I know this looks bad but …it was an accident.” Twilight spoke up first “We understand, but this stallion still had every right to be in the sky as you did. But even then that not the point. You could have killed him!” “Shes right sugar cube” said Apple jack her signature draw accompanying every word. “You hurt somepony and now your have to live up consequences, no matter what happened. You owe him that much.” She spoke nodding her hat at the end. Rainbow dash blushed in embarrassment at the words of her friends, she looked down at the stallion in question still lying in her arms but flipping in and out of consciousness.  Almost immediately he flipped out of her grasp and landed a foot and a half away from her kneeling with one arm steading himself the other gripping the shoulder with the hurt wing. She heard him hiss as he used the free arm to search for something in his pocket. Moments later she saw him pull out some weird syringe thing with an oval on top. Apple jack spoke up at the display. “Now mister I know you are a little confused but you gott-“ her sentences was cut off as the stallion grabbed his wing and used the syringe thingy on it. A small hiss came from the device before he pulled it out sighing in relief before putting it back in his suit pockets. Rainbow watched in shock along with her friends as the stallion she had dragged in with a broken wing and unconscious stood in front of them looking nun worse for wear. -----------------------------------------------^------------------------------------------ Autumn remained standing regain his senses. Hearing gasps and whispers behind him he turned around to face who or whatever was behind him. Turing he meet five individuals standing before him with shock written on their faces. “Is something the matter?” surprised not by the five in front of him but by the fact he was in the hospital again. “Bu-but y-you were in her arms and-and we thought you be out but now…How?” the yellow one asked her voice soft yet concern evident. Miss Rarity and Miss pink were among the group. He decided to respond promptly. “Why miss I don’t know what’s going on. One moment I was flying observing the town the next I am back here with my wing crushed, in fact I say you all know more than I do. Would you be so kind as to fill me in?” Autumn said his voice calm but hinting at the anger inside. The yellow one immediately hid behind Miss Pinky pie, peeping over her friends shoulder at him. Autumn gave a raised eyebrow at the yellow one`s fanatics. “She`s rather anti-social” the purple one said in a matter of fact tone.  She stood out from the rest as she had wings and a horn on her head. This confused Autumn to no end. Had she been some defect born with both or some creation by a nearby lab? Super mutants had been known to create some foul results just by placing similar creatures together and adding the forced evolution viruses. Even more so when a competent scientist was doing the tampering.  Just as he was about to ask about herself she cut him off. “I’m twilight sparkle by the way. Princess, but my friends just call twilight, most of the town bows and says your majesty but it would be nice if you didn’t. I won’t force you to follow this request but as a friend it would please me.” Twilight said her eyes full of awaited disappointment at his predicted refusal of her request. “Why princes Twilight I am flattered you consider me a friend so soon after meeting me let alone to allow me ignore rank.” He could see her smile falter as he spoke the line ‘princes’ “but I think except those terms twilight.” he said smiling at the surprised look she giving him. Smiling back she looked over to her friends who were still standing by her side. Twilight than began introduced him to them. To her left was miss Rarity in a white dress who he knew from before. Miss pinky pie still donning her pink short skirt and top who he also knew from a previous encounter. Next the frightened Pegasus Fluttershy came up, she too wore a short pink skirt though she had a light yellow turtleneck sweater. On her right was Apple jack who unlike the rest had what he identified as a southern accent. She wore what her friends chuckled at as her signature tan Stetson hat with orange flannel button up shirt, jeans and cowboy boots. “and one of our fastest friends rain- hey where’s rainbow?” she said absent mindedly her eyes swaying to and fro around the room searching for something. Autumn how ever had spent the last five or six minutes listening to the mutie talk about her friends. He was in no mood to listen any more after waking up with a broken appendage. Giving the most sincere smile he could conjure he spoke breaking them all out of their search. “Thank you for the introductions. I however have had a long day and could use some rest. Later I can meet this friend you mentioned, you did say she was the fastest you know. More than likely she got bored and went out for some excitement. Miss Rarity could I perchance give you the uniform we discussed earlier and then we can all retire for the day?” Seemingly pleased by his words Miss Rarity gave a small nod in his direction. Following the conformation, Autumn gave his own nod as he walked down the hall on his left leaving the five in the main lobby. -----------------------------------------------------^------------------------------------------------- Rainbow dash remained still in the corner of the room. Currently she had flown into the high right shrouded by the lack of light there. She hadn’t meant to do that, but when he pulled out the syringe and it hissed that horrible sound she panicked. Luckily neither her friends nor him had notice she was gone until the end. By then he seemed to have blown them off and walked into the hospitals long hallways. As soon as he was gone she immediately caught all her friends staring frustrated in her direction. So much for not noticing. “Hey guys” she chirped anxious at her friend’s current demeanor. “Rainbow.” Twilight said her voice dripping with venom. “Get down here.” “Uh..fine.” rainbow replied letting herself glide down from her post. Landing on the floor she walked up to her friends current places in the room, mentally preparing for a lecture from Twilight. “Guys look I’m sorry for flaking out like that but really weren’t you at least scared by that whole act. I mean look one moment the hes laying there with a broken wing, the next standing up his wing looking as if nothing happened! Even if he was a unicorn, magic doesn’t work that fast. Something aint right. Not one bit!” she huffed crossing her arms to make her point. Twilight however wasn’t going to let her off that easily. “Your right dash even magic can’t heal wounds at that rate nor can a Pegasus do so on their own.” The five others all in a signature yelled “WHAT!” over the comment. “I said your right, but I didn’t say your reasons were right. In fact want you to find out how our friend did such an act. Then you can write a report about this situation and the aftermath. If you don’t I can always write to the princesses about it. They would most likely agree.” Twilight said smiling at her friend current situation. “Fine” Rainbow replied looking defeated. “But how can I get him to even spend that much time with me anyhow? Not like he would willing let me follow him or be in close contact any given time.” she said smugly. “You could offer up the guest room. Not like he has a place to stay in town really.” The main six turned in unison to the front desk. Siting there was none other than nurse Red heart sipping away at her coffee. “What? I keep my ear to the ground, not like any of you noticed me.” “Yea but how…when did you come in?” Twilight asked confusion prominent on her face. “Really? I have been sitting here all day your majesty, then you all show up waiting for rainbow Dash and still ignore me until I speak up.” She shifted in her chair before picking up her mug. “And ponys say I’m oblivious.” Nurse Red finished her sentence with a slurp of her coffee, an almost bored but contempt smile slid across her face. “She has a point what better way to learn about our mysterious friend then by having him in your house?” “The fact of having a stranger in my house. Not just that, its also a stallion. What would everypony say? You know the rumors that spread around town Twilight.” Rarity interjected “Rainbow I’m sorry to cut his short but that stallion is anything but a scoundrel. Earlier today he came into my shop a true gentle colt not even eyeing me in my robe. And if he can resist me, you certainly won’t have any problems.” Rarity winked causing rainbows eye to twitch out of sheer anger and embarrassment. “Fine but when I come knocking on your door don’t tell me I didn’t say so!” “Say so about what?” Turing to her left she saw the stallion in question hanging a lump of clothes on his right arm. He stared at her for a second but quickly turned to Rarity giving the bundle to her with three gold bits on top. “Thank you for taking my request so soon.” He spoke facing her friend. Returning to her he spoke repeating his earlier question. “You say so about what, Miss Rainbow?” “That..that-I-I would know you need a place to stay and-uh..i would be the only one to accommodate you?” she stammered trying to think of a reason she would allow him to be in her house without it being creepy. The girls only stayed behind the stallion demonstrating their dislike of her lying skill by various gesture`s ranging from face palming to mouthing out various curses.  Rainbow only smiled and prepared for his imminent rejection of her offer. What he said she never suspected. “Hum…Name your price.” his tone stagnant "That’s what I tho…huh?" Rainbow replied taking a double take on his response “I said I except your offer and I wish to discuss payment.” he gestured calmly “Uuuuu” she stammered until she formed “three hundred?” “Deal” he spoke, passing rainbow on his way out the door. Rainbow turned her head giving the girls the meanest glare she could muster. Turning back she walked out of the hospital to find the sky darkening and him standing outside waiting. “Just for formality’s my name`s Autumn. Augustus autumn. Yours be miss…” “Dash” she replied her voice cold. “Rainbow dash. Got it?” “Crystal” he replied his tone matching her own. “Good. Now keep up or I’m leaving you in the dark.” With that she took of speeding into the air. Her feeling of empowerment filling her ego with the idea of him lost in the wet night. Turning her head back she found, he was keeping up only he seem to be struggling with the turns and twist of her path. Perhaps she could lose him just yet. Well she could hope. Rainbow trotting up her door steps of her cloud home her unwelcomed guest trailing behind her. Undoing the lock she stepped into her home followed by her guest. “Feels like those slasher films.” She muttered entering the unlit house. “Yes, but I’m not dressed as my mother and you’re not in the shower.” Autumn replied his comment causing her skin to craw at the thought. “Yea. Your room is up the stairs. The left door leads to your room. The bathroom is down the hall on your right by some windows.” She directed trying to get this guy away from her as fast as she could. “Thank you.” He replied half  facing her on the stairs moving upward to his new bed. She watched him travel up into the darkness disappearing. The only evidence that he found his way being the sound of a door rapidly opening and closing in an instant. Sighing in relief she too made way to her room. Opening the door on her right she entered lowly. She closed it behind herself and was relieved that she was in her own sanctum. Walking past various wonder bolt poster she sat down on her cloud bed taking off her shoes, pants and jacket striping down to her underwear. Slipping into her covers, she rested her head on the soft pillow. Through her wall she could hear her new house guest himself slipping in his bed as well. Stiffing sleep for a moment she thought about how she was going to approach this situation. So far she didn’t like him and didn’t like her too.  How would he ever revile his secret to her? She really despised the girls for doing this. Couldn't they have just spied on him than force her to keep him in her home, talk about too close for comfort. Still it was a chance to prove them wrong like she does from time to time and rise above the challenge. Smiling she let herself fall into deep sleep dreaming of the glory that awaited her. //-------------------------------------------------------// 'Cause It`s a filler, filler night //-------------------------------------------------------// 'Cause It`s a filler, filler night The land was bleak. That obvious statement flew right over the red headed mans…head. He stood in the middle of the dusty cliff, a crumbling overpass on his back left and vault 101 directly in front of him. Or at least the shitty screen door that led to vault 101`s steel vault door. His iconic handle bar mustache wavered with his blowback hair. Shifting in his regulators uniform he took in a deep breath. A rad roach approached the strange man then stopped turning around to face in the opposite direction of him. “Sniper kitty in a hand grenade here and were doing a twofur mcdoffer in the world of fallout three!” the strange man blurted in a rather energetic and dimwitted tone. He spun on his axis lowing his head at the rad roach looking rather displeased by its behavior. “Steve!” he shouted. “Yes your ass is fantastic, but we are doing an intro. Be professional!” he spoke creasing his eyebrows at the small creature. Turning back his energetic personality he continued with his bland rehashed intro. “Today were doing fallout retextured.” He motioned to the ground its new skin slightly improved over it vanilla base but coming up short to Skyrim. He continued with his speech having let the metaphorical slide show pass. “And were doing fallout co-op. Yes Steve someone else to admire your ass. Kisses! Muwa! Muwa!” he continued on giving his affection to the animated cockroach. Far off in the distance soothing was watching our red head. jumping from its spot it climbed the rocky mountain scape near his position. The being in medic power armor approached him. In its hands it held the wazzer wifel. Impatient with the strange man it fired the weapon past him at a nearby rock. A sign if its growing annoyance. “OK-ok jeez keep your metal pants on. Well everbody our partner has arrived and is less than pleased. Lets get on with the mod review!” His voice renewed he jumbled off with his partner following closely. They both walked down the path into the small destroyed Neighborhood. He continued to blabber making various references and complaining that the mod didn’t like Mr. Cuddlesworth. Making way the two started to a large makeshift structure. They apprehend megaton on their arrival. Or the one in power armor entered with the trench coat one in tow as it murdered everyone from turning to ash to beating to death with their own severed head. He leaned in near his six legged companion whispering. “Steve. Steve! Whatever you do, don’t move or show your ass. Murders can’t see you if you don’t move or show your ass.” He remained in his stock animation position only ever swaying his arms ever so gently as screams of the dammed washed over them. His oblivious companion did not heed his advice and continued to move his head back an fourth at the ground. The armored murder waltzed back up the hill to their position. The two remained in their spots even as it approached them. ------------------------------------------------------------------^--------------------------------------------------------------- The lone wander was less than pleased. So far her mod companion had done little in the way of help her. This ‘alchestbreach’ had little to nun in the way of help with megaton. She even killed Mr. Burkly by her lonesome self despite him coming into the town with her. The frustration only mounted when the rad roach turned it back on her. In a fit of anger she disintegrated both mustache man and annoying beast from her game. Refreshed by the sudden clash of random murder the lone wander continued on her quest. Her spree took her to rivet city as she continued her cleanup of the city from the main section to the annoying doctor in the rear bow. Taking the big book of science with her she left the armored room pressing the button of the opposite wall. The ships door closing on the doctor’s blood decorated aboded. A smile greased her lips as she slipped one more out of the ship and onto the river shifting through its ever murky water. Flipping to her pipboy she fast-traveled to little big town a place that laid barren to the super mutant attack that raided it not long ago. The only reason she still returned to this picked over settlement was a particular super mutant she chained here. Walking over the rickety bridge she made way past reds old house and to a green mutant standing by the car wall. “Hey uncle leo” she spurted at the green mutant a eager smile on her face. “Yes. Here you are. What death have you brought on my brothers today?” he asked hes constant fluxing pitch. She continued smiling “well” she started. “Some masters were at a radio tower so I fixed my Xuanlong assault rifle. O-and at this capital building me and dog meat cleared it out of at least seventy five super mutants, it was great!” her smile continued as she closed her eyes recounting the memories she just spoke of. “Your accounts of mercy less slaughter do sicken me, but you are the only human to except a super mutant as a friend. So I am contempt.” The voice disinterested yet changing to an almost crying pitch. “Ha. Your right! Other than fawks you’re the only mutant I haven’t shot in the face. Alright see yea later!” she shouted her back already turned as she made her way out of the dusty town. Her short attention span persuaded her to move on to the citadel. Fast-traveling to the location she met the familiar sight. The pentagon as it was formally know now its grand design picked over and faded from glory. The once cement wall crumbled onto itself to from a defensive door with a large movable grate over the entrance. Walking past the guards she made her way to the front door entering the bailey. Making a left she entered another push door and into the deep loping hallways of the citadel to the main halls, to the laboratory. Standing ever displeased was scribe Rothchild mumbling something about reactor output and status of power armor. She found this was the perfect time to interrupt him. “Hey rot how it is going you over paid intern?” her smug and dissentient voice ringing over his ears. “Yes it`s you. Do go away, I have a important finding to catalog and encrypt.” He spoke waving his hand at the lone wander. “What sort of finding?” she asked genuine interest in her voice. “If you must know. Your little stunt at the activation of the purifier caused a slight malfunction. Over all its benign but a small temporal rift occurred when you fired a fat man by the G.E.C.K.” “Not my fault. Someone put a colonel in my way.” “Back to my point. A rift occurred not just around the purifier but the wasteland itself.  The events seem to be at Radom until we discovered what can trigger them. Luckily only nuclear devices seem to have enough energy to interact with the rifts. Otherwise we have little to fear.” The lone wanders body straitened at the mention of nuclear device before returning to her natural stance. “Thank you Mr. Rothchild. Have a nice day!” The lone wander chirped before skidding off to another part of the lab. Slowly her smile stretched into a demented grin. Bring up her pipboy she checked her mini nuke supply.  Her joy only exceled on reviewing her units available. Making her way up a few flights of stairs and two left turns she made way to a curtain companion.  “Star cross. It`s been a long time.” “Not long enough." she said her voice full of disgust and disappointment.  "I followed your father, you however lack that light for humanity inside.” “Not my fault that those paladins got in my way. They should have stayed behind when I told them. You know I can’t keep my finger off the trigger, it just itches ya know.” The lone wander said shrugging at her own remark. “Now you want me to help you? Despite your black heart, you desire my protection. I see no reason for me to follow you on your dark path.” Cross glared at the lone wander anger and disappointment apparent feature on her face. “O-don’t be like that I gave like two hundred purified waters to that homeless guy that is outside every town. See I’m good.” She flicked to her pipboy, confirming her status so far 235. The 'vault guarding' or it said on the screen. Cross looked at her squinting her eyes before nodding. Delighted by her companion’s choice the lone wander quickly made head way out of the labs. she zipped down and out the various doors and rooms that made up the underground stations. Passing through the last set of doors she and star cross exited the building and entered the side yard.On the outer walls by the snipers nest she told star cross to wait. Smiling while giggling like a mad man she brought out a guilty pleasure. Now most say the fatman is a waste on human enemies and only to be used when exploring the Deathclaw sanctuary. She however disagreed with that thinking. Taking a few choice steps back she positioned herself for the fireworks. Letting out a breath she pulled back the trigger letting a single mini nuke at star paladin cross. A bright light blossomed forth casting dark black shadows on ever object and shivering despite the suns glaring shine. Shielding her eyes she tried her best to watch the reaction. A few seconds passed before letting it self fade to  revile a scorched part of the cement ground her companion only recently stood. Chuckling she holstered her weapon. Standing there she stood stock still formulating a several devious plan`s under the steel helmet of hers. This was a welcomed change of pace. yes what a better way to spice up her day. Zecora breathed in the crisp air of the forest. She reveld in the wonders of the forest.  Breathing out she continued on taking in the various plants and animal across her path. only ocashenly she would drop down to adentifie a plant or root she needed for her brew. a sharp snap of a tree branch out in the didtance brought her out of her trance. on the corner of her eye past a scurrying squirrel, a pony in worn silver armor trudged through plant`s and vines alike. Calling out her response remain unheeded, perhaps they didn't hear her or maybe didn't reconized her speech. What ever their reason she continued onward in her quest for plants for orders she  needed this to fill this week. Who ever this visitor was she felt would make them selves present very soon. //-------------------------------------------------------// Yea I played fallout level 50 for life. (Real start of story) //-------------------------------------------------------// Yea I played fallout level 50 for life. (Real start of story) The capital wasteland was a dreary place. Over two hundred years of fighting and age had reduced once gleaming relics like the Jefferson memorial to rusted dust filled husk`s. Today however history was in the making as a giant pale blue robot made way over a brittle bridge. Girders buckled and groaned under its heavy footsteps. Its followers took little notice as they were too busy avoiding the incoming rockets that sent one or two flying over the edge. The Lone wanderer however was laxer than ever. She didn’t take stock of the upcoming confrontation with the rogue colonel. The only thing on her mind was when would the damn robot get on and bring down the force field. So far this mission had been the most boring one yet. At least raven rock had that whole go fuck yourself to Mr. ZAX computer-president Eden option. Though she could entertain herself by watching the body’s fly up in the air for now. The rogue colonel Colonel Augustus autumn stood still by the steps that led up to the purifiers control room. So much had gone wrong so fast. Hed had all of it in his grasp. Step.1 take project purity. Step.2 retrieve and install the G.E.C.K into the water filtration system. Step.3???? Step.4 reap the benefits as more people joined the enclave`s army, increasing its ever growing power. So what happened? The damn computer thought it was a great idea to bring the Lone wanderer into the base and give her freedom move about. Had they just taken the codes this would have not happened. But no the president decided he didn’t trust his second in command but her instead. This whole thing justified his fears of the president’s judgment. Sadly he didn’t get time to continue his thought as the brass door to the room swung open, followed by a rusted T-45d power armored solder holding over their shoulder a… the experimental MIRV? No this day had gone from bad to shit yourself and pray to the high heavens. Augustus stood there motionless never letting the Lone wanderer insane choice of weapon get to him. This however didn’t relate back to his body guards who despite wearing hell fire armor were making good use of its fecal matter disposal system. He attempted to get the Lone wanderer`s attention but was interrupted by her screaming “NUKE ME BITCH!”. Augustus and his men braced as the crazed girl fired off eight mini nukes in their vicinity. … … … “Awesome” finally spoke the crazed rust clad solder. She couldn’t believe she hadn’t tried that in the first playthrough. Still she couldn’t help but wonder what had happened before her. The room was surprisingly empty of body’s with only some blood stains on the floor. Checking her health she frowned at her state. Less than half of her max heath remained and her whole body showed broken bones. Shrugging her shoulder she flipped to her inventory. After twelve stimpak`s she took inventory of her supplies. 2342 ultra jet`s check 6754 mini nukes check 4345 stimpak’s che.. no only 3623 oookay used more than I thought. Rad-x at 675… once again more missing. Two or three hundred units gone but still good. 3… you got to be joking. The Lone wanderer lower her pipboy slowly revealing a flat face. Her eye twitched ever so often. She then threw her head back and released a scream into the room. “Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu --------------------------------------------------------------^-------------------------------------------------------------- Colonel autumn remained still as he laid on the ground face down. Groaning, he slowly used his right arm to push himself to his side, bringing the gloved hand to his face to wipe off the moist soil. Rubbing off the offending contents he stopped mid-way at a strange sensation of the glove moving across his skin. Instead if the usual cracked leather he felt an almost peach fuzz between his hand and him. Opening his eyes light over loaded his sense. After a couple of second the world came into view revealing a rather dark forest. Not that it being dark was unusual to him or forest, thought trees were rare now and days. That wasn’t what startled him. His vision seamed distorted, like he was looking out with a fish eye lens. On his face no longer the nose he had known for so long. In its place erected with his mouth was an almost stump like feature covered in a sand tan fur.  Slowly but steadily he brought up his hand to his face and removed the glove. Giving a short gasp, he took in its unnerving appearance. Long gone was the Caucasian skin, in its place he found the same tan fur that appeared on his face creating an almost feature less appearance. The now disturbed colonel turned his attention away from his self and to his environment for clues on his situation. Before he was at the Jefferson memorial and had felt the first hand effects of eight mini nukes and lived. But his appearance certainly showed the cost. No longer pure human, he was as far as he could tell mutated beyond normal circumstances. Hell most ghouls were closer to humanity then he was. But then again it might be a small mutation. Yea. Just a physical deformity. Nothing some anti-mutagen couldn’t fix…and maybe a couple of facial reconstruction operations and he be back to normal in no time. This thought was crushed as he felt two appendages from under his suit push out in vain from his back. From his back two appendages pushed. ones that were not his arms, two appendages not his…. He began to hyperventilate as this action repeatedly filling his brain with unknown sensations and feeling alien to him. Forcing his self-upright out of sensory overload, he stumbled into a tree. Taking hold he steadied himself on the dark barked plant. Taking a minute to calm himself he turned around and leaned on the tree, running his hands threw his hair only to snag on what felt like an ear on the top of his head.  Ignoring the ever more disturbing discovery of his mutated body he returned his focus on the forest area around him. Now despite being an almost fantasy to find a forest it was far less grand than what book`s he had read described. Shure grass was nice but the air was humid and filled with bugs. Trees were a neat experience but were no help to him as they block out the sun. The shade however did not conceal the dark lumps laying near him. Crouching and moving at a slow but steady pace the object came into view. The sight heaving his heart. The objects revealed themselves to be the power armored corpses of his former guards. His grieving turned to despair as he studied the twisted forms of their bodies. Though the armor hid much of the flesh he could see purple fur stick out under the neck seal. Slowly he removed the suits from each studying the strange changes in his fallen soldiers.  The head were the oddest thing about them, and perhaps the most familiar. Like his face or so he guessed they had what most would call a snout on their head. He too noticed the pointed ears siting on the top of the head than the sides. The eyes though were so enlarged it was comical. Had he walked in to a base or any settlement like that they probably be shot then and there. His luck turned as he pealed the suits off and slide into their form fitting embrace. Wiggling the helmet over his stretched face he was silently grateful that the dura-frame project had included space in the front of the helmet than squishing it back to save weight like he had suggested. Standing straight he flexed his muscles letting the suit react to his will. Smiling that suits sensors still worked with his corrupted form he turned his attention back on his fallen… _____________________________________________________________________________________ Having the last finished patting down the dirt Augustus stood up to take in his hours of work. Where just grass and weeds had taken root now laid two individual mounds of dirt. Despite his initial difficulty’s Augustus had given the fallen the proper burial they deserved. Taking the load over his shoulder of salvaged gear he making head way through the forest. Shifting between various worn and grown over paths he finally cleared the dens forest in a manner of hours. Looking over the hill a sight surprised the infallible colonel. Had he been expecting a town? yes.  Was the town suspected to be small? Sure. Was the town supposed to look like it came out of a story book? Sorry but no that was not on the list. Colonel autumn remained steadfast in place by the sight before him. Down in the valley below was a town that looked almost as untouched by the ravages of time as no signs of decay or shady repairs appeared on its unblemished surface. Shaking himself from the sight Augustus half walked half jogged down the hill side towards a large white building on the outskirts of town. ------------------------------------------------------------^------------------------------------------------------------------ Nurse Red heart sat comfortably behind her desk in the hospital. Normally she would be off work by now but button burner had called in sick earlier. Still she enjoyed helping ponies. Thought what happened next was out of the norm even for this town. A large creature came through the open doors heaving a giant bag and stopped right in front of her desk dropping said bag on her desk spilling some of its contents onto her desk space. Form first glace she spotted several syringes filled what she could only guess as morphine. The rest was a mystery as it varied from small mint tins to huge plunger syringes covered in tubes intertwining with one and other. She could only give a blank opened mouth stair at the pile of narcotics thrusted upon her. Breaking out of her concentration she turned her attention back to the dark creature standing in front of her. “What are you?” she spoke her voice trembling. The monster before her seamed it give its own variation of a huff almost gawking at the idea that she didn’t know what it was. “Miss I be only a humble scavenger here to unload his wares of all sorts of useful items. For a fair price you see.” The creature replied it voice swab yet commanding. “You do have the caps to trade of courses?” Now Red heart sat confused again.  Caps? What currency was that? All she had heard of was the horrid griffin trade of iron bars with their kings symbol on them. “Caps…I..I don’t believe I know what that is. We only except bits here.” She replied regaining her poster in her chair. Shifting back and forth in fibrous seat she picked up one of the small syringes filled with a clear liquid. “You know… we haven’t had a shipment of morphine in almost a year…” she dropped off focusing on the liquid splashing back and forth in its dull metal container. “This is morphine right?” The creature remained silent for a moment before replying “Why yes it is and there`s more of it in the bag if you want to trade.” It remained prominent in its stance before replying. “Perhaps one or two for a bed for the night. I haven’t had a shower in a while and this armor as you can see is less than comfortable …could you by chance spare some clothes as well?” Nurse Red heart raised an eye brow at that last statement. What pony would wear such….a clunky form of protection, even the royal guards had form fitting uniforms. This this was junk painted black that strapped on. Then of course this town was filled with weirdoes and expanding as time went on.  “Sure…the room in back is open. Thought only for a while, but we might have a few stray articles from former patients that they left behind. Take a look you might find something that fits you.” He nodded his head and picked up the mess of medical supplies on her desk leaving only two syringes in front of her. As he drew from the room he turned back facing her. “Just for formalities my name`s Augustus Miss…” he peered down as if reading something. “…Red heart?” he spoke in an almost questing tone and turned back on his way -----------------------------------------------------------------^---------------------------------------------------------------- Augustus autumn quickly dashed out the hospitals main room and in to the many halls that filled the building. Passing by rooms he began to ponder over his recent conversation with the mutant out front. Now he had a better understanding of the situation. He was as far as he could tell some were up in former Canada. How else could you explain the non-hostile manner she conversed with him. Better yet she was unarmed a most rare sight now and days. The trees though what probably sealed it form him, that and they still had a working heath care system. Looking to his side he could almost see the room Red heart mentioned. Walking forwards towards the south corridor he came upon the brown wooden door. Opening slowly Augustus found his expectations were underwhelm by the bland room. Like most it had a bed with light turquoises sheets with a door that led to what he assumed was the bathroom, a closet door and mirror rested on the opposite side wall. Sauntering towards the closet Augustus began to peel off the hell fire armor and tuck it away under the bed. Returning to the mirror he finally took in his form. Form earlier observations he was in fact covered head to toe tan fur. He still had his trade mark dirty blond hair and brown eyes. His eyes though were no longer pin drops but saucer plates on his face or what could be called his face as he like the creature outside had what looked to be a muzzle. Though his was more angular probably a trait exclusively to males. His ears too had moved. Now they rested on top of his head, a most disturbing sight to see, one that they seemed to understand and folded down on his head. Taking deep breaths Augustus moved his attention to his back. Slowly removing his light grey under shirt he studied his new appendages that unfolded from his back side. Like the tan fur covering his body they too were the same color. They were however not arms but wings. Wings like a bird had. Not gangly mutations but fully developed wings! Sighing at the sight. His ridiculous appearance set even more strain on the already exhausted colonel. Walking to the bed he let himself down only to find his wings in the way of his normal sleep patterns causing him to twist in turn to get comfortable. This was going to be a long night.
