//-------------------------------------------------------// With stars I stay -by Icanhazmochi- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue This was nice. Staring at the wide open night skies, lying oh so peacefully under its all-seeing grasp. Its undying beauty captivated me, willing me to gaze deeper into the infinite depths of space. Tonight I was alone. Every Friday night, this is where I came, what I did. On any one of hundreds of rolling green hills spanning in every direction, you would find me gazing at the stars, quilt under my back, earbuds in my ears, nobody accompanying me. I can’t remember why I started, or why for that matter, but I’m glad I did. Never for anything would I give up doing this every Friday night. Massive project that I need to spend practically every hour of my time on? Get it done before or after. A cute girl asks me on a date? I'll tell her I'm busy. I ponder my thoughts while gazing upwards into the white specks of glowing haze, speckling the night sky in a brilliant show of light and power. I do it all while listening to a one hour playlist I refine and tune each week. I only choose songs that inspire me, that wish for me to create something, to do something in this universe. Maybe that’s why I do this strange ritual every Friday without fail, to motivate me to keep pushing on despite the fact that we still don’t know why we’re here. But this is is why I’m here, to stay motivated, and to keep pushing on, to keep dreaming to something I don’t know will actually happen. But maybe if I will it hard enough to, it will come to me in time. As I ponder these thoughts, the last song in my playlist (https://soundcloud.com/mitis/mitis-born-free-download) comes to begin, the one song that I haven’t changed since I first began this strange ritual many nights ago. I reveled in every beat, I soaked in every sound, and I felt like I was being born again. Strange as it is, I felt like a new person every single time, never breaking my gaze above until the last second of my hour is up. Soon into the song, stars started to shift, if ever so slightly, aligning themselves differently. If not only slightly, nevertheless maintaining their beauty and majesty for all to see. I was perplexed by this, but I never broke my gaze, thinking it was only my imagination. As the seconds ticked by, each one was brought to a stop, resting in their rightful places. I felt at peace with this, never had the glorious night sky ever looked more… Perfect. At last, the final seconds of the wondrous song slowly faded away, and so did my consciousness. Thanks, brain! =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= “Yawwwwwn! *Mlem mlem mlem*” I woke with a start, not wanting to open my eyes, until I realized that I wasn’t in my bed, but still on the quilt, earbuds tucked in my ears. My eyelids snapped open faster than a bolt of lightning. “HOLY CRAP WAT NO DANGIT… Oh wait it’s Saturday I don’t have anything else to do…” It was still early morning by the time I woke up, but I realized that even for it being this early, there were no signs of any running cars nearby. I couldn’t even hear a single engine through the surprisingly quiet Spring air. But it felt… Nice! I’ve never really fallen asleep after stargazing, but it felt amazing to wake up to the warm greeting of the morning sun instead of the whirring of air conditioning and whatnot. I felt like I was free from the modern world at the time, I felt more peaceful than I’ve ever truly felt. Buck me did it feel amazing. Now, I should… Wait, did I just think buck me? I shrugged it off, probably some sort of brain fart from early morning drowsiness attacking me again, as well as the brony factor kicking in. Yeah, I’m a brony, come at me noob. Getting back on track… Now I should probably pack up and get home! Gingerly, I tried to pluck the earbuds from my ears, only to find that they were much higher up on my head than expected, much higher. Also, my fingers apparently weren’t working because I couldn’t even feel them, let alone move them. I sighed and thought it was probably numb from cold, even though they didn’t feel cold at all. So I looked at them to see what was wrong. But they weren’t there anymore. Ohohohohoh were they not there anymore. Instead, mere inches from my face, was an undeniably, one hundred percent real, lavender, pony, hoof. But no, this had to be a dream, right? So I made the wise move of facehoofing myself. On my muzzle, right on my nose. “Oww what the buck?! Wait crap I said it again! What the hay? WAT?!” I finally started moving to get onto my feet, getting my brand new mane tangled and stuck into my eyes, which I realized, was a mix of light grey and darkish mint color mix. Soon afterwards, my earbuds fell out of my now Equine ears landing on the area around me. As I tried getting to my feet… Erm… Hooves, it felt incredibly uncomfortable. Nevertheless I continued struggling to get into a bipedal standing position, only to fall uncomfortably on my newfound flank. Which, I found upon inspection, was blank, which, upon realization, meant I was naked, and which, upon realization that I should probably cover myself, and finally, I came to realize that  what has always been down there had been replaced. I promptly cried. And cried. And cried like there was no friggin’ tomorrow. Like a filly. Realizing that I actually was a filly now only made me sob harder. Again. “Are you ok?” **Ohhhhh* no. *It’s *her***.
