Love is sweeter than muffins

Today would be the day. Pianissima was up and ready for the concert. She was Ponyville's most famous violist, and as she stared out her window, she thought to herself, "nothing will go wrong. I just know it." Or so she thought. She heard her next door neighbor, Derpy Hooves crash into her lamp once again. This happened at least every week, and since Derpy couldn't afford to buy a new lamp herself, Pianissima bought one for her. If she didn't have the money or just had some craft supplies around, she would make a muffin lamp. Maybe if she did favors for her, she'd leave her to practice her viola, Muffin, of which was named after Derpy's favorite food: muffins. She knew how happy it made Derpy that Pianissima went out of her way to do nice things for her, or at least do her favors. Derpy wondered why she did this. Maybe she was an actual friend. Derpy didn't care, as long as she could talk to Pianissima without getting made fun of or yelled at. She hoped that it would always be this way.

            Pianissima found she came to enjoy doing favors for her neighbor, whether it be playing for her, buying muffins at the bakery, or just getting a new lamp, she just enjoyed the mare's company. She didn't know why. But what she did know was that it was 5:00 in the evening, and she still wasn't washed! She hadn't even put her instrument in her case! She picked up the slightly scratched viola, set nicely on her bed, and put it gently in her case. Of course, she gave Derpy tickets to the concert as well. She promised front row seats and everything high class like that.it would make her feel special, she knew.

           After she had washed, gotten into a dress (although she preferred tshirts) and brushed her teeth and did her mane (rather messily) she headed off to Derpy's house to pick her up. She didn't care if her glasses were a bit scratched, or if her mane wasn't fully brushed; she could do that in the bathroom before the concert. Right now, what mattered most is getting there on time!

          Pianissima arrived at Derpy's house, only to see that she was sleeping on her couch. With an annoyed look on her face, she went up to her and shook her awake. "wake up, for Celestia sake!" She yelled. Derpy was shocked awake.

         "Don't do the again, please! I was having a dream about being in a muffin factory! I was just about to sample a Chocolate Chunk Supreme muffin!" Derpy was rather annoyed that her dream had been interrupted,

          "Well, if you wanna come to the concert, you'll have to accept the fact that I had to wake you up. Now let's go."

           Still annoyed, derpy reluctantly got a muffin out the fridge and said, with a mouth chalk full of muffin, said, "let's go."
