Vinyl Scratch and Octavia have come to terms with their love, and everypony in their families have given approval. They have gotten married, and decide to adopt an unplanned baby, and help support the mother. Symphony is a beautiful filly, smart and pure, but she's deaf. Vinyl and Octavia care for her, and try to share their love of music with her. She's bullied at school, her only friend a disabled colt named Rasberry. Then she meets a pegasus named Black Card.
