The spikes from the paint Look like pictures to me They make strange shapes That I wonder about This ones a monkey, Or perhaps a trout But either way you see it: chicken or sword, I am sitting here, staring up, being bored //-------------------------------------------------------// What is Death? //-------------------------------------------------------// What is Death? What is death? What is it really? Is it the time to to leave the earth? A path to another universe, or the way or to the rebirth? The Buddha’s meaning, To connect with yourself, Is that what the point is? To reach nirvana, And connect with gods, Is that all that death is? Do you end because you have completed life and shown yourself worthy, and that you have learned all the meanings to learn? What is death? What is it really? //-------------------------------------------------------// Problems by Truman (my friend) //-------------------------------------------------------// Problems by Truman (my friend) If your bus breaks down On your way into town Don’t worry, ‘cause it’s no big deal If your car won’t start And you don’t feel smart Don’t worry, it’s not an ordeal What if I told you I have problems too You’d probably say you’re more down Trust me it’s fine You don’t want to know mine My jetpack won’t come off the ground //-------------------------------------------------------// What Was That? by Nikki (my friend) //-------------------------------------------------------// What Was That? by Nikki (my friend) What was that, that sound? That noise in that room, Who is there? It gave me quite a scare, Ahhh! The closet door squeaked! Oh, No, the door is opening! Oh, Hi Mom. //-------------------------------------------------------// Who Am I? //-------------------------------------------------------// Who Am I? Nobody knows who I am, they know my appearance, my hobbies and fandoms, but they don’t know who I am, not really. They don’t feel what I feel, or think how I think, or understand exactly what I mean. Nobody, not one person in this world, knows who I really am, Not even I. //-------------------------------------------------------// Puddles //-------------------------------------------------------// Puddles Splish Splash Wet //-------------------------------------------------------// Colors (by multiple friends of mine) //-------------------------------------------------------// Colors (by multiple friends of mine) YELLOW Oh, hello there, fellow You look weird in yellow Oh, you're going to cry? I might try to stop one day, (I will be happy then at last,) “No more!” I’ll say, I durst not say what I said last. But as for now in this plague, I am securely trapped, In words transparent, soft and vague, My patience almost snapped. I shall curse the one, That wicked evil creature, Who caused this to be done, I will scream and shout, (Though not today,) “Curse you English Teacher!” //-------------------------------------------------------// Luna by Daphne (my friend) //-------------------------------------------------------// Luna by Daphne (my friend) At first I was the full moon, Incent and bright. Then an urge turned me to a new moon I became a horrid creature and was sealed away into the night. After I was released I was the half moon I was no longer the darkness but that was how I was seen, against my might. And now I am slowly waning back to that beautiful full moon back to being a wonderful, guiding light. //-------------------------------------------------------// WHAT? by Dawn Gem //-------------------------------------------------------// WHAT? by Dawn Gem What are we? We could be a small thing on the universes knee. What is the world? Just a fold? We all know this though we are all in our own show we are all our own and that is all that is known. //-------------------------------------------------------// Wind //-------------------------------------------------------// Wind Wind I am the wind, blowing slowly, lightly through the warm summer breeze. I put flow into the emptiness of the air, making it feel like a mid-spring day. The cattails bow to me, but the trees stand tall, proudly waving their branches in my presence. I am calm and gentle, for nobody runs from me like they do when the storm clouds arrive. No one questions why I am here, I just am. I bend the corn stalks, and howl in the midst of the night. I am lonely, yearning for a friend, but I am alone. I am fine this way, I am a solo breeze, blowing into the heat like a gentle breath upon your bare skin. I own the air, and control the rest. I am the wind, blowing slowly, lightly through the warm summer breeze. //-------------------------------------------------------// Disney World by Julia (my friend) //-------------------------------------------------------// Disney World by Julia (my friend) The cold bars on Expedition Everest, Our juicy, delicious breakfast, Mickey and Minnie taking a break, freshly baked funnel cake, my mom calling my name again and again, Sadly, the fun has to end //-------------------------------------------------------// My Meal by Ryan (my friend) //-------------------------------------------------------// My Meal by Ryan (my friend) I tiptoe down the stairs, And shiver in the nighttime airs. I reach the bottom floor An errand many would deplore. My stomach rumbles angrily, But I make it wait, stubbornly. I pull on a small nylon jacket, softly and devoid of racket. Finally, to my belly’s delight, I go down a long stair flight. I travel to the cold dark cellar, Which is full of food, pristine and stellar. I look around in my ecstasy, an choose out a tasty delicacy. I throw together my tasty snack, and go back upstairs to hack. I chomp and crunch and chop, My meal mixing with spittle and slop. My happiness and joy overwhelm me, And my heart races with warm energy. Then I wipe up my face, In a fervent race, To run up the stairs, In the nighttime airs.
