A new book
The Book
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIt was morning. Of what day, I don't know. My head was still all foggy. I slowly walked over to the calender to check. Cleaning day. It's always the worst day of the year. Re-shelving every single book to make sure that it was in order. The process takes forever, but it was necessary. The time to start had arrived, so I went to get Spike. I looked at his bed, but he wasn't there.
"Spike?" I called out his name to see if he'd answer. Not surprisingly he didn't. I figured he was hiding, so I went to go look for him. He wasn't in any of his usual spots. "Spike, stop acting so immature. You need to help me re-shelve all of the books." He didn't show, so I went outside to look for him. I stepped outside into the fresh air, with the bright sunlight glaring in my eyes. I checked around the library, to see if he was hiding in any of the bushes. Nothing. I was stumped. I sat down and thought for a moment about where he could be. He wouldn't be able to get up the tree and hide in the branches, so the only other logical solution was that he went somewhere in town. My first guess was at Sugarcube Corner, so i started walking over there. It was still morning so the streets weren't to crowded. When I got there, I saw Pinkie outside. I figured she was helping open up shop. She turned around and saw me.
"Hi Twilight! What a super fantasterrific morning it is!"
"Hi Pinkie. Have you seen Spike? It's re-shelving day today and I can't find him. I thought he might be here."
"Well let me think." Pinkie sat down and tapped her hoof to her chin for a while. Nothing happened for almost a minute.
"Umm, have you seen him?" I interrupted.
"Seen who?"
I facehoofed. "Spike." I said through my hoof. Sometimes I really worry about Pinkie.
"Oh him? No. I was thinking about what happened to my muffin this morning.
"Okay. Tell me if you see him."
"Okie dokie lokie!"
I started to walk over to the Carousel Boutique, since it was close enough. It was still early, so hopefully this search wouldn't waste to much time. I had a schedule to keep, and all of Spike's shenanigans were very time consuming. I'm not sure why he would be at the boutique, but something tells me this plan wasn't thought out well. I walked up to the boutique, and knocked on the door. Seconds later Rarity pulled the door open.
"Why hello Twilight! What bring you here?"
"I'm looking for Spike. I woke up and he wasn't anywhere to be found."
"Why ever would he run off like that?"
"It's re-shelving day."
"Ooohhh. Now I clearly see why. Anyway I have not seen him. If I do so I will make sure to tell you immediately. Well good luck finding him."
"Thanks. By the looks of it I'm gonna need it."
I turned around and started back to the library. I was out of ideas for where he could be and Fluttershy, AJ, and Rainbow all lived too far away. I guess Spike won this round, but if he tried again I would make sure to find him.
