'They say greedy monster is asleep'
Celestia’s sun had no chance for breaking through heavy clouds which were covering sky for all day. It was obvious that after heavy rain like that, ponyville’s river was about to burst, so entire town was building embankments to stop the flood and keep, both buildings and citizens safe.
Pouring water had washed out few last remains of dirt from Rainbow’s body. She stepped out of the shower and started drying her mane but quickly got tired of it and she simply wrapped her head into a towel. She was too exhausted to even sleep so she just lied down on her sofa.
‘So what now?’ thought Rainbow Dash ‘Too tired to do anything but one more minute of doing nothing and I will go mad.’ Building embankments wasn’t the worst thing. It wasn’t even half as bad as listening comments, that this whole situation was her fault.
“You were stopping rainclouds for three weeks. What the hell have you thought?”
‘They have no idea about my work! If they only knew... No! It’s time to relax. So...’ She went to the bookshelf and started reading the titles. ‘”Daring Do”... I have read it five times... “Stallion who smiled”... Not a good time for a thriller... “Silence of the lambs”, “Mare with dragon tatoo”... SHIIIIIT!’ Rainbow punched shelf and grabbed a her hoof because of sudden pain “Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!”
She lied down on her sofa again hoping she will maybe fall asleep. There was huge advantage of living into cloud house. Silence. There was no sound of pouring rain or thunder. Everything perfectly muffled.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
So, what the hell was that?o
KNOCK! KNOCK!
Somebody was outside.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
“Damm! I’m coming!” shouted Rainbow ‘Who the hell is that? If it’s another frustrated pony I swear I...’ but it wasn’t a pony. When she opened the door she saw the last person she was expecting to see. Purple dragon with a rucksack on his back and guitar in his hand was standing in front of her, completely wet but... smiling. Smiling in the way only he could, with a mix of sheer happiness and boisterous grim.
“Hey Rainbow. I’m sorry for that late visit but... I’ve just lost my job and it seems I’m homeless.”
Spike took another swallow of a warm tea and felt heat wave spreading from his stomach to the entire body. He was coughing badly and his body was shaking every time he made a rapid movement.
“Geez Spike, looks like somebody was on the rain far too long.” said Rainbow Dash teasingly but in fact she was very worried, especially about those shievers.
“I...(COUGH! COUGH!)... was sick a bit earlier but the rain made it worse.” said Spike and took another swallow of hot liquid. “Thanks for letting me stay here for a night.”
“You’re welcome, stay here as long as you need to. Spike... forgive me but I just can’t believe that Mayor had fired you just like that.” said Rainbow. Actually, she knew that Mayor was able to do such a thing but she didn’t expect that she will treat Spike like that.
“She told me that she had sent me a letter, in which she had written that she wants to “finish our collaboration”. I told her that I didn’t get any letter, so she simply blamed Mailpony.”
“But... I still can’t believe that she didn’t give you a time to...” continued Rainbow but was interrupted by Spike.
“And now, we’re getting to the best part. I couldn’t stay any longer because her niece “had to got used to the new place”” Spike finished his sentence with a laughter but there was no sign of happiness in it.
“You were replaced by... her niece?! It’s an action against the law.”
“Mayor have taken care about everything. Her niece has got “bigger quallifications” because she had been studying at the university”
“So you were sacked because you’re not Master of wahatever?”
“Yes! And would you like to know what Mayor’s niece had been studying. She was studying “marionette acting”. Get it? She’s fucking Master of puppets! I should be angry or upset but it’s so funny.” Spike smiled to Rainbow Dash while she was still shocked by what she had heard.
“Shit!” she finally regained her words “No doubt she couldn’t find any normal job...”
“So she asked her aunt for a favor. I guess she wanted to give her that job earlier but she couldn’t because Twilight was Celestia’s student. But now, Twilight is in Canterlot, living every filly's dream.” Spike finished his tea and now was looking a little better than before. “And nothing is illegal beacause Gold Oaks Library is the property of a town.”
“Sounds like the worst day of your life”
“Trust me. It’s not even half as bad as the fourth one.” said Spike and smiled again in this special way. Smile under which, every mare’s heart, including Rainow’s, was melting.
“My day was awful either, if that makes any happier.” said Rainbow and turned her face to hide blush.
“Why am I supposed to be happier when my friend is suffering after flooding the town. Don’t give me this stern look, I’m just teasing you.” Spike chuckled and patted Rainbow’s shoulder “So what’s your story?”
“Well, let’s say that I also had a problem with Mayor. She wanted to have sunny weather for Harvest Festival so she told weather patrol to stop rain for three weeks. Can you imagine? Three weeks! I can’t believe how stupid she is. And also how stupid I am. I should have known that she will use me as scapegoat. I can say “farewell” to my pay rise.” Rainbow stopped for a moment to take breath “The worst thing is that the owner of my house had rised the rent again... It seems I can’t afford living here anymore.” Rainbow’s eyes suddenly widened “Of course! Why I didn’t think about it earlier. You can live with me. Trust me. We will pay the rent together. It solves everything, you’ve got place to stay and I don’t have to move out!” Rainbow was full of enthusiasm.
“I don’t think it’s a good ide...” Spike tried to resist but was cutted off by Rainbow.
“Don’t worry! I’ve got second bedroom here. I’ve been using it as storage room but give me one day and I will...”
“Rainbow! I’m sorry but I asked you only to stay for one night.” Spike said with saddness in his voice.
“What’s wrong with you. Everypony would take this offer in the blink of an eye.”
“Maybe you didn’t notice but I’m not a pony. Listen, I don’t want to talk about it.” Spike stood up and started moving forward the toilet but was blocked by Rainbow.
“I don’t understand. You’re homeless, you have no job and when somebody offers to help, you’re refusing.”
“I don’t have money to pay for the rent.”
“Oh, come on! You know it’s not a problem. I will pay the wholerent until you’ll find some job.” Insisted Rainbow.
“I’m not going to stay in Ponyville!” shouted Spike “Is that what you wanted to know?”
“What do you mean?”
“There is no reason to stay here.”
Rainbow Dash couldn’t believe her own ears “What are you talking about? You’ve got friends and...”
“Really? Half of the town still hates me for my birthday incident and the second half treats me like Twilight’s servant.”
“It was about one and half year ago. And what about me? Am I not your friend?” Rainbow felt anger growing in her.
“I can’t tell you anything more.” Spike started to get annoyed.
“Okay, as you wish! You know what! I shouldn’t even make this offer! You’re having fun with yourself, you don’t need to have any friends!”
“Get yourself a stallion and you will have somepony to scream on!” said Spike and entered the toilet slamming the door.
“Fine! I don’t need loser like you as a flatmate!” screamed Rainbow and dashed to her bedroom.
Rainbow was lying on her bed and crying when she heard opening door. Spike entered her room and sat on the bed.
“You’re not sleeping. Good, because I wanted... I wanted... I’m sorry. I reacted like that because... nobody has ever showed me so much care and... I didn’t know how to react.”
“You’ve got strange way of showing gratitude.” said Rainbow sniffing
“It’s because... I don’t know how to say it but...” he didn’t finish, he just pushed his lips against hers. Rainbow was surprised but she didn’t resist. When they have separated Spike tried to say something but was cutted off by Rainbow. She wrapped her forelegs around him and pulled him closer. She then pushed her tongue and surprisingly for her Spike opened his mouth. One claw was tickling her between her wings and the second one went down to her belly.
“Rainbow, are you sure...” he didn’t finish, being cutted off by Rainbow’s kiss. Before she could realize her wings were fully erected. She moaned as Spike’s claws grabbed her flank and pulled her closer. His penis went out of scale pocket and entered her...
Rainbow Dash woke up breathing heavingly. She put a hoof between her legs and felt that she was wet. It was just a dream. She looked around just to asure that she was alone.
