Ponies are either working, at school, or just hanging out. There is a time of the year where all the stress of work goes away. Celestia calls it "summer" because it is the time she raises the sun the most. Luna would call this a vacation for her because she didn't have to raise the moon as much. Everypony has to make the hard decision of choosing where to go for summer vacation, but most ponies want to go to Sun City. If you never heard of Sun City, you probably were thought of new to Equestria. It is known as one of the most populated cities because of its warm weather, huge beach, amusement park, skyscrapers, hotels, and much more. Everyone at Sun High School is anxious to get out of school for the summer. If there was anyone that was excited for summer the most, it would be Julie Star. She was always fashion forward. She was the top of the top. She was the mare that was the role model for most of her peers. She was always playing it nice for teachers, but is a little sassy when it comes to places out of school. It was the day before the last week of school. Julie was talking with her friend, Patty. "Could I borrow a pencil," asked Patty. "I only have this one, and you know how much more important I am getting my homework done than you getting your homework done." Patty rolled her eyes and said, "Fine. So... what are your plans for the summer?" "Duh," exclaimed Julie, "hanging with my BFFs." Patty gave Julie a hug. "We better get to your house before it gets dark," suggested Patty. The two mares raced home side by side. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Introduction to William Sand //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Introduction to William Sand Ponyville: the place where little fun happens during the summer. Fillies play on the streets, adults relax, but what are teens supposed to do? They've had their fun as a filly, but they still want to have some sort of fun. One teen that lives in Ponyville is not a big fan of summer. His name is William Sand. The irony of his last name being "Sand" doesn't help his depressing thoughts of summer. It was the Saturday before the last week of school. William's mother walked into the room with a basket of laundry. She placed the laundry down while looking at her son sitting at the window. His eyes just peered outside at all the fillies playing in the yard. His mother wanted to do something about this. Later that evening at the dinner table, his mother spoke to him. She said, "Guess what. I have some great news. We are going to Sun City for the summer to visit your father!" William dropped his fork on the table. His eyes opened big. "Mom," said William, "why are we going there?" His mother replied, "because you need to have a fun time this summer and look on the bright side of things." William and his mother continued the discussion. "What about school?" "You will finish your last week of school at the Sun High School." "What about my friends?" "You'll see them next school year!" "What if I'm made fun of because I am new?" "I'm sure that won't happen. If it does, then the school staff will probably help you." "Probably?" "You have to pack your things. We are leaving tommorrow?" "Don't I get to say bye to my friends?" "I will get the phone book." After calling all his friends, William packed all his belongings, and followed his mother to the airport.
