Dimension travelling is a strange and hard to grasp concept. All the intricacies and minor details associated with it make it difficult to understand, much less do. Project Harmonics has managed to calculate and perfect their methods to make it so humans can travel through doorways to other worlds. All of this for their world that's quickly dying, planet Earth is in grave danger from a powerful threat. Tiny nano-machines that are able to self multiply have been dubbed The Black Tide, and they're slowly eating the earth. These machines are driving humans off of Earth, so when they happen to find a lovely land suitable for them to move to, they attempt to learn all they can about the other worlds inhabitants.

Skylar wakes up in a strange place, she's not exactly sure how she ended up there. With little effort at all she finds she's in a research facility for something called Project: Harmonics. After some careful snooping she gets caught up on what's going on in this facility. She tries to lay low in the facility, but there happens to be a big announcement. Finding the perfect solution to her problems, she volunteers to help with their studies.
In an attempt to save both worlds and return to her own, Skylar works with the only other volunteer willing to go through with the process. When you're being monitored by various probes and cyber implants, it's hard to keep a secret.
