Prince Noctis Prologue (Prologue Part 1)
It was just an ordinary night in Equestria. The Moon was glowing with enchantment, the stars twinkled in harmony, there was not a single disturbance to be found. The royal couple of the night, Prince Noctis and Princess Luna were in their throne room, simply relaxing. It has been about a year since peace in Equestria was established. Things went incredibly crazy after Acerbus, the king of the dark realm, had managed to escape his imprisonment in the dimensional rift. His escape was only possible due to Noctis and the other's making a simple, but grave error. When they rescued Sora, the mother of Princess Luna and Princess Celestia, as well as Star Swirl the Bearded from the purgatory in which they resided for thousands of years within, they had forgotten to close the gate itself, leaving the dimensional rift able to be re-opened with ease. Luckily however, with the help of an old foe, good had prevailed over evil, and King Acerbus and his dark army were vanquished at last.
The night was filled with serenity. Noctis and Luna resided in the throne room, simply admiring the night that they created together. That very night, it was the one year anniversary of continued peace and harmony in the kingdom of Equestria. The once adventure filled and exciting past intruded into their minds as they reminisced on those good times. "Oh Luna, its hard to believe that its already been a year since we've managed to maintain the peace in Equestria. I mean, I really am surprised that we haven't gotten ourselves into any kind of mess considering how just last year, we were literally magnets for bad luck. I have to say, once Evil Anon was defeated, things really stopped being so chaotic. Things are so peaceful now, that its actually starting to get a bit boring."
"I must say, Noctis, I have to agree. Peace is what I wished for for my entire existence. My life was never truly at peace, and while the peace was nice while it lasted, it seems my soul itself desires the action and the trouble and the adrenaline of battle. I mean, even Nightmare Moon and I have everything completely worked out. Things aren't fun anymore. It is a shame that our lives together have become rather, routine." Luna had said, with remorse and sadness as she kept her head down.
"You know Luna, I miss the good old days when we just spent our time having fun with everyone. We haven't had a day to simply relax and do as we pleased in over a year. Not only that, but I miss Vergil, and I miss Synergist. Man, that was a crazy experience. When I was in Synergist's universe, everything was so different and strange. It was a whole new world, and it saddens me that I had to leave it so soon. We could have done so much in that world together."
"Ah yes, Synergist. I remember him well. He was the one who had aided you and helped you find me in his world. I still can't believe such a minor error in Twilight's spell caused us to end up in a whole other universe."
"Heh, yeah, it was pretty crazy. Don't get me wrong, I was pretty frightened at first, but everything grew on me. It sucks that Synergist didn't want to come here with us, he would have made a hell of a friend."
The two continued their reminiscing on the past until they decided to do something else. Luna and Noctis then both agreed to leave the throne room, and perhaps go take a visit to the colonies to the north and south that they had rediscovered while on their journey two years ago.
Once Noctis and Luna leave, Discord appeared out of the corner and spoke to himself, "So, life for those two is getting boring now, is it? I do say, things have been rather less entertaining over this past year. I mean I caused them so much chaos, but it seems they have become accustomed to all my tricks, and I don't enjoy pulling the same old tricks on them either." After much pondering on what to do to solve this dilemma, Discord finally came up with an idea so dastardly and clever, that it would forever keep their lives interesting. "That's it! I know exactly what to do. Why it will be so chaotic, that they will never see whats coming! Of course, now I need to contact the Discords of the other two universes, and then my plan will easily come to fruition!" Discord spoke to himself with a smile on his face.
With the snap of their fingers, three Discords finally make their dastardly and clever plan come to fruition at long last. The Discords smile with devilish glee. The next thing that happens is that the whole universes begin to tear themselves apart, creating one mixed dimension of pure chaos. It was as if the three dimensions were three different pieces of fabric, and they were all being torn apart and stitched back together into one big quilt. Now obviously, this ripping of dimensions didn't just simply happen instantaneously, it took a few minutes to actually happen.
Prince Noctis was just relaxing at the Canterlot Gardens while he waited for Luna to return from the Castle. She claimed she had forgotten to bring something, and she wanted to present it to him. He couldn't get her off his mind. Then, all of a sudden, a wall of white light was coming straight at him. There was nothing but a white, empty, soulless hell beyond that wall. Prince Noctis began to sprint back to his room in the castle, until a nearby tree had somehow grabbed him, and caused him to be sucked into the void.
Noc was just about to leave for his adventure vacation to go sight seeing all around Equestria, going where thew wind took him. As he boarded the train, the very same white wall that had done away with Prince Noctis in the parallel universe. Noticing that it was obviously a threat, he had just began to run away, then taking flight, and flew away as fast as he could. He took a glimpse behind him, and noticed how everything was just being sucked into this white void. Noc was obviously frightened as all hell and then began to speed and fly, crashing into other confused pegasi in the air, plummeting down to the ground. The fallen Noc was then sucked into the void against his will.
As soon as he was sucked into the void, Prince Noctis had been falling down from the air, surprised to see that the void wasn't really a void, but a demented and twisted version of the world he had once lived in. Things were out of place, and it looked like the entire world was being held together by magical threads. As he got up, he saw a familiar face in front of his own. It was none other than Synergist. "Synergist? Is that really you? Holy crap! What the hell is going on?"
"Oh hey Noctis, long time no see eh? Honestly, I'm not too surprised to see you. A lot of crazy shit has been going on, and now the sky just sent me the craziest shit of them all, you."
"What a way to welcome an old friend, eh? You know, its funny, Luna and I were talking about how much we missed you and all the others. Your world was so different, and I loved it. I guess a part of me considers that place home. So, how long have you been stuck here for?"
"Oh, this is actually what's left of my world, I was sleeping, and then all of a sudden, I wake up here, in the middle of nowhere, not all too long ago."
Noctis and Synergist catch up after not having seen each other for a year now. They continue to share their experiences from the past until a pegasus pony comes out of nowhere and falls right on top of the two.
"Oh hi there, thanks for breaking my fall, pals. It probably would have been painful for me to hit the solid ground from that high up."
"Maybe we should test it out, see if you would be in pain." Synergist had sarcastically responded. The three ponies then all stood back up. They wiped the dust off of themselves and properly greeted each other.
"Hello there, my name is Prince Noctis, the prince of the night. Nice to meet you, stranger."
"My name's Synergist. I'm the pony you just landed on."
Startled by the first pony's name, a face of shock and awe appeared on Noc's face. "Wait... your name is Noctis? And you're a prince?"
"Yeah, I've been married to Princess Luna for about two years now. A wonderful marriage, I must say."
"HOLD IT! That's just impossible!"
"What do you mean? Obviously it is."
"No, its not. First of all, my name is Noctis, though my friends call me Noc. Second of all, I am not a Prince! Third of all, how the hell would one even be lucky enough to marry a princess? You'd have to be some really high class pony."
"Listen here Noc. Look at me, LOOK AT ME! I am an alicorn for pete's sake! An ALICORN! As in both a pegasus, and a unicorn. Such a form is only achieved by being royalty. I'm really surprised that you and I share the same name, but in context to what the hell is going on around here, I assume you're from some alternate dimension. I mean Synergist here is from a different dimension than mine anyways, so its the only explanation"
"Well, this is certainly interesting. It looks like you and I are counterparts of each other."
"We could be, Noc. Though, I feel the only things we have in common are our personality and our connections to Luna. I highly doubt you've ever been or even heard of a human."
"A what?"
"Exactly my point."
"Sorry, Nocshits, but we need to find out what the hell caused us to be here. This shouldn't be happening, but it is. We need to find out the reason. No offense, Noctis, its good to see ya, but man, no, just no. I was happy with my peaceful life, I don't need this shit right now."
"We should try to find out whats going on. Luna and I were going to spend some time relaxing at the Canterlot Gardens until this all happened."
"Well, Noctits, how about we check, I don't know, that really dark, ominous, gloomy looking castle just a few blocks away? If anything, that screams antagonist headquarters to me."
"You got a point, Synergist. Alright then, lets go before this hell gets any worse. Noc, you coming?"
"I'm not someone who was really cut out for adventure or any of that crap. I'm only good at really trivial things."
"Well, I guess its time for you to find something new to be good at Noc, because where we're going, we don't need the law."
"I'm not going to be a part of this. Find some other imbecile to be your third musketeer, because I'm out." Noc said angrily. Noctis and Synergist then looked at each other, nodded, and departed without Noc. Noc stood there firmly, just watching them leave and eventually turned around and started heading in the other direction. However, Noctis' and Synergists' plan to use reverse psychology prevailed and Noc began to run to catch up with them. "You know what, nevermind. Hey guys! Wait for me! I changed my mind!"
"Oh, look who came crawling back", Synergist jokingly stated.
"Yeah yeah, I know, I know. This was pretty stupid of me and you saw this coming from a mile away. I admit, this is a pretty cliche thing to do." Noc then sighed and apologized. With a smile on their faces, Noctis and Synergist accepted the apology and the three went to go confront whoever was behind all of this at the obviously antagonistic castle.
Meanwhile, within the castle, the three Discords were fooling around in their respective parts of the castle until someone else had all called them to the center meeting room."DISCORDS! COME HERE NOW!" the mysterious man enshrouded in the shadows of the dark castle screamed. Predictably, they obeyed the command and reported straight to the room.
"What do you need, you diabolical doofus?" One of the Discord's had said
"Yes, I too want to know what you want, you pretentious psychopath." The other Discord added in
"Oh darn, you two took the good ones. Whatever, what is it that you want?" The third and final Discord stated.
"Well I personally think that it is obvious what I called you all here for. Discords, I thank you for freeing me from my prison, but even I hold no true power compared to the true demon, my parallel universe counterpart. He has powers I can only dream of getting. Powers that rival your own, Discord. I ask that the three of you use your chaotic magic together, and free him from his purgatorial prison."
"Do you not know the consequences of our actions if we bring him back? Really? Do you not know what he accomplished in my world? Why the 4th wall was completely annihilated. No mercy was given to that poor thing. Why he even hijacked the story and began to write content all by himself! He not only is evil, but he is a deranged, damned, maniac. I highly advise against it. I mean, I'm all for some good chaos, but he just takes it too far."
"Too far Discord? That's a surprising statement, coming from you. Regardless, I want to rule this new universe. This universe is three dimensions compiled into one. Its the equivalent of ruling every kingdom in three different worlds! I will conquer all!"
"Sure, you may conquer it all at first, but I assure you, this being is capable of things you can't even fathom." Discord 1 replied.
"Those are pretty big words, coming from some lowly prosecuting attorney from Equestria. Oh boo hoo, Noc came around and showed you your place, how terrible. Something is not right with you if you want to pursue such a path." Discord 2 had stated.
"Ah yes, but you all still are letting me rule here anyways. And besides, I used to be a gang leader when I was young. I have leading experience. I took over entire cities with my gang. But of course, I disbanded the thing for the sake of the fact that I was getting sick of the incompetent members within the gang. Anyways, I demand that he will be brought back at once!"
"Perhaps we should wait until our guests arrive first. I want to toy with them so badly. Show them my new tricks and all." Discord 1 stated as he pointed towards Noctis, Synergist, and Noc slowly approaching the Castle Gate.
