Once Upon a Time in Canterlot

It was a quiet and peaceful day in the city of Canterlot. As It should be. Princess Cadence was getting married in the center of Canterlot so everything, even the city, had to be perfect. To think that the princess would have her marriage here.

Some people, however, did not attend the royal wedding. Among those people was Octavia Melody.

Octavia sat at a wooden, circular table at an outdoor café. The waiter poured steaming hot tea into a glass cup and placed it on Octavia’s table. Octavia sipped the tea and sat it back down on the table. The waiter resumed servicing the other customers.

She enjoyed the peace and serenity. It certainly beat being forced to listen her roommate’s ear shattering dubstep music that she played everyday.

Suddenly, something crashed into a nearby building. Octavia looked up to see what caused the crash. What she saw was far beyond the likes of which she could have ever imagined.

What she saw was not a bird nor a plane, but millions of dark colored humanoid type monsters falling from the sky. Green aura wrapped around the monsters making them resemble green meteors. From the side angle, however, the green aura was gone and it could be clearly seen what they looked like. They appeared to have wings and holes in their bodies.

The monsters crashed through another building. And another... and another. Citizens scattered in fear as the buildings fell down.

Octavia noticed someone jump out of an open window. He landed on his feet and ran hurriedly away from the crumbling building. Before he could get far, one of the beasts, who was already on land, tackled him to the ground. The monster drew it’s hand back as a glowing green orb generated in it. The monster thrusted it’s arm towards the petrified man. The orb exploded upon impact. The very building that the man had escaped  from collapsed on top of his corpse and the monster that killed him.

Octavia simply gaped in fear as she watched as the man died. Her eyes were now as wide as a deer in headlights. What are these beasts!? Octavia turned her head away from the scene of killing and saw someone sprinting towards her. She quickly realized that who she saw wasn’t a person but another beast.

It lunged at her from the opposite side of the table with it’s mouth open revealing it’s sharp fangs. It was coming right for her!
