When you sleep for one-hundred years its hard to dream... you start to lose focus, a gloom of broken hope and failed dreams you wanted accomplish resonate around you. My mind begins to wander and all the while I've have been in one place for a century. All the things that I could have done differently, like gone with Twilight on adventures when I was just a little bit to tired. I even could have tried to talk to Rarity more... she was so beautiful, flowing lavender hair, an amazing outfit whenever she went out. I hate thinking about it, my body is so weak from a long slumber, I can just feel a tear running down my face. Its been a century and I think I'm ready to leave this sleep! I can't wait to go see Twilight and Rarity and everypony else! Wow a smile, its been so long since that has happened, with all my might I try to open my eyes, I would have never thought waking up would be this hard! C'mon my soul shouts to my body! Then with a sudden jolt I slowly open the crusted lids that impaired my vision. Finally I'm awake and I can leave this Celestia forsaken cave, ugh its been one-hundred since I've moved these old legs, I chuckled to myself. Something seemed wrong, the cave was gloomy and the sun didn't shine at the entrance? Well that's weird usually Rainbow would be right on those clouds, happiness shines on my face remembering that awesome attitude and smile, and who could forget how twenty percent cool she wanted everything... I make my way to the edge of my cave overlooking the small town of Ponyville, it just doesn't feel right. "Hello!" I shouted, no response, where is everypony? Not a moment to soon Princess Celestia is by my side. "Princess! Its so great to see you" I exclaimed, "Oh Spike, Its been so long." she said sadly, "What is wrong Princess? Has something happened?" worried I ask, "Indeed, I have grown old and I have waited, I have waited for you Spike, I didn't want you to be alone when you emerged from sleep." sorrow fills her eyes as a tear rolls down her face. "Oh Princess please don't cry! I'm not alone, I still have Twilight and Rainbow, Pinkie, Fluttershy, oh and who could forget Rarity.... Right?" I shout, "Spike I'm sorry" she says, "Wha- What do you mea-, wait, you don't mean!" I say panicked, "I'm truly sorry Spike, they all waited as long as they could just to simply say goodbye, they are gone." tears flowing down her face now, "What have I done... Its all my fault and this STUPID dragon sleep! I'm so stupid, I should have waited!" I scream, "All is not lost Spike, before all of them passed they each left something near your old bed, now Spike I'm sorry to have to do this but I need to go now, please know this, they all loved you very much." she says, "Wait no, I have more questions! Dont g-" she was gone... //-------------------------------------------------------// Twilights Letter //-------------------------------------------------------// Twilights Letter Spike if you are reading this that means your awake! It will have been a full hundred years, wow, well as you must already know, I am gone... and before you get to sad don't you worry! I am always going to be with you Spike, your emotions must be crazy right now but calm your heart and slow your breathing, remember when I told you that when you were just a hatchling, those were the days. I am sorry I couldn't wait long enough to see you before I passed but I want you to know I am watching over you and I will always watch over you, you were like a son to me and all I wanted was for you to be happy, I also want you to have my element, it is very special to me and I want you to keep it in reminder that no matter what you will have a piece of me with you. While you were asleep every single day I would go up to you and give you a kiss on the cheek, now I don't know if you felt it but it was my way of showing you I was there and I wasn't going anywhere! Oh Celestia, I'm crying now, please Spike keep hope in your heart and never lose hope that we will see each other again. Wow, its so beautiful, I put the Element with the rest in my bag, and open the letter. Dear Spikey Wikey, First I wanna say WOW YOU SLEEP FOREVER! Its been so long, I miss the feeling you gave off when you were around and that I hope you like the cupcake I left you, it might be a little rotten by now but its ok! Remember the first day you and Twilight came to town on that GIANT BALLOON! and then I screamed and jumped over you that was funny, you should have seen the look on your face. Don't I throw great party's! I was going to throw one for you, if you can't notice already all the streamers and balloons around you, I LOVE BALLOONS! I say quietly, "I know Spike, I know... but its best you get going Fluttershy's letter wont read itself!" she tells me happily, "Alright Princess Celestia, thank you" she was gone. How does she do that I ask myself, oh well I've got to get to Fluttershy's home! Its quite a ways from Ponyville, maybe if I try one more time to open my wings I can get there quick! "GAAAHHH" the pain is excruciating! Finally they are open, now if I can jus- and before I knew it I was flying! Oh my god I'm flying! HA I am actually flying! Wow now I can get to Fluttershy's house way faster! -sometime later- Good now just to land...*crash*...ouch, not what I had in mind but I'm here! I go to her door and open the overgrown frame, plants were sure thriving here but no Fluttershy, there it is, her letter and Element. With Element in bag I begin to open the letter and it reads. Um, hi Spike, sorry I don't usually do this but I wanted to tell you that I am really happy that you have finally entered your century long nap. I just wish that I could have learned more about dragons before you left, I went and checked on you every once in awhile just so I could see how dragons sleep, I knew I didn't need to be afraid of you. I also want you to know that I really will miss you, I remember the first time I saw you, you made me so happy because I had never seen a baby dragon before, you are definitely my favorite one though, even though we didn't talk much I want you to know that um I love you, and my life would have never been as awesome as it was thanks to you, well I need to get back to Angel, he's acting grumpy again, oh and one more thing if that's alright you need to go see Rarity, she has something for you. -Love Fluttershy //-------------------------------------------------------// The Final Piece //-------------------------------------------------------// The Final Piece I break through the front of the house! I asked, "When you left to go into sleep the power of friendship fell apart Spike, you held the power of Equestrian friendship, along with every other pony here, so when you left... it just all fell apart, so now its up to you. You must go to the ruins of the Elements of Harmony and re-unit their power and only that will save Equestria!" with those final words I flew into the sky and bolted to Everfree Forest where the ruins where located... As I scanned the trees I couldn't see anything until I caught a glimpse of a wall! I flew as fast as I could and as I got closer I recognized it, "This is it" I screamed. As I landed in front of the castle I scanned the outsides, I made my way through the broken doorway and into the first chamber. I'm standing in the very place that Twilight stood to capture the Elements of Harmony, I walked the path up to the main room, wow this is where Twilight, Rainbow, Pinkie, Rarity, and Fluttershy defeated the Nightmare Moon. I know what I have to do, and I lay each of their Element infused item it the very spot they stood, nothing happened. "What? Whats going on!" I yelled, this was supposed to work, this was supposed to fix everything, "I'm sorry, I never meant to break the bond of friendship! Please I miss my friends!" right as those words left my mouth a bright light shined in front of me, beckoning me to go in. At first I was unsure but then through the other side I could see Twilight, and everypony else in the library! I ran as fast as I could through the light. My eyes bolted open "Ah where am I?!" I yelled. Then I see Twilight enter the room and relief flows over me, "Its ok Spikey, calm your heart, slow your breath, you are safe..." //-------------------------------------------------------// Ponyville? //-------------------------------------------------------// Ponyville? Dreary and saddened I try and pick up my wings, I'm still to weak to fly. I lie down right where is stood and just sob, you will never know how much I loved you Rarity... that alone brings me to the point of death, just to die and be with them again. No, I need to at least see what they left me, maybe it will shed light on my questions, well better get to it, its a long walk to Ponyville. Step by step my legs carry me closer to my salvation, I begin to day-dream about Twilight, I can't even say that name without bringing a tear to my eye, running through Ponyville together and doing crazy adventures. Even the day you, Rainbow, and Rarity saved me from the mean dragons, if only they could see me now, bigger and stronger then they would be. Whats this! Ponyville is empty, "Anypony there!" I shouted, only to hear the blank echo bounce in and out of the deserted homes... Has it really been this long! Princess didn't say anything about this, about Ponyville, Oh yeah I need to get to Twilights house! I make the most lonesome walk through what used to be a flourishing town... Here I am, home, after an immensely long time, the door creaks with old age, "Hello?" I whisper, no one, I make my way through the library, God, everything reminds me of her. At the very place I slept a century ago there lay a letter and... Twilights crown from the Elements of Harmony! I pick both up and set the crown down on her bed, the letter says on the front, "Spike please read this, love Twilight", I sit on the floor and open the letter. //-------------------------------------------------------// To Apple Acres //-------------------------------------------------------// To Apple Acres Oh Twilight I am so sorry I couldn't stop the hibernation, you know I would if I could, I love you too. Well off to Sweet Apple Acres, hopefully Aj and Rainbow have more happiness to give. Its kind of a far walk but I can't really keep track of time anymore. "Sweet Apple Acres, ah I'm here", now with less hope of finding someone I still call "Hello!" and just as expected no response. The barn! I open the doors to see two letters and also two more Elements of Harmony, these are Aj's and Rainbows, a smile comes to my face for once after I awoke. I pick up Aj's letter first and open it. Well howdy there Spike! I thought it would only be fair if I left a letter to tell you what you might not already know. Since you've been in hibernation, I think that's what you call it, anyways we have all had some good times, so if your feeling any guilt or remorse don't. We all loved you so much and know that you loved us back! The farms been going just dandy and Rainbow has kept the skies clear, from my heart Spike I want you to know that you were a heck of a friend and even better dragon then any of the others were, for one you didn't burn any land and you actually have a heart, remember when you saved the baby Phoenix from those three horrible dragons, that's truly what counts! Anyway its about high time I get to these tree's, they ain't gonna buck themselves! -Love, Applejack Hey buddy! On the flight over I couldn't stop thinking about how nice everypony was to me and now I will have finished my quest and go on to do who knows what! I land definitely better than last time, my loves house, well better late than never. I walk up to the door, hm that's odd, it seems as if it has been cleaned... I creak open the door and the light from the outside lands perfectly on a sparkling necklace and letter. Well what did I expect, I walk in and pick up both items, I inspect the necklace and put it around my own neck, perfect fit. I then proceed to open the letter, prepared for anything and everything I read. Dear Spike, I've been waiting... "Spike?" a voice comes from behind, "Whoa!? Who is there?" I say frightened, "Its me" the shadowed figure walks out "Rarity", "Rarity! Oh sweet Celestia! Thank you!" I cheer, "Spike I haven't got much time to explain but I need you to know I have always had some sort of strong feelings for you" she say weakened, "Rarity what happened? Are you ok?" I ask, "Spike I know this must be hard to comprehend but its ok, Twilight used a spell to extend my age temporarily so I could say this. You need to take all the Elements of Harmony back to the ruins we all had gotten them, only then will you truly be happy!" Rarity explains, "Alright Rarity, I'll do it, and one more thing Rarity?" I say shyly, "Yes Spike, What is it?" she asks, "......I love you" she smiles, looks into my eyes "I love you too Spike" and we embrace each other! As I embrace her she falls to dust in my arms, I'll do this for you, and everypony of Equestria!
