A New Nightmare Awakens

''Sister!'' That brought Nightmare's head up, what she saw was Luna looking at her with extreme loathing and hatred. ''Why?'' She ask, ''Why did thou kill our big sister, Celestia?'' Her eyes were misty by that point, quickly overcome by her sadness of losing Celestia, who was killed by her own little sister.

''Luna I killed her so that we too can be love by our subject, which is now made possible with Celestia gone.'' She said a little distraught by Luna's reaction, after all they both hate Celestia and her damn sun one thousand years ago, 'is that not the case anymore?' She thought with dread, unable to believe that Luna of all ponies has forgiven Celestia for scheming against the both of them.

''No sister of mine, you killed Celestia because you were afraid of her, afraid that I would love her more than thee, guess what your suspicion was right I love her more than thee and now she is gone, forever.'' Now her tears were running freely unable to stop themselves.

'Could it be it, that I was the one who was jealous of Celestia and not Luna?'' Now her eyes were getting wet as well, from the realization that she caused Luna, her beloved big sister, the greatest amount of pain imaginable. She wanted to run, run and hide and never be seen again for what she did to Luna, but the guards that were surrounding her made sure that she could not escape with all the magical tethers they casted, that was attached to her body. Instead she just let herself fall to the floor, hiding her face with her fore hooves, unable to look Luna in the face and see the face of the one pony that mattered to her hurt, hurt by herself no less.

After a long moment of silence where neither of them said anything, only silently weeping for the loss they both suffered. Luna's loss was Celestia while Nightmare's loss was Luna, one was dead the other still alive but hated the other for what she did and never wanted to see her again. In the end Luna regained her senses and called out, ''guard bring the criminal to the throne room where she will be judged accordingly to Equestrian law.'' And without further needless words she turn around and passed the still open door and close it for a full second, before opening it again to let the guard pass.

When they pass the door it closed behind them in a loud bang, and with a audible that signified that the lock was in place. The room had changed in the full second the doors where closed from the cheerful white associated to Celestia's sun with the sun emblem engraved in the ground before the throne and behind it. To a gloom dark associated to Luna's night with a crescent moon engraved on the floor before the throne and behind it, to signify the change that recently occurred. Siting upon the throne was no one else than Luna herself, watching the proceedings as judge and executioner, while the jury where sited on both side of Luna.

On Luna's right was the Element bearer, the six mare who represented harmony, kindness honesty generosity loyalty laughter and magic. Even with the realization that she did hurt Luna by killing Celestia, she still hated those mares. On Luna's left where sitting, at least what she thought from the way they carry themselves and their attire, the six most influential ponies of Canterlot. All thirteen of them were looking at her with pure unaltered hatred with their red glowing eyes... wait red?

Then abruptly everything fades to black until a bright flash of light signify the end of her Nightmare.

Nightmare Moon woke up in cold sweat, screaming Luna's name like her life depends on it. Looking around she realized that she was not back in Equestria but that she was still in Ryan's apartment. The sound of something heavy hitting the floor came from Ryan's bedroom and out he come, looking around worried that something horrible had happened while he was asleep.

Ryan's look of fear was soon replace by one of confusion, seeing Nightmare holding her legs close to her chest sobbing and muttering Luna's name over and over again and something else like, sorry. 'Whatever happened to her in the past must have been painful, and truly horrible for her to react like that!?' He thought, since seeing Nightmare looking like a frightened child who just saw her parents murdered in front of her made him realize, that Nightmare haughty attitude is probably more like a way for her to cope with what is happening to her right now. 'Being thrown out of her own world must have been more a shock to her then I realized at first yesterday?' With that thought in mind he made his way to Nightmare silently so has not to disturb her too much.

He took Nightmare's shoulder in his hand, sat behind her and started rubbing them in a comforting manner, while murmuring in her ears soothing words. ''It's okay Nightmare you're safe, no one from Equestria can get you here,'' he said as reassuringly as he could, ''I mean after all you're here and they are back on Equestria, and unless they can do multidimensional travel they are stuck there!'' He finish with a little joke, which seems to work seeing as Nightmare sobbing, and shiver, seems to have stop.

She looks behind her with tears still flowing from her eyes, right into Ryan soft green eyes. ''Hold me please, I do not want to be alone again!''

He wraps his arms around her chest and do exactly as he is, told not letting her shivering form go while still murmuring soothing words in her ears.

After a few minutes of Ryan comforting Nightmare distressed form, she finally calms down enough for Ryan to let her go without worry of her panicking again. ''Thank you Ryan, I needed that.''

Ryan look into Nightmare's eyes and for the first time sees them as beautiful not even in the slightest bit creepy, okay maybe a little bit creepy. Nightmare look's back at him with true happiness, and something else she does not identify.

''If you don't mind me asking, why is your past seems so horrible, and who is this Luna you kept muttering?'' He say with genuine care, only trying to understand Nightmare's fear of whoever this Luna is, after all it's not the first time he heard her say that name.

She tense up, only slightly and say, ''maybe one day I will tell you, but not now, now I only want to leave this in the past, for now.'' She say as she get up and start walking toward the bathroom, for a quick and refreshing shower.

Ryan look up at Nightmare departing figure with a little smirk of confidence and say, ''I'll hold to it, and no chickening out!''Nightmare swiftly, and gently, close the door behind her with a little laugh.

''Damn what a strange morning that was, but then again I should have expected something like this to happen, at least I'm glad I was here to comfort Nightmare!'' Ryan said to himself, unaware that Nightmare was listening to him through the door with a smile plastered on her face, and with that he goes to the kitchen to prepare today's breakfast.
