Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spike's Adventures in Duel Academy

That day was a quiet one. If we didn't count the flapping of wings, the constant crying, and also a Joy Boy playing some emotional music, then it was a quiet day. There were several ponies there: the Main Six, Zecora, the Doctor and his wife Ditzy Doo, etc. The owner of the Joy Boy was Button Mash, and he was with his marefriend Sweetie Belle. A group of the ponies were the Canterlot Symphony. The four were Octavia, Harpo, Frederic and Beauty Brass. They started playing a song that Button recommended:

As the coffin was put into the train, the residents of Ponyville, the Princesses, Shining Armor, and several ponies from the Crystal Empire entered the train. The faces of the Crystal Ponies that attended were ones of sadness since they lost their savior, however their savior was now a legend. The Royal Sisters had a face of minor guilt, for they had seen so many ponies and loved ones die that they didn't feel the pain of losing loved ones anymore. Last but not least, the Mane Six had guilt upon their faces, all for different reasons: Fluttershy for the death of the one who helped reduce her shyness, Rainbow Dash becuase she wasn't there for her only dragon-blood friend, Applejack because she left behind somepony that saved her life, Pinkie Pie because he made good pastries and brought a smile to her face, Rarity because he was the only one that truly loved her even though she never returned the feelings, and Twillight because she was Spike's guardian yet she forgot about him. The train ride was a very long one. Their first stop was in Canterlot, where Sapphire Shores, Fleur de Lis, Photo Finish, Doughnut Joe, and Twilight's parents got on the train. The train ride continued until they reached the Crystal Empire. There, nearly all the Crystal Ponies were waiting at the train station. The crowd followed the ones who got off the train until they reached the Crystal Heart. The Doctor opened the coffin, and there was Spike, with the face of death written on his face. One by one, several ponies left him something in his coffin, for they believed in the Afterlife. Luna left a worn out leather journal that looked like this:

, Celestia left a storybook called "Tales of the Duel Monsters", Applejack left him an Apple Pie, Pinkie Pie left him a sapphire cupcake, Rarity the bow tie she had made for him long ago, Rainbow left a copy of the first Daring Do book, Fluttershy left an emerald, and finally, Twilight left him a picture that had him with the Main Six. After they gave him those objects, the caretaker from the Crystal Empire, known as Carter Slade, along with the help of Big Macintosh, Soarin', and Caramel, lowered Spike's coffin until it reached the bottom of the hole. After the coffin was placed in the hole that was in front of the crystal heart, the Caretaker began to fill the hole with dirt. Several minutes passed until the Caretaker finished his job. After that, many left for their homes to continue their sadness. The only ones who stayed were the citizens of Ponyville and Canterlot. Today had been a sad day for those who loved Spike, however they didn't know that the young drake was in another dimension, awaiting results and seeing what the future would bring for him.

Der Faust's Journal

Entry 001

It has been one day since I've defeated Dr. Vellian Crowler. He was very challenging, but I made it through. I'm currently in a chopper that's going to land in a couple of minutes. Academy Island looks like a great place. There is a volcano, a big forest, the academy, and last but not least, the dorms. I am ready for what the future brings me, and I hope to triumph in this world, for in the other world I was only destined to be a librarian's assistant.

• Spike

Spike was in a chair, sitting and waiting for a Blazer. He kept on waiting until a tall man gave him a Slifer Red (White/Red style) blazer.

The color of the blazer doesn't define your capacities, it just defines your status in the academy, Spike thought.

Spike put the blazer on, and he looked at himself in a nearby mirror. I don't look bad. He then headed for the classroom, where the new students would receive an important message. The classroom's screen turned on, and in it was a man that said the following:

"Good morning students, I am Chancellor Sheppard. I am very happy that all of you are our new students and will form part of the best place to learn about Duel Monsters: Duel Academy." The one who said this was, as he said, Chancellor Sheppard.

"I hope you enjoy it here, and I hope you all have a nice day!"

As the screen turned off, Spike wondered: Where will I be staying? He then received instructions from a uniformed man. After several minutes walking, he reached the Slifer Red Dorm, which looked more like a couple of apartments than a dorm:

Beggars can't be choosers. Spike walked over to the small building and looked for his room. It was a one-person room that had a kettle, an oven, a sink, drawers, and a bed. This'll do just fine.I think I'll explore the campus. Spike walked around until he reached the Obelisk Arena:

"*Whistles in amazement* Man, this place is impressive," Spike said out loud.

"Chazz Princeton is using this place right now," a voice said. The voice belonged to the guy who looked like this:

"And who exactly is he?" Spike asked.

"That would be me," another Obelisk Blue answered. Chazz Princeton, a rich Obelisk Blue, was the owner of that voice.

"I am the one and only Chazz Princeton, what are you doing here Slifer Slacker?" Chazz asked.

"Nothing, I was just walking around campus," Spike answered.

"How on Earth were you even accepted here?"

"I had to defeat a such Crowler,"

Chazz was shocked, but couldn't believe it: a Slifer Red had defeated Dr. Vellian Crowler. And on his first try, to top it off.

"Well you better not be around here slacker, because the next time I see you here I am going to-" Chazz was cut off by the voice that belonged to an Obelisk Blue that had entered the arena.

"What are you doing here, Chazz?" a female voice asked. The voice belonged to a blonde-brown haired female teen that wore the female Obelisk Blue uniform. Her name was Alexis Rhodes.

"I was just teaching this slacker a lesson, why are you here?"

"I am looking for you because Crowler sent me to get you: your welcoming dinner begins in a couple of minutes."

"Thanks for that Alexis. Let's go guys, we shouldn't be with this Slifer. And by the way, be here at midnight slacker, the loser gives the winner their best card," Chazz said to Spike, before leaving.

"Sorry about that, I shouldn't be here," Spike said to Alexis.

"No, I should be sorry, for I know him. He picks on the lower grades just because he is one of the best students here at the Academy," Alexis answred.

"Who are you, by the way?"

"Oh, I'm Alexis Rhodes. What about you?"

"My name is Spike Der Faust, I'm a Slifer Red, and I'm proud because even though I've only duelled once, I defeated this such Dr. Crowler!"

Now, Alexis Rhodes was surprised. He beat Dr. Crowler? she thought to herself.

"I'm very impressed since he is the best teacher here at Duel Academy. In fact, I would love to talk a bit more, but we must go to our respective welcoming dinners."

"I guess you're right Alexis. Listen, thanks for helping me right now, I hope we can see each other some time."

"We will Spike, we will."

As Spike walked away, Alexis began thinking: That kid has potential, I am very sure of it. I just hope he doesn't accept this duel, I fear that he loses his best card. Although he seems a bit interesing...

Obelisk Arena

Midnight

"I see you came slacker," Chazz said with his snooty tone.

"What kind of a man would I be if I didn't accept a challenge?" Spike answered.

"Be ready to lose your most valuable card, slacker!"

"We'll have to see that right now."

They turned their Duel Disks on, and they both exclaimed:

"DUEL!"

1:Chazz

Chazz drew five cards and said: "First, I will set three face-downs, then I will activate Regenerating Mummy in Attack Mode!"

"I will end my turn."

2: Spike

"I will activate Harpie Queen in Attack Mode!"

"Now Harpie Queen, attack that Regenerating Mummy!"

Spike: 4000 - Chazz: 3900.

3: Chazz

"I activate my Spell Card, Snatch Steal!"

"This card lets me take control of one of your monsters. However, you gain 1000 Life Points during each of your Standby Phases," Spike said.

"Now, I will summon Chthonian Soldier, in Attack Mode!"

"Now Chthonian Soldier, attack directly!" said Princeton while Spike flinched due to the received damage.

"But I'm not over yet, because I still have your Harpie Queen. Harpie Queen, attack your master!"

"Nngh!"

"I will end my turn to get you out of your misery," Chazz said.

Spike: 900 - Chazz: 3900

4: Spike

I now have 1900 Life Points due to Snatch Steal's effect, however I have no monsters, and with a blow from my Harpie Queen, it's goodbye to my Dark Magician Girl, however it also depends on the card I draw, Spike thought. He looked at it and thought: This'll do just fine.

"I'll set a face-down, and I'll end my turn."

5: Chazz

"Now, Harpie Queen, put him out of his misery!"

"Not if I can handle it!" Spike said. "I'll activate my Trap Card, Mirror Force!"

"WHAT?!?!" Chazz said as both monsters were destroyed.

"I notice you know what the card does: it destroys all the monsters on your side of the field that are in Attack Mode," Spike said.

"Ugh, I end my turn," Chazz concluded.

6: Spike

"It's show time!" Spike said as he drew his next card. But then, a known voice called out:

"What are you doing here Spike? You shouldn't be here at these hours!" Alexis yelled.

"Is it forbidden to duel here at these hours?" Spike asked.

"Yes, in fact, the guards are coming. Hurry up!"

"Alright, this isn't over yet Chazz!" Spike yelled.

"Your rarest card will be mine some day slacker!" Chazz answered.

As they ran out, the guards arrived, only to find nothing in the arena.

Once Spike and Alexis were out, Alexis asked: "Why did you duel him? You could've lost!"

"Hey, I probably would've won," Spike answered.

"How can you know that?"

"I don't know, it all depends on this card." They both observed the card: it was Pot of Greed. They checked the next two cards, which were another Pot of Greed and Hysteric Party. Then, they checked the last two cards, which were Elegant Egotist and Harpie Lady Sisters. Alexis imagined the duel ending like this:

"First, I will activate Pot of Greed!"

"Now, I will activate Monster Reborn to bring back Harpie Queen, but only to activate her effect! By discarding her to the Graveyard, I can add 1 Harpies' Hunting Grounds to my hand."

"I will now activate the same card I added to my hand, Harpies' Hunting Grounds!"

"Now, I can activate Hysteric Party!"

"Now, I can special summon as many Harpie Ladies as I can! In this case, come back Harpie Queen!"

"But, we're not over yet, 'cause I'll activate Elegant Egotist!"

"To make things simple, I can special summon a Harpie Lady Sisters!"

"Now Harpie Ladies, attack him directly!"

"Ahhh!!!!" Chazz yelled.

* * * * *

"Well, things would've gone better than expected," Alexis said. "You better go to your dorm Spike."

"Okay Alexis, see you some other time!" Spike answered.

And with that, Spike went for his dorm, while Alexis went to hers.

Spike's Thoughts: I'm currently running through the trees, using my parkour skills to avoid the mob of Obelisks that are chasing me. Things are going pretty we-

Spike's thoughts were cut off since he slipped on a branch, falling to the grass. The last thing he saw were several women walking towards him: they were wearing white and blue.
