Its been 5 years since she left...
5 years...
For 15 years I gave her a home...
For 15 years I fed her...
For 15 years I raised her...
Sometimes in my dreams I can still hear her voice...
"Daddy?"
Then I wake up.
Its been hard...
I no longer feel depressed by my situation...
But what do you do when you can't get close to someone you care about?
I still watch the show...
She is still my daughter...
Sometimes, when I watch the show I can swear she's trying to talk to me...
I am currently 42 years old.
I once thought I would never see her again...
I thought that when she said goodbye, it would be the last time I would see her again...
I was wrong.
It started like most other days. I got up, brushed my teeth, ate some breakfast. I don't have to work anymore. I wrote a book about our adventures together. I titiled it My Little Dashie. It sold off store shelfs faster then you could think possible. But that doesn't matter, I wrote it so I wouldn't forget her. She's out there somewhere... If the show has anything to say of it, she's been having quite the ride of it too. I feel no regret out of the choice I made.
I walk down the hall to where her bedroom was before it vanished. I open the door. And I look through the scrapbook we made. It makes me smile. I look at all our memories...Finding her, her first words, the time she sonic rainboomed and broke all the windows in the neighboorhood,her getting her cutie mark (God, she was so proud), her watching endless amounts of NASCAR and spongebob, she even watched the show once, never did ask her what she thought of it...Then I get up. I go to greet the day, as I have and told myself I would since she left. I drive to a little town near OUR home.
I do everything from buy my food for the week, to going down to the coin-op laundry mat. I drive home. I walk up to my home's door. Get my keys and unlock it. And wait for a second to turn the lights on...Praying that its all a sick joke and she'll pop up and yell "Suprise!". I turn the lights on...Nothing. I don't let it get to me. its been like that for 5 years now. I set the table and turn on MLP. As the show plays in the background, I set the table for 2... I open the window, just in case she needs to be let back in for whatever reason. She never left me. She's in my heart. And I wish she was in my arms...Tears come, I don't stop them. After dinner, I sit and watch the show. God, she's as livly as ever. She is having so much fun...Then I stop crying.I know I made the right choice. I let her go back to her true home. Tears again. I go back to where her bedroom used to be. I open the book again, and read through it again. And (for whatever reason) I take it with me back to bed. As I get to bed I hope that I can have that dream again.Where's she always with me.
Suddenly, I'm floating. It looks like Cloudsdale and, AND SHE'S THERE!
"Dashie!" "Dashie!!" I call.
"Daddy!" She shouts back.
I run as fast as I can, not knowing whats happening, but not caring either.
"Daddy!" She calls,
at first I'm filled with ecstasy. Then she looks scared. "Daddy, help!!" She screams.
I run even faster, the more she screams, the faster I run, untill...Some invisible wall blocks between us. She screams "Help!"
"Hold on I'm gonna get you outta there!" I try to reasure her (not knowing what the heck I'm supposed to do.)
"Please!" She screams.
I hammer at the wall with my fists untill--Twilight shows up?!
"Rainbow, we're gonna get you outta there!" She says.
"Hurry!" Dash replies.
"Twilight help me get her outta there!!" I shout,
not knowing whats going on but not caring either, I just have to save her.
"I can"t." Twilight tells me almost without feeling.
"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! HELP ME SAVE MY DASHIE!!" I scream at the alicorn.
Then she says "I can't, only you can."
My eyes widen and--I wake up in a cold sweat. No tears, just short of breath. its daylight now, and someones knocking at the door.
Someones at the door. But, I notice the books gone, where's the book?! THE BOOKS GONE!! NO! I yank the blankets off my bed and look all over the room franticly.
"Where's the book?!" I just repeat that same line over and over.
The knocking gets louder, I don't care,
"WHERE'S THE BOOK?!" I just can't belive it.
The only thing I had left of her and its...gone. I'm ready to scream in agony when something catches my ear.
"Sir, please open up!" That voice... Its sounds so familiar, but i can't place it.
I grab my robe and bolt downstairs. I go to the door and...wait, do you really want to do this to yourself? I ask that question over and over again about 1000 times before I hear the knocking and the voice again.
"Please, if anyone is there, open up. Its about Rainbow Dash."
What went through my mind I can't repeat here. Lets just say I opened the door without thinking twice. As the door flew open, I saw the suprised face of, Twilight Sparkle, She jumped back a bit before realizing what was going on.
"Twilight..." I huffed out of breath. "...Whats wrong with Rainbow Dash?!"
She spoke the next words that would shook me to my core.
"She's in trouble." Was all I heard.
"Please come in." Was all I could say.
She ran in as I looked to see if anypony else had come, no she was alone. Twilight came in and just as she was about to speak,
I exclaimed "Whats wrong with Dashie?"
She replied "Its something that happened while she was here." She said.
"What does she need me to do?" I asked almost on the edge of a breakdown.
"Let me explain." She said.
"Fine, but quickly." I said ready to jump.
"Rainbow Dash has been missing for the last 3 days." She commented.
3 days? A day there is a year here. She's been missing for 3 earth years? I had to get my mind focused, she needed me to. Twilight countinued,
"She said that she was going to look for a way to find you, that there must be someway for her to find you. Then she went missing."
I was angry and scared all at the same time.
"Why, how did you get here then?" I asked.
"I will only be able to be here for at least an hour, and its taking all of what Celestia,Luna, Cadence and I can conjure."
"How long have you been here?" I asked.
"50 minutes."
Crap, I'm on a timer. I have to be selective with my questions.
"What does she need?" I asked.
"She got all her memories when she came through 5 days ago, but retained all of her memories of the time she had spent here too, 4 days ago she kept claiming that 'She found it!' 'She found it!' but didn't tell us what." Twilight said.
"Whats that got to do with me? she never showed up here." I said.
"Yes, but whatever she found had to be something to do with you..."
"And?" I said hurridly.
"...And you might be the only one who can help her..."
"What do I have to do?" I asked.
"You would have to come with us, to Canterlot..."
"But you said that it would be too risky." I answered.
Twilight said something bonechilling, "It is, your exsistence would be erased from here, and you might not even make it to Canterlot with your memories intact."
I gulped.
"For Dashie I would take that chance..."
Twilight smiled with a tear in her eye.
"You really do care about her, don't you?" She asked.
"For her I would take any chance." I said firmly.
"Ready to go?" Twi asked.
"Gimme a sec." I looked around at my home and took the picture of my parents from the bookshelf and put it in my pocket.
"That might not make it..." Twi said unsure.
"Its a chance I'll have to take, its the only way to remember them if I do this."
Twi asked "Anything else?"
I remembered the book.
"What happened to Dashie's scrapbook?, do you know?" I asked.
Twi shook her head no.
"Okay then I'm ready." I said as calm as I could.
"Okay hold on..." Twi said.
Twi looked up at some weird light she conjured. "Celestia, I have him, Take us back."
There was a bright blinding light. Then I slipped into darkness...
I awoke in a hazy cock-eyed feeling, I could tell that whatever was going on, I definitly was lying on the floor. I thought that I saw a shadow that looked alot like Luna, then another shadow that looked like Cadence, then one that I swore could be Celestia...Then I looked around, it looked like Canterlot's royal palace! Wait... I'm here! I made it!
I thought "how did I get here?"
I felt woozy and out of body and had this awful buzzing noise in my ears. Then I remembered what I was doing.
"Rainbow Dash!!" I shouted out. "Dashie! are you there?!"
Luna spoke but I could hardly hear her through the buzzing,
all I heard was "The rainbow one is not here."
I tried to pick myself up, then fell again hard. What was going on?! Why was I having such a hard time with my body? The buzzing got worst and the blackness around the side of my eyes intensified untill I was in a deep sleep.
And I'm at Cloudsdale again.
"Daddy I need you!" Dashie screams.
"I'm coming, hold on!" As I look around its like fire is spitting up from the earth and through the clouds.
Its like everything is falling apart, I run as the world crumbles around me and jump for Dashie's hoof and---
"DASHIEEEEE!!!"
I awake in a bed screaming this name to the heavens. I look around through my haze and see:Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Twilight surrounding my bed.
"Ohhhhh your awake!" Pinkie Pie shouts.
"Let'im breath pinkie..." Applejack says.
"Oh good your awake." Fluttershy adds,as softly as ever.
Twilight asks "It sounded like some nightmare you were having there, all you said was "I'm coming hold on." over and over again."
"I saw Dashie, and Cloudsdale was on fire and...and everything was coming down." I said, shaken.
"Well your safe now, darling." Rarity said trying to be comforting.
"I got to find her." I tried to hop out of the bed and fell on my face.
"Whats wrong with my body?" I asked.
Applejack spoke up "Yall didn't tell him Twi?"
"I thought he knew..." Twilight replied.
"Knew WHAT?" I asked nervouisly.
"That your a po--MFMMMFFFFMMF." Rarity covered Pinkie's mouth with her hooves.
"What she means darling, is that ummmm...." She stopped.
Fluttershy wheeled in a mirror and said "You might just wanna see for yourself, sorry."
I picked myself up and where my hands were supposed to be were...HOOVES?! I got up franticly and look at the mirror. What I saw was a brown-fleeced pony with bathrobe and T-shirt underneath, I blinked out of amazement, and the pony blinked BACK?!
"Whoa..." I said in stunned amazement. "...Is that...me?"
Pinkie Pie spoke up "Yeah, silly, were all ponies here!"
I have to admit, the pony transformation was alot less of a shock with Pinkie to help me laugh it out.Then I remembered the photo of my parent's, I pulled the picture of my parents out and...it was blank.
Twi spoke up "I tried to tell you, humans never exsisited in this world, I'm sorry."
"Its okay," I replied"I always have my memories of them to remember, and one thing I've learned:There's nothing you wouldn't do for your children, they understood that."
Applejack spoke"Thats sumthing I can vouch for."
The rest all agreed.
"Okay, if I'm going to find Dashie, I'm gonna need to learn how to walk on all fours, how do you all do it?"
"I asked the same about you humans when I first had to walk on two." Twi said trying to comfort me.
"Its easy!!" Pinkie countined "You just walk one hoof behind the other!"
Rarity spoke up "Imagine that instead of 4 legs you just have 2 bigger ones."
That helped more than I thought but I still had the ocassional stumble.
"Your'll get the hang of it." Fluttershy said.
God, they were all so nice.
"Well, why an't gonna get anywere just standing here!" Applejack spoke up.
"Your right lets go." I said.
After walking around for a few minutes I got the hang of it but still tripped around a bit.
We walked to the throneroom. There we were greeted by Celestia, Luna and Cadence. Celestia spoke up "Ahh, I'm glad you are awake, how do you feel?"
"Well, I'm getting used to it, but I have a question..." I Countinued,
"...Why after all this time, and I know that its been 5 days here and 5 years on earth, but why the change of heart?"
Celestia had a small tear in her eye "Rainbow Dash has been through more than I imagined, and I didn't know if the chance that you not being able to remember her would happen or not...."
"...And you couldn't take the thought of her in that kind of pain..." I finshed her sentence for her and she nodded
"...Yes, I didn't know if she would remember you or not either, and I couldn't ask you to give yourself up for a chance." She said as a tear went down her check.
Cadence spoke next "But she couldn't bear the thought of never seeing her...father, again, so for the past 5 days she had been working around the clock to find a way to see you. She claimed to have found a way but was careless of the dangers."
"What are the dangers?" I asked.
Luna knew the answer to that one "She had found a way but had been warned that inter-dimesional travel IS extremly dangerous, after what happend to Twilight in another version of your world, Rainbow Dash was sure she had found a safe way, but whatever she did backfired and Equestria is tearing itself apart."
"Why didn't any of you go with her?" I asked.
Celestia anwsered "She had been told that it was too dangerous, but she couldn't live with her pain, so she sought Zecora to help. I didn't stop her because she asked what if it had been me and Luna parted between worlds...And I couldn't deal with the thought of that happening again, so I let her..."
"You care about her like if she was your daughter too..." I said. She nodded yes with a tear again.
Twilight spoke up "Well that doesn't matter now, all that matters is that we find Rainbow Dash before its too late."
Pinkie pie spoke "Exactly, So what are we waitng for?!" She ran off, seconds later she was back "Oh wait, where is she?"
"She could be anywere in E'questria." Applejack said.
"Well..." Fluttershy said.
Rarity inturrupted "What are we going to do?!" as she fell into her fainting chair (Where did that come from anyway?)
"Well..." Fluttershy tried again.
"We could organize a search and rescue with the Pegasai, Unicorns and Earth Ponies." Twilight said.
"Well we could, always look for her at where she was last?" Fluttershy finally said.
"Thats a good idea where was she last?" I said.
Celestia spoke "She was last seen going to the everfree forest to get Zecora."
"Then we start there!" Twilight said.
We boarded the trian to Ponyville and were on our way.
"So..." Twilight asked me, "...She wouldn't stop telling us about how you raised her and were her only friend for years..."
"Yes I didn't see another person for mounths at a time as she grew." I answered.
"Did she ever talk about us?" Twilight asked.
"She saw the show once but I didn't come home untill it was too late, she had watched some of it, but I never knew how much."
"Show?" She asked in wonderment.
"Oh yeah, in my universe you are all a show created by a woman named Lauren Faust."
"Wow thats odd." She said, not quite sure what to think.
"Don't be weirded out, its a great show and if not for it, I never would have found Dashie." I tried to comfort her.
"I'm not creeped out I'm just dumbfounded..." She replied.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Lauren Faust was the name of our original queen." She said.
"What happend to her?" I asked.
"I don't know, she just...disappeared one day." She replied.
"Uh, weird, what do you think it means?" I questioned.
"I'm not sure but I will look into that when this is all over." Was all she said before we arrived at the station.
I had been here for 3 days now...
We explored Ponyville for awhile. As we went back to the treehouse so Twilight could get her spell books. I look in wonder as I took it all in. The cakes were real (and thier cupcakes were to die for) so was the treehouse in the center of the town. The cutie mark cursaders even walked past me looking for something to do. The applefarm was off in the distance and the boutique was as colorful as it was in the show. It was gorgeous, no fighting or wars or hunger or anything wrong. It was like a dream, and then, then, I remembered my dream, The sky looked like it was on fire... Oh god, did I do that? Was Dashie so desprate to find me that she would put them all in danger? No, I won't accecpt that, we will find a way to stop that from happening. For now we entered the treehouse and as if on que, Spike showed up.
"Who are you?" He asked.
before I could say anything. Pinkie spoke up "This is Dashie's dad!"
"Oh, so your the one she's been talking about all week?"
"Yes." I simply said.
"Well you missed her by about 20 minutes."
Everyone spoke all at once, myself included "WHAT?!"
"Ye- yea, she needed a book."
"What for?" Twilight asked impaitently.
"Yeah, she said she needed it to help Zecora proform a space-time portal."
"Did she say where she was gonna go?" Applejack asked.
"Everfree forest, duh."
"Oh my..." Fluttershy gasped.
"We have to stop her before she can do that." she added.
Twilight barked orders "Quick, get the weather balloon!"
We went as far into the Everfree forest as we could. But we had to land before we could get near Zecora's hut. When we departed, we hoofed it to the hut.
As we ran a thousand thoughts went through my head. I was trying to make sense of all of it. What did it mean? Why did the world keep tearing itself apart? Was it because I was here? No, they said that it was already happening before that...What did Dashie do that would cause all this? Was it on purpose? No I can't accept that. She knows better. The thought that scared me the most was what was going to happen to me when this was all over? I don't fear death, but I don't want to die either. Buts thats not all, what would happen to Dashie? Oh god, I was worried just thinking about it... As I was about to ask Twilight if she knew, we arrived at Zecora's house. We knocked on the door and it creeped open.
"Hello anyone there?" Twi said.
We walked in and were greeted by Zecora. "Twilight comes in? to what do i owe this pleasure then?" she said.
"Zecora," Twi went on, "Where's Rainbow Dash?" she said as calmly as she could.
"To ponyville she traveled, but come back to me, she has rabbled."
We don't have time for her Yoda speak.
"Did she say where she was going after that? We just missed her." I said as I nearly was on a peak of a breakdown.
"Before you get blue, maybe you should check behind you." she replied.
I wondered what that meant when I heard a word that made my heart explode, twice. "Daddy?".
I was dumbstruck. I turned around slowly, wanting it so badly to be true, but worried I would be so cruely denied again. I turned my body around and tried not to cry. "Daddy?" was all she said.
I had found my little Dashie.
"Is that you?" she asked still standing in the doorway.
"Dashie..." was all that went out of my mouth.
She walked over to me slowly, and hugged me tighter then I thought she had strength.
"What happened to you? why are you a pony? How did you get here? What happened to you after we left?" she had as many questions as we both had tears.
"Twilight said you were in trouble, so she went back to get me to help find you, thats how I ended up like this." I answered.
"But, you look older, not bad, just older, I've only been gone 8 days, how did you get like that?" she asked.
Crap, she didn't know the time diffrence? I never told her, I never told her...Well it was time I did.
"Dashie, You've been gone for 5 years..." I admitted with tears freely rolling down my eyes.
"What do you mean?" she asked understandably.
"A day here is a year back home." I told her with a little regret, why? If this didn't work she might never be the same if I left. But I made the mistake of keeping the truth from her once, and I don't plan to do that twice.
"So, you've spent 8 years by yourself?" she asked with another tear.
"No, just 5." I answered.
"I', I'm sorry, if-f I ha-had know-known I wouldn't hav-have left yo-you..." she tried to say between tears and sniffs.
"Its okay, I'm here now, and you made the right choice, don't worry, I'm not leaving you again, I promise..."
Curse me, why did I tell her that? I don't even know what will happen, but right now I don't care.
"Awwwww, thats adorably!" Pinkie Pie spoke up.
When I looked around she was the only one that wasn't in tears, Zecora included.
"So Rainbow Dash I say to you is this your father, true?" Zecora asked.
"Yes but, wait, how did you say you got here again?" Dashie said.
"Twilight helped me." I answered.
"But, Twi you said it was too dangerous." Dashie said, somewhat angry with her friend.
"It was, I didn't even know if he would remember us, but when Equestria started tearing itself apart I knew it must be something to do with the both of you." Twilight said.
"Wait, Equestria is tearing itself apart?" Dashie asked.
"Yes...We thought you knew." Twi said.
"How? I tried to get dad here but for some reason only got this." Dashie pulled something out of the saddlebag she had on.
It was our scrapbook. "How did you get that?" I asked.
"I don't know, me and Zecora thought that we had a way to get to you without you losing your memories but I only got this book." Dashie answered.
The book? Why did she get the book? Wait, I took it to bed with me, I had the book in my bed, she had the book because she tried to get me and must have grabbed that book somehow...
"Dashie, 3 days ago, I had that book in bed with me, I couldn't sleep and I wanted to look through it because I missed you."
I explained.
She looked at me with a happy tear in her eye then look bewildered. "Wait, you said I was gone was gone for 5 years, not 8, how long have you been here?"
"3 days darling." Rarity said said to Dashie.
I had forgot that they were there. Everypony and Spike included. "Wel," Applejack spoke up, "...Thats nice and al, but what 'bout the world coming to an end an such?"
Everyone wondered what that could mean, then I remembered the photo of my parents.
"Dashie let me see the book." I said.
"Okay, but why?" she asked as I took it from her.
"Twilight, you remember what happened to the photo of my parents? how the picture was blank?"
"Yes," she stated "But whats that got to do with it?"
"Dashie you said that this portal would for sure let me keep my memories?"
"Yeah, but your here, there's no point in it now." she was so cute, after all this time my daughter really did grow up into a fine young mare, so smart (I mean how many kids know how to bridge the gap between time and space?) But I had to stay focused.
"Look." I pointed at the book to everypony.
The book was still full of all the pictures of me and Dashie and in those picture I was HUMAN.
"Twilight you said humans never existed in this dimesion?"
"Yes..." she replied
"In these pictures I'm human and..."
"And..." she started to think. "...And that's a parodox to the dimesions, the book must be whats causing all this because of the human pictures." she concluded.
"Wait a minute," Pinkie spoke up "How does this still have human pictures, if the picture of your parents was blank?!"
Fluttershy spoke "Because Rainbow Dash used a spell so that he could keep his memories."
"...And" Dashie spoke up "...And I must have teleported that book here instead of dad!"
"Exactly!" Twilight confirmed.
"So what now 'den?" Applejack questioned.
"We have to figure out how to get that book back to its home dimesion." Twilight said.
"Whoa, whoa ,whoa!" Dashie spoke up. "Thats all our memories, you can't just get rid of them." I was touched that she felt so strongly about it and was saddened that I would have to convince her otherwise.
"Dashie, your world isn't worth it, besides I'm here now arn't I?" I told her as best I could.
I saw that although she hesatated, she took a much longer look. "Okay, but only cause your here now." she replied.
"Can't we just destroy the book?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"No, that would only make it worse, it needs to be returned." "Twi said.
"How? that would fix it wouldn't it?" Pinkie asked.
"No, it would still be here, it has to go back." Twi replied.
"Okay, how do we do that?" I asked.
"Well, Princess Celestia, Luna and Cadence and I used up everything we had just to get you here." she told me.
"Fluttershy spoke next, "Well, couldn't we recreate the incident that sent Rainbow Dash there to begin with?" she said to everyone's suprise.
"Thats a perfect idea." Rarity said.
"How'd we do it?" Applejack asked.
"It was an experimental storm project." Twilight remarked.
"Okay, so all we have to do is recreate that." Dashie said.
I felt my heart drop just to the thought if Dashie putting herself in danger.
"Dashie you don't have to do this." I said almost begging her.
"I can't let my friends down..." was what she said back.
Spike had finally finshed crying, "Where to next then?" he asked.
"Cloudsdale." Twilight said.
We said goodbye to Zecora and contacted the 3 princesses to meet us there.
I'm stopped by some magical force. Cloudsdale is burning. Dashies on other side and is screaming
"Daddy, don't do it!"
I look at her tearful face and tell her "I have to." with a tear in my own eye.
I turn and see a tornado thats out of control and I breath in full of pride and walk towards it full of confidence. Then I wake up in tears. I've been here for 9 days, thats 9 earth years. I wonder what has been going on, what I've missed alot, but I'm not saddend in the least by it. I'm with Dashie, she's on the other side of the room. We're in Cloudsdale. Its the middle of the night. The others are in the other hotel rooms. We're going to attempt the storm tommorrow. The princesses are also here. I'm on edge, not just because its reckless and dangerous, not just because if we fail that this world will tear itself apart, but that if we fail, if I fail, we all die. I get up, but quietly, to not disturb her. She could have spent the night with her friends, she could have laughed with them and talked about boys or whatever they do that isn't about friendship. But instead, INSTEAD, she spent the night in my room, with me, just like the old days...I look over her as she sleeps and smile with a stream of water flowing down my cheek. She's smiling and looks so peaceful, I don't wanna wake her, I don't wanna think about tommorrow, I don't want to leave her again. I stroke her mane gently, just enough not to wake her up, when she hugs me.
"Daddy..." she whispers so softly into my ear.
"Dashie..." I say as I hug her back, and never want to let go.
"Daddy...Remember that promise you made me yesterday?, about never leaving?" she asks.
"Of course I do." I answer her.
"Don't leave me..." she begs.
"I won't." I tell her, not even begining to want to tell her about my dream.
"And, dad?" she says firmly.
"Yes, my Dashie?" I replied.
"Luna told me about the nightmares, I want you to know that it won't come to that, we will figure this out." she told me.
"I know we will." I said beliving her as hard as I could.
"I love you daddy." she said.
"I love you too, my little Dashie." I told her as far as emotions can go.
The rest of the night I slept at peace, still anxouios, but Dashie's words helped so much. The next day we were all there. Princess Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Dashie, Spike and myself. We walked into a ginormous room with a capsule in the middle of the ceiling with storm cloud incased inside of it. It was attached to wires and cable with a funnel that fed into it. It buzzed with an otherworldly glow. Everypony walked in to the room. We must have looked either awesome or ridiclues, in the orange danger suits they made us wear, although nobody seemed to mind, why would they? This is it, we either save Equestria here or we all die...I don't know why we would care how we looked at the time.
"Ready?" Twilight asked everypony.
They all were acting like this was just another episode, then I remembered that they didn't know that this was a show, or did they? I'll have to ask Celestia about that. Stay focused, I need to stay focused.
"Okay, Pinkie moniter the levels on the controls AND do not let them go critical!" Twi told her.
"Okay dokie loki!" Pinkie said as she rushed to a strange console.
"Applejack, keep an eye out for any debris that might come through or go in!" Twi went on.
"Got'cha!" Applejack said with a salute and went to a higher balcony.
"Fluttershy, I need you to help me, Rainbow Dash and Cadence fly through the storm and charge it up!" Twi said.
"I'll do my best." Fluttershy said meekly.
"Rarity, I need you to use your horn to charge the portal!" Twi went on.
"Certainly, darling." Rarity said.
"Spike do you have the book?" Twi asked.
"Right here!" Spike said pulling out the book.
"And I need you to help Pinkie with the controls." Twilight told me.
I nodded and went to Pinkie's aid.
"Okay everypony, this is it, Celestia and Luna will be doing all they can to summon up thier magic to back us up, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, with me!"
They took off and started spining around and around the cloud capsule.
"Pinkie, whats it read?" Twi shouted.
"Your almost to 500 hundred wingpower!" she shouted back.
"We need at least 1000, we have to go faster!" Twi shouted even louder.
"Your at 800!" I shouted.
Thats when things started to go wrong. "Watch out yall! debris!" Applejack screamed as everything from stray paper to bricks started to fly in and out of the now growing tornado.
"900!!" Pinkie screamed at the top of her lungs.
"Just--a--little--more!" Dashie shouted as the wind started to tear against her face.
As they aprouched 1000 I could see the portal start to open. It was where our home in the other world USED to be, instead it was some empty piping sticking out of the ground.
"Its starting to open, just a little more!" Twi shouted.
"I can't hold on any longer--" Fluttershy said before getting ripped out of the air by the power of this tornado.
"We can't lose control!!" Dashie screamed.
My stomauch went for a loop as I saw it grab Twilight, Cadence and Dashie. As they turned Spike went to toss the book through but had to grab on to the nearest railing just to avoid being sucked into the vortex himself.
"The book!!" He shouted as it flew out of his tiny claw and around the room.
As I jumped after it I heard "NO WAIT!!" being screamed by Celestia.
And suddenly everything stopped. The room was gone, the tornado had broke the room and was now loose in Cloudsdale. But it wasn't moving past the perimitor of the clouds.
I hear Dashie scream "Dad!!" behind me.
I run as the fire from the earth spits into the heavens. And just I go to her aid, I'm blocked by the invisable wall.
"Dashie! Whats happening?!" I shout.
"I tried to stop you!" Celestia shouts from the other side. "I was trying to keep the tornado under control so I put a forcefield around it!" she said.
I'm trapped. "Daddy! don't leave me again!" Dashie pleaded.
As I was about to speak Pinkie spoke up "Look, up there!"
she pointed at the book flying in the space above us.
"I have to close the portal." was what I told her.
Twilight spoke now "But your exsistence in that world was erased when you came here, if you get sucked in your'll die!"
"Daddy, don't do it! We'll find another way!" Dashie pleaded.
"Baby, Dashie, if I don't try we are all going to die." was all I could say to her.
"But, but you promised." she said with tears down her eyes.
Tears now in my own eyes I went on. "I have to try, and if it doesn't work I want you to know: I love you."
"I love you too, daddy." was what I thought was the last friendly words that I thought I would hear.
I turn and face the storm. Its not a dream anymore. I tell myself. Mess up here and she's dead. I run as hard as I can towards that book. As Dashie screams
"Daddy, no!!"
I do my best to ignore it, but I look over my shoulder and know that she sees me say
"I'm sorry." to her.
I notice that debris is now swirling around the tornado. I hop on what used to be a side of a building and ride it as far up as I can. I jump from debris to debris as I notice that they all look like specks from here. As I run up to jump to the next debris. I get hit with something and the next thing I notice is that I'm hanging on for my life with only one hoof. Then something amazing happens. I flashback before all this, I get to see everything all over again. When I found her, her first bath, her getting her cutie mark, the cake we made together, the time she saw the show, the time she ran away, all the NASCAR and spongebob she would watch, and, finally, her leaving to go back home. The next five years blur untill I flashback to 2 days ago and remember seeing her for the first time again in 5 long years, the smell of her mane when she hugged me, the tears she shed for me, the way she laughed and told me everything she had done trying to get me here, and her face of terror when I had to break a promise. I come to now. I see that I'm hanging by a hoof.
"NO, IT CAN'T END THIS WAY!!" I scream in defiance.
I kick myself up and see that infernal book floating above me. Its at least 10 ft. and I don't know if I can make it. You took a chance when you came here...Why stop now? I jump, with every fiber of my being I kick myself into the air and grab that book. As I freefall and get sucked towards the tornado, I come to terms that this is it. Before I die, I will make sure that SHE LIVES! I throw that book towards that acursed portal and a bright light overwashes me, I'm assuming thats it. But I saw the book go through. I saw the portal close I did it. She's safe, they all are.
Then I awake. I'm in the air. I'm still alive but not for long. I'm freefalling through the air. I look up at Cloudsdale and see the tornado stop, I did it, I get to die knowing that I saved her, I saved them all. They are all like daughters to me now. As I look down I notice the world creeping towards me. God, its so beatiful. Then I hear something that catches my ear.
"Daddy, I'm coming hold on!!" I look up again and see Rainbow Dash coming towards me ever faster then I thought she could go.
"GRAB MY HOOF!!" she screams to me.
I try to reach for it, I try to slow down. But I don't know if its enough. Then something amazing happens a second time. A sonic rainboom. A rainboom trails behind her. As I go to grab her hoof. Everything goes black.
I awake. I'm back in the palace from the looks of it. But I'm alone. I contemplate if this a dream or not. No, its not, I wouldn't be in this much pain if that were true. I look at my right hoof and it has a sling around it. I get out of my bed and walk towards the door. As I open it I'm greeted by Pinkie Pie.
"Well, hey there sleepyhead! you had us all worried." she tells me.
"Pinkie, what happened? where's Dashie? Where's anypony for that matter?" I ask.
"There all waiting for you at the ceremony, come on!" she says before trotting off down the great hall.
"Pinkie, wait!" I shout. What ceremony? Whats happening? Where is everypony?
I follow Pinkie as best I can, it was hard to walk on four legs. But three is worst. I see Pinkie zip by the hallway and into the throneroom. I follow and am greeted by Shining Armor shouting
"Makeway for her highnesses hero!"
As I get my bearings, I see guards across the room make a path for me. At the end Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Twilight and the rest of the group wait for me.
"Approuch, please." Celestia tells me.
I'm saluted and Commended as I walk down the carpet. I finally come to the bottom of the throne and am told by the queen:
"For outstanding sacrfice and finding a soulution through incredably odds, I dub thee, Knight and honuerary adviser, Arise Sir."
after the kind words Celestia dismisses everypony.
"I am not sure that there words that describe what you have been through, but I see now that not taking you back with us was a mistake. Something amazing happened to you and "Dashie" and despite no relationship, and living in two worlds apart, you have both become family."
"Thank you, your highness." I replied in disbelif "But where is she?" I ask.
"She's waiting for you." Celestia tells me. I look and see out the window on a balcony, Dashie just staring off into space.
"Go to her." the queen of the sun tells me.
"Thank you, for everything." I say.
She smiles every so sweetly and replies "No, thank you."
I walk towards the balcony. "Dashie?"
"Dad." she responds.
She hugs me as tight as she can, and I do the same.
"Daddy, I'm sorry." she tells me.
"What for? we did it, we saved Equestria." I comfort her.
"But now you can never go back, you erased yourself to come help me, you lost the book of all our memories, and its all my fault." she says as the tears start to roll.
"Dashie," I say with tears coming to my eyes now too. "I would gladly give it all up for you."
I went on. "Besides, we'll make new memories, and can always remember the old ones."
She calms down.
"So," she said "your not mad that I put everyone in danger?" she asked.
"That wasn't your fault." I tell her
"But still I ignored the dangers, even when it put everyone else in jeopardy." she said, being much too hard on herself.
"I almost got you killed." she said with regret.
"No you saved my life, and you got me here, you saved me when I was going to die, you were my inspiration for all those years, you may think that I saved you but that would be wrong. YOU saved ME." I told her from the bottom of my heart.
"So..." she said much calmer now. "Knight, huh?"
"Yeah, maybe I'll stick around, see the sights, I did see this nice house in ponyville." I said with a smile on my face and a tear off my cheek.
"Daddy?" she said.
"Yes, my little Dashie?" I asked.
"I love you." And she hugged me.
"I love you too." I said hugging her back
By now the others had shown up.
"Thank you so much." Twilight and the rest said in unison.
"Hey you know what this means?" Pinkie shouted.
"What?" we all asked.
"Its time for a party!!" she shouted as she jumped into the air.
But she was right, it had come time to have our happy ending. Just like it always does. Oh, and if your wondering how I'm doing. I wrote My Little Dashie again. This time with the adventure we shared now, called My Little Dashie:the adventure contines. Its still a best seller, even in this dimesion. I even bought that home in Ponyville like I said, just to be closer to her. Now if you'll excuse me. there's someone knocking at the door and she says that
"Dad needs to see the new trick she just learned."

First off I would like to say: My Little Dashie is one of the saddest and (somehow) happiest fan-fics of MLP I have ever seen (including Snowdrop) and was so intense I was both smiling and bawling. It really brought out a lot of feelings and emotions that most people wish they could write in movies. I was incredably moved and even took up writing this bit of fan-fiction simply intitiled: My Little Dashie: A Fan-Fiction Of A Fan-Fiction. Its picking off somewhere about 5 years since the original (in story years I mean) and tries to stay as true to the original as I can make it. To whoevers reading this, this is not the countinuation I think most of you had in mind. Its more of me just trying to put in to sense the idea that came to me for a sequal when I finshed reading My Little Dashie. I just needed more to go off of, it was so adorable.
ROBCakeran53 had nothing to with this, I just wanted to see the story keep going (to everyone who wants something good to end I can only say "I just can't help myself...") If somehow you do read this Rob lemme just say that this is not me trying to steal your thunder, I just was inspired by your story and wanted to have another go.
