//-------------------------------------------------------// Dash -by CluelessBrony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue The sharp sound of steel on steel cut through the air like a dagger. A light rain drizzled over the battlefield, soaking the battling soldiers to the bone, making the land seem more miserable than it already was. It was a battle, taking place on a barren, rocky heath. Three creatures, none of which anypony in their right mind would be able to call ponies, stood watching over the battle. “When will we meet again, my siblings?” the first one asked to the others. This one was tall and roughly pony-shaped, with a dark black body and long, ratty blue mane. A deep, guttural voice responded from the second creature, all black fur and menacing eyes. “When the battle is over, we’ll meet again.” “In the forest! The Everfree forest!” exclaimed the third creature, clapping its mismatched hands together. “I just love that place! It’s got the perfect mix of creepy and silly!” “Fine,” said the first, “there we will meet with Rainbow Dash.” A soft mewling came from behind, and the three turn. A grey cat stood behind them, along with a dark brown toad that seemed to blend in with the rocky ground and a small platypus. The first creature nodded. “I’m coming, Greymalkin.” She jumped up into the air and spread her insect-like wings, while the cat slunk into the darkness and disappeared from view. The second creature turned its inky-black head towards the toad and nodded as well. Thick black smoke started to seep out from underneath his garments, and his body seemed to evaporate before completely disappearing. The smoke moved through the air before creating a vortex around the toad, swirling and twirling around, picking up speed, before flying up into the air and through the clouds, the toad disappearing with it. The third creature flew over to the platypus, picking it up in his lion paw and eagle talon. “Those two are just so dramatic, aren’t they, Waddles? Come on, let’s go have some fun.” With that, he flew up into the sky, platypus in hand. As he flew up into the clouds, he knocked loose some water, and it started raining heavier than before.
