Chapter 1: Rough night and something much unexpected (updated)
(Please note that this is my first story that I have wrote and that this is more of a practice story to improve on my writing for future stores. If you find any errors please tell me so that I can fix them.)
I walk down the cold dark street. I am heading home from my brother’s friend’s house. This is the usual scenario when I hang out with my bro and his friends. It usually goes ok until they break out the weed and beer; that’s my cue to leave. I don’t smoke or do drugs and I’ll only drink on special occasions. They always try to convince or peer presser me in to it but they’ll get the same answer every time. Then came the names and insults but I ignore them. I usually don’t mind walking home it gives me some time to think, but this time is different. This particular friend lives on the south side of town where all gangs and drug dealers live; or for a lack of better words the hood.
The severing wind gently kicks up, my black leather jacket protects me from the unforgiving wind, it has a blue and white strip going horizontally along the upper back and ran vertically down the sleeves. Under it I wore a dark blue long sleeved t-shirt. My upper body is nice and warm but I can’t say the same thing for my lower; my black jeans helps but they aren't wind prof like my jacket. My black and blue shoes are a bit muddy; I guess that’s what I get for walking home on a cold wet night. I have my satchel with me or one of those book bags that look like one. I can’t remember what they are called. However it doesn't matter right now, in stead of thinking like I usually do when walking home. I constantly observing my surroundings making sure there’s no gangs or thugs hiding about whiting for anyone to walk past so they can jump or mug them.
I quickly came to a stop as my ears catch the sound of a trash can falling to the ground. My body quickly tenses up; I slowly look to my right. A cat’s head pokes out of the trash can, I exhale as my body relaxes.
“Stupid cat”
I turn away from the cat and continue my walk home. About 15 min. later of nothing happening
“I’m almost out of south side only a block or two until I’m home free”
But of course fate likes being a bitch tonight
“Where do you think your go en cracker?”
“Cracker? Yup this guy is defiantly African American”
I stop and look to my right to see 3 black dudes making their way towards me. They wore the typical gang member getup.
“Well I was head en to your mother’s house”
The two behind the one in front make “ooo” sounds as they look at each other. The one in front looks a bit irritated at my response.
“You think you’re so funny don’t you bitch!” he said as he got up in my face.
Now I don’t enjoy picking fights however, I do like being a smart ass
“I hope so but when it comes to funny your face outmatches me in every way”
I hear one of the ones in the back say something like “Oh no he didn’t” the one in front’s face goes from being irritated to piss off. Before I can react; he throws his left fist in to my face sending me to the ground.
“Not so funny now are you bitch!”
Ok these guys aren't playing around. I slowly get up from the ground.
“If that’s all you've got then I’m really disappointed”
Getting tired of my smart ass ways he throws a right hook.
"Begin commencing operation tiger flee”
“Operation commencing”
I quickly block his hook with my left arm then quickly knee him in his nads while yelling “Tiger Knee!” then I quickly turn and ran.
“Oh shit get’em!”
The two that aren't not on the ground groaning in pain ran after me. I glance over my shoulder to see them slowly getting closer.
“You can’t out run us we’re black!”
“Stereotypical assholes!”
I pick up the pace. There’s no moon out tonight so It’s somewhat hard to see in an ally way. Time to use this to my advantage; I start doing sharp turns around corners using the shadows to help me lose them. I knock down trash cans in the middle of the ally in an attempt to slow to them down. I quickly do a sharp left turn then hop over a wooden fence in to someone’s back yard. I ran to the right side of the yard and hop the fence in to another yard. I jump from yard to yard until I landed in the fifth yard. My ears catch the sound of a dog growling I look to my left to see a very big and very angry looking dog.
“You got to be fucking kidding me”
“Run dumb ass run!”
I dash for the other side of the yard. The dog ran after me; luckily I manage to jump to the fence to another yard before the dog could get to me.
“Let’s hope that dog will buy me some time.”
“Let’s worry more about getting the hell out of here before another dog pops out of nowhere.”
I hear barking on the other side of the fence behind me. The barking is followed by some girly screams; guess I found my answer. I jump the next fence to see a grassy field with a small group of about 20 trees a good 25 meters away. Guess I reached the edge of town.
“He went this way come on!”
“Shit no time to think; guess those trees will make as good as a hiding spot as any"
“NO SHIT!”
“Now is not the time sub conscience.”
I quickly make my way to the trees and hide in them. I focus on controlling my breathing and to being as quite as possible. I hear footsteps in the distances
“Where the fuck did he go?!”
“How the fuck am’ I posts to know; Come on let’s try this way”
I hear the footsteps slowly get quieter as they got further away from me; I relax.
“That was close…best to stay here for a bit longer”
“Good Idea”
I notice a small pond a few feet away from me
“How the hell did I not notice that earlier?”
"Maybe because you were too busy hiding dumb ass”
“Oh gee thank you caption obvious”
“Butt munch”
“Ass wipe”
“Butt dumpling”
“Ass munch”
“Dill weed”
“Pecker wood”
“Bung hole”
“Fart knocker”
“Dumb ass”
“Pecker bu-“
A faint light glows in the pond. I slowly make my way to the pond as time passes the light got brighter. As I reach the edge of the pond I look down at the water’s surface right at the light. The light is……..colorful it has an arrays of multiple colors almost like a rainbow and it seems to be in a sphere like shape the colors swirling separately in the center.
“What the fuck?”
“Look at the pretty colors!”
“What?”
“………..”
“Yo dude you still with me?”
“Um what Sorry I got lost for a sec there”
“I wonder why?”
“Just shut up and investigate”
“Fine…I wonder what it is.”
I reach down in to the water to touch the swirling light as if rejecting my hand it explodes in a shock wave of multi-colors sending me high in air. The bright light blinds me as gravity starts to bring me back to the ground. I felt my body hit the ground as I lost consciousness.
I slowly regain consciousness to the sound of trees dancing in the gentle wind. I groan in pain, I felt like I fell down a ten story building. I slowly open my eyes only for a light to blind me, I quickly close my eyes in response. It took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust to the light, I stare up at a forest canopy, very few rays of sunlight have broken through giving the forest an eerie lighting. I continue staring up at the canopy until I notice something the trees are a little too bright and colorful even with the eerie lighting.
“Status report”
“Your body feels like it’s been mauled by a pack bears but; nothings broken”
“Well that’s a relief”
I carefully got up so I wouldn't worsen my body’s condition after a few minutes of feeling like an old person I finally manage to stand on my two legs, only to fall on to my back again. Pain courses through my body hindering my movements I lay there still, once again looking back up at the canopy above me; I wait for the pain to subside.
“Why did you fall over dumb ass?”
“I don’t know…..I lost my balance somehow”
I carefully lift my arms up to my face instead of hands I see hooves.
*Restring*

My eyes grow to the size of diner plates as I felt my heart start to race.
“Dude just take long deep breaths and try not to panic”
Taking my sub conscience’s advice I focus on my breathing and try to calm my mind. I carefully got up again this time standing up on all fours. My ears catch the sound of water, I look to my left to see a small pound like the one the night before. I slowly make my way to it nearly tripping a couple of times, I’ll have to teach myself to walk on all fours. Once I reach the pond I look down at the water’s surface to see the reflection of a miniature horse or something like it. The horse’s fur is white as snow with a black shaggy mane & tail with white tips. A white horn protrudes from its head, its hazel eyes stair back at me.

“Please don’t start that right now...my head is still hurts for all that going on”
“All right….so any ideas on how this happened or what’s going on?”
“No fucking idea”
“Could be a lucid dream”
“Let’s test that theory”
I lift my right fore hoof up to my face I begen to imagine the hoof turning in to a hand. After thirty seconds I stop and sigh
“This isn't a lucid dream”
“Could be one of those rare lucid dreams where you can’t do shit”
“If this was a lucid dream then wouldn't you be here standing next to me?”
“Damn your right”
“Well this isn't a dream so that leaves two questions where am I and how did I get here?”
“Oh shit dude I think that lake brought you here”
“Maybe but there was also a strange light in the lake remember and it doesn't look like it’s there anymore”
I place my right hand-err hoof in the water just to make sure after about 30 sec. I take my hoof out of the water with a sigh of disappointment.
“Oh of course your only way back has suddenly disappeared in to thin air”
“*sigh*I guess fate really liked being a bitch last night”
“No kidding”
“So that’s one of the questions down… So that leaves just one more where the hell am I?”
“I have no fucking clue”
“Well I guess I’ll have to find civilization somehow if there is any….but first I need to learn how to walk properly”
After about 15 min. of face planting the dirt and lots of cursing, I eventually re-mastered walking. I felt the wind’s gentle breeze until I realize something.
“I feel…….more free for some reason”
“Is it your new form or something?”
I look at myself for a sec. then look between my fore legs to see the answer.
“Oh that’s why…..I’m not wearing any pants”
“FREEDOM!!!!!”
“Well I’m glad you’re happy about this”
“No longer will you be trapped by the lower body fabric of modesty known as pants!”
“Now I have a new question where the hell is my pants?”
“I don’t have a clue but when you find it throw it in to the bonfire of freedom and dance in celebration!”
“Well you’re no help at all”
I scan the area for ether my pants or something useful. My eyes widen a bit to see my bag next to a tree.
“I could have sworn I still had my bag on me”
I make my way over to my bag and inspect it, it’s not damaged that a good thing, now to see if anything inside of it is damaged. After failing to open my bag with my hooves a few times I manage to open it.
“Inventory Check”
“Art equipment”
“Check”
“Ocarina”
“Check”
“Eleven inch survival knife”
“Check”
“Well that’s everything”
“Reminded me why you carry a knife around with you?”
“For situations like this; it may come in handy later”
With that out of the way I throw on my bag and look at my surroundings, to the left of me the forest seemed to get darker the further as you go in. To my right I can see the edge of the forest with bright sun light breaking through trees. Weighing my options I decide to head to the tree line of the forest. Once I reach the tree line a light once again blinds me. After my eyes adjust to the lighting, I take in the site of an endless hilly plan.
I take my eyes off of the landscape and look to my right to see a wooden sign next to a dirt road. I quickly make my way over to it, the sign looks like its been there a while the wood is rotting and there is a lot of cracks in the sign. There's some writing on the sign.
“Warning
Everfree forest
is home to Manticores, timber wolves, hydras
and many other nightmares
please turn back if you know what’s good for you”
“Well I guess this is our first sign of civilization…..pun intended”
“I never heard of Everfree forest and is there really manticores and hydras beasts of fiction exist here…..and what the hell is a timber wolf is some kind of what wolf made out of timber.”
“Giving the current situation I bet that is highly possible”
“And given the last 30 min that has past I think it’s safe to say that we’re defiantly not in Kansas anymore”
“……….”
“What?”
“You just had to say it didn't you”
“I was born and raised in Kansas I’m allowed to say it”
“Whatever…now do we do the smart thing and follow the road or do we tempt fate yet again and do the incredibly stupid thing and head back in to the forest”
“Hmmmmmmm…. That is a very tough decision”
A loud high pitch scream coming from within the forest interrupts my thoughts, the scream is followed by an ear shattering roar.
“Sounds like the basic D.I.D”
“Incredibly stupid decision it is then!”
I bolt in to the dark forest following only the high pitch screams of horror.

Ok so I've hopefully fixed most of the problems. some tense errors, spelling , wrong words ect.
Sorry if you guys face palmed or something at my terrible writing skills. I 'm not used to writing in present tense as you all have seen. But I will improve over time.
Anyways its almost 01:00 am. so I'm heading to bed because I'm tired as hell.

Chapter 2: Manticores, Ponies, and Batman!
*Mean while at that very moment*
First, a weird explosion happens in the everfree forest this morning. Then my friends and I spend hours trying to find the cause of said explosion then I get separated from said friends and now I’m running for my life away form a manticore. Can this day possibly get any more heinous a resounding roar separates me from my thoughts and prompts me of the current situation that I’m in I picked up the pace, my mind races for achievable solutions. Retaliating is out of the question if five of my friends and I couldn't even faze a manticore what good can I do just by myself. I can attempt to teleport to the tree line but I need to be able to focus and to be standing still or the spell would back fire. Why did this have to happen two days after the nightmare moon incident.
The only thing I can do at this moment is to keep running and hopefully find a way to get away from this manticore. My eyes catch the site of a drop off that stretches for what seems like for miles across the forest I skid to a stop to prevent myself from galloping off the edge and in to a watery grave. I turn around to see the manticore standing approximately fifteen feet away from me it charges at me. A familiar purple aura surrounds my horn as I focus on casting a quick but unstable barrier spell. A small purple dome forms around me all I can do now is to wait for my friends to find me or wish for a miracle.
The manticore swipes at me but its claws are deflected by my magic shield the manticore roars in anger and continuously swipes at the shield. The shield starts to fracture after the tenth strike with one more powerful strike my magic shield shatters. The manticore razes it right arm to deliver to finishing blow my body starts to uncontrollably seizing in horror- I close my eyes and wait for it to finish me off.
“HERE I COME TO WRECK YOUR DAY!”
I open my eyes to witness a white pony tackle the manticore and send it flying a few meters away.
*My perceive*
I spot the source of the roars a large lion like creature is attacking a purple unicorn and judging from the screams I assume is female. It stands at least 20 times larger than me. The lion razes its arm to finish off the all most defenseless unicorn.
“Time to do something incredibly stupid”
“You’re a fucking dumbass if you think you can take on something that size”
“Don’t care, and besides I just can stand here and watch someone die”
I quickly take off my bag and place it next to a tree, don’t want it or the things in side of it getting damaged. I rush out of the forest’s brush and yell one of my battle cries in a sing song kind of manner; at full speed I tackle the lion thing with all my might. To my surprise I send it flying away a few meters.
“HOLY SHIT!”
“uhhhhh..”
“When in the hell did you get this strong?”
“Ether, A I’m a lot stronger than I thought or B this body is a lot more stronger than my human one, or C football practice made me in to a fucking beast”
“I’m going with B”
“I wouldn’t doubt that”
A thundering roar breaks me from my thoughts the lion is already up on its paws and looks very angry.
“Identify”
“It looks like a manticore a lion like creature that has a scorpion’s tail and bat wings it eats its pray whole leaving no evidence behind and they have very short tempers”
“You thinking what I’m thinking”
“Oh you better believe it”
*Both think in unison*
“Aggravate the hell out of it”
I spoke to it as if it was a kitten.
“Awww did I accidently interrupt up the puddy cat’s lunch time”
The manticore roars with hatred it obviously didn't like what came out of my mouth. It bolts towards me I stud my ground not even moving an inch, my ears catch a feminine voice calling out to me.
“What are you doing standing there run away!”
“I could ask her the same thing…why doesn't she run for it while you’re distracting it?”
“Who knows….maybe she’s crazy or something”
“I could say the same for you”
Ignoring my sub conscience’s statement I turn my attention back to the manticore whom was only five feet away from me. I quickly side step to the left causing the manticore to zoom past me. I turn around to see the manticore skid to a stop then face me with a smirk on my face I continue to taunt it.
“Awwww did the puddy cat miss me and fail miserably”
“What the heck are you doing, your just making it anger!”
I look back to the purple unicorn
“That’s the whole point”
“What?”
“Keep your eyes on the manticore that’s trying to kill you dumb ass!”
“Oh yeah right.”
I turn my attention back to the manticore only to see nothing there.
“Where the hell did it go?”
“He might have baled”
“I doubt that”
I scan the area for the mutant lion. There’s nowhere for it to hide all the rocks and boulders in the opening are far too small to hide something that big. It couldn’t have gone back in to the forest without knocking down trees to clear a path. It starts to get a little darker for some resign, hmm probably a cloud blocking the sun. I pay it no mind and continue my search.
“Above you!”
I immediately look up to see the missing manticore descending towards me. I swiftly jump backwards, doing a complete back flip in the air before the manticore could slam down on top of me. I land a few meters away from the manticore.
“Stronger, faster, and more agile I’m starting to like this new body of mine.”
“I’m giving the manticore some credit. It tried to do a sneak attack from above while you were distracted. Very impressive for a
mindless beast”
“It’s not as badass as me. I saw that coming from a mile away”
“Really? Then why did that purple unicorn haft to tell you where it was before it could turn you in to a pancake?”
“………”
“Just face it dude you just got your ass saved by a girl”
“I fucking hate you”
“I love you too”
I tune back in to reality just in time to see the manticore swipe at me with its claws. I jump back narrowly dogging its attack. It slashes at me again with its right claw, I raise my right fore hoof to block the oncoming strike. The attack collides with my fore hoof to my surprise it only moves me an inch across the ground. What was a battle of speed and agility is now a battle of brute strength and the manticore is winning, successfully moving me another two inches. But of course I’m not letting it win this easily I push back with all that I had. But I ‘m fighting a losing battle I push harder only to be overmatch in seconds by its superior strength.
“I think I’m in a little trouble here”
“I know, I know hold your horses I’m thanking for a solution”
I patiently wait for my sub conscience to think of a plan while I struggle with the manticore. A magical arrow with a purple hue collides with the manticore’s temple.
“Was that fucking soul arrow or something?!”
“Whatever the hell it was it looks like its pissing him off more than hurting him”
My sub conscience is right the manticore is more irritated by the magical arrow then hurt. More came in a barrage of magical arrows each that hit him slowly causes him to snarl more and more. After the 15th arrow the manticore snaps, completely forgetting about me and charges towards the purple unicorn. I ran after him, eyeing its tail a new plan pops in to my head.
“Oh no you fucking don’t”
*purple unicorn pov.*
My plan to aggro the manticore is successful, but now I have a new problem the manticore is heading straight for me and I didn’t have time to think of an escape plan. The manticore is roughly 150 feet away from me, I may have enough time to cast a sort range teleportation spell to behind those boulders about 50 feet to my right. I close my eyes and begin to concentrate a purple aura envelops my horn as I charge up the spell. I open my left eye slightly to see the manticore approximately 75 feet away from me. I re close my left eye and concentrate a bit harder. Almost done, come on just little bit longer. I peek again to see the manticore roughly 25 feet away I begin to panic as I redouble my efforts risking a magical overcharge. I open both of my eyes to the sound of a roar filled with fury-OH NO!
*My point of view*
The manticore is faster than I give it credit for. But still it isn’t faster than me I jump up to grab its tail but narrowly miss. I jump up and to try again, I miss again. Time is not on my side here, I need to stop this mutant lion before it can get to that purple unicorn. I jump once more to garb its tail. I manage to get both of my front fore hooves around the manticore’s tail. Gotcha, now pull over, I use my back hooves to act as a break to slow down the manticore, just in time too its claws misses the unicorn by a few inches. Now that it’s not running any more I begin to drag it away from the unicorn.
“Don’t start what you can’t finish!”
“That was not a bad plan; but what now?”
“How did Mario from Mario 64 beat bowser?”
“….You clever bastard”
I made sure to put some distance between the manticore and the unicorn. The manticore tries to shake me off, but I hold his tail in place with relative ease, guess their tails aren’t that strong. Once I have him at a safe distance away from the unicorn, I begin to balance on my back hooves and start to slowly spin him around by his tail. After about three full spins the speed starts to pick up as the manticore is lift up off the ground by a few inches. After six spins the speed kicks up to where all you could see of the manticore is a blur of tan colored fur. After the fiftieth spin at cyclone levels, I release my grip on its tail and send it flying at neck breaking speeds, towards a sizeable boulder. The boulder explodes in to tiny pieces on impact, leaving a cloud of dust and dirt in the air.
“And that’s how you kick a manticore’s ass”
“I’m actually surprised that you made it out of this without a scratch.”
“Hey!”
I back out of my thoughts and turn my attention back to reality…..if you can call this strange world reality. I glance over to my left to see the purple unicorn galloping towards me. I just stand there waiting like a badass, for her to reach me. Her facial expression goes from relief to frantic. This confuses me.
“In front of you!”
I look ahead of me to see a glimpse of a huge paw hit me, and send me flying through the air. I felt my back hit what I can only guess to be a tree, completely breaking it in half. I felt myself collided with another tree this time only embeds me in to the tree I pry myself out of the tree and fall to the ground. Pain courses through my body. The pain isn’t that devastating as I thought it to be in fact it felt like I got decked in the face again by that one gangster from last night. I force myself up off of the ground with ease.
“How in the hell did you survive that!?”
“I guess my body is more durable as well”
“No shit you just went through a fucking tree dude A FUCKING TREE! YOU SHOULD BE DEAD!”
“Just calm down and-“
A savage roar pierces my ears I look ahead of me to see the manticore worse for were. Its wings are bent in deferent directions, their diffidently broken. Its tail is no longer present did I accidently rip it off? Blood is dripping down its face and its missing a few fangs. His left paw is too injured to use, In short he got fucked up.
“It’s still alive; well I give it a B+ for determination”
“I kind a feel sorry for it, oh well its survival of the fittest”
Another soul or magic arrow strikes its temple more came in another barrage. I follow the arrows trajectory to see the purple unicorn firing more off towards the manticore. My jaw drops.
“SHE CAN USE MAGIC!?”
“Did you ever try to figure out where the magic arrows came from?”
“Umm no not really”
“What a minuet she’s using magic through her horn, do you know what this means!”
“Nope”
“Fool you can use magic too! You have a horn on your head”
“I do?”
“Did you seriously forget you’re a fucking unicorn?”
“Oh! Whoops I kind a of forgot I had one”
“Dumbass, now how do you use it?”
“Why are you asking me the only kind of magic I know how to use is in the bedroom.”
“Funny last time I checked your still a virgin”
“…..Why do always have to rain on my parade?”
“Someone has to remind you of the truth.”
“Whatever….maybe it works like the green lanterns ring, I just have to imagine it”
“But what spell?”
“Who said I was going to use some boring spell...I ‘m doing the Rasengan”
“Are you sure that will even work…..I mean a unicorn’s life hangs in the balance right now”
“Can’t hurt to try”
I gaze back over to the manticore it’s still getting irritated by the magical arrows. I better hurry or he’s going to take his focus off of me and attack the unicorn. I lift my right front fore hoof and begin to imagine the Rasengan forming on top of my hoof.
“Damn it why isn’t it working?”
“Dumbass! You have to concentrate to use magic use your geek logic”
“Oh right”
I try again this time not only using my imagination but concentrating as well. Using my horn as a medium I focus on the Rasengan forming on top of my hoof. A smirk appears on my face as a familiar blue aura began to appear on my hoof and starts to form in to a ball of magical aura spiraling in one direction like a hurricane at a wind speed two times greater than an f5 tornado. Leaves form the forest begin to spin sporadically around me.

“Keep your focus up or you’ll fuck up the spell”
“Right!”
Keeping my focus I look back to the manticore to see it bulldozing towards me ignoring the magical arrows that colliding into his body. I somehow dragon dash towards him, winding the Rasengan back to prepare for the attack. At about 15 feet away from me the manticore pounces at me. I dash under him dogging his claws and strike him in the belly with the Rasengan.
“RASENGAN!!!”
The Rasengan expands in size then blasts out sending the manticore in to the air, within a few seconds the Rasengan engulfs the manticore in to one giant wind ball of magical energy. The Rasengan grows smaller as it got further away only leveeing a quick shin of light before fading in to the blue sky. I jump with joy and throw my right front fore hoof in the air.
“I am a BADASS!!!”
“LEVEL UP!!!!!!”
"Congratulations you reached level 2!”
“Strength 35+10”
“Dexterity 25+10”
“Endurance 30+10”
“Vitality 27+10”
“Resistance 35+10”
“Intelligence 20+10”
“Badassery50+200”
“New spell learned: Rasengan!”
I turn my gaze towards the purple unicorn her face is priceless, her eyes are bugged out and her jaw nearly hit the ground. I make my way over to her smirking the whole way, she finally notices me walking towards her, she shakes her head a few times then starts walking towards me, her face had a somewhat stern look now.
“Hell-“
“ARE YOU CRAZY?!!!”
“Not really but-“
“First you stupidly try to start a fight with a manticore by insulting and provoking it which I don’t think there’s anypony alive that would do that, and then you almost get crushed after that you try to outmatch the manticore’s strength, and then you throw the manticore in to a boulder and you get hit through a tree and almost die, and then you almost magically overcharge risking both our lives, do you know what would of happened if you failed to control that spell?, it would of destroyed this entire area turning it and us in to a crater-.”
I sat down as she paces back and forth in front of me continuing her never ending lecture. I block her out of my mind and confront my sub conscience.
“Anypony?... So I guess that’s what they call themselves ponies”
“Sounds like a little girl’s fantasy”
I tune back in to reality for a brief second and examine the unicorn in front of me. She’s about the same height as me though I might be a bit taller, her hair err- mane is long and a darker shade of purple than her fur and seems to favor one side of her neck, her bangs are evenly cut and hover above her eyes, one streak of pink highlight runs through her mane and tail, her eyes are unusually big, then again I think every pony’s eye are unusually big, and their color like the rest of her are purple and a purple horn protrudes from her head. I spot something on her flank.
“Is that a tattoo on her ass?”
“Maybe these ponies like to have tattoos in kinky places I don’t know”
The tattoo looks like six stars or sparkles, the five small ones surrounds a larger one.
“Should I ask her about it?”
“If you can get her to shut up and listen to you”
“Um miss can I speak for a moment?”
She continues her rant as if I never said anything. My eye twitches a bit in irritation before I did anything I close my eyes and took a deep breath. I stud up and place my right front fore hoof on her lips casing her to stop her little rant and look at me with a questioning expression.
“Alright I am going to ask you a question and when I move my hoof I want you to calmly answer ok?”
She nods her head and I remove my hoof.
“Why do you have a tattoo on your ass?”
She raises her eyebrow and gives a look of confusion.
“I don’t have a donkey”
I face palm err face hoof and sigh.
“No I mean on your flank why do you have a tattoo on you flank?”
She glances at the tattoo on her ass then turns back to me.
“That’s my cutie mark not a tattoo”
“Cutie Mark?”
“……You don’t know what a cutie mark is?”
“Pretty much”
“Y-you’re joking right? Please tell me you’re joking”
“Nope”
For the second time today her jaw narrowly hits the ground. Ok I think this cutie mark thing is common knowledge to them I better think of a good excuses or she might ask too many questions or just thinks I am mentally ill.
“How can you not know what a cutie mark is?”
“Well I think my amnesia has something to do with it”
“What! You have amnesia?”
An ear shattering roar pierces the sky. Following the sound I turn around to see a group of manticore. Oh great just my luck, right when I was about to get some useful information about this world. I hear the unicorn behind me gasp. The overly massive manticore in the center of the group roars soon after the rest of the group or pride joins in. I cover my ears to avoid them getting damaged by the relentless sound. My god these bastards got some wind pipes. Miss sparkle butt behind me begins to uncontrollably shake, her eyes bugged out a bit too. But despite all that she seems to be keeping her cool pretty well.
“Why is there a pride of manticore so close to the tree line?”
“Whys that?”
“Only one or two manticores from a pride will go off to hunt near the tree line while the rest stay behind a lot deeper in the everfree so it’s very unusual.”
So their like lions, well I should have guessed that.
“I’m guessing that one manticore I just pwned was a member of their pride, and I’m guessing that they didn’t like that very much.”
Further supporting my theory the pride’s alpha roars with blood lust and charges the rest of the pride follows suit.
“What are we going to do?”
“Well I could always fight them”
“You can’t fight them you barely survived against one, what makes you think you can take a whole pride?”
As much as it pains me to admit it, she’s right I’m getting too overexcited over my new abilities and as much as I would want to test them out more and god knows that I do, the best option right now is to think of an escape plan and get out of this forest alive. My brain races for possible ways to get out of this. I quickly glance up at the pride, they’re about 150 meters away and at the speed they’re going it won’t take them long to reach us. I turn my gaze back to the unicorn.
“Do you have any ideas?”
“I’m in the process of making one”
She eyes the ground and begins to pace back and forth again while mumbling to herself. The blinding sun shines over the clouds and in to my face, damn it sun why do you always have to blind m-…..THATS IT! I turn to face the unicorn.
“Listen to me closely when I give the signal I want you to close your eyes as tight as you can got it.”
“But how is that-“
“Just trust me on this ok?”
She stud there staring back at me, her mouth closed shut her eyes giving me a studying gaze, she’s probably debating with herself as to trust me or not. I give her a reassuring smile.
“Ok”
I nod and with that out of the way, I turn my attention to the pride of manticores, they’re not 90 meters away from us now. The unicorn behind me starts to breathe a little faster.
50 meters, her breathing became uneasy.
“Are you sure this is going to work?”
35 meters, her eyes darts left to right while walking in place.
“I’m pretty sure it will, all I have to do is focus and imagine.”
“Hold”
15 meters, she looks towards me and gives me a panicking gaze.
“God I hope this works”
5 meters
“NOW!!!”
I quickly stand up on my back legs and assume the proper stance while closing my eyes focusing unknown magical energy from my horn I begin to imagine an awesome blinding light.
“SOLAR FLARE!!!”
I wait a few seconds before I open my eyes to see the pride of manticores roaring in pain while furiously rubbing their eyes in an attempt to fix their vision. Yes! It worked, I quickly turn to the unicorn her eyes are still closed.
“Come on let’s get out of here”
“Wait what?”
“Less talkie more runie”
I turn and bolt towards the forest. I glance over my shoulder to make sure that she is following me. She’s right behind me and keeping up the pace. We enter the dark forest after about a minute of dogging trees and shrubs. I make a sharp right turn, the sound of hoofs fumbling reaches my ears, guess she didn’t expect me to make a sharp turn. After 10 minutes I slow to a stop for a breather. The unicorn behind me also stops next to me, she’s panting heavily. A loud variety of roars breaks the silence, damn it their still on our tail. The purple unicorn turns her attention to me.
“What now, they’ have our sent how are we going to lose them”
I stare at the muddy forest floor in thought.
“Survival instincts activated”
I scoop up some mud in my hoof and throw it at the unicorn hitting her in the face.
“Why did yo-“
I stand up on my back hooves and slam my front hooves on the ground creating a small muddy tidal wave effectively covering her in mud. Without giving her an explanation for what I just did, I drop on to the muddy ground and begin to roll in it like a pig. Once I have mud all over my body I stud up and look back at the unicorn, her eyebrow is raised and tapping her hoof on the ground as if demanding an explanation.
“The mud covers our sent”
“And you know this how?”
A furious roar breaks through the sky, the sound of paws stomping the ground and trees breaking closely follows it. Shit they’re almost here, got to find a good hiding spot. I scan the whole area until I spot a large hollow out tree, perfect. I turn back to the unicorn and spoke in a hushed voice.
“There let’s hide in that tree”
I point to the tree in question and she nods. We quickly hide inside the tree in an attempt to lose the manticore pride. The tree is thankfully wide enough to fit both of us but not wide enough for us to have any personal space. I keep my eyes towards the exit of the tree until I notice something our hoof prints leading to the tree that we are hiding in. The unicorn next to me seems to notice this as well and closes her eyes her horn begins to glow with a magical purple aura. The hoof prints vanish and new ones appear leading in the opposite direction.
In the matter of seconds the manticore pride reaches our location, they stop and start to sniff around, must be confused that our sent disappears here. One of them got extremely close to our hiding spot, its eye are closed and it is sniffing the ground. What I’m guessing to be the leader roars to get the others attention, I feel something wrap around my left front fore leg. My eyes sift down ward to see two purple hooves wrapped around my leg.
“Aww how cute, I think she likes you”
“She didn’t grab my arm because she likes me she grabbed my arm because she’s afraid. Girls watching scary movies do it as the time.”
“So when are you going to ask her out?”
“Go die in a fire!”
The sound of roaring pulls me from my thoughts. The manticore leader seems to be commutating with the other manticores, He points to the tracks and starts to growl and lightly roar.
“Able to strategies and problem solve ok these manticores are defiantly sentient”
“And from the looks of it they’re proper hunters too”
The manticore pride moves out, following the fake tracks deeper in to the forest. We wait a minute or so until I decide that we’re in the clear but something stops me. I look down her hooves are still wrapped around my arm.
“You can let go now”
“Oh uuhh sorry”
She quickly releases my arm a light blush appears on her face. I ignore her and move out of the tree and start to walk through the forest. I hear the unicorn’s hoof steps follow me.
“So where are you going?”
“Nowhere”
“Oh in that case why don’t we find my friends I’m sure they’re really worried about me and we can head back to ponyville and then
why don’t I buy you lunch as a thank you for saving me?”
I stop dead in my tracks.
“Ether A she’s just being friendly or B she’s trying to get in your nonexistent pants……I’m going with B.”
“Didn’t I tell you to go die in a fire?”
“You did but that’s impossible for me to do”
“Why do I have to be stuck with you?”
“Because you’d be dead without me”
“Somehow I doubt that”
The feeling of someone shaking my shoulder pulls me back to reality.
“Are you ok? Did I say something to upset you?”
“No”
I begin to walk again heading to what I hope is the right direction. After a long walk of silence we reach to clearing. We pass through the clearing remaining silent the whole way through.
“TWILIGIHT!!!”
We both stop to the feminine voice that came from behind us, the purple pony whom I ‘m guessing to be this Twilight, why did her parents name her off of a book series about vampires that sparkle? Turns around and calls back to the voice.
“Oh thank goodness, GIRLS I’M OVER HERE!!”
“Dude! I got awesome idea”
“What?”
“I’m go en to pull a batman on her”
“……Do it! Dude it will be so fucking funny and awesome”
I silently jump high in the air and land silently on top of a tall tree. I peer down at the scene before me. Her friends appear from the brush, all five of them appear to be female.
“Twilight darling what has happened to you? You’re covered in mud!”
The one that spoke first, has a plush or high society personality, I just hope she doesn’t think herself above anyone else that would make me hate her a lot. She has purl white fur and violet main and tail with a curly style to them. Her eyes are dark blue they have make up as well to give them a more elegant look, a purl white horn protrudes from her head. Her tattoo or cutie mark as Twilight called it, is kind of hard to make out at this angle but I think its three diamonds or gems of some kind.
The one next to her, whom for some reason or another can’t stop bouncing in place. She has pink fur, her main and tail is a darker shade of pink and seems to be like cotton candy and bubble gum-ish in appearance. Ok I can understand the plush one next to her she can easily use a curling iron to get her mane and tail like that, but how in the fuck does that pony get her mane and tail like that, aren’t ponies supposes to have straight main and tails, which explains why my hair isn’t wavy and somewhat curly at the ends. You know what, fuck it I’m not even going to question it. Her eyes are blue and her cutie mark is three balloons.
“Well after we got separated, I got lost and I accidently step on an sleeping manticore’s noes”
*The five say in unison*
“MANTICORE!!!!”
“Oh my goodness, Twilight are you ok?”
“I’m fine Fluttershy thank you”
Fluttershy as Twilight calls her has bright yellow fur and long pink mane and tail that curls a bit at the ends, her mane covers most of the right side of her face with the exception of half of her eye. Her innocent eyes are a bright and somewhat pale green. Two wings are folded on her back, her mark is three butterflies and she has a rather timid and bashful personality. Oh great a shy girl, A deep sigh escapes my lips, my only weakness.
“Twi. Do you mind fillin us in at what happened?”
The one that just spoke has a somewhat Texan accent, she has light orange fur and a blond mane and tail both of which are loosely tied in a ponytail. Her eyes are a dark green and she has some freckles or sunspots on her face, her mark is three apples on top of each other. She’s wearing a cowgirl hat on top of her head. Great a cowgirl just when I needed to be reminded about home.
“Hey at lest you can relate with her”
“Just because I was born and raised in Kansas doesn’t mean I grew up on a farm or ranch. Plus she sounds like she come from
Texas rather than Kansas.”
Twilight starts to fill them in on what happened, explaining everything in great detail including my badassery, she excludes the part where she grabs my arm though.
“So if it wasn’t for the stallion behind me I would have been manticore food right about now”
The five of them look at each other then back at Twilight.
“Uh…Darling what stallion?”
“What are you talking about he’s right behind m-“
She turns around to see that I’m no longer there. Her eyes widen and her jaw drops to the ground. She starts to franticly look for me practically looking everywhere, well almost everywhere.
“H-how did he- where did he- why did he-“
She’s absolutely flabbergasted and oh my god her face, It’s even more funny than last time, I place a hoof over my mouth to keep me from laughing so I wouldn't give myself away.
“Hahahahahaha-....Oh god my lungs my metaphorical and nonexistent lungs!”
“Um Sugar cube ahr ya sure ya didn’t hit your head or somethin”
“I’m not making this up! He really was just right here.”
“Ah’m sorry Twi. But it’s just hard to believe in somepony with that kind of strength, especially for a unicorn.”
“Yeah, I doubt that there’s a pony more awesome than me and I’d bet that I can take down a manticore in half the time!”
“New challenger appears”
“Who dares questions my badassery!?”
I quickly turn my head like a raptor while doing an animistic snort. It’s the cyan pegasus standing next to Fluttershy. She has cyan blue fur and mid-long rainbow colored mane and tail that has an unkempt style to them. With hair like that I wouldn’t be surprised if she supports the gay rights group. Her powerful looking wings are folded to her back and she has a bit of fire in her magenta eyes. Her cutie mark is a cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt and she has a tomboy personality.
“Oh! Oh! He might just be a ghost or maybe a pony from the future or-“
The rest of the group seems to ignore the pink pony and continue their discussion while the pink one goes off on her tangent. The cowgirl pony speaks first.
“Well what did he look like?”
“Let’s see he about our age and he’s about my height probably an inch or two taller, has a black shaggy mane and tail with white tips, hazel eyes and white fur. And he’s wearing a black jacket with a dark blue shirt underneath. Oh and he doesn’t talk much”
“So we’re looking for somepony with a horrible black jacket?”
“BITCH SAYS WHAT ABOUT MY JACKET!!!”
“Whoa dude calm down, I’m sure she didn’t mean it”
“She better not have or I’ll break off her horn and shove it up where the sun doesn’t shine!”
“Alright but what about his cutie mark?”
“Oh his cutie mark ummm….I don’t think he has one”
I look at both sides of my flank and thankfully don’t see a mark.
“What! A stallion our age and he doesn’t have a cutie mark? Jeez he must really suck!”
“Rainbow! It’s not his fault he doesn’t remember”
“Watch yourself skittles! Or I’ll shove your head right up the white ones ass!”
“Man you’re really letting these ponies get to you.”
“I don’t take shit from anyone or anypony for that matter.”
“What it’s not like he can hear us”
“Bitch best think again!”
“And what do you mean he doesn’t remember?”
“After he got redid of the first manticore he asked me about my cutie mark, at first I thought he was joking but his facile expression
and his resounding “nope” told me otherwise. Then I ask him why he doesn't know about them, that’s when he told me he has amnesia.”
“Umm..uhhh…Twilight can you tell us his name I-if you don’t mind that is”
“I think my fucking heart just melted a bit”
“Oh shit! Manliness levels dropping quickly think of something manly!”
“Oh of course not Fluttershy, let’s see I think it was-“
Her eyes one again grows wide, I think I see one of them twitching a bit.
“Oh no! How could I've possibly forgotten to ask his name?”
“Uh-uhhh massive explosions uhhhh awesome battles uhhhh solid snake!”
“Don’t beat yaself over it too much sugar cube everypony makes mistakes”
Skittles reassures her.
“Yeah and besides if he is real then he would have took the road to ponyville”
“Ponyville? Is that some kind of town that’s near here?”
“I think that’s the town that one road leads to back at the tree line.”
“I guess it’s possible that he just went on ahead”
“Or he could have come from a different planet through a pond!”
“How the fuck!?”
“Ok now that’s scary.”
The pink ones outburst cases the whole group to turn their gaze to her.
“What it could of happened”
They all seem to not question the pink pony. Twilight continues the discussion.
“So any ways we best leave before it get dark or attract any unwanted attention.”
The rest of the group agrees with her and sets off. Whelp I guess I should go to that town that they mentioned, what was it called?...
Ponyville. I start to jump from tree top to tree top making my way to the tree line.
*5 minutes later, Twilights pov.*
As my friends and I make our way back to ponyville, my eyes catch the sight of something next to a tree. I break away from my friends and head to the object I pick it up with my magic and inspect it. It’s completely black in color. It looks like a bag of some kind that has a strap attached to it.
“Twi. Come on your fallen behind”
“Coming”
I quickly place the bag in to my saddle bag and gallop back to my friends.
