Nightmare couldn't help but let out a shuttering sob as she thought back on...well everything. Learning who she really was, what she did, and finding out that she was doomed to this!
"This is really our fate?" she called out into the dark hoping that the shadow was still there.
"...Yes." came it's reply "Or at least it could be, we both are immaterial...we will exist after all others die off, when the stars get snuffed out, when all is consumed by the inevitable dark...we will still remain here-or not depending on your answer-this is the end my dear," the voice said, voice cracking occasionally, "it's cold, it's dark, and it will remain this way until eternity ends."
"Until eternity ends?" Nightmare shouted, baffled at the contradiction, "That makes no sense!"
"Exactly, you won't be able to wrap your head around it, it's impossible to understand." A sigh echos throughout the infinite void. "I still haven't gotten your answer. So will you...?" The voice trails off, yet another sigh fills the void, a sigh of pity this time.
"Will I be forgiven?" she could already feel the the pat on the head coming up followed by a 'everything will work ou-'
"Forgiven by who?"
"Don't toy with me! You know who I mea-"
"No." Came the reply, voice laden with steel "You will not be forgiven, they will take your sorrow and crush you with it. They will mock you, they will scream and shout, and they will hate you."
Visions of six ponies using the elements of harmony came to mind, and the retching pain of being shattered along with it."Aren't you supposed to motivate me?" she shouted into the abyss, "how will telling me that its pointless help!"
"I am motivating you, but I will not lie to you, these are facts plain and simple, and besides..." the sound of shoes walking on hard stone comes closer, stopping as a appendage is held on Nightmare's withers "the forgiveness is for yourself, if you don't say 'I'm sorry' when you get the chance you will just spend your existence just moping in the dark. 'I wish I could have said sorry' and all of that nonsense, trust me I've done it. And you will too if you don't get it out now."
"How do you know I will! How do you know of any of this! How..." Nightmare falls to the ground, sobbing "Wh-who are you?"
"Because we are just that much alike..." the limb rests itself on her withers again "down to everything really, you did what you did for revenge, so did I. You fought the sibling you held dearest over it, so did I. You wanted eternal night, and I wanted all the light of the universe to cease being...the only difference is that you were lucky enough to fail." the voices owner held onto Nightmare's neck, crying just as hard. "This place...this isn't the future or anything like that, this is my universe, this is my success, I did this. And I sat here for so long. I waited in the dark destroying myself until..." both parties crying had simmered down at this point, though both still clung to the other "...I was given an offer, similar to this one, and I want to help before you suffer as I have."
Nightmare had so many question but only one seemed fitting for now "Who saved you?"
"The one who has suffered the most,Pura, I doubt you know her."
Both went quiet waiting for another topic until-"What would have happened if I had beat the elements?"
"...If you wish to know, I wont hide it."
A hole appeared in front of her, shining brightly in the lightless place. Nightmare peered in to see-
'-Herself in Luna's body standing in the throne room, ponys torn limb from limb at the bottom of the stairs, all surrounding Celestia who was looking up at what was once her sister, "Why Luna? Why would you do this?" I am not that pathetic wretch! I am Nightmare Moon!she bellowed *Have thou forgotten how you betrayed me? I think I will enjoy making you remember every second.***
Leaping upon her sister the Nightmare brought out a whip, a perfect tool for revenge.

"Sister I'm sorry!" Celestia screamed hoping that it could somehow reach Luna, she must be somewhere in there!

"Please make it stop!" Nightmare shouts, the hole shrinking until it was gone entirely.
"That is enough of that then, don't let that make you feel bad, those were entirely different circumstances, an entirely different you."

"Then what should I call you then?" The voiced cooed as it held the trembling mare tighter.

"Pura used called me Queenie so we can use that as a name." the voice let's out a chuckle "Speaking of never getting things, what is you answer?"
"...Yes," her tone was proof of her certainty "yes I will ask them for forgiveness."
Starlight could feel the smile on Queenie's face. "How will we get back?"
A hole appeared behind Queenie, revealing what she looked like, the shock was short lived as she look through the hole, the sun shining brightly on the other side, lush grass as far as the eye can see this could only be-
