The Everfree Forest, The very name brings fear in the hearts of the ponies that reside near its borders. It was however never like this, long before the taint of chaos the everfree was a grove of lush and verdant life. In this grove there lived the ursas, they protected the grove from all outside intruders and malcontents that wished it harm. but.. in the wake of discord, the suddenly vanished. or so it was thought.

In the era before discord the land of Equestria was beautiful and lively, much remain untouched by pony-kind in their squabbles with one another. The Royal Pony Sisters decided in one particular area to build their castle and marvelous it was at the time of its discovery, for here was the Veradent Grove a magnificent land with the brightest of life and rarest of creatures. The Pony Sisters known as Celestia and Luna The Sun and Moon raisers respectively. But here the Ursain warriors resided protecting the grove from all intruders and malcontents that would seek harm or strife of the forest. The sisters seeking peace and harmony accepted this and choose not to fight them on the matter for they were known for their cunning, strength, and sheer tenacity to see a battle to the end. The Ursain people eventually grew to accept ponies as kind gentle folk with no real harm to the grove, The princesses and chieftain of the Ursian tribes gathered frequently to discuss matters that happened around the borders or within them. Soon Discord came within the boundaries of the forest, the ursian warriors ready to attack this threat that they had no hope of beating. Thus began a battle with a one side victory, the ursian eventually pushed back their dens. They hid the young while the able bodied fought, the weak and elderly stayed to tend to the young. Celestia and Luna helped fight against discord and eventually imprisoned him within stone, unfortunately to late to save the Ursian. The last of the Ursian trudged to the steps of the castle and pushed their way into the throne room. They begged the princesses to save them, the told them they would only be able to save one of them that the spell would not be enough for all of them. So they choose their youngest and gave him soothing words of encouragement, they dubbed him Ursa, Last of the Protectors, Last Ursian Warrior. And so it passed the princesses casting their spell on him placing him in a deep slumber to awaken when they would need a protector most he would come.
