//-------------------------------------------------------// Friendship Never Was Magic -by Skinny Legs- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Spell //-------------------------------------------------------// The Spell Twilight scanned through the books, "Spike!" She shouted, and the baby dragon ran down the stairs, "What is it, Twilight?" He asked, and Twilight responded quickly. "I can't find that spell-book Princess Celestia gave me!" She grabbed him, and shook him repeatedly. "I put it somewhere..." Twilight slipped toward a shelf, and began pulling books out and checking their covers. "You mean the Spells-Of-Mysteries?" He lifted a book with a cover of magic, "That's it!" Twilight floated it over to her desk, "Thank you, Spike." She thanked Spike, and blew dust off it's cover. Then began flipping through the pages. "Awww, don't mention it." Spike chuckled, and scratched his head. He leaped back as Twilight stepped away from the desk, she gulped a bit, trying to remember the steps to completing the spell. The spell page was recommended for advanced unicorns. "I think I got it..." Twilight held her breath, a spark of light appearing from the tip of her horn. A aura formed around Twilight's horn, and then it all stopped. "Huh? What happened?" She looked at Spike, whose eyes whirled around from dizziness. "Did anything happen? Anything?" She asked the baby dragon, who shook himself. "I don't think so Twilight..." He spoke through a dizzy tone. Twilight stomped her hoof, "Why did Princess Celestia even give me a book!? If the spells don't work, what would it do?" Twilight paced around the room, "Why? Did something really happen and we don't know?" Spike blinked, and assured Twilight, "Don't worry, you can find another advanced skill in that book." Twilight sighed, "But Spike, that spell was the most advanced-" "Then maybe you don't have the requirements!" Spike pointed out, "Besides, you haven't been studying for a little bit ever since Rainbow Dash started entering contests and such!" Spike laid his head on the desk, examining the book. Twilight realized that Spike was right, she had ditched studying to go to Rainbow Dash's contests, which she would mostly win in. "Well, I should continue studying..." Twilight interrupted herself with a loud yawn "You should get some sleep, Twilight." Spike nudged Twilight up the stairs. "I'll turn the lights off, you get some rest so you can study in the morning." Twilight stumbled up the stairs, tiredness pulling her to fall onto the ground and sleep rawly there. But Twilight heaved herself into bed, covered herself with sheets, and fell asleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Twilight woke up, and yawned. She wiped her eyes, and got up, Twilight headed to the mirror to check her mane to see if it was fine. But what she saw was horrible. Twilight's jaw fell in awe, her mane was just like Cheerilee's and her horn had disappeared. "Oh no..." "What's wrong with my mane!?" She looked at the stripes she had, one was a deeper colour then it should be. Twilight raced out onto the stairs, guiding herself down. "Spike!" She called, and saw a white stallion sweeping the floor. "Spike?" Twilight tilted her head. Spike turned, and blinked, "Hey, Twilight!" The stallion had a white coat with a blue mane. "Uhh... You look like Fancy Pants..." Spike blinked, "What are you-" Twilight lifted a mirror with her hooves, and Spike nearly screamed. "Oh no! What happened!" Spike looked warily at the hooves, "Hooves! I HAVE HOOVES!" He screamed, but Twilight placed her hoof on his mouth. "My hands..." Spike whined under Twilight's foot. Twilight gulped, "I'm afraid to know." She looked over at where she stored the Elements of Harmony, seeing it was gone. "Oh no..." She placed her hoof down, letting Spike breath heavily. "Okay, be calm you crazy stallion... Or dragon.." Twilight turned and raced to the entrance to the Gold Oaks Library. Twilight ran out the door, "Spike! Look on what you could do to help this madness!" She called behind her, and ran to Fluttershy's cottage. She knocked as loud as she can on the door, "Fluttershy!" Twilight yelled into the cottage, but knew there was no reply. "Fluttershy, are you in there!?" Twilight called again, then gulped. Twilight backed away from the door, readying for collision with it. She felt her hooves thud the ground as she ran at the door, head-colliding with it and making it fall inward into the home. Twilight shook her dizziness from falling and banging on the ground with a wooden door. "Fluttershy?" Twilight looked up, seeing a short-maned mare with a white streak on the bottom of her mane. "Lyra..." Fluttershy covered her face, not wanting to be looked at. "Fluttershy! What happened?" Twilight asked. "W-well..." Fluttershy stuttered, "I was feeding my animals... It was normal... Then I went to bed, and when I woke up, my mane was like this..." Fluttershy's tone changed quickly, "I bet it's that Rarity who's messing up manes!" "No, Fluttershy!" Twilight tried to block the door, and Fluttershy tried to get out, but Twilight soon realized Fluttershy had a horn, and gulped. Fluttershy's horn had a sparked, and she teleported behind her. Twilight turned, grinning with advantage when she saw Fluttershy's strength was lowered due to using such a advanced skill. Twilight tried to run after Fluttershy, but she ran off, despite her power being drained. Twilight knew what she done, and that she caused this. But how? Then Twilight realized she had to get the Elements Of Harmony, she shook the thoughts away, and ran off toward where Fluttershy ran off. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Argument //-------------------------------------------------------// The Argument Twilight ran to the Carousel Boutique, once she saw it's shape, she was intimidated and then ran faster. Twilight smashed open the door with her pounding hooves, and gasped at all the ponies she saw, and they were switched too. Applejack had Braeburn's mane, Rainbow Dash's is Doctor Whooves', Rarity is Bon Bon's, Pinkie Pie had eyes that went all over the place, and she was a pegasus! Fluttershy had Lyra's... And Twilight had Cheerilee's, but she noticed that her mane was changed into a different colour a bit. "What happened to you ponies!?" Twilight asked, bewildered. They glanced at her, not happy at all. "Twilight! I'm so glad you came!" Fluttershy flew over, sighing with relief. Suddenly, her expression changed, "Why are YOU here!?" She shouted at Twilight, who's face changed from bewilderment to uneasy. "This is all your fault, Twilight!" Rainbow Dash pointed her hoof at Twilight. "Mine?!" Twilight nearly screamed, "How is it my fault!? I didn't know what happened!" Twilight slammed her mouth shut, she was transforming into a jerk like the rest of her friends. But then she kept on, "Your addicted to clothing!" She pointed to Rarity, whose ears flattened at the comment. "Your obsessed with contests and winning!" She pointed to Rainbow Dash, who pouted and looked away. "You do so many chores you can't even say things when we need you the most!" Twilight kept pointing, Applejack crossed her legs, anger bursting in her eyes, but Twilight kept on. "You love parties so much you want us to do them all the time when we have to save Equestria!" Twilight stopped, seeing tears well up in Pinkie Pie's eyes. "Pinkie... I'm sorry-" Twilight was interrupted by Pinkie's scream, "You should be! I've never seen a snobby pony as much as you, Twilight! I don't even know how we became friends at all!" Rainbow Dash thought about what Pinkie said, then nodded that it was true, along with the other four ponies. Twilight shrank back, and sat, leaning against a wall of the Carousel Boutique, the five ponies screamed at her, blaming her repeatedly for this mess, but Twilight didn't know how it happened, and she did not think it was fair to take the blame. "Why do I even like you!?" "I'd let you fall into a dragon's mouth!" "Shut up, Rainbow Trash!" "You shut up, Apple Brag!" "Hey Pinkie Prim!" Insults were whirled at each other as if in battle, Twilight got up, "Shut up!" She screamed over their voices, and the five other ponies looked over at her. "I am ashamed, all you ponies are fighting! I came here so we can travel to get the Elements of Harmony, but it seems all of you are too busy whining over your stupid manes and tiny insults!" Fluttershy flinched at Twilight's loud voice, she and Pinkie Pie lowered her head. But the three others bit back their lips, "Says you, Twilight Shouter." Rarity taunted, and Twilight wanted to put some sense into that mare, but because she had no horn, and niether did Rarity, they couldn't have a magic like duel. "Goodbye, you selfish jerks." Twilight threw the insults at Apple Jack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity, leaving the Carousel Boutique with her stomping hooves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Twilight lied down on her bed, reading a book on harmony. "What have I done, Princess Celestia?" She asked herself, nearly breaking into tears from the memory of her friend's angry faces, "They will clear up... Right Spike?" She looked over to see the stallion pouting. "Not you too..." Twilight sighed, shaking her head. "Wait, I should be getting the Elements of Harmony!" Twilight gasped, and got up. "Are you coming?" She asked Spike. "Hmpf." Spike retorted roughly, not even turning his back to say that in Twilight's face. "Fine, I'll do it myself." Twilight heaved her book into her bag, and placed it on her back. She headed out the door and slammed it shut behind her. Spike looked up, feeling guilt tingle in stomach, but his new rude personality kept him from running after Twilight to apologize or help her. Twilight stomped her hooves while she headed to the Ever-free forest. "Those ponies don't even care if I'm going to save Harmony or not! Well, I don't need them." She put her hoof into the forest, and stepped, hesitantly, into the dark forest. Twilight pushed the vines out of her face, careful not to step anywhere dangerous, even though the whole forest was dangerous. She saw a log that fell over a river, Twilight glanced around for a more modern bridge, but it seemed no one built any over this river. Twilight gulped, and began to crawl slowly across the log, Twilight nearly screamed when the log moved a bit, and she ran to the other side without stopping. Twilight rolled onto the land, feeling like kissing it, but it is never good to kiss the land after crossing a bridge in the Ever-free forest. She continued, starting to ignore the vines that would mess up her mane or make her trip. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spike slammed open the door to the Carousel Boutique.
