Redheart is a kind and hardworking nurse of the ponyville hospital. She's one of the most beloved nurses by the ponies that have come in or out of the hospital mostly thanks to her great attention, kind words and treatment, and a some times bossy attitude that some of ponies under her care described as "motherly and dedicated.
The thing is that outside her life as a nurse, the mare's life is quite lonely. One could say she only lives for her work and she works only to live. No time for friends outside her work, or meeting stallions to go out with. The small cottage she has at the outskirts of town is always deserted of life and always welcomes her after days of work with a somber silence.

She needed a friend, or at least a pet. Luckily she found one, a pet that is, but what the in Celestia's name is that thing?
