Yay! Ok so, we tag teamed on this story because we have crazy weird friends!!! Hope you like it!
Skatespark and Shimmer Shine
Idiots
Sometimes, you don't know what you have until its put right under your nose. This story is all about stupid ponies who have that problem. But, I am getting ahead of myself.
On a warm winter afternoon in Ponyville, a group of eight friends met at the park. They talked, laughed and overall enjoyed themselves for about three hours.
There was Lily, a unicorn with a light purple coat and a light pink curled mane. She always wore a pinkish dress that hid the lower half of her body. Although, ponies had seen her cutie mark. It was two masks with a sad face and happy face resembling her talent for acting.
Then, There's Melody. Also a unicorn but, she is a light blue mare with dark blue spiked hair. her cutie mark is a quarter note with a pencil for the spine. This resembled her love for playing the violin and, drawing.
Shimmer Shine was a pink pegasus pony with long dark red hair. One big star and three little stars was her mark to resemble singing.
The last of the mares in this group was Skatespark. An excellent unicorn with a red coat and a gold flowing mane. Her talent was skateboarding and her mark was her skate board; Katara.
All of these mares were looking for something to do on Hearts and Hooves day, which was only in one week so, they needed to think fast. Well, all except Melody. She knew things that the other ponies of the group didn't. Good things? Yes. Strange things? Oh definitely.
The colts of the group were just as clueless as the mares.
First, there was Blue. Blue was a tall fearless pegasus. His coat follows his name and is a dark blue color. His mane is a light purple and his talent is
Then. Cinnamon. Cinnamon is a dark red Pegasus colt with spiky black and dark purple hair. Although he is rambunctiously annoying, he manages to maintain around other ponies who he might scare. His cutie mark is a lightning bolt. Ya know, pegasus. Lightning.
Next was Symphonic Blitz. A Light brown random unicorn with a dark brown and pink short mane. His talent is playing the violin and his cutie mark is a violin with music notes around it. His fraternal twin sister just happens to be part of the group too. Lily and Blitz are thee son and daughter of a unicorn and pegasus couple.
The last of the group of friends is Triple Track. This burgundy Unicorn is known for being the father of corny jokes. He has a black shaggy mane and his talent is being an extreme video game player.
At the park, They discussed the daily news and whats going on in Ponyville. It was a warm but, cloudy day considering Cinnamon decided to be lazy. Again.
" Can you believe hearts and hooves day is only one week away!?" Melody said in excitement. The rest of the group had been dreading the lovey dovey holiday for some time now. For, none of them had a special somepony. Skatespark gulped down the rest of the sandwich she had and gave the cheery blue unicorn an annoyed look.
" Who cares about that stupid holiday??" The rest of the group mumbled in agreement. Melody looked at all of them and rolled her eyes before going back to her salad.
"I do" Blue said. Everypony stopped and looked at him in awe. Blue? Care about Hearts and Hooves Day?? He spoke up again " It is a special day for ponies to be with the ones they love" He glanced over at Lily who was poking her Sunflower Sandwich. Cinnamon burst out in laughter, causing the group to turn their heads in his direction.
"OK" he said through a giggle fit " Who are you and, what have you done with Blue?" Blue rolled his eyes and gave Cinnamon a scowl.
" I can care about holidays if I want to Cinnamon . Just because I'm a hardcore athlete with coltly obligations, doesn't mean I am not soft at times.." He said giving Lily, who was whispering something to Shimmer Shine, another look. Shimmer Shine giggled and tried to hide it behind a hoof. Triple Track looked at them with confusion.
" I didn't say anything to make you guys laugh, what are you laughing at??" He said in a serious tone as if funny was his job. Shimmer Shine cleared her throat and looked at Triple Track.
" No, you didn't say anything" She turned her head to Blue and Pointed at him with her left wing. " He did with his ' Coltly Obligations' " She said before Her, Lily, Melody and Skatespark burst into a laughing quartet. It took a moment for the colts to get it but, they joined with the laughing too. Melody was the last to stop laughing. She scanned the group and chuckled to herself.
" You guys are all idiots." She said like it was no problem. She chuckled again and then stood up. The group gave her looks of confusion and interest at what she was doing. " I bet I can get you each a special somepony BEFORE hearts and hooves day." The group sat in silence for a moment before laughing at their friend's comment. Melody put on a poker face and sat on her haunches waiting for them to stop. Each of them got up and picked up trash, getting ready to leave. The all made comments to Melody about her challenge.
" Good luck with that" said Blitz, throwing away an apple core.
" Have fun" Lily said following him, her glittery dress dragging on the grass.
" Yeah, ah,no" Blue said in a serious manner.
Skatespark walked away, waving at the group. Triple Track, living in the same area as her, followed.
Cinnamon walked up to Melody and put a wing around her, causing her to blush.
" Have fun getting this stud muffin a date, Mel." His wing came to his side and he said goodbye to the remaining ponies before, taking to the skies.
Only Shimmer Shine was left. She gave Melody an apologetic smile before giving her a hug goodbye. She flapped her wings and said "Doubt you'll find somepony as weird as me but, you can try!!"
Melody stared up at Shimmer Shine as she flew away. She chuckled to herself again.
" Idiots" She got up and went home. Getting ready for the weeks plans.. They will have no idea what hit them..

The next morning, SkateSpark wakes up to an annoyingly loud knock on her door. She sits up in her bed and rubs her temples
" Noponie's home!!!" She yells loud enough to make the pony go away. She lays back down and starts to drift to sleep but, her door flies open to reveal a blue unicorn. SkateSpark looks at the clock and looks at Melody.
" Melody, what are you doing!?" She complained to her friend "It's five o'clock in the morning!!!" Melody used her magic to take an envelope out of the saddlebag she was wearing. She levitated it over to SkateSpark's bed then replied
" Well, you said you weren't home so, I had to double check! I have to go get these to our other friends so, see you at the park at three o'clock this afternoon!!" With a spark of magic she was gone. SkateSpark opened the envelope with her gold aura and read it carefully. When she was done, she crumpled it up and threw it aside.
" Does she really expect me to go to this thing?" She asked herself while laying back down to go to sleep.
The next house Melody went to was Blue's. Luckily for her, she didn't have to bombard into his house because, he was at his mailbox. When he saw her, he quickly walked towards his door, trying to avoid conversation.
" BLUE!!!! I HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU!!!!!!" She yelled in an overly cheery voice. Blue stopped just before turning the door knob. He lifted himself up with his wings and turned around. He gave Melody a sigh before flying over to her and taking the envelope she was waving in the air.
" Thanks, Mel" He said as he opened it. Melody turned around as she saw Blue's eyes get wide.
"See you at the park at three!!!" She said teleporting to her next destination. Blue stood there with his jaw dropped. He gave another sigh before putting the paper in his stack of mail.
"Nope"
Melody went off to Cinnamon's house next.
Melody leaned up against the door and heard loud snoring. She guessed Cinnamon was still sleeping considering there were still clouds in the sky. After some loud banging and yelling for him to get up she heard a yelp and banging coming from inside. After a moment of silence the door flung open showing Cinnamon standing in front of a huge mess in his living room. Melody looked over his shoulder and decided she didn't want to discuss it. She levitated the envelope to Cinnamon and walked away with a worried look on her face.
" Were all meeting at the park at three today too" She said before she vanished.
The next destination was Shimmer Shine's house.
Since Shimmer Shine lived in a cloud house she would have to ask another pegasus to deliver her letter. She looked around but there were no other ponies in the area. So she decided to pull out some spare balloons she had in her saddlebag and make those her "wings." As she started to float above the ground she saw Shimmer Shine flying in front of her house.
" Hey Shimmerz!! I have a letter for you!!" she said startling Shimmer Shine. The pegasus turned around to see Melody and her balloons floating towards her.
" Hey Melody, have you seen Cinnamon around?" she asked looking up at the dark clouds above her house.
" Yeah he's probably still sleeping." Melody replied. Shimmer Shine looked back down at Melody and saw the letter she was holding in her aura.
" Ohhh what's that!?" She says flying down at taking the envelope from Melody's aura.
She quickly opens the letter and squeals in excitement as she reads.
" Oh my gosh this is going to be SO much fun!!! I have to pick out an outfit!!" She said zooming away into her house. Melody giggled to herself
"Ahh, typical." she said as she bit the strings of her balloons. When she reached the ground she teleported herself to Triple Track's house.
When Melody was almost to his house, there was sounds of a machine gun going off. She ducked behind a trash can that was in front of a house that was next to Trip's and covered her head. Once the guns stopped she stood up and walked towards his house.
" Oh come on!!! My machine gun should've wiped you guys out!!!" An angry voice said. Triple Track.. He was known for his rage gaming so, Melody decided to sneak up to his house and slip the letter under his door.
" He'll find it before three." She said to herself. " After all. It's only eight o'clock" With a flash, she was gone, off to her last destination. Lily and Blitz's house.
Unlike the last house she was just at , Lily and Blitz's house was very quite. She went to the door and knocked three times before hearing light footsteps. The door creaked open and she saw a light pink eye peeking out the door.
"Oh it's just you." Lily said with relief. Melody put her head to the door curiously.
" Is something wrong Lily?" she asked.Lily looked back into the house and replied
" No everything's fine. What's up?" she asked her voice back to a normal state. Melody leaned in closer, now on the door.
" Are you sure your..." CRACK she was interrupted by the rusty hinge on the door snapping. Melody fell forward onto Lily, holding up the door so it wouldn't fall on them. There was a pair of wings holding up the door with her. She was confused. There was no one else with them and neither of them had wings. She scanned the wings more carefully in the darkness of Lily's house and saw where they were coming from.
" Lily" Melody exclaimed " You're an Alicorn!?!"

Lily sat in her house with her brother. They had been talking for about an hour now on how to be safe around their friends and how to not get their secret blown. For Lily, it was in one ear and out the other. She was lost in a sea of thoughts as Blitz talked about the topic as if she was a school filly.
" I need to go get groceries" Blitz said getting up and walking out the door. When he was gone, Lily slouched in her seat and groaned.
" I don't understand!!" She yelled, her voice echoing through the empty house " I know we might get taken away but...." She paused, remembering what their parents had told them before they left for Manehatten... "We have friends who will protect us, He has Shimmer Shine! I have......" She stopped and shook off the thought. Too many times had she upset herself by thinking to hard about Blue. He was always there for her.... They grew up on the same street. He always got rid of the bullies that teased her about her dresses... He didn't see how much he meant to her... She looked at her dress and shook her head. " When will this be over?"
" Lily!!??" A deep voice said, startling her. She had no idea who it was but, they were outside
" Who is it!?" She said sounding as classy as she could. She stood up and walked over to the door. She put her eye up to the peep hole and smiled.
"It's Blue!!" He said smiling.
Outside, Blue remembered all the things Melody and Shimmer Shine had told him when they were flashed into his living room scaring the horse feathers out of him. Lily didn't want to tell and he understood but, he wanted her to know he loved her and he would be there for her.... Lily opened the door and smiled. Blue looked at her dress and his eyes got wide. She was wearing a white and gold rimmed dress. She was beautiful... He just needed a way to tell her that.....

You don't have to hide it from me...
" Hey Blitz!!" Shimmer Shine said when she found Blitz at the farmers market that day. She had been persuaded by Melody and Skatespark that she's the one that should be helping Blitz through this but, she still wasn't sure. She had never told anypony about her crush on Blitz in fear of it ruining their friendship..Now, she understands that she isn't the best at hiding it..
" Oh..Hey Shimmerz." He said looking up at Shimmer Shine before grabbing a tomato. Shimmer Shine had a bag full of groceries as well but, not as full as Blitz's. " How's your face today?" He said giving her a weird look. Shimmer Shine laughed and grabbed a tomato then, moved on to the next stand.
" Good! Yours???" She replied. She wanted to ask him why he didn't want to share about being an alicorn but, she knew she couldn't rush into it. He looked at her with a smile.
"Good, I guess" Shimmer Shine looked at him.
" What's wrong?" She asked the light brown alicorn while giving the strawberry seller a bit. He didn't reply... *Okay, Shimmer Shine. You need to get him to talk to you about it.. Stop focusing on how cute he looks when he is concerned and focus on the task at hoof* She thought to herself. He shrugged and payed the clerk.
" Just family stuff.." He said staring to walk out of the market. Shimmer Shine quickly put everything in her saddle bag and flew to him, flying along side him. He had all of his groceries in a pink aura. Shimmer Shine remembered how when she came to Ponyville, the tough colts made fun of him for his hair and magic color. She also remembered how she had told them to beat it and they listened because she lashed out her fangs... She chuckled to herself.
*Wimps* She thought. Ever since then, they had been best friends.. He has been so quiet lately.. She needed to get through to him. The problem is, she didn't know how.

Some Ponies Are Too Oblivious
We have a confession to make
Lily and Blitz invited everypony to their house so they could confess. Although they were both nervous, they held onto the words Blue and Shimmer Shine had told them a week before.
" Thanks for meeting us here everypony" Lily said to her friends who were anxiously waiting for the big reveal. Lily was scared of what her friends would think but, she knew they wouldn't judge.
" We have a confession to make" Said her twin brother with a smile. He knew that they would be okay.. After all, the dance was that evening and no matter what, they would have a great time. They both exchanged looks and smiled. Suddenly, there was a blinding flash of light in the room. Melody clung onto Shimmer Shine, who clung onto Skatespark who had wide eyes and a huge smile. After the light faded, they all looked up and gasped.
There they were, the two alicorn twins. The robe Lily was wearing had disappeared and in it's place. Two outstretched wings greeted the six ponies in front of them. The group marveled at how big her wings were before looking at Blitz Symphonic. On his head, a horn had come into place as if it was there the whole time. Simple Alicorn magic had made it possible, of course.
"Oh"
"My"
" Celestia!!!" The group chanted. They all got up and hugged the two twins. All except for Melody who was lost in her thoughts.
"Hey Shimmerz?" She asked the pink pegasus who was standing, talking to Blitz. Shimmer Shine turned and saw the worried expression on Melody's face.
"Hey" She started " What's wrong?" Shimmer Shine left her friends side and put a wing around Melody.
" We all still don't have dates to the dance... And it's in four hours!!!!" She hung her head " I thought I could do it..."
" Well" Triple Track said. He poked Skatesparks rib and made a gesture with his head..
" Sparky??" Shimmer Shine said, confused. " What did you do now??" The red unicorn squinted her eyes.
" I didn't do anything!" She said. " After the picnic, Trip and I were walking home and we were talking about the dance and we kinda..... maybe...... sorta"
" OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS ARE DATING!!!!" Lily said, her wings springing out. Everypony gasped. After a moment of science Lily started laughing. " Ha ha ha ha HA!! Shimmerz!! You owe me ten bits." She said
Skatespark rolled her eyes.
" Well" Blue said. Cinnamon followed after him.
" Thats good for you guys but.. we still don't have dates!" He said with a pouting face. " How does TRIPLE TRACK get a date and not me!!!! I have charm and...." He spoke on while Melody patted his back in comfort.
" Yeah... He has issues but, he's right" Blue said looking at Lily who was sitting with her head on his shoulder. As the group muttered in agreement, Cinnamon lurched up from where he was and sat by Lily.
" Lily??" He said with a shy smile
"Ummm, No" Lily replied scooting closer to Blue. Blue put his wing around her. " Cause I already have a date" The ponies were silent.
"What is going on today!?!?!?!?!?" Blitz said. The group looked at Lily as she looked at Blue.
" Will you go to the dance with me, Blue??" She asked him. They looked into each others eyes before he planted a soft kiss on her the tip of her muzzle.
" Of course" He said. Shimmer Shine and Melody jumped up and down.
" You guys are so cute!!!!!!!" They said in a fan girlish squeaky unison. They jumped up and down until they realized something. There are four of them left....Two mares....Two colts...
Hmmmmmmmm
"They are so oblivious" Skatespark whispered into her colt friends ear. He giggled as they thought of all the ways this could turn out..

That's all there is to it.
At the dance, everypony in Ponyville could tell that Melody and Shimmer Shine outdid themselves. There was a fountain in the middle of the place with streamers and balloons all above. A Whole food section with a chocolate fountain and of course, red and pink all over. In Ponyville, hearts and hooves day was always celebrated like this with a big dance planned by a pony who volenteered with an idea. Melody won this by pitching her idea "Love is right in front of you" Nobody knows why she chose that but, it fit perfectly for what she had planned one week ago.
Everypony was wearing dresses and bow ties for the occasion to make it more fancy. As ponies started walking in the DJ played music while ponies sang. Laughter and love was all around except for at one table.. Melody and Shimmer Shine sat at a table with just the two of them as their friends danced. Cinnamon and Blitz were the only ponies who hadn't shown up yet..
"This sucks,Shimmerz.." Melody sighed looking at her glass of Apple Cider. Shimmer Shine looked up at her..
" Can I ask you something?" She asked. Melody turned to her with a smile.
"Of course! Your one of my best friends!" She replied. Shimmerz took in a big breath.
"Is it wrong that I like my best friend??"
Melody's eyes went wide, her plan was falling into place!!! Well, all except her plan for herself which was depressing but!!! She would still make the rest of it work.
" No... You're singing right??" She asked..
" Yes "
" Then concentrate on who your singing it for." Melody said. Melody picked out the song because she wanted all of her friends to here it. She knew they all knew it so, they would all get it when they were with each other. As another crowd of ponies walked in. Melody saw Cinnamon and Blitz. She ushered Shimmer Shine onto the stage then, quickly ran the the back and whispered something to DjPon3. The Dj pony nodded with a smile and dimmed the lights.
" This is for all these ponies with special some ponies" She said comely. She cleared her throat. " And, if you don't have a special some pony and you have a friend here that doesn't either.. PAY ATTENTION!!!!" The crowd looked at her. " Message from Melody the blue unicorn". After she finished, Shimmer Shine stepped up and the music started.
" You wanna know something, Tripp??" Skatespark said as she danced with her colt-friend. They danced slowly according to the music. Triple Track looked into her eyes and smiled.
"What?" He replied
" I wished this could last" She said, her voice quiet.
"Well" He said looking up at the heart streamers above them. " Maybe with time, it can."
You're my one and only. You're worth more than a million bits. You're my rock, my anchor. You've been there for me through the worst of it.
Lily danced with her chin set on Blue's shoulder bone. She wondered why it took her so long to realize he was always right there... What she didn't know was that Blue was wondering the same thing too. He had always loved her but, not as much as he had since they moved to Ponyville. He wondered why he didn't realize that the thing he was longing for had been right under his muzzle the whole time.
"You know, Melody and Shimmer Shine didn't really get the term " Don't go crazy"" Blue said, laughing at the comment the comment he made to the two mares a week ago.
"Well, they have always been crazy!" She replied with a smile. He looked into her eyes and spoke softly.
" Just like I have always been crazy for you" Lily looked down shyly so he wouldn't see how red her face was. When she lifted her head back up, the began dancing again.
And now, after all we been through, ill be here for you. And now,oh, who I am kidding i can't talk to you like we used to do.
As Melody watched the performance she talked to Derpy out of boredom. Derpy asked her what her favorite kind of muffin was and she replied, not knowing Cinnamon was just around the corner.
" Well, I do really like Cinnamon." She said. Before she could finish a random blue box appeared in the middle of Derpy and Melody. A pair of brown hooves grabbed Derpy and pulled her into the blue box. After that, they disappeared. Melody shrugged it off and turned around to be greeted by Cinnamon eating a blueberry muffin.
" Hey Mel, I heard you like your stud muffins with Cinnamon, spice and everything nice." Melody let her jaw drop as her ears turned bright red.
"What!? No I don't.. Well it's not that I don't like you b-but I don't mean it like that I-I was talking about the spice and the stuff with the muffins a-and--" She stammered. She hid behind the clipboard she had in her aura. Cinnamon pulled the board down and smiled.
" Calm down, Melody! Do you wanna dance??" Melody threw the clipboard and hit somepony on the head.
"Clipboards!!?? Clipboards are for eggheads!!" The mare shouted.
Oh it's really hard to say it.. Here it goes I'm gonna say it.. I love you that's all there is to it.
Shimmer Shine stepped off the stage and was greeted by Blitz who had been sitting and watching while his friends danced.
"Shimmer Shine!! You were amazing!!" He exclaimed. They stared at each other for a moment as the pink mare waited for him to say something else. But, nothing.. Shimmer Shine looked at him and he laughed at her.
"You know it really reminded me of somepony." He said mysteriously.
" Oh really? May I ask who that pony is?" Shimmer Shine said, smiling.
" Yup, she has a pink coat. She's really fun and random.."
"Yes??"
" And she is over there with the princess. I'm gonna ask her to dance" He said as he pointed towards a pink pony with whip cream on her face. Shimmer Shine felt like her heart was getting ripped out of her chest and stomped on. Once Blitz saw her face. He laughed and put his wing around her. " Jeez Shimmerz, take a joke."
Shimmer Shine sighed and laughed as they walked onto the dance floor where all their friends were. They all danced for the rest of the night. Finally realizing that they are some VERY oblivious ponies.

That night changed the course of all eight ponies lives forever.
Blue ended up being a pro baseball player and had to move to Manehatten. Lily..She followed him wherever he went taking her dress line with her. She had sold the dresses she made and started up a business for herself. They sent letters and visited often though, everypony back in Ponyville missed them.
Melody had went to college to become an art at Ponyville's community college. With that, Cinnamon stayed right where he was in his hometown. He and Melody started a Party Cloud Shaping business and Their work was seen at all of Ponyville's parties from then on.
Skatespark and Triple Track opened up a skateboard-video gaming server shop. Together,they created the first ever video game where a pony could ride a skateboard to play the game. It was very successful but, they also stayed in Ponyville. Knowing someday everypony would be back.
Finally, Shimmer Shine and Blitz started up a career of music. He would play his violin, making the tune and she would sing. They traveled all of Equestria to perform shows and parties but, returned home after a year of music.
The group was very far apart at times but they knew that they wouldn't be separated. They also knew that no matter what distance, they will always love each other.
