Many years after world war two, in the United States…
It was a dark moonlit night in New York City as a strange man dressed in a bizarre red outfit jumped from rooftop to rooftop. The man was Frank Goldfinger, an American who acquired ninja skills than once helped save the world from evil. He had just finished his nightly search for villains and crimes to thwart. Eventually knowing that the city was safe he returned his downtown apartment. Once Frank got to the rooftop of his apartment building you jump through the hidden entrance he made a few weeks ago, inside his apartment cluttered with various ninja weapons Frank tossed his large ninja sword, which happened to be a large wood saw on the ninja blade hilt on the run down pink sofa in the corner. Frank took off his rather bright red ninja grab, and settled in his old brown easy chair to read today newspaper.
“What a night...I swear I'm getting to old for this...but Justice never rest!” Frank always had a way with being dramatic as he saw himself as a defender of justice in the gory of the states. Frank turned the paper to the next page when something on the kitchen table caught his eye.
Frank forgot he received a package earlier today, by one of his old ninja masters. Frank quickly got up from his chair and looked at the package on the table. He moved it around in his old hands trying to guess what was inside like a child on Christmas day.
“I hope it’s a new training book!” Frank quickly tore of the brown wrapping paper to discover that it was a book, just not one he expected.
The book in Frank’s hands was the legendary cursed tome, the Émigré Manuscript, book that held the secrets that no mortal should ever play with.
Unfortunately Frank didn’t know that.
“What a creepy training book...oh well, if it helps me safeguard the States then I must learn its secrets!” Frank quickly opened the book to find it written in a language he didn’t know, he looked throw page after page until he found one spell in the ancient tong of the ninja clans of old.
“Ok here is one….Transcending Shift...the ability to disappear and reappear, anywhere no matter the distance...that sounds useful!” Frank yelled to himself with glee.
Frank put on his red warrior outfit back on, pinked up his sword from the sofa, and stood in the center of the room with the book in his other hand. He chanted the incantation and focused his chi.
“Ninja art: Transcending Shift!” Frank yelled as in a flash of sliver light that could be seen for miles he was gone.
Frank awoke to the afternoon sun’s warmth of. He slowly picked himself off the dirt ground while he allowed his eyes to adjust to the blinding light. He hoped he was in Hawaii like he planed as he brushed the muck off his clothes.
However, as Frank eyes finally focused on the sight before him, it caused an odd mix of awe and fear within the poor ninja. He was on an old dirt road that lead to a glistening city, he stood there as the city before him was beyond amazing. A city with bight glorious colors, and architecture that had no rival was built on the side of a large mountain.
"OH MY GOD!" Frank began to panic.
Frank quickly slap his face, and closed his eyes hoping that he was just dreaming. Unfortunately, he opened them to the same sight. He knew where ever he was, it was defiantly not Hawaii. Frank saw the book on the ground just a few feet ahead of him which he quickly ran to and try to open, however he found he couldn't open the book as if it was locked magically.
Frank found this...unnerving.
“This is bad, really bad! Come on you stupid book take me back home!” They yelled at the book at the madmen and tried to use Transcending Shift again and again, but nothing happened.
Suddenly to his surprise a large amount of screaming erupted from the city as if it were under attack.
Frank took out his ninja spyglass from his back pouch and looked through it to see what had looked like swarms of large bugs dive into the city. His thoughts, and feelings of his own situation quickly settled as an old, but powerful thought coursed his mind. People were in trouble...that and maybe they could help him get back home.
Frank found his resolve and dashed to the city in peril with his great ninja speed.
Queen Chrysalis, ruler the changelings was enjoying her day despite the meddling of that annoying unicorn. Her changelings quickly descended upon Canterlot, and were rounding up the pitiful ponies that oozed with love, and positive emotions that changelings fed on. Her changelings were very hungry and her duty to her kind was the top priority, even if a few ponies suffer because of it. Though she would admit to enjoying the pain they felt.
"Nothing will ruin this wonderful day!" she gloated over the poor bride and groom as her changelings soon brought back the six ponies who were going for the elements of harmony.
The stone streets of Canterlot where in chaos as the horde of changelings attacked, and encased ponies in quick drying slime for their future feedings. The city guards tried to fight back, but soon joined the citizens in imprisonment. This was a grim time for the city, and soon all of Equestria.
In the streets a young filly was crying, she wanted to be home with her family who were trapped in the slime with the other ponies. She looked up to see changelings coming at her so she ran as fast as she could but tripped and fell to the ground. She closed her eyes at the changelings came closer.
“Ninja Art: Demon Bomb!” out of nowhere a firework ball hits the charging changelings, exploding in colorful lights causing the fiends to filing away. The parents of the filly looked in horror as smoke surrounded there daughter. The smoke clear to reveal that there daughter was safe with some strange creature trying to protect her.
Frank emerged from the smoke to see the stares of confusion from the capture creatures around him which he could only think of as miniature horses. Frank also received lots of looks of rage from the bug monsters, who were now flying towards him. He didn't care, he could tell by the looks of fear on the horses faces that they were just innocent creatures being terrorized, forced away from their homes.
“No one hurts the innocent on Frank’s watch!” Frank quickly jumped on the rooftop of the nearest building as the changelings closing in.
Within seconds the changelings tried to ram into this strange creature who was interrupting there meal. However Frank may be dense but he isn’t weak as he used his sword like a baseball bat to smash the bugs into the air.
“Don’t worry I hit you with the blunt side!” Frank yelled at the changelings who he sent fling like a homerun baseball.
Frank could tell as he jumped over several stone rooftops that there were to many bug creatures to fight one on one, there must be a leader. To Frank's relief he could see a large she-bug monster in that chapel window. Frank ran as fast as he could until he reached a new granite wall to which he jumped onto the wall and began to run up it to the surprise of many changelings and ponies as they watched him.
Frank after a minute of running up the wall you've reached the balcony in jump through the glass window the surprise of Queen Chrysalis and several ponies. Frank then did several cartwheels and then landed on the other side of the chapel room.
"Who and what are you to dare challenge me!" Queen Chrysalis demanded to know.
Slowly Frank put his massive sword on his shoulder in a heroic pose as he pointed at the Queen and said.
The name’s Frank Goldfinger, the Great Defender of Justice!”
The chapel room was silent as the ponies watched the queen of the changelings and a strange bight red creature stood their ground waiting for the other to make the first move as everypony, including Twilight, wondered what this creature was.
"What is that? I have never seen such a creature?"
Twilight's mind was racing as there were more questions than there were answers, however she turned to see her brother Shining armor next to Cadence. Snapping herself back to reality, and the real situation of the changeling’s invasion she quickly thought of an idea.
With great speed Frank charged at the queen. Chrysalis focused her magic in her blackened horn and fires a blast of emerald green light at a strange monkeylike creature. To her surprise Frank quickly jumped over the magical bolt and then launched himself in the air, so to come down on the queen with a powerful strike of his sword.
Unfortunately five of her changelings flied in to the broken glass windows and knocking Frank away from their Queen. Frank was surprised, but quickly backed flipped in the air, and landed back in fighting stance as five new fighters joined the battle.
Twilight moved to over to the distraught Cadence and Shining as the creature distracted the queen.
"Are you ok?" She looked over the couple to see if there was any damage.
"We're fine Twilight, but I don't know if that thing can beat the queen, what do we do?" Shining looked at the fight as the thought of more changelings joining this battle would crash this surprising ray of hope.
"Can you use your barrier spell to repeal the changelings?" Twilight asked
"That could work, but the queen almost completely drain my energy, I don't have the strength."
"Then let my love give you strength." Cadence placed her horn next to Shining's horn causing a bright magical light to glow around them.
Frank now had to deal with these big flies again, it's a good thing he had another card up his sleeve as in an instance he disappeared into thin air.
"Where is that thing?!" Chrysalis question was soon answered as her changelings were now in a cloud of smoke that appeared from nowhere as one by one they fell to the stone ground.
"You think your little smokescreen will save you!" Chrysalis began to charge her magic and aim her horn to destroy the entire roof of the building, until a light coming from the bribe and groom caught her attention.
Both Cadence, and Shining Armor levitated into the air, glowing with a pure magical light. Soon Shining's barrier spell was cast, blasting the queen, and all changeling in canterlot into the air far away. The battle was won, and the city saved, Twilight ran to her teacher, Princess Celestia to see if she was hurt.
"Princess are you ok?"
"I am fine twilight, I'm just not as young as I use to be." Celestia said as she rubbed the back of her sore neck.
Twilight was relived at her teacher's safety however she gasped as she turned to the creature to find it laying on the ground. Everypony quickly ran to Frank to find he was still breathing, but he looked like he was knocked out by a falling rock from the ceiling. The ponies surrounding the hero were quiet for some time, until one spoke up.
"What is it...or he?" Twilight started as her mind tried to solve this puzzle.
"Maybe he's a shaved diamond dog." Pinkie pie blurted out
"I don't believe so." Rarity scanned his outfit.
"I have never seen an animal like this, almost like a monkey, but..." Fluttershy's mind was busy trying to processing this information.
"Well I haven't got a clue what he is, but I reckon if he went to the trouble to fight those varmints then he can't be that bad." Applejack had a good point as Rainbow Dash quickly agreed.
"AJ is right, plus did you see him fly in and beat the Changeling queen? That was pretty cool!"
Celestia soon brought order to the discussion as she told the ponies that no matter who or what this creature is it clearly tried it's best to save them, and gave Shining Armor and Cadence enough time to repeal the changelings. everypony agreed with the princess as the guards came into the cathedral to check on the princess, Celestia quickly told them to take the creature to one of the guest bedrooms and have guards stand by outside.
"Now let are guest rest as now with the real cadence we can have a true wedding." With that the ponies quickly prepared for the wedding of cadence and shinning armor with much more positive results.
Shining Armor, Princess Celestia, and the other ponies apologize to Twilight for doubting her in the beginning, although Twilight didn't hold it against them. Princess Celestia was commending Twilight Sparkle, for it was her instincts, and conviction to them that ultimately saved the day. The wedding ceremony was quickly rescheduled, with Twilight eagerly overseeing preparations for a much happier and profoundly appreciative Cadance. Shining Armor, and Princess Cadance were soon married, and an ensuing celebration occurs.
Meanwhile Frank slept like a baby as he lay on the silk sheets of the guest room.
