6 years later..

"UGH!I I'm so BORED!" Skyla whined.

"well maybe we can play a board game again," breazle suggested.

"no thanks I want to go outside I want to meet other ponies and go to a real school!" Skyla yelled while looking out her window.

Breazle thought. "Hmm.. maybe next year I don't think your parents agree that your old enough".

"I don't care what they think! I want to go out I think I'm old enough isn't that what matters?"

"No," breazle said blankly. "Maybe I could go talk to your mother about it."

"That would be great! but make sure you be extra persuasive this time all the last times you tried she said 'no'."

"I'm sure she will say yes this time. I have more reasons than just 'she's bored' this time I'm sure."

"Thanks Breazle!" Skyla yelled as she left the room.

-30 Minuets Later-

"Skyla good news!" Princess cadence said while coming in. Skyla looked up from her drawing.

"Is it about daddy again?" Skyla said still bored.

"Well..no this is about you."

"what about me?"

"well I'm going to let you out of the castle today just so that you can explore the empire," Cadence said just as shining armor came in.

"REALLY!?" Skyla asked in excitement.

"NO!" Shining Armor yelled from the door.

"what?! PLEASE," Skyla begged giving the puppy eyes.

"Shining I'm just letting her out for today." Cadence stated.

"Cadence I cant risk her getting hurt." Shining responded.

"Oh come one shining she has been cooped up here for 6 years, plus getting 'hurt' is part of life." Cadence protested

"You know what I mean. I just don't thin-"

"DAD!" Once Skyla got Shinning's attention she gave him the puppy eyes, she puffed out her lip and somehow managed to get a fake tear. "Pwease!" She said in the cutest voice she could manage.

"ugh fine," shining said sighing but giving a little grin at how cute her daughter looked.

"YES! THANKS DADDY!" Skyla yelled hugging shining's leg she then grabbed her saddle bag and walked off towards the door.

"But! you need to stay away from the dark kingdom what happens there is beyond our control." he warned.

"Ok dad I will!" Skyla said excitedly, as soon as she thought she was out of earshot she gave a more victorious smile. "Ha! the puppy eyes, works every time," Skyla said proudly 'as long as mom is on my side' she thought walking out the door.

Shining's eyes got wide and his mouth dropped "Did she..?" He looked at Cadence.

Cadence giggled," Just let her go she'll be fine." She walked through the hall way towards the throne room leaving Shining and Breazle in the room alone.

Shining bent down and whispered to breazle. "Keep an eye on Skyla I know she is bound to run off."

"Of course," he said confidently, and ran off towards where Skyla left.

Skyla walked around looking at homes and other crystal ponies, there weren't very many ponies because some adults were at work and the fillies were at school so the streets where almost empty. Skyla was hoping that were would be more ponies when she was able to go out she wanted to meet more people but she just kept walking looking around.

"Skyla wait up!" breazle yelled trailing behind.

"Breazle what are you doing here? Ugh my dad sent you didn't he? he doesn't trust me does he!" Skyla said getting annoyed.

"No, no, no! I...I wanted to see everything just as much as you do,"

"what? you come out here every day!" she argued.

"says who?"

"I see you disappear out the window whenever you say your going to bed." Skyla said getting irritated. "why are you really here?"

"uh.. OH! I wanted to show you around so you don't miss anything." he said while giving a nervous laugh hoping she would by it.

"OH ok! lets go!" her and breazle walked by more houses and to the library.

(Chapter 3) Exploration

"wow there is a lot of books here, more books then they have at the castle!" Skyla whispered in awe. She started to look through the books looking at each one with interest.

"Yep a lot of books hey you want to see the school they have at the empire?" Breazle asked.

"you bet I do!"

"Ok princess, right this way," Breazle said opening and pointing out the door.

They walked all around the empire to the school where Skyla saw a big red crystal building with a big bell on the roof it had little stair steps that helped you get into the door. They also had a playground that was filled with scooters and jump ropes and swings.

"Breazle, do you think that if I ask mom and dad will let me go to school here?"

"I don't know Skyla I guess its worth a shot."

"I'm sure I can get my dad on board I just need to get mom to help." Skyla walked up a few steps. "can I go in?"

"No they are in the middle of class and your not allowed." Breazle yelled right when Skyla touched the door.

Skyla stopped and walked back down the stairs. Breazle and Skyla watched the class for a while watched them do work and listen and play for quiet a bit, when Skyla turned around something caught her eye.

"wow breazle what's that place over there" Skyla asked in daze while walking towards it.

breazle turned and saw Skyla walking away he saw where she was headed and quickly grabbed her tail to stop her.

"Skyla! no that's the dark kingdom you cant go over there its to dangerous!" He said pulling her away.

but breazle! it looks so cool! The little princess complained in response.

"C'mon Skyla." He said getting her attention away from the other side of the kingdom. "I've got a few more places to show you." He and Skyla walked all around town. Soon they cam upon a playground.

"Wow! this looks just like the playground in the castle backyard except bigger!" Skyla exclaimed. She ran off to go play and breazle ran after her. Skyla and breazle got on the structure. Skyla and Breazle made a competition on who could finish the obstacle course. First was the Pedals. Skyla jumped from one to one losing her balance once in a while, Once she catches herself she moves on finally making it to the end. Breazle was already on the ropes. Skyla ran to the ropes where she carefully walked along the wiggly string. "Whoa-AAHH!" The filly lost her balance and fell into the sand.

"You alright Skyla?" Breazle asked running along the last course.

"Yeah." Skyla said getting up. "I'm done." She saw Breazle was just about to finish, "Bets off!" She yelled right before breazle finished.

"WHAT?!" Breazle yelled. Y-you cant do that!" he yelled.

"Yea I can! I got hurt." She said pouting and holding up her hoof.

"You said you were fine!"

"Fine I can because I'm a Princess and future ruler of this land." She gave a confident smile.

"Future ruler remember"

"W-well you cheated I'm leaving it at that!"

"I did not cheat I just used what I can, Speed and Claws" He said holding up his claws.

"Fine lets just go to the next thing you wanted to show me." With that they walked off. "Remind me never to challenge a rodent." She mumbled.

"What was that Skyla?"

"Nothing!"

"Were here." Breazle announced getting Skyla's attention.

The filly finally got the last bit of sand out of her mane from the playground. "Where is here exactly?" She asked.

"The Hayburger." He said. "They have at least 1 in every state of equestria!"

Once she saw it her tummy grumbled. "Yummy!" They walked in. "Breazle do you have bits?"

"I snuck some into your saddle bag." He watched as she pulled out a bag of bits. "What do you want Skyla?"

"Ooh! Ooh! I want a 2 daisy sandwiches hay fries an apple and water."

"Wow somepony's hungry." He looked at the waiter. Can I have a bag of nuts, 2 waters hay fries an apple and 2 daisy sandwiches." He looked outside and saw Celestia's sun setting. "And lets make that to go please. Skyla?" The waiter could only stare and nod as the little princess before him put her bits on the counter.

"O-of course your highness." he gave a quick bow and went to prepare the food.

"This was a fun day, I wish it would be like this everyday!" She sighed. "I'm going to ask mom if I can go to school here."

"What about your dad?"

"I don't worry about him, if I could get him to let me lead as captain of all the guards of the empire for a day I can surly get him to let me go to public school."

"The why didn't you get to lead the royal guards?"

"Because mommy said 'no' ugh she's no fun when it comes to using my cuteness on peoples she's like the only one whenever I try I get grounded." She puffed put her bottom lip and made a pouty face.

"Ahem." Breazle folded his arms.

"Oh yea your no fun too." She corrected.

"Here you go your highness." The waiter said he bowed and gave the bags of food to Skyla. Skyla put five more bits into his cap. "Here's a tip and thanks!" She grabbed the food and walked out.

"Sorry about that!" Breazle yelled back as he chassed after Skyla. She stopped and waited for him to catch up. "Skyla there is someplace I want to show you before we gotta hurry Princess Celestia's sun has already began to set. With that Skyla followed her companion up a tall hill. They sat down and started eating.

"Wow its beautiful!" Skyla said in awe.

"I know, you were right I always sneak out when I get the chance and when I do I come out here sometimes right before you go to bed." He sighed.

"I knew it." Skyla whispered under her breath. They watched the sunset until Luna's moon was up and taking over the sky. "We should go its past my bed time, mom and dad must be mad. Breazle nodded and with that they walked off back towards the castle.

(Chapter 4)The Talk & The Dream

Skyla and breazle walked through the doors meeting the glare of two other ponies.

"Hehe.. Hi mom, dad" the filly laughed nervously.

"Skyla? why did you stay out so late? we were worried sick, I almost sent a search party for you." Shining said as he waved a group of royal guards away.

"Breazle was just showing me the sunset up on a hill it was beautiful!" Skyla sighed.

"Well you missed dinner." Cadence said walking up to the group.

"Oh me and breazle ordered food from the hay burger." Skyla smiled.

"Oh very well then if you already ate the you should head off to bed its getting late." She said walking her daughter to her room leaving Shining behind to talk to breazle about what time Skyla should have been home.

As they made it to her room Skyla started brushing her mane. "Mom? could I ask you a question?" As soon as she was done Cadence walked over.

"Sure sweetie what do you want to talk about?" She said starting to braid her daughters mane.

"C-could I go to school? A-at the empire?"

"Oh but honey you do."

"I mean at the school with other ponies. I'm tired of being alone at the castle the only pony with me is the private tutor which only stays for school hours and breazle."

Cadence obviously caught off guard put a bright blue hair tie in her daughter mane and started braiding her tail. "W-well I-I don't think I have the time for this kind of talk right now honey."

"Why? why cant I go to school with other ponies, y'know? its really lonely in the castle alone."

"You got breazle-"

"Not the point, you know what I mean mom." as Cadence put the last hair tie in Skyla turned to her with a serious look. "Mom did I do something to be grounded for my whole life?"

Shocked the grown alicorn gave her daughter a sad look. "N-no you didn't do anything sweetie, I-I'm sorry I made you feel like your being punished for something you don't even know what you did." she sighed.

"W-well I guess I don't feel completely grounded I mean you buy me anything I want I can get dad to do whatever I want." Skyla giggled. "Actually the only thing standing in the way of me controlling dad is well... you."

Cadence joined in on the silliness too. "Well its not his fault your so adorable you got that from my side."

Skyla giggled again but then got serious again too. "But still besides getting almost anything I want I get everything except being with other ponies." She thought for a minuet. "This is when yolo comes in."

"Yolo? What that?"

" you only live once.."

"Where did you hear that?"

"Breazle said he read it in one of the libraries books."

"Figures he used it on me when he convinced me to let you out for the day."

"Anyway the point is.. why do you keep me inside all the time?"

Cadence sighed. "When you were just born we and after we brought you home we kept you a secret for a while only the other princesses, the guards, and our family knew. The more the time went by the more me and dad had to work on royal duties. We had to get you a baby sitter and almost a full time on too, Because none of the guards knew how to take care of a new born, Flash wanted to he volunteered many times and at some point when the baby sitter wasn't able to make it, he was there for you. But what we forgot to do when we hired the baby sitter was tell her that we didn't want anypony to know you were here yet. She went around telling friends and her friends told friends and friends told friends and by then the whole kingdom knew, news spread fast around here. We knew we couldn't do this for long so we finally set a party for you and everypony got to see you and give gifts it was one of the biggest parties we ever had in the empire. But towards the end not more than 5 ponies showed up and they look different from the rest, you see all changelings have been in battle so how you can tell is their scars cant morph like them so if you see a pony with black scars or if a pony bleeds and when have green oozing from their wound then they are changelings in disguise.

"So they were changelings?"

"Yep the "normal" ponies had black scars all over their body. as they neared you, you started to cry and flash came to you side before any of use could, I swear its like he has super powers when it comes to you. Anyway when he picked you up the first thing you looked at were those changelings and started crying more. We quickly found out they were changelings. All the guards in the room surrounded them and before they fled they said "'Sombra and Chrysalis have been waiting for this day, we are only messengers if we fail to get the princess and it looks like we have. They said they will get their revenge for banishing them to the canyons for five years and for taking their kingdom from them.'" And just like they were there a flash of green light and they were gone."

"So I've been here longer than I thought?"

"Actually kind of we let you outside for as long as we kept you in as a baby so around six months but many times you were out there you started to cry and sure enough there was always a changeling around. Flash stayed by your side the whole six months and each time you cried he was there in well a flash. But each time your cried while outside the castle we found a changeling nearby, still some changelings are good but for some reason you don't cry around them only the ones that are evil. We kept you out only a little longer than six months to test our theory and soon we realized you have some feeling when there's evil nearby, but we all agreed you cried over it too much and they got too close to you, we've had some close calls but thanks to your 'instinct' were able to get to you in time but we all agreed its for the better if we keep it in."

"Well I'm not a baby now! I'm not defenseless."

"Yes true but do you know how to fight?"

"W-well.. no.. but I'm sure I can get dad to teach me!"

"Dads always busy honey."

"I can get dad to teach me!"

Cadence sighed and face hoofed. "We have got to get him immune to your cuteness."

Skyla giggled. "Please! I want to go to regular school PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE-"

"This is going to get annoying." She sighed.

"PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE-"

"Fine! I'll talk to dad about it!"

"YES! THANKS MOM!" the little princess jumped up and down and around the room until she was out of breath.

Cadence sighed "Calm down honey I said I'll talk to him I didn't say we were sure your completely going." She walked over her Skyla's bed as her daughter gave her a hug. Cadence picked her up and put her on her bed as Skyla snuggled into her cover her mom said. "Night sweetie." and kissed her forehead.

"Night mom love you!" With that she left. Breazle came in not even a minuet later.

"Skyla it would have been a lot easier if you would have stayed with me and your dad his wrath would have been less wrathful you would have bailed me out."

She giggled. "Sorry breazle I had a talk with mom she told me about why she keeps me in here all the time and I got her to talk to dad about letting me go to regular school."

"Wow well I wished you luck so I have to be part of it, Anyway night Skyla."

"Night breazle."

"Wow!" Skyla whispered as she got closer to the dark kingdom. "It looks so cool!" The closer she got the more she could hear a voice. 'don't do it' She heard the voice whisper. 'Turn back' it got louder but something was drawing her towards the castle. Soon she was at the line, the line that separates the two kingdoms. She stared at it for a while, the voice sounded like it was in her head but it wasn't it was all over the place. 'Don't do it' Skyla stepped over the line. 'Turn back now' Skyla kept walking changelings all saw her they all started closing in and fast Skyla turned to go back but there were changelings there too. She was full of panic, She got down to the ground, she put her head under her hoofs closed her eyes and waited for the changelings, but none of them came. She looked up, She saw a blue shield around her. she looked up just in time to see it explode and all the changelings within a mile away got thrown back, she looked up to see the cause of the protection. Luna slowly flew down and touched the earth below.

"Princess Luna!" Skyla shouted running over.

"Princess Skyla thou didn't listen to our warnings."

"S-sorry Princess Luna. But W-why were you here?" Skyla asked.

"Thou is in a dream. I are the princess of the night thus it is my duty to come into your dreams."

"Oh.. so you were the voice?"

"Yes thou should have listened. Come lets go."

As they walked they finally made it back to the kingdom. "But I don't get it why does the dream seem so real."

"Dreams do that. Now It's time to wake up."

"Wake up? but I don't want to wake up, Luna I want to talk some more there are still things that I know you know that I don't!"

Luna started walking back and as she got further she started to disappear.

"Luna! WAIT! I WANT TO TALK!" Skyla shouted running towards her.

"Wake up Skyla." Luna said once more with a smile before completely disappearing.

(Chapter 5) First day

Skyla slowly opened her eyes letting them adjust to Celestia's raising sun remembering the dream she jerked herself awake, "Luna?!" she screamed.

"Luna? Luna's in Canterlot," breazle said puzzled.

Skyla looked around she suddenly stopped to rethink what Luna had told her.

"Skyla its Monday time for school," breazle said getting down from her bed.

Skyla started brushing her mane while breazle got her saddle bag and started packing it with books and pencils and crayons. Skyla then started twisting her mane and it soon became the cute curls she always wears. "Y' know breazle?" she asked. "I think I might just do a different mane style I'm getting tired of this look. As Skyla finished she put her manebrush down and looked at breazle and he gave her the saddle bag.

"My saddle bag? I never need my saddle bag for school."

"You do for now on." shining armor said while walking through the door.

"Why?" Skyla asked half puzzled half excited to hear what they will say.

"Because like I said" cadence started saying coming in behind shining "me and your dad talked and we finally agreed to let you go to school with other fillies your age."

hearing this Skyla started jumping and yelling, "YES! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!" she paused for a minuet. "Wait dad? how did mom convince you to let me go to school?"

Cadence giggled and Shining made a pouty face. "Lets just say, You got your cute moves from your mom." He motioned to Cadence and she put on the face she did to convince Shining.

Skyla giggled then gave her mom a serious look. "Its good mom but.. I'm better."

Her mom raised an eyebrow. "How so?"

"I can make a face WITH A TEAR! HA" She bragged.

"You gotta admit she's got talent." Shining said, pointing to his daughter.

Cadence sighed. "Whatever."

"but Skyla your going to have to come back home right away after school no going anywhere else got it?" Shining said giving Skyla a 5 second serious look before another smile. "But I'm still serious." He repeated the same serious look but stopped when Cadence nudged him.

"yes dad, thank you so much!" she said while hugging them.

"Skyla time to eat breakfast and then flash will walk you to school."

"Why can't you guys come with me?" the little filly looked down with a frown.

"Because sweat heart me and daddy have some royal business to attend to." Cadence said holding Skyla's head up so their eyes meet. "but don't worry we will have time to play later," she added giving the pink alicorn a kiss on her forehead, then she turned and left with Shining Armor close behind.

"And by later she means in 200 years," Skyla mumbled to herself.

"Don't worry Skyla its what royals have to do, and guess who's next in line for the throne!" breazle said trying to cheer her up only to make her more upset.

"If I'll have that much work to do them count. me. out!" Skyla huffed.

"Its alright Skyla you can play with me,"

"Alright lets go." Skyla said with a smile while breazle jumped into her saddle bag.

Cadence then popped her head through the door, "Oh silly me I almost forgot, Breazle you cant go with you this time, they don't allow pets there,"

"WHAT?!" breazle said popping out his head from the top of the saddle bag.

They both looked at breazle in shock for his sudden outburst, "Uh its ok breazle I guess I'm better off by myself anyway," Skyla giggled nervously.

"ok fine but still they don't let me in because I'm not a pony that's just racist!" Breazle complained while climbing out of the saddle bag.

"Skyla you better hurry." Cadence warned, Skyla ran down the stairs and sat down devouring her pancakes.

"Bye mom, Bye dad!" and with that Skyla ran out to door getting a running take off, she opened and started flapping her wings as she noticed flash fly up by her.

"Why hello Princess." Flash said bowing his head slightly.

"Hi Flash." Skyla replied flapping her pink and purple wings so they were going the same rate flash's orange ones were.

"Where do you think your going?" he smiled slightly.

"Today is my first day of school and I cant wait, but I thought you already knew isn't that why your here, to take me to school?"

"Well yah I'm just messing with you, but you ran off without even looking at me your lucky I was there your almost as fast as rainbow dash!"

Skyla giggled, when she saw the school come into her field of vision she screamed.

"What?! what is it!?" Flash shouted converting to alert mode.

"School is right down there! I'm so excited I could just SCREAM!"

"I thought you already did." he said he rubbed his ear to is if it was in pain to show Skyla just how loud she was.

"Hehe.. oops sorry if i was that loud Flash." She landed in front of the school with flash not far behind.

Looking at all the fillies and colts walking into school the little princess no longer felt excited she was scared, she felt a weird tingle in her stomach.

"uh.. Flash? I'm nervous I've never been near other fillies before my tummy is hurting I think I'm going to puke.. I-I'm sick lets go back home I'm sure its not to late to get the tutor back to the castle," Skyla said quickly trying to get Flash to take her back.

"calm down Skyla you'll be fine you wanted this for a long time, now school Is about to begin, get in there and make some friends, remember to focus just as hard as you do for your private tutor." The orange guard said with a smile.

"A-Alright." Skyla said taking a deep breath.

"Good luck Skyla" with that he was off.

She watched the orange pony fly away, She looked around nervously as ponies walked towards class. 'alright.. all I have to do is walk though the doors and I will finally be at school with other fillies not so bad right?' Skyla thought, she took a deep breath and started walking, unfortunately she was to busy looking around at the other fillies and colts she didn't see the big rock in front of her. The filly tripped over the rock and fell in the dirt "Ach!" She yelled as she hit the ground. She opened her eyes and saw 2 pairs of hooves in front of her.

The first filly that spoke was a unicorn who had a Red mane, and a black coat, and she had green eyes, her cutie mark was a broken heart with fire lit on its side. For some reason she gave Skyla chills and her stomach started hurting. "Look, Water Lily there a new pony is class."

The one Skyla guessed was named Water Lily started laughing, she had a sky blue coat, with a multi colored mane containing the colors turquoise, and indigo. Her mane and tail were also made into ponytails, she also had purple eyes. Her cutie mark resembled a darker version of the crystal heart with a tentacle of water in it. "And she's a total klutz!" She said as the other filly started laughing with her.

Skyla looked around to see a crowd drawing. The poor filly was to scared to move. as more ponies grew near she tried to get up but she seemed to be frozen.

"What wrong? is the widdle fwily scared?" The filly that spoke first said in a baby voice. Water Lily just laughed.

Skyla was on the verge of tears, still trying to get up and away from the others. N-no.. I-I jus-"

"Don't tell me, is the widdle fiwwy donna crwy?" Water lily mocked.

Skyla put her head in her hooves hiding her face so they couldn't see. "Hey leave her alone!" Came a voice, it sounded feminine.

"Who said that?!" Water Lily shouted.

"Us." Came a male voice from behind Skyla, she looked up to see two ponies a filly and a colt. The filly had a light yellow coat with a freckles, and a rose colored mane with a little red bow right by her ear, she also had pretty blue eyes. she didn't have a cutie mark just like the colt next to her who had the same color coat as the first filly to pick on her, he had a light blue mane that covered most of his right eye and he had a dark blue marking in his mane and tail. "Dark heart stop! why are you picking on her?" he spoke.

"Ugh what do you want Blue Ivy?" She groaned

"I want you to stop picking on her." He said sternly. "But that still doesn't answer my question, why are you picking on her?"

"She tripped how could I ignore it!" Dark heart shouted back.

"You could always ask if she's ok." The filly pointed out.

"Do you even know us?" Water Lily spoke up.

"Just leave her alone she tripped on a rock, big deal! I've seen you walk into a wall! At least you could have seen that coming." He shot back.

At this the filly by his side started to giggle into her hoof. "I saw that too it was funny." She said between giggles.

Dark Heart's face got red in embarrassment. "W-well.. UGH! lets go Lily!" She shouted, with that they walked off into the school. as they left the crowd lost interest and started into the school house too. Once the two fillies left the tingling and her tummy ache stopped.

"Hey you ok?" Blue Ivy asked and he held out a hoof to help her up. Skyla accepted it and he pulled her to her hooves.

"Y-yea." He said shyly her voice still shaking.

"I'm Blue Ivy, This is Creamsicle." as her name was said Creamsicle smiled and waved. "Sorry about my sister and her friend. Their really mean. What's your name?"

"I-I'm Skyla."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Creamsicle cut in. "You mean Skyla as in PrincessSkyla?"

"Y-Yea that's me." She said as she moved her saddle bag to reveal wings.

"Oh! sorry Princess." Blue Ivy said as he and Creamsicle bowed.

"Uh.. Sorry for what? A-and please don't bow... It gets annoying after a while.

They both got up. Blue Ivy rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and Creamsicle only blushed in embarrassment as the both said "Sorry."

Skyla giggled "Its fine." They all gasped at the sound of the bell.

"Lets hurry!" With that they all ran inside. Blue Ivy and Creamsicle sat in their seats and watched as their new friend made their way to the teachers desk.

The teacher was taking attendance when she noticed Skyla looking up at her, a look of confusion crossed her face as she looked back at the paper "O-oh! Princess Skyla!" she gasped. "S-sorry, Class we have a new student in our class, Princess Skyla my name is Ms. Marine." the filly gave a nod of understanding. "You can take the seat between Blue Ivy and Creamsicle."

Skyla once again nodded and walked over to the empty seat. 'Hello luck' she thought as she made her way over to the seat. "Where were you when there was a rock?" She asked sternly as she sat down. She smiled as Blue Ivy and Creamsicle and they returned it with smiled of their own.

"Ok class." The teacher started. Skyla put her saddle bag by her desk. "Since we have a new student, I was thinking we could start with Specials today. As always, I'm a unicorn so I will be taking all the Unicorns and Thunder Lane will be taking all you Pegasus. Unfortunately for all earth ponies Cheese sandwich was only staying for a month so instead of Flugel horn Lessons you will get free recess." At that there were some cheers and some 'awww's'

Out of the blue there was a roar outside as if a jet just passed the school. Once the sound disappeared all the fillies and colts raised their hooves excitedly and the teacher looked around to choose somepony. "Skyla your the student of honor today how about you open the door."

"O-open the door? O-ok.." The student of honor got up and opened the door. Once it was opened in the speed of light a Pegasus flew in and picked her up. Caught off guard she screamed as they left the class room. Skyla stopped screaming and looked up and Thunder Lane looked down and smiled at her but then it became shock, and then happy again. As he zoomed back into the class room he dropped Skyla back into her seat, or the only empty seat, and landed by Ms. Marine. "That was so cool" Skyla whispered under her breath.

"What's up my little ponies." Thunder Lane shouted as he threw his hooves into the air. "Everypony started clapping and shouting out in excitement.

"Alright class settle down." Ms. Marine said. "Everypony with wings go with Mr. Lane, Everypony with a horn come with me also all earth ponies go with Mr. Lane too he will take you to recess and you can either play or watch the Pegasus. Everypony went to their groups except Skyla she didn't know where to go she had both. She decided maybe she could learn magic with Ms. Marine so she went to the unicorn group. "Alright Class Lets-" She stopped when she saw Skyla. Ms. Marine remembered something her parents told her about Skyla and her magic. "Skyla how about you join the Pegasus group." Ms. Marine suggested.

Skyla's smile turned around. "O-ok" She sighed. 'So much for magic' she thought. She saw Creamsicle and Blue Ivy smiling at her. The alicorn's smile returned as she trotted over to her new found friends. They talked as they went outside and into the back area where some of the earth fillies ran off the play.

"Alright class!" Thunder Lane shouted. "Earth ponies that are interested in watching sit on the bleachers. Creamsicle and a few other earth ponies left and sat of the bleachers "Pegasus! Take to the sky!" All the Pegasus fillies and colts flew up onto one huge cloud. "Alright since Princess Skyla is new to class today we will perform in front of her and we will practice our routine as usual and she can join in whenever she feel comfortable. Skyla nodded. "Positions!" Thunder lane shouted. They all got into a line, Skyla watched from the cloud eager to see what she would soon be doing.

"Alright step by step!" Mr. Thunder shouted. "Step one!" Everypony moved from in the line and back into a line going from horizontal to vertical. "Step two!" Each pony spit like a zipper unzipping and made 2 vertical lines. "Step three!" Around 5 ponies made a circle. "Step four!" 4 more ponies made a circle and got into the bigger circle. "Step 5!" Same happened but with 3 ponies. "Step 6!" the last 2 fillies held hooves with each other and got into the smallest circle. "Step 7!" each of them moved up a little accept for the first circle soon it looked like a giant cone made a fillies and colts. "Princess Skyla!" Mr. Thunder Lane called.

Skyla looked away from the other students and at her teacher. "Yes Mr. Lane?"

"This is where we can add you in go to the floor and shoot up through the hoops." He instructed. Skyla nodded, she flew to the ground and pushed off the floor. She flapped her wings as fast as she could. Everypony gasped at the amazing speed as she flew past them and through the last hoop of fillies. "Very good Skyla Thunder Lane said. Skyla smiled proudly. "that will be step 8 wait where you are." Skyla did as said and stayed in place. "Step 9!" Everypony spun out of their Hoops and back into 2 vertical lines. "Skyla fly over the imaginary crowd!"

Skyla looked around in confusion. "Where is the crowd?"

"Oops forgot to show you the crowd. Its the cloud you were sitting on." Skyla did as told and flew over the cloud and the 'fake crowd' then flew back to her place.

"Oh! oh! if I can could I try to do a sonic rainboom? I've done it with Flash before."

"Wait you could do the sonic rainboom? I thought only rainbow dahs could do it."

"Its hard but I think I can do it! it just takes practice I don't want to do it now but if I get it down could I do it in the performance?"

"S-sure! that would be amazing Skyla!"

"YAY!"

"Well if your planning on making a sonic rainboom then after flying over the crowd I want you to fly as high as you need for the rainboom. that will be step 10, you going up there and getting ready. he turned to the rest of the class. "Step 11 will be you guys moving your vertical lines down to make some sort of runway towards the crowd. They all did as told, "Step 12 will be Skyla doing to rainboom." Skyla flew down fast but not fast enough to make a rainboom. She stopped at where the rainboom would, right above the filly and colt made runway. She flew along the runway and back around the crowd, which would make a rainbow above them. "Skyla to the front of the runway. Run way move up when she does." Skyla flew over the to tip of the run way and like a draw bridge she pulled it up. "Brilliant! and the rest goes to the unicorns and the earth ponies!" Thunder Lane looked at the time. "Looks like times about up too awesome!" He beamed.

Everypony flew back to the ground to either get ready to go inside or meet with their friends. "Wait so your actually going to do a sonic rainboom?!" Creamsicle squealed.

"I hope so I've done it with flash before but.. the other times I tried to do it.. it doesn't really want to do it." Skyla sighed. "But I'm sure I could do it when the time comes.. also.. when will the time come?"

"The last day of school we put together a huge show for our parents!" Ivy joined in.

"Cool! I should I enough time!"

"I just hope we earth ponies could find a new Flugel teacher we're the music of the show and we only got a months practice."

"True I'm sure you'll find some kind of replacement." Skyla thought for a moment. "Hey! what about Pinkie Pie!"

"Pinkie who?"

"Pinkie Pie! she is my Aunt Twilights friend and the element of laughter! she played the Flugel horn for me a few years back on my Birth day."

"Yea but doesn't the elements live in ponyville."

"Ugh why does it have to be so far.. well she's the best Flugel player I've ever see!"

"Class time to line up!" Ms. Marine's voice came from the door of the school house. Everypony lined up in front of her as she led them inside. The next subject was math Skyla raised her hoof for almost all of them because her private tutor had already taught her this lesson and how to do it to get the answer. After a few more lessons It was time to go home.

"Ok Class time to go home and good luck with your homework for tonight!" Ms. Marine shouted as the school bell rang and the fillies and colts started left.

Skyla, Creamsicle, and Blue Ivy all walked along by the school and stopped when they encountered Dark Heart. Skyla started to get shivers again and her stomach, like last time, started to hurt. Her ears drooped and she slightly stepped back.

"Relax." She growled. "Water Lily isn't here to have to fun of picking on you so I'm not going to take all the fun for myself." She looked away from the cowering Skyla and over to Blue Ivy. "I'm just here for my brother."

"Bye Skyla, Creamsicle, I'll see you tomorrow." He waved goodbye and left. As they left Skyla's shiver and stomach ache once again stopped.

"I don't know why you hang out with those losers." Dark heart teased.

"Their not losers and stay away from them." He snapped back.

"Ok I know your nicerthan the rest of us but C'mon you don't have to protect them! and what was that you embarrassed my in front of class thanks a lot for almost ruining my reputation! your lucky I'm popular enough to get ponies to forget about it."

"You deserve to get embarrassed after what you were doing to Skyla."

"Ha! she had it coming she should watch where she's going."

"You should watch what your saying!"

"Whatever lets just go tell mom and dad that they finally let her out. Geez she spent her whole life in that castle."

"I'm not going to say anything. Mom and dad should learn that revenge gets you nothing."

"Oh its going to get me something. Watch your back." She growled.

"Oh trust me, I will." he sighed, as they looked around to make sure nopony followed them they went behind and rock and passed the line to the dark kingdom.

Skyla and Creamsicle kept on talking to each other as they walked farther away from the school Skyla noticed this and stopped.

"What wrong?" Creamsicle asked.

"I cant get to far from the school Flash is supposed to pick me up." as if on queue Flash landed right behind Skyla.

Skyla turned around. "Lets go talk on the-"

"BOO!"

"AAH!" Skyla screamed and she jumped away from the thing that scared her.

"I-I'm S-sorry Princess I-I had too!" Flash Sentry said between laughs.

"Flash! don't sneak up on me and scare me how many times do I have to say it!"

"Princess." He bowed and looked up at her. "You can say it as many times as you want but as long as your parents say I can do it. I'm taking every chance I got." He said getting up and then bursting into laughter again.

Skyla huffed as Creamsicle tried to hold in a laugh of her own. "Bye Skyla I have to go, good luck with.. Him." She said gesturing to flash.

"Thanks I'll need it." Skyla sighed. "Bye."

"Did you make a new friend already?" Flash asked.

"Yea and you totally scared me in front of her!" She yelled back.

with a few more chuckles from flash they took to the skies.

"I also made another friend his name Blue Ivy!"

"How did you meet them?" Flash asked.

"I-I uhh.." Skyla thought for a moment 'if I tell him about Water Lily and Dark Heart, he might tell mom and dad and they'll change their minds about me going.. but if they just tell me to ignore them.. No knowing he dad He'll pull me out.. then again he doesn't stand a chance against me.. but who knows who's side mom will take UGH! I'm not taking any chances.' "I-I tripped on a rock and they came over to make sure I was ok." 'Alright lying but telling the truth I think my answer was good enough.' Skyla thought.

"You tripped on a rock are you alright?!" Flash asked as he grabbed Skyla from the air and checked for wounds.

"F-Flash?! what are you doing I'm fine!" She said pushing him away.

"Alright just making sure, your dad would kill me, ok that's a little over dramatic, the worst he can do is making me do extra obstacles and maybe if its enough fire me but I don't want that to happen so..."

"Well I'm fine."

"Nothing scratched?"

"No."

"Nothing bruised?"

"No!"

"Your totally fine?"

"Oh look your home your don't have to worry anymore." Flash rolled his eyes as Skyla sped towards the castle.

"Flash opened the door and lead Skyla in.

"Where is mom and dad?" She asked as they entered the castle.

"They are on an important trip." He saw the disappointment on her face and immediately felt bad for the little Princess. "D-don't worry they'll be back before tomorrow."

"Alright" She sighed.

"SKYLA!" a familiar voice rang through the hallway.

The filly turned and immediately got a face full of Weasel. "Ok, ok I missed you too breazle." Skyla said pealing him off her face.

"Sooo.. how was it?"

"It was super fun I made two friends and their really nice! One is named Creamsicle, and the other is Blue Ivy." She explained.

"Cool! anything fun at school?"

"Yea we were working on a flight routine! and I told them how when I was playing with flash one day I accidentally did a sonic rainboom and Mr. Lane said if I practice I could use it in the routine! I'm so excited."

"Good for you Skyla! but isn't the sonic rainboom dangerous when you did it with me you couldn't stop afterwards and almost ran into the castle wall."

"Well that's because it was in the backyard there isn't much space I also wasn't planning on doing it so I wasn't able to aim, this time it will be different!"

"Cool! You should practice now Skyla I could ride on your back!" Breazle said hopping on and grabbing her mane.

"Not now I made her an afternoon snack, also she needs to do homework."

"YAY!"

"AWWW!"

"Wow breazle your so full of energy today did you really miss me that much?"

"You would not believe!"

"Oh I Believe."

they all shared a laugh.

"Alright Skyla I made your favorite cookies are in the kitchen!"

"YAY!"

(Chapter 6) INCOMING!

"INCOMING!" Skyla screamed as she tried to stop.

"Skyla! slow down!" Flash yelled trying to catch her.

"I-I'm trying!!" Skyla yelled back. Tears started forming in her eyes to keep them moist against the hot wind. Skyla closed her eyes to give them a break from burning.

"SKYLA WATCH OUT!" Flash blurted.

The filly opened her eyes and saw a wall. she quickly pulled up avoiding it. Luckily it was enough to slow her down. She felt a tug on her tail and looked back to see Flash pulling her the opposite way she was going.

"Sop fwapping." He said with a mouth full of tail.

Skyla slowly stopped flapping soon she was dangling from her tail. "My wings hurt!" Skyla complained as Flash flew her down to the ground.

Flash spat out the tail. "You've been practicing to much. I wouldn't be surprised if your wings fell off by the end of the day."

"I just cant get to the breaking point!"

"How about you take it easy for the rest of the day."

"Yea fifteen minuets sounds good." Skyla said walking back to the castle.

"Wait I said the rest of the day." He yelled after her.

"I said fifteen minuets!" She yelled back.

Flash, noticing how far away from the castle they were sped up picked up Skyla and threw her on his back while taking off.

"Skyla I recommend I come with you." The orange guard argued.

"And I want to do this by myself." Skyla sighed. "I know I can do it maybe its because somepony's watching me."

"Alright, fine but if you don't come back in an hour I'm leaving to look for you. I'll be watching breazle to make sure he doesn't freak out if he doesn't see you after his nap."

"Deal!"

Skyla left the castle and went out, she walked by the school beyond the crystal school was many crystal trees making a small forest. 'Flash never said I couldn't go to the forest.' Skyla thought a grin spread across her face but then faded as she sighed. 'But mom and dad said no'The smile crept back onto her face. "But mom and dad aren't here!" With that answer she trotted into the forest.

The filly walked through the forest looking every which way taking on the beautiful scenery. Usually the only thing that lived there were crystal bunnies or little critters. Every once in a while a bunny or bird sometimes even a chipmunk would walk up to her just to see what she was doing after a while of just looking around and getting used to the forest she took to the skies. The princess went as far as she could go.

"Alright nopony around. A place to focus." Skyla went up until even the Castle looked like a tiny little speck. "READY OR NOT HERE I COME!" She yelled and dived down flapping her wings as hard as she could and in no time she was like a speeding bullet she closed her eyes as tears started forming. she barley opened her eyes and saw a colors starting to form around her, she put on the little more speed she had left. Sparks started sparking around her. She felt she was so close but then her wings started giving up. She tried flapping harder then she felt something in her wing tighten. Losing her concentration and focusing on her wing she felt herself being pushed. She looked forward about to keep going but it was too late. Skyla got flung across the sky, she closed her eyes hoping something would break her fall. Luckily she fell on a tarp from a store she bounced off and hit the ground.

"S-Skyla?!" a familiar voice echoed in her mind. "Skyla! Are you ok?" The more she listened the more it sounded not in her head but right next to her. "Skyla wake up!"

Skyla moaned "Oh my head.."

"Oh thank goodness." The voice sighed in relief.

Skyla opened her eyes, her vision blurry at first the started to clear, the clearer it got the more she could see a worried colt standing in front of her. Remembering what had happened she quickly got up. Once she was on her hooves a wave a dizziness knocked her back down.

"Careful you fell pretty hard." He warned.

He slowly helped Skyla up. "Thanks." she said.

"No problem I saw you falling from the sky and went to see if you were ok."

"Yea I'm fine." Skyla went to pull her wings in but instead was met with pins shooting up her right one. She hissed at the pain after trying a few times she gave up and left it out.

"Is your wing ok?" Ivy asked.

"I don't know it hurts really bad, lets go see if flash can figure it out." With that they headed off.

Skyla and Blue Ivy walked through the doors of the castle and saw flash packing his saddle bag.

Flash turned around and smiled. "Skyla, that was about fifty five minuets I was about to head out to find you- Uhh.. who's this?."

"Flash Sentry this is Blue Ivy my friend, Blue Ivy this is one of the royal guards and also one of my friends."

"Nice to meet you, Flash Sentry."

"Please call me Flash, Nice to meet you too."

Once that was out of the way Skyla looked back up at flash. "I hurt my wing trying to do the sonic rainboom I was SO CLOSE! I would have made it but I just had to flap ONE more time!" She said in a huff.

"Let me see." Flash walked over and examined her wing. "I seems you strained it. I don't think I want you flying for a all of today and tomorrow."

"What?! then how am I going to practice?"

"You won't."

"But-"

"Skyla." He said sternly. "You hurt your wing and its not going to get better anytime soon if you keep using it. Flash pushed slowly on her wing as she held her breath to keep from yelling out in pain. He slowly closed her wing so it wouldn't be out the whole time. "Its bad enough your dads going to be mad at me for letting you hurt your self not to mention almost breaking your wing."

Skyla sighed. "Sorry Flash."

"You didn't know it was going to happen just please don't argue with me I don't like yelling at you."

"Ok."

"Well I guess it a good thing that yesterday was Friday huh?" Ivy added.

"Yea I guess." Skyla looked at her wing. "What if I accidently open it and hurt it more?"

"Here." Flash ran through the hall way into the bathroom and came out with some gnaws. He wrapped it around Skyla's wings to tie it to her body. "There it might hurt a little if you try to open it but at least it won't open all the way and strain it more."

"Alright. Thanks."

"Hey Blue Ivy, If you don't have anything to do you wanna go play?"

"Sure!" They then both looked at Flash.

"Please flash?"

"I don't know.."

"Please! don't make me use the face."

Flash chuckled. "Ok! Ok! please just don't use the.. the face!" He said putting his hoof to his forehead.

Skyla and Blue Ivy laughed. "Thank you next time I wont give you a warning."

As the two ponies left flash smirked "Brat."

"So.. what's the face?" Blue Ivy asked.

"You don't say it like that, you say it like this.. The Face!"

"Alright what's.. The Face!?"

"This is The Face!" Skyla said as she made her cutest face."

"Awww its sooo cute!"

"I know the only one who can resist it is my mom." Skyla said rolling her eyes. "And it turns out she can do it too!"

"Wow sounds crazy."

"So.. what do you wan to do?"

"Well I was just thinking about flying but... How close did you get to the sonic rainboom anyway."

"I got to the point where there was electricity sparking around me and a rainbow was starting to form at my sides."

"Wow I'm surprised you didn't do it."

"I know I would have I didn't even have a little more to go, I just don't know how I strained my wing!"

"Yea.. what do you think your parents will say when they see you like this?"

"They'll probably freak out asking me all these questions about what I did and most importantly, why."

"That does but doesn't seem like your parents..."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean as leaders they are protective of the ponies who live here and they care but during bad situations they are always so clam."

"Psh yea that's what they make the ponies here think so they know that their good leaders." Skyla said rolling her eyes. As they walked she realized they were going nowhere.

"Hey you wanna go to the park?"

"Sure. Want to race?"

"Yea I bet you cant beat me, I always win in a race between the royal guards even flash!"

"Alright! Ready."

"Set!"

"GO!" they both shouted and with that they were off.

"I-I call a rematch!" Skyla called as Blue Ivy climbed a latter to get onto the play set.

"Hey I won." He shrugged.

"Well that means either.. YOU CHEATED AND USED YOUR WINGS! or.. I need to talk to my dad about making the guards do stuff to make me feel good.. again.."

"Ok one, I did not cheat I don't cheat in front of girls, cheat in front of a Princess!? forget it! and two, are you saying your dad is making the guards slow but look fast just to let you win?"

"Its not the first time he's done it." She sighed as she climbed the latter after Ivy got onto the structure. "Probably the only one that doesn't let me win is Breazle."

"Who's Breazle again?"

"He's my pet/Best friend."

"Best friend?"

"He was the only one besides flash to play with me at the castle."

"Oh I'm sorry?" He waited for Skyla to get across the bride until he moved on.

"Eh, Its over now." She said with a smile. They made their way to the obstacle course. "Race you across this thing!"

"Challenge accepted!"

As they sped through the obstacles, Skyla made it past the rope with Blue Ivy close behind on the other one. Skyla was just about to move onto jumping over little fences until her stomach started aching, and she started getting shivers.

"Hey you ok? you look cold." Blue Ivy gave her a puzzled look as felt the warm air.

"I'm fine just a tummy ache."

"Oh ok you want to go home? or are you hungry we can go get something to eat if you want."

"Nah." She said and started jumping over the fences. As she got more towards the end the tingling became harsher.

Blue Ivy remembered when his mom told him and his sister about Skyla having a sense when evil changelings around, worried he looked around sure enough he saw to other ponies waiting at the end of the obstacle course. Blue Ivy recognized them and quickened his pace to reach the filly.

"Hey Skyla!" He shouted as he reached her. "I know your not, but I'm feeling a little hungry how about we go to the café I can get you a drink on me."

"Oh alright but maybe I can chip in a few bits."

"Nope on me, all on me now lets go!" He grabbed he hoof and pulled her towards the café.

"Uhh.. Blue Ivy.. why are we in such a hurry and we passed the café like.. 3 times." Skyla yelled over to the colt pulling her.

Blue Ivy looked back to see a puzzled Princess and another pony far behind them, and looked up to see one circling them. "Uhh.. Because I need the exercise and I would think you would too considering you've been in the castle a whole six years.

"W-well I'm getting tired." She responded starting to pant.

"Alright lets go over here." He pulled her into the café, I have to use the bathroom so I'll be right back I suggest you use it too y'know just in case."

"A-alright.. But your really nervous you ok?"

"Yea I'm fine I just have to be right back." With that he disappeared into the stallions bathroom. Skyla shrugged and went into the mares room.

Skyla came out of the bathroom to see Blue Ivy talking to a stallion at a table. "Hey Skyla meet my dad!" Blue Ivy said as he motioned her to come sit with them."

"Hi Mr. Uhh.. What should I call you?"

He smiled gently and spoke. "You can call me Mr. Blue you must be Princess Skyla, Blue Ivy told me all about yo-"

"Hey Skyla what would you like to drink?" Ivy cut him off.

"Vanilla smoothie please." Skyla said politely as she sat down.

"Alright what about you dad?"

"I'll take tea."

"Ok now we just need to wait until the waiters get here." as if on queue the waiter came up.

"Welcome to the café how may I help you?" He said and quickly bowed as he saw Princess Skyla.

She gave an uncomfortable look as Blue Ivy started to order. "A vanilla milkshake, Tea, a muffin, and some milk please."

"Why of course." He said he scribbled it down and left to get the food. When he came back he served the food and left, they talked and talked.

"I should probably head home." Skyla sighed.

"Aww why?"

"Flash is probably worried sick I wouldn't be surprised if he's out there right now looking for me."

"Oh alright." Skyla got up from the table and started to head out. Ivy, and Mr. Blue gave each other uneasy looks. "Hey Skyla maybe we could walk you home!" Ivy shouted to her catching her just as she opened the door.

"Umm.. sure if you want, I don't mind." Blue Ivy followed by Mr. Blue walked out with Skyla making sure she got home safely. Once she was dropped off and was with flash they headed off.

"Thanks for coming Blue Ivory."

"No problem little dude, You know I'll always be there for you. I think its sweet your trying to protect her."

"Well she is a friend. And you know I don't like mom and dads little schemes of revenge and stuff like that. I just hope she'll be ok."

"Your a good colt Ivy I think she'll be just fine with you around." The little colt smiled.

"Thanks. I hope she will."

(Chapter 7) It has Begun

"You attempted what?!" Shining blurted as he healed up his daughters wing with magic.

"A sonic rainboom."

"Honey don't you know how dangerous that is?" Cadence said.

"N-no because I've done it before."

"When?"

"When you and mom were on another royal business trip me and flash were playing out back and I did it."

Cadence turned towards her husband. "So that's what the unscheduled rainbow was."

"Was flash with you when this happened?"

Flash gave nervous glances around the room. "Yes he was!" Skyla almost shouted, giving a big smile.

"I-I was?" Skyla glared at him. "Y-yep I was!"

"Alright but Skyla that was risky I don't want you doing that when nopony is there got it? I mean you could have gotten hurt worse and couldn't get up to get help and then you would be stuck there with nothing to do and nopony could come help because they don't know-"

"Dad! I 'm fine nothing else happened."

"A-alright... So how close did you get to doing it?"

Skyla's frown turned into a smile and her eyes lit up with glee. "I was so close! I nearly made it and I would have if I hadn't made that little mistake. But still! I saw the rainbow start to form and little sparks of lightning sparked around me!"

"Lightning?!"

"Honey relax its not going to hurt her its just energy building up." Cadence assured him.

"Alright well I'm very proud of you sweetie, but I still want you to be more careful got it?" he said just as the spell finished and her wing was as good as new.

Skyla rolled her eyes. "Yes daddy." Skyla opened her wing and gave it a test flap, it felt as if the injury had never been there. "Mom, Dad you should teach me how to do this spell."

"No." They said in unison.

"Oh C'mon! please! why don't you teach me magic."

"Because your not old enough." Cadence responded.

"At the school there are fillies that know WAY more spells than me!" The princess turned from her mom to her dad and gave a smirk. She put on a pouty face and made big eyes. "And if I don't know the right spells and nopony is there to help me what will I do then!? I'll be stranded stuck! and nopony will come help because they don't know what happened! or where I am!"

"C-Cadence maybe she is old enough!" Before Princess Cadence gave her answer Shining was already walking Skyla towards the doors. "Maybe we can start with the healing spell incase you are injured and you cant move."

"Now wait just a second!" Cadence yelled out at them, noticing they didn't hear her, she levitated her daughter back over to her, her husband chasing close behind.

"But Mooooom!"

"No buts!" Cadence thought for a second. "Shining sweetie maybe you should get unpacked I'll meet you there." Shining nodded and walked off. "Ok Skyla maybe I'll teach you."

Skyla's eyes lit up like the sun and started jumping around as soon as she was out of her mothers magical grasp. "YES! YES! YES! THANK YOU MOM!"

'oh my gosh she looks just like twilight when she was a filly... its almost scary!' she thought then smirked. And left not before saying, "Next year!" with that she left to unpack. just before she disappeared out of earshot she heard a disapproving groan from the once jumping filly. She giggled.

"Skyla its not the end of the world at least you can fly again." Flash said stepping away from the wall he was watching from.

"Yea sure." Skyla mumbled as she headed off further into the castle.

"Hey were you going?" The royal guard called after her.

"To my room, I have something to do." She mumbled barley audible for the confused pony to hear.

"What just happened?"

Skyla slammed the door shut waking the once sleeping breazle. She groaned as she flopped onto her bed.

"What is it now?" Breazle mumbled wiping the sleep from his eyes. Skyla didn't answer she just laid here with her face digging into her pillow. He heard a harsh mumble that was muffled by the pillow. "I cant hear you." This time it was louder but still not clear. "Skyla your pillow is preventing me from hearing you!" He yelled as he jumped onto her bed.

"I wanf to wern magiph" Skyla said practically yelling in the pillow.

"Skyla!" Breazle got stern. "I know what this leads to I ask one final time you actually listen and start throwing a fit." He sighed. "But your not going to do that because your a big pony, right?"

Skyla lifted her head, looked at breazle, and dropped it back down. "I donwanna be bwig pophy."

Breazle slightly laughed and shook his head. "SKYLA ATTENTION!"

Skyla rolled over so she was no longer in the pillow. "Ugh not this!" The sound of her closet door opening made her get up. "Ok! Ok! I'm sorry! what do you want to know?"

"I want to know why you are upset. I'm here to help you!"

Skyla lifted the pillow and put it on her face. "I wanf two wern magiph!" She heard one of her drawers open then another one. "OK! OK! FINE!" she said putting the pillow down.

"Tell me!" She was about to pull the pillow up again. "WITHOUT THE PILLOW!" She groaned.

"I want to learn magic but NO mom and dad don't think I'm old enough but the other foals know WAY more magic than I do!"

"Why does this bug you?"

"DO YOU KNOW ME?!" Breazle typed in a number and a slot opened revealing a cookie jar. "UGH! ok, ok." She sighed. "You know that I want to try magic and hearing from aunt twilights letters she LOVES magic and I heard that magic is better than wings because it can do much more, you can even fly with magic!"

"Skyla you and me both know that's the levitation spell, you and I ALSO know you already know that spell."

"So! I can fly already! and I told you not to mention it, what if mom and dad were at the door!"

"Alright I'm sorry. So now that I know what's going on." He quickly opened the jar and swiped a cookie from inside and stuffed half of it in his mouth.

"HEY! I YOU SAID YOU KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON!" Skyla whined.

"Hey you woke me up!"

"Ugh fine." She huffed. "Breazle? would you do ANYTHING for me?"

"Depends on what it is."

"Going to the library and getting me a book on magic because you love me so much!"

"Y'know Skyla? I don't know because me and the librarian we aren't really on the same page right now.. She kind of banned me for a month because we had a big argument on how many books I can take home, and how long I can keep them for."

"You can use me card."

"I mean REALLY banned for a month I cant even step in there without her reminding me." Breazle really hated lying to her but he does what needs to be done.

"Oh.. ok." Skyla got up and started packing stuff as if going to a sleepover.

"Where are you going?"

"Ponyville."

"What!? Why!?"

"Aunt Twilight is there surly she could help me learn magic. I mean why wouldn't she, she is the element of magic." She put a pillow and blanket in the saddle bag making it big.

"I don't think you should go Skyla."

"Oh C'mon breazle PLEASE?! I want to learn magic! I'm probably the ONLY filly here that doesn't know magic!"

"If you go I'm going to tell your parents."

"Ugh! fine." Skyla put her saddle bag full of stuff away and once she went back to her bed the door slowly opened.

"Knockidy Knockidy."

"Hey flash." Skyla grumbled.

"Hey cheer up or do I have to force you to be happy?" He held up his hooves as if to attack her.

"Nope not going to work." That was it Skyla burst out laughing when flash started tickling her. "FLASH!! HAHA!! S-STOP! HEHEHE! I'M G-GONNA-"

"gonna what? tell on me?"

"HAHAHA Y-YEA!"

"Nope you cant tell on me I'll just tickle you more."

"F-FINE HAHA! I GIVE! I GIVE!" Flash stopped tickling and watched as his opponent gasped for breath.

"Good because somepony came to see you."

"What? Who?"

Skyla opened the door to reveal. Blue Ivy and Creamsicle. "Hey guys!"

"Skyla? what happened? you looked like you just got out of bed." Creamsicle asked. Skyla followed her gaze and found the target was her mane.

"O-oh I just umm.. come on in."

"Ok." they both said in unison. They walked in and Skyla brought them up to her room where she immediately went to the mirror to fix her mane.

"So what brings you guys here?"

"Blue Ivy said you hurt your wing trying to do a sonic rainboom so I thought we could come check on you." The colt nodded and looked at her wing.

"Oh is it better now?" He asked.

"Y-yea my mom and dad are home now and my dad fixed it with a healing spell."

"Why couldn't you do that?" The filly asked.

"Because I don't know how to do magic.." Skyla finished fixing her mane and went to join the others.

"O-oh I'm sorry Skyla I just figured.."

"I know its alright mom and dad just don't care to teach me they say I'm not 'old enough'."

"Oh sorry Sky."

"What did you call me?"

"Uhh.. sorry am I allowed to call you Sky? its uh.. short for Skyla." The princess smiled and nodded. "Phew ok hehe.."

"Hey uh guys? were friends right? We can keep each others secrets?" they nodded. "Ok could you help me get class work for maybe the next week?"

"Uh why?" Blue Ivy asked.

"Because I'm going to be in ponyville."

"Ponyville? that sounds like FUN!" Creamsicle exclaimed. "But why cant your parents do it?"

"Because they don't know I'm going.."

"WHAT?!" They blurted out in unison.

"Yes I'm going to go see my Aunt Twilight in ponyville." Skyla said, she grabbed her saddle bag which she had thrown behind her door. "I've got all the things I need. Stuff to entertain myself, Stuff for sleep, and extra stuff like little snack stuff incase I get snacky."

"I don't know Skyla it sounds dangerous going alone." Blue Ivy gave her an almost pleading look.

"Yea not only does it sounds dangerous but it also sounds fun! and you could use help if something goes wrong. You know what now that I think of it how about I go with you!" Creamsicle said. It was obvious to all of them she wanted to go more than anything.

"We." Ivy added in. "She means we should come. That's not a problem is it?"

"N-no I guess not... it would sound fun to bond with friends on a trip." She sounded unsure but the more she thought of it the more fun it sounded to go with friends than go alone. "Y-yea you guys can come with! Plus I think Aunt Twilight would be really happy to see that I made new friends!"

"Isn't she like... the Princess of friendship?" Creamsicle questioned.

"Yea that's why she would be super happy!"

"Alright lets talk info. we all know our parents wont let us go.. when are we leaving and what's the excuse?" They all leaned in a talked looking like a football team ready to play.

"Blue Ivy and me will say that were at Creamsicle's house and Cremasicle, you can say that you went to Blue Ivy's. Deal?"

"Yep."

"Sounds like a plan."

"Alright meet me here 10 till midnight. but don't come to the castle, be ready and meet me at the station." The all nodded but jumped as a knock came from the door.

"Skyla sweetie?" Cadence peeked her head into the room. "Time for dinner tell your friends they have to go home."

"Alright mom." Skyla nodded and they left. "Mom?"

"Yea?"

"Could I stay the night at Creamsicle's? Please!"

"I don't know honey she seams nice and all but-"

"PLEASE!!! I don't want to have my first sleepover when I'm a grown mare!"

"But that's what your Aunt Twi-"

"And she had to read a book to know what to do!"

Cadence let out a long heavy sigh. "Fine."

"Can it be a week long?"

"What?! a week long?!" The Princess gasped at how long her daughter wanted to stay.

"Please mom it will be very bonding for me and my friends.

"Fine!"

"YES! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!"

"Alright lets go have dinner. Then we'll tell your dad. Then I'll try to calm him done after you leave."

"Yes! thanks mom!"

(Chapter 8) A new adventure

Skyla paced back and forth waiting for her friends to arrive; She wore a little cloak to cover herself so nopony would recognize her, her little hooves clapping against the wood floor of the train station. She looked up at the clock hanging from the wall. 'Where are they?' she wondered, and to make matters worse, she heard a loud whistle of the train coming into view. She sighed as the train came to a stop and the door opened revealing the conductor.

"All aboard!" he called to all the ponies. They all started shuffling into the train. Skyla waited in the line for the train thinking what would happen if her friends didn't show up, what would happen when she found Aunt Twilight, What would be her story when she gets suspi-. She was ripped out her thoughts as she was tackled to the ground.

She landed with a loud "oof." When she opened her eyes she was met with a pink bubblegum color. "C-Can't B-Breath!" she gasped out as the owner of the pink blur squeezed her like their life depended on it. The grip loosened a bit but didn't let go. When she finally pulled the clinging pony off, saw a super excited Creamsicle and right next to her Blue Ivy was laughing quietly at them.

"HiSkylaI'msuperexcitedtogotoponyvilleijustcouldn'twaitandBlueIvywastakingFOREVERbutnowwerehereandabouttogetonthetrainandooooooI'msoexcited!!!!" Creamsicle practically shouted. At the end of her sentence she gasped for air and gave a big squee.

"Ssshhh! don't say my name too loud!" Skyla shushed them.

"Why not?" Blue Ivy questioned. He had stopped laughing and already had his hoof out to help Skyla up.

She gladly took the offer and was pulled back into her hooves. "Because." she explained. "Everypony knows that I'm the daughter of the rulers here which makes me a Princess and Everypony knows that the only princess who has been out of the castle is my mom." She finished.

Blue Ivy nodded his head in understanding way but Creamsicle just looked at her in confusion. Skyla sighed. "Everypony knows I'm supposed to be in the castle and even if I was out I would be escorted by a royal guard."

"OOOHHH! Well you should have just said that!"

Skyla face hoofed. “Last calling for the train to ponyville!” She heard a familiar shout. Skyla pulled her hood back on, which was knocked off when Creamsicle tackled her. The three friends walked passed the conductor and into the train. When they were seated Skyla gave the others their train tickets. The train started moving and the conductor started going around checking for tickets. When he came to their booth, they handed him their ticket and he punched their tickets, he punched them and was about to move on when a black hoof stopped him.

“Could we have a private car?” Blue Ivy asked.

“You could if you had the bits to pay for it.” The conductor replied.

“How much?”

“100 bits.”

Two out of three mouthed dropped in disbelief. “100 bits for a private car? That’s crazy!” Creamsicle shouted.

“Sorry but usually famous, and rich people ask for them, also we are limited on cars so not everypony could ride their own.” He explained.

Blue Ivy just reached into his saddlebag and pulled and pulled out a medium sized pouch. “Will this do?” He handed the bag over to the conductor who nodded for a ‘hold on’ and walked off to the front of the train.

“Wait so why do we need a private booth?” Skyla asked.

“And how do you have 100 bits?!” Creamsicle added, still in disbelief with almost everything that had just happened.

“I just think that it would be safer and there will be less of a chance you will be seen, plus you won’t have to wear that cloak.” He said gesturing to his friend. “And to answer your question Creamsicle, I save up my money a lot and use them whenever I feel it is needed.”

Skyla started looking through her saddle bag and pulled out a pouch of her own, it was gold with swirls of pink and purple around it. “Here take some bits so I don’t feel that I owe you.” She said taking out about thirty bits.

Blue Ivy waved it off. “Nope I’m good you don’t owe me anything, keep the bits.”

Skyla just gave him a nasty face. “Nope take them.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Yes! Take the bits! The Princess commands it!”

He just laughed and sighed. “Fine but I owe you now.”

“Alright that’s fine with me.”

He laughed and the conductor came back the colts pouch that was once in his hoof was gone and replaced with a key. “Your car is car is number seven, good luck.” He handed the key to Blue Ivy and walked off.

They made it there with no difficulties, when they unlocked and opened the door they saw a few tables with comfortable seats two bunk beds with curtains with a little counter, resting on the counter was a toaster and by the counter was a mini fridge.

“Hey this is nicer than I thought it would be.” Creamsicle commented.

“What did you think would be here?” Skyla asked as she walked in and took a seat at the given table.

“Just a table and a bed.” She said joining her friend, soon after Blue Ivy followed behind her, the soft carpet underneath their hooves made them able to relax and enjoy the long ride.

“I think we should grab a snack and head off the bed.” The little colt commented after observing the outside. “It’s getting dark.”

Skyla sighed and got up from her seat. She walked over the fridge and opened it, shivers ran down her spine as the cold frosty air hit her face as she peered inside, she perked right up when she saw a certain drink. “Hey guys! They have some ponybucks!” She said taking out some coffee.

“I don’t think that’s a great idea Skyla... is there anything else in there?” Blue Ivy questioned as he took walked over to the fridge and peeked inside.

“They have some milk but I want this! Mommy and Daddy never lets me have a whole bottle only little sips every once in a while!” She took a drink and flavor filled her taste buds. “Mmmm! That’s good!” She took two more bottled and went to sit down.

Skyla kindly offered to give a bottle to Creamsicle but she politely waved it off. “As much as I’d love to Skyla, I’d really prefer milk.” Blue Ivy was already headed back to his seat when he heard. He sighed and turned around to get another bottle, Creamsicle just giggled. “Besides we know what that’s stuff does to ponies and we have a long day ahead of us.”

“What does it do to you?”

Creamsicle took the bottle of milk that was handed to her and took a quick sip before answering. “It makes you super hyper and it’ll keep you up all night.”

“Is that why mom and dad only drink it in the morning?” She asked.

“Yep.”

Skyla quickly finished off the rest of her bottle and grabbed the other two. “You already finished a bottle?!” Blue Ivy asked in amazement. Skyla just nodded and walked away to put the other bottles back, she didn’t want to be up all night. The last time she did that she ended up sleeping the whole day after.

“Its really good but I’ll save it for tomorrow.”

For a few more minutes they just talked on and on about what they would do when they get there and Skyla talked about what her Aunts friends were like and where she has written to her until it was time to go to bed. They all climbed into their own bed but before Blue Ivy checked to make sure the door was locked and put the key on the counter. “Night guys.” He said.

“Night!” the girls responded and went to sleep or at least two of them did.

Skyla tossed and turned in bed, she wasn’t asleep though, and she was almost wide awake and had a terrible headache. Sadly that one bottle of ponybucks was enough to keep her awake for a while and the magical buildup wasn’t helping much. She pulled the covers off her face and groaned. “Creamsicle? Blue Ivy? Any of you two awake?” She whispered loudly. Hearing no response she sighed. ‘Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to take a little walk’ she thought to herself.

Looking around the room, she spotted her target: The key to the door. “She pulled the red covers off her body and made her way over to the counter. There was no need to be too quiet while she was walking, for the carpet muffled the sound of her hooves against it. She quickly grabbed the key in her mouth when she finally reached it and headed for the door.

She froze in her tracks when she heard one of her companions mumble something. She turned and was about to make up and excuse like she had to go to the bathroom, until she realized that the one who mumbled was still asleep. Creamsicle had turned around to where she was facing Skyla, the princess used her magic to slowly and quietly close the curtain and continued her journey to the door.

When she did make it to the door she slid the key in and it unlocked with a soft click. Using her magic she opened the door and walked through. Using more of her magic to take the key from her mouth, she decided to use levitate it just to get the build up to build down. As she walked through the train, she saw ponies either sleeping by themselves, with others, or just staying up reading a book or two. But one certain family caught her eye. She looked over to see a filly wrapped in the arms of her mother and father, the filly had a sweet smile on her face indicating the nice dream she was having. Her mother and father, despite them sleeping themselves, nuzzled her or each other every once in a while. Skyla stared at them for a while thinking about her parents. Why they didn’t take time out of their day like that for her.

After a while of staring at the sleeping family she closed her eyes and continued on. ‘Why did I even want to go on this trip?’ she thought. ‘Oh that’s right I wanted to learn magic because mom and dad won’t let me.’ She sighed. ‘Oh how I miss them… No! I have to continue on this is a chance of a life time!’ She silently corrected herself. Skyla’s magic around the key had started to fade now the key was starting to hover up and down and Skyla started struggling with the weight of the key. She yawned but almost jumped out of her coat at the sound of metal hitting carpet.

She looked down at see the key had fallen. She tried picking it up with her magic, but none was available to use. She sighed again and picked up they key in her mouth and headed back towards the car her and her friends were staying at as unnoticed shadows followed her. She felt a sudden tingle in her stomach making her stop to groan as a chill ran down her spine. ‘Ugh maybe a bottle was too much coffee.’ She groggily thought as she started walked to the door

One of the unknown shadows behind her looked like he was about to pounce but was stopped by another. Skyla opened the door and shut it behind her a click sounded telling the shadows she had locked the door again.

“Black fire! What was that all about?!” Whispered an angry shadow. The other shadow known as Black fire just shook her head and sighed in disappointment.

“Well you were about to attack her.” She said plainly.

“Isn’t that what the boss said?”

“Yes but where will we take her? We are already too far from the kingdom to teleport there and it will take up to much of our magic. You have to wait until the right time Silver Wing.”

Silver Wing sighed. “This better not take too long.”

“Patience Silver Wing.” Black fire said softly. “Demon Shadow is with them and he will do anything is his power to keep her away. She said starting to walk down the aisle away from the door.

Silver Wing followed behind grumbling angrily to himself that was all that could be heard the quiet empty car until he spoke up. “Why did he have to be one of those poor excuses for changelings?”

“It was his decision.” Black Fire sighed. “He would have made a great king just like his sister would make a great queen someday.” They opened the next door and quickly changed back into their disguises. Black Fire felt a burst of quick heat as green flames swallowed her, as quickly as they were there, they were gone. Here black and holey coat was replaced with a thick unicorn one pony one, she had a dark green coat and a jet black mane the cutie mark was ______.

“Agreed I mean he would have been able to spread the changeling kingdom beyond its limit!” He commented. It was now his turn to feel the head of green flames developed him. Once they were gone he was a red Pegasus stallion with an orange mane, his cutie mark was a _________. “He is a born leader too.” He added once the transformation was finished.

“Yea… Alright get into character we will be arriving in the morning. We better get some sleep before then or we won’t have enough energy to change, or makes plans.” With that they went through the doors to join the rest of the ponies.

Celestia’s sun shone through the window of the train but it was seen by nopony in the car except for one. Creamsicle had gotten three bowls of ‘Lucky Horseshoes Cereal’ and already had them on the little table she made sure to let her friends have extra marshmallows is theirs. She opened the window and took a deep breath as if in the woods, though it was hard knowing the train was moving but she managed to do it.

She got down leaving the window open and a few light things flying around from the wind. She first opened the curtain to Blue Ivy’s bed to find a little black changeling instead. She didn’t gasp or look at it in horror, she looked at the creature as if it was an everyday thing. She smirked and shouted in his ear loud enough to wake him but not their companion. “Rise and Shine!” The changeling gasped and sat up quickly hitting his head on the roof of his bed with a loud bang.

“Ow! Creamsicle what was that for?” he whined rubbing his now sore head.

“I need your help!” She said as she grabbed his hoof and pulled him down. Almost harder than he hit his head, he slammed into the ground with a thud almost making the whole car shake.

Slowly he stood up and groaned in pain. “Why do you keep doing that?” He rubbed his head once more before talking again. “What was so important that you had to hurt me? Twice!”

Creamsicle laughed nervously “Hehe… sorry about that.” she apologized. “But... I need you to kiss the Princess.” She said as if it were nothing.

“W-What?” He blushed. “Why do I need to kiss her?” He asked looking between Creamsicle and Skyla.

“Duh! The princess wakes up to the kiss of a prince!” She sighed and rolled her eyes. “You know... In like sleeping beauty!” she looked at him like he didn’t know anything.

“That was a movie! I’m not kissing her!” Creamsicle sighed and disappointed sigh.

“Fine but how do I wake her? I don’t want her to get mad at me.”

“Just don’t wake her the way you woke me up.”

“But that’s how I wake everypony up!”

“That’s why your parents wake up before you.”

“Ugh fine you wake her up then.”

“Alright.” He leaned down to nudge her but was stopped. “What?”

“Uh... You uh... you’re still a… you know...” looking at her puzzled she sighed. “You’re still a changeling.” she whispered annoyed.

His eyes widened. The changeling stepped away from Skyla to a clear space. Once there he was surrounded by familiar green flames, when they died down, now standing in the changelings spot was Blue Ivy. “Don’t tell Skyla I don’t want her to know yet.”

“Oh C’mon I kept your secret for two years I won’t tell nopony. Plus it’s your deal so you should be the one to tell her.”

Blue Ivy sighed in relief. “Thanks.” He said as he walked over back to Skyla. He nudged her shoulder once, then twice and she stirred. “Skyla time to wake up we have a big day ahead of us.”

“But Daddy! I want to sleep some more.” She complained not bothering to look. Blue Ivy repeated his words again this time getting a different response. “Dad? do you have a cold? your voice sounds different, But familiar.” She mumbled still half asleep. The two giggled at how cute she was when being woken up.

“Skyla It’s me Blue Ivy.”

“And Creamsicle.” The filly in the back added.

“W-what? Blue… Blue Ivy!?” The princess suddenly jerked up almost hitting her horn on the top of the bed like her friend. “W-What are you doing in my roo-” She looked around noticing she was not where she thought she was. Blushing like crazy of embarrassment she watched as her friends burst out laughing, falling to the floor.

Skyla gave a glare at them as if trying to burn a hole through her friends. “That’s not funny!” She snapped. Noticing she was not happy they quickly got back to their hooves.

“Sorry!” They said in unison.

“Skyla’s glare softened. It’s ok, sorry for snapping.”

“It’s ok! Hey I made you guys breakfast!” She said running over to the three bowls of cereal. While she was not looking Blue Ivy stared at Skyla wondering when the right time would be to tell her about who he really was. Of course this would be much harder than when he told Creamsicle because her parents were nearly torn apart from his mother and their home was almost imprisoned her his father. The more he thought of it the harder it was to get the courage to tell her.

“Hello? Equestria to Ivy!” Skyla shouted. He jumped out of his thoughts and realized Skyla was waving a hoof in front of his face to get his attention, she wasn’t wearing a cloak like yesterday, but a saddle bag to cover her wings.

“W-Wait what?” He stammered.

“The conductor says were here.” She replied. They looked at the conductor who was leaving to go let out the other passengers.

“LET’S GO! LET’S GO! OH! I’M SO EXCITED!” Creamsicle shouted. As she started for the door.

“I can’t wait to see Aunt Twilight again!” Skyla added.

“Wait? Do you know where she lives?” Blue Ivy asked nervous the answer was going to be no.

“Of course I know where she lives. This isn’t my first time here.” She turned towards the door but then turned back. “I also want you guys to meet her friends I know Blue Ivy would like to meet Rainbow Dash and Creamsicle I think you would get along with pinkie pie really well.

They all headed out of the train so excited they hardly noticed the pink blur that tackled their princess friend.

(Chapter 1) A Princess is born

Princess Cadence held the newborn in her hooves "isn't she the cutest thing!". Shining Armor quietly agreed as Princess Twilight Sparkle walked through the door and following her was spike and the mane 6. "Hey twilie!" Shining Armor said very quietly. "I thought you were only bringing spike along with you" Princess Cadence said nervously. "I tried to tell them it wouldn't be a good idea but they just had to bring presents to the new princess, plus what race is she? unicorn or alicorn?"
