It was just another day in Ponyville. Everypony was hurrying about, buying items from local stores or chatting with friends- or, just taking a walk around town.
"Hey, Apple Bloom!" an orange pegusas called. She was around the age of seventeen, and running towards another mare- tan-yellow with a red mane.
"Hey, y'all." the other are replied.
"Scoots!" a white unicorn waved.
"Hi, Sweetie." Scootallo nodded.
"Wha' bring you around here?" Apple Bloom asked, "Won't the academy miss y'all?"
"Nah, we have a vacation. And what better way to spend a vacation then with you guys?" the pegusas smiled.
"Well, I'll hang out later- I've got some new lyrics to try out, and my Boss said if I don't sing them by this afternoon, I'm fired." Sweetie Belle frowned.
"Go ahead." Scootallo said blankly. Although her tone was flat, her eyes said she was glad the white unicorn was leaving.
"Well, I've sure missed y'all since ya've left." the tan-yellow earth pony said.
"Yeah, I've missed both of you, but..." Scootallo trailed off.
"Hmm?" Apple Bloom looked back up after handing another earth pony an apple and taking a bit.
"...I missed you more."
"Wha'?"
"Apple Bloom, your a great friend, and-"
"Well, that don't give y'all the right ta' treat Sweetie like that!" Apple Bloom growled angrily. She glared at Scootallo. In most cases, the earth pony would've stormed off, but this was her post. Scootallo sighed and trotted away in defeat, her wings dragging on the ground. The tan-yellow mare rolled her eyes, "Stupid academy." she said before handing another customer a pie and taking more bits.
"She hates me!" the orange teen cried.
"I'm sure Apple Bloom doesn't-" Sweetie began.
"Yes, she does! And it's your FAULT!" Scootallo screamed. She flew away speedily, her wing strokes fueled by rage.
"WELL, BE LIKE THAT THEN" the white unicorn was clearly hurt, and her voice squeaked from her earlier singing. She galloped to Apple Bloom's post to complain, but that wasn't where Scootallo was going.
"Hey, Mini-bolt!" Derpy smiles, sitting on her thundercloud. But the orange pegasi paid no attention. "Fine, leave." Derpy frowned. This happened to, in fact, everyone in Ponyville. And everyone was upset.
"Scootallo, y'all STOP." Apple Bloom screamed. The raged mare stormed past a mob of townsponies to confront the purple-eyed pegusas.
"Why should I?" Scootallo whimpered. She was completely out of it.
"Well, if you didn't notice, it's 'cause of THAT." the Earth Pony pointed to the town square where everyone was huddled together and arguing.
"If you hate me, everyone should hate each other." the pegasi hoarsely replied.
"I don't hate you! I just want y'all to be fair to Sweetie Belle. She's just as good a friend as me." Apple Bloom's eyes softened.
"But... Bloom, I want you to be... more then a friend."
"Scootallo... I..."
"Want to be with me forever?"
"No, Scoots, I just.... I don't swing that way."
"Oh." the orange mare blinked. She flew up to a nearby cloud and stayed. The whole town had been watching, and if anyone wasn't crying, they were close.
"Scootallo!" Apple Bloom called.
No response, just a small but noticeable whimper, and a sniffle.
"Please? Come down?"
...Silence.
"Scootallo, I lied to y'all."
The pegasi poked her head to look down from the sky, but that was it.
"I... I do date mares, but... Scoots, I'm engaged. To another Apple Farmer, her name's Tart Sauce."
"Really?" Scootallo pouted disbelivingly. Tears flowed down her face, soaking the cloud and turning it gray.
"Yes, I'm sorry I lied."
"...No, I'm sorry."
"What?"
"You are a good pony, I should've thought somepony would... catch you first."
"Do y'all forgive meh?"
"Yeah. Is it likewise?"
"If y'all are one of my bridesmaids."
"...Alright." Scootallo replied. She few down from the cloud and gave Apple Bloom a hug.
"Uh... didn't we just talk 'bout-"
"As a friend." the orange mare replied.
"Oh. Don't be sad, Scootallo, there are tons of fish in the sea." Apple Bloom hugged her back. "Now, y'all wanna see my dress?"
" Well, I guess... I dunno. But the dress? You bet 'cha! Oh, and I need to know the other bridesmaids."
"Oh, it's just Sweetie Belle and A.J., nopony y'all don't know."
"Ah! I haven't seen Applejack in a while!"
"Oh, she already got married! You sure missed a lot up in the academy."
"They train you hard!"
"Hey, did I tell you about..."
The voices trailed off and the crowd watched them leave. Everyone acknowledged they had just seen true, true friendship. Then the all cheered. "Wait for me, guys!" Sweetie called, chasing after her friends. The mood had definitely been lifted, and everything went back to the way it had been before Scootallo had arrived to their small, small-town home. Except for Derpy, she kept running around and saying, "That's not right! She needs to say 'sorry' to everypony!"
But no one paid any attention except for Pinkie Pie, who joined in later.
The end
(Apple Bloom and Tart Sauce lived happily, Tart Sauce changing her name to Tart Apple. Oh, and Applejack was married to Peach Apple, previously Peach Cylinder)!
