SnowFire Blitz - The Zebra/Changeling Hybrid
Chapter 1 - The Beginning (Revised)
Chapter 1
The Beginning
My name is SnowFire Blitz. When I was born, my parents were taken and replaced by changelings. They later took me to the hive and used some sort of magic to try and make me one. The spell didn’t fully work though, because to this day, I still look like my regular self. Only one thing has changed.
My zebra DNA now had changeling DNA intertwined.
Some mornings, I will wake up with chitin on me, but can easily get rid of it with a good shower or just some water from the sink. The fact remains though, I can change what I look like at will.
My story starts a few days after I turned 13

SnowFire woke up early that morning. It was the day he was going to visit the Royal palace. He lived in an orphanage in the lower Manehattan area for the longest time. He left a few days ago to travel to Canterlot. Even though he has never been there before, he feels like he knows what to do. He was going to try to become a member of the Solar Guard.
He had heard stories that the true way to join without the age law was to sneak in at night and walk into one of the princesses rooms and wake them.
“I will make everypony proud. I will prove the others wrong.” He said to himself as he neared the gates to Canterlot’s east district. He walked around the town for a while, trying to see where he was. He didn’t look like his normal self though. Most ponies would think that a red zebra would seem odd and report it. That would ruin the plan indefinitely.
He looked like a young, greyish, earth pony tourist with a blue and black mane. That was his natural mane color.
He walked up to some random mare outside of a coffee shop and tapped her hoof. She turned around so quick and at a sharp angle that she bumped into him. The movement almost caused him to fall. "Oh, I'm Sorry dear. Are you ok?"
SnowFire just nodded as he spoke. "I will be fine, thank you. Do you by chance know how I can get to the Royal Palace?" he asked her.
"Hm, If my memory serves right, you will want to go down that street a few blocks, and take a left. after that it's about a mile down. I don't know if you would be able to get in though. Princess Celestia is having a Summit Meeting with the neighboring nations today and might have closed the castle to visitors."
He thanked the mare and walked off in the direction she told him to. He thought of a plan of what to do if it was closed or if he was asked why he was there.
As he arrived, he was stopped by a guard. “State your business.” The guard said with a deep tone.
SnowFire had his plan ready.. “I am doing research on art and was hoping to see the stained glass windows that show the heroic ponies of the past.”
The guard just looked at him for a moment and noticed that SnowFire’s cutie mark was a paintbrush. “Ok. Just don’t get into any trouble. If you get lost, either make your way to the garden or find another guard.” SnowFire nodded and walked in. He was surprised to see that the gate guards were as dumb as he had heard. As soon as he was in, he cleared his flank of the fake cutie mark he had on.
As he walked down the hall, he felt like he was being watched. He turned around to see that a blue alicorn was following him. He stopped and waited for the princess of the night to get near. He bowed as she got near. “Good morning to you, my princess.” He spoke, with a hint of happiness in his voice.
Luna giggled at the chivalry of the young colt. “Greetings, young one. I saw you walking past my room and figured, ‘why not make a new friend’.” She said as she stopped right next to him. They started walking around the palace, talking about the different art that was all along the walls.
They eventually arrived at the stained glass windows. "They are even more beautiful than I ever imagined." SnowFire said in awe. Luna giggled and walked over to a table that had some books on it, a small frown on her face. "Princess Luna, what's wrong?" he asked, genuine worry on his face.
"Nothing young one." she stated. "Nothing at all. You just remind me of a friend I once had, long ago." she finished as she looked at one of the windows.
When 3 o’clock came around, Luna lead him to the door of her room and bid him farewell. He then proceeded to leave the castle, making sure to memorize every little detail as he walked.
As he left the castle, he realized that the guard had changed. The new one just gave him a nod as he exited. SnowFire walked off into the bustle of the market to use whatever bits he had to grab some food and a place to sleep for a few nights.
The mare at the front counter of the hotel didn’t ask if he was alone or not. Most children move out before they are old enough to even have a job. He paid his bits for a one night stay and went straight to his room. Once there, he went to the phone and called his sister.
“Hey Melody, it’s SnowFire.” He said into the phone. He was met with a lot of yelling and questions. “It’s ok sis. I’m in Canterlot right now. You can tell the manager that I am safe. I won’t be trying for it tonight though. Too tired and too many guards. Monday nights are really lax though so it should be no problem.” He didn’t get a chance to say anything else, as his sister decided to hang up on him.
The next morning was uneventful. He woke up, ate breakfast, that the hotel insisted was on the house, took a shower and then left. He went around Canterlot through the day and waited until he noticed the Night Guard taking post. He waited to see them so he could mimic their look. He loved how they all looked the same, made it easier to look like one. He figured it would be easier because he had to do the mission at night and a Day Guard would seem out of place.
He walked away a few blocks and walked into an alley. When he walked out, he looked exactly like every other Night Guard in Equestria. He walked up to the door and was immediately stopped by the guards. “Password.” One said.
‘Crap, Didn’t think about that. Must be what they do to make sure it’s a guard.’ He thought. He gave a quick thought before saying the thing that he thought would work. “Princess Luna is best pony.” He said. The guards nodded and stepped aside, allowing SnowFire to enter.
When he was in and the doors were closed, one thought entered his mind.
‘Entry obtained. Operation: Early Sun-Rise in effect.’
