Mixed up Memories

Ryu had another happy dream last night. Both Ditzy and himself were on the beach looking at the sunset together when Ditzy said to Ryu.

Hey Ryu. I have to tell you something.

Yeah what is it Ditzy?

I... I love you Ryu. *holds him gently*

!! D...Ditzy... I... I feel the same way about you too.

Really?

*He nods his head* I really do. Here let me prove it. *holds the back of her head and kisses her on the lips*

*She kisses back* *breaks up the kiss* Ryu. You made me the happiest mare ever.

I'm glad we are together. *kisses her again and then Ryu wakes up*

Ryu woke up with a happy expression on his face. He got out of bed and checked to see if Ditzy was awake. Sure enough she was awake.

M...morning Ditzy.

Morning Ryu. *smiles at him*

*his face turns red*

Are you ok? *walks up to him and puts a hoof on his forehead* Hmmm you don't seem sick. Must be something else.

Y..your most likely right Ditzy. *smiles and looks at the plate* T..thanks for cooking breakfast.

It's no big deal. It will be the last meal that I cook you for a while. *smiles, sits down and eats her breakfast.*

*does the same*

After the both of them ate their breakfast.

Thank you for the meal Ditzy.

No problem Ryu,

... ( I should tell her about the dream I had.) Umm Ditzy.

Yeah?

There is something I have to tell you. Last night I had a dream-

Ryu was interrupted by the sound of somepony knocking on the door.

I'll get it. *opens the door and see's the castle guards in the door way*

"We are here for Mr. Ryu Seron." Said one of Luna's guards.

Ryu... I think they're here for you.

Yeah... I know. *gets up and walks out the door.* Greetings Princess Luna.

Greetings to you as well. Are you ready?

*looks at Ditzy, she smiles at you. You smiles back* I am. *as he gets in the carriage he see's all his friends sending him off*

Hope your training goes well! Please come back Ryu~ Said both Twilight and Spike.

Please be safe! O...ok.

Train hard Ryu~ I know you'll do great!

Do your very best darling! Become a fine and noble knight!

Ya better come back in one piece or I'll knock ya upside the head!

Come back soon Ryuie. I still have to throw that party for you.  *smiles* Oh but then you'll be a knight! That means I need to plan a "You've become a Canterlot guard" party.

I will everyone. I Pinkie promise. "Cross my heart, Hope to fly, Stick a cupcake in my eye." *does the motions as he says the words.

Ryu! Please come back soon. I'll miss you!

Ryu looked back at Ditzy and ask the Princess to stop the carriage.

Princess please give a minute. I need to say something to Ditzy.

Alright. *stops the carriage* Take your time

*He jumps down, goes to Ditzy and hugs her* I will come back. *kisses her cheek* For you Ditzy. *runs back to the carriage and jumps in*

Let's go. *the carriage flys back to Canterlot Castle.*

Having just been kissed on the cheek so suddenly by Ryu, Ditzy was standing near her house in a daze with her face slowly turning red

..... *face turns red*

Ooo darling looks like some mare has a very special somepony. *giggles*

W...what n..no that was a good bye kiss.... *blushes more*

That was so sweet of Ryuie to do.  *smiles and bounces up and down* I never knew he had feelings for you Ditzy!

*Fluttershy flies to Ditzy and hugs her* I am so happy for you.

b...but girls. We aren't even together.

Yet.

Well that won't last much longer. When he comes back I bet he'll ask you to be his special somepony.

I second that.

Me too.

Count me in.

*Ditzy's face turns completely red and then she passes out*

High above the sky of Equestria. In the carriage with Princess Luna.

Hehehe never thought you would kiss Ms. Ditzy Doo in front of her friends like that.

*He blushes* W...well. Me either..... L..Luna.. I had this dream last night.

No need to tell me. I already know what happens.

W..what?

As Princess of the night I am able to go into other ponies dreams while they are asleep. I only do that when a pony is having a nightmare.

Oh... I.. I see.

We are almost to Canterlot.

Ok.

After a few more minutes we landed at the Canterlot castle. Luna and myself got out of the carriage. She told me to follow her to the throne room to meet somepony. I followed her to the throne room where I met Princess Celestia.

!!! P...Princess Celestia! *bows to her*

*She giggled a bit* It's ok Ryu. Please raise your head.

*He raises his head* O..ok.

Now before the training begins I want to know a little about you.

W..well... Truth be told Princess. I can't really remember much of my past. Most of it's fogged up but bits and pieces are coming back to me little by little.

I see. Well we can figure it out as you train here.

Ok. I'm ready.

Good now follow me. I will take you to your first teacher.

Luna and Ryu walked through the castle to the guard captains room.

Ryu. I'd like you to meet Captain Metal Storm. He is the lead instructor and trainer of new recruits. When it comes to combat and weapon training you will find no pony else like him.

Captain Metal Storm was your average stallion living in Hoofington for most of his young life. He always had a interest in becoming a protector of the little ones so he traveled to Canterlot and joined the Celestial Guards. He trained vigorously for many hours of the day. He was skilled in swordsmanship and was able to stand up to any foe that he faced. After 10 years or so he raised up to the rank of Captain and Princess Celestia allowed him to train younger cadets that wanted to follow the same path he took all those years ago.

You are too kind Princess Luna. *looks at Ryu* Hmmm.... *slightly smiles* This one will be a challenge. *he laughed jokingly*

Indeed. Now you will be training with him for at least 2 weeks. When he see's fit to pass you, only then will you move on to your next teacher.

I understand Princess Luna.

Good, then I will leave you to it Captain. *leaves the room*

Alright first task is to put this suit of armor on. *drops the armor set in front of him.*

Ok. *grabs pieces of the armor and puts them on one at a time. After 2 minutes* Finished sir.

Very good. Now I want you to run 20 laps around the castle while in the armor.

20 laps in this armor..... Understood sir.

Start at the entrance of the castle doors.

Ok. *walks to the castle doors and begins his 20 lap run*

-5 laps later-

Hmmm he's slowly gaining speed as time passes... interesting. Maybe he has potential after all. *he said to himself*

-10 more laps later-

(Man this is getting tiresome. But I must press on.)

• The last 5 laps later-

Alright that's enough.

*falls down on the ground.*

You get a 10 minute break then we start our next part of my training course.

Ok .. then. *pants*

-10 minutes later-

Ok now we begin your combat training. *places a sword in front of him*

*stands up*

I want you to do 50 swings while holding the sword in you mouth then I want you to uses your magic to do 60 swings. When your done with that I want you to repeat both actions again until I tell you to stop.

O...ok sir. *picks up the sword with his mouth and proceeds to 50 swings of the sword.*

-50 swings later-

Very good. Now use magic to do 60 swings of the sword.

Ok. *does 60 magic sword swings*

-60 magic swings later-

Very good now do them again.

Ok sir!

• 10 minutes later-

Very nice. That will be it for today. From here on out I want you repeat everything you've done today until I think you are ready to move on.

Understood sir.

So for the next few days Ryu had repeated the same routine of running 20 laps while in full armor, did 50 swings of the sword in his mouth and 60 swings of the sword using magic. After only a week Captain Metal Storm had called Ryu in to tell him the good news.

Ryu. I am proud to say that you have passed my training course. You are able to go on to the next Teacher.

Thank you for the training Captain.

No problem. Now move on out cadet!

Yes sir!

Ryu walks out of the guard tower and heads to the throne room to see if he can find Princess Luna or Princess Celestia at all.

Princess Luna? Are you hear?

No she isn't. But I'm here. *a Mare wearing a ninja outfit jumps down from the ceiling* Welcome Mr Seron.

!!!!..... I'm guessing your my next teacher.

You are correct. I am General Shadow Hoof but please just call me Shadow Hoof. I will be teaching you how to be stealthy at given moment.

General Shadow Hoof was a unicorn coming from a far away land somewhere up north past Canterlot. She lived in a small village learning the ways of Ninjutsu from her grandpa when a group of Diamond Dogs came and attacked the village. Everypony in the village was able to hold off the Diamond Dogs for a while. But the Diamond Dogs had a substantial amount of reinforcements and soon the whole village was wiped out. Only Shadow Hoof and her grandpa were able to make it out alive. They fled to Canterlot and Shadow Hoof swore revenge on the one's who had killed her friends and the rest of her village.

Alight now follow me. *walks to the maze*

*He follows her* So is this where I'm going to be training?

Yes but first. *uses her magic to cover the entire maze in a dark cloud* Your first task will be to make it to the center of the maze. There will be guards placed throughout the maze, see them as obstacles in your path. Try to avoid their line of site as much as possible. If a guard see's you nothing will happen but that will count against you in the final score. Are you ready?

I am ready Sensei.

Good but first put this on. *hands him a ninja outfit*

*He quickly puts it on and walks to the entrance*

Alright begin. *she disappears and re-appears in the center of the maze*

Ryu slowly enters the maze. He was constantly looking around to see if there were any guards around him. As he gets deeper into the maze there were more guards posted in there making it more difficult for Ryu to go undetected. After 20 minutes he finally reached the center of the maze.

I... did it. *he pants slightly*

Very good Mr. Seron. No pony noticed you at all.  I'm very proud of you my student. *smiles*

Thank you sensei.

Now we will head to the archery range and you will practice throwing some shurikens and kunai knives. *walks to the archery range*

*Follows behind her*

Here we are. So basically you need to hit the target and improve your aim from there. So get to it.

Ok. *picks up a shuriken and begins his training.*

-2 hours later-

Ok I am back. Lets see how you did. *looks at the target board.* Hmmmm not bad.

Thank you sensei.

Now as with the Captains training you will be practicing what you just learned over and over until I say you are done.

I will sensei.

Like he had done before Ryu begun training under General Shadow Hoof. Ryu repeated each of the tests that he had done the first day. General Shadow Hoof would also put some questions about Ninjutsu every so often to keep Ryu's mind sharp. After the 2 week period was done General Shadow Hoof had called Ryu into her office to tell of his progress.

Mr. Seron, come in please.

Ok sensei. *walks in* What is it you need of me?

I'm here to say that you are done with my training. You've passed it. *smiles* I'm honored to call you a fellow ninja.

Thank you very much sensei.  *smiles*

Now I have something to give you. *pulls out the ninja gear that Ryu wore during his training* This is yours to keep. I may need of your help in the future. So always keep that with you.

I will and thank you sensei. *takes the ninja outfit* So where do I report next?

You report to me my young student. *Luna flies in through the window and lands in front of the two.* I will be your final teacher.

Y...you Princess Luna?! I...it's an honor to learn from you. *bows in front of her*

Raise your head Ryu Seron. I really don't care for my students to bow. I know it's tradition for subjects to bow but it is still uncomfortable to me none the less.

O..ok. *raises his head*

You have done well to learn from both Captain Metal Storm and General Shadow Hoof. Those two are some of the best teachers in Canterlot.

You are too kind Princess. *smiles*

Now if you could grab onto me I will take you to somewhere else for your final training session.

!!! *He blushes at first but cautiously grabs a holds of Princess Luna* T..there.

Good now let's go. *uses her magic to teleport both herself and Ryu Seron to her bed chambers*

Whoa.... That was a trip.. *feels dizzy*

Yes, Teleporting to another area with somepony holding onto you can be disorienting.

I'll say.... so where are we?

You are in my bed chambers.

Y...you bed chambers.. *blushes* Oh my...

Its nothing to get embarrassed about. *she giggles a bit* Now before we get to your training I want to talk to you for a bit.

Ok Luna... What do you want to talk about?

I want to know what you are. I know you are not a pony. I've seen many ponies walking around in all my years but none walk the way you do. You have a different aura is emanating from you. I think I know what you are.

Y...you do?

Yes. I believe that you are a human.

!!!! *Ryu is stunned at what Princess Luna has figured out on her own* ....

So is it true Ryu Seron? Are you a human? *she looked at Ryu with curious eyes*

.... Yes it's true. I am a human. Are you shocked by this?

Not entirely. You see. Human's have been in our history since me and my sister were foals. But so little of human's is known we'd just assumed that they were a myth. I am glad to see that history wasn't wrong.

I see. I can understand that.

Now do you remember how you got here in Equestria?

Not much Princess... All I remember is that I was walking in a forest going to visit someone dear to me...then I got knocked over the head by someone .... after that... nothing. I woke in the Everfree Forest where Ditzy found me.

I see. *thinks to herself for a bit* Ok. That will do for now. I will ask more of you later when you have remembered more. *stands up* Now lets begin your final training session.

*Ryu stands up as well.* Alright. I am ready Princess Luna.

Good lets begin. *uses her magic to make a barrier surrounding Ryu.

!!! What is this Princess!?

It is a magic barrier that will block any magical attacks targeting anything outside the barrier. I will place magical statues inside the barrier for you, Now when I do this I want you to attack the statues with a good amount of power and accuracy at the same time.

I ....see. I think I can do it Luna.

Ok let's begin. *she sent in a armless statue.* Now attack it's head, chest and legs each until they all break.

Got it! *he fires several blasts at the each point in the statue. It takes about 10 minutes until the whole statue crumbles to pieces.* T..there. It's done. *pants a bit*

Hmmm.... It'll do. But you need to be faster and stronger at this. *gets rid of the magical barrier* Now for the other part of my teaching. I will give a book of spells and you will choose which ones you want to learn. You can only choose a couple of spells other wise you would be here for months. *drops the book in front of him* Now I won't be here to supervise you during this part of the training so you must take great care in not to destroy my room. The first spell I recommend is Teleportation. Well I bid you fare well and good luck in your training. *teleports out of the room.*

Ok lets learn some spells.  *he flipped to the page where it said teleportation spell.* Ok here it is. *reads through the pages and after 10 minutes of reading those pages* I see. Ok... Let's try this. *stands up and focuses his magic and then he teleports from the bed side to the front of Luna's room* Yes I did it~ *smiles*

Very good my student. Now that will be all for today. You will train like you did before but this time it will be 3 weeks. You will learn 3 more spells and perfect them. This will be the hardest training for you to accomplish. Now get some rest. Your training begins again at 7:00 am.

Ok Luna. *walks all the way to his quarters, gets into bed and falls asleep*

-The next morning-

Ryu get up and goes to Princess Luna and begins her training once again. First it was the statue busting course again but this time the statue was a little bit heavier and thicker. It was just like yesterday with him crumbling the statue in 10 minutes, After that he continued to work on the teleportation spell a little more. He didn't want to learn any new spells until he was certain he had mastered the teleportation spell. This cycle repeated for a while until two days later when he wanted to learn a barrier spell.

Ok. Lets try this out. *envisions himself forming a barrier around himself and after a few seconds the barrier is formed around him* I did.  *but as he was about to jump for joy the barrier had disappeared.* What happened? Why did my barrier go away?

*Luna appears in the room* It's because you weren't focusing enough and when you lost your focus the barrier disappeared. You need to keep your focus on keeping the barrier up.

I understand teacher. I will do better next time.

I'm sure you will now start the spell over.

So Ryu kept practicing his magic, eventually he had had mastered the barrier spell and in no time at all he had mastered a healing spell.

I am very surprised you mastering a healing spell in no time at all.

Well, maybe its because I have a excellent teacher. *he compliment Luna.

Why thank you Ryu Seron.

A full 2 weeks had passed and he had one more spell to learn. Luna stopped the statue busting part of his training for him to focus and this last spell.

You have done well my student. I'm proud to be your teacher. What is the last spell you want to learn?

Sensei, I want to learn a lightning spell.

? Why do you want to learn a lightning spell my student?

I'm not to sure. Maybe it's a thing from my past or something?

I see. Well there are a few lightning spells to choose from. *pulls out the book and turns to the elemental section.* Here there are three lightning spells.  Lightning Stream, Thunder Spark, and Thunder Slash.

I'll take Thunder Slash.

Ok. Now let me read what it does. "Thunder Slash is a move that generates a lightning slash at users enemies or and it can be infused into any weapon you like and will deal extra damage to your enemy"

Ok. *pulls out a dagger* Princess. Can you make a barrier around me?

Of course. *makes a barrier around Ryu and steps back.*

*Ryu concentrates his magic and then lightning starts to come out then he transfers the lightning to the dagger and shot the bolt of thunder at the barrier with some force behind it.*

Very good. This barrier will last for about 20 minutes. Use that time to practice the spell. *leaves the room*

Ryu practices the spell with all his might and after 20 minutes, he was starting to get the hang of the Spell. The next few days he had practiced Thunder Slash on some training dummies in the courtyard and after a full week he was done with his Guard Training.

Ryu. I'm proud to say that you are done with your training. You'd advance much faster then any other cadet that has come train in Canterlot. Even faster then General Shadow Hoof and Captain Metal Storm did when those two first came here.

Its been a honor to learn from great teachers.

Now we need to process how well you did during training. We will call for you again in a about a week or so.  So you are free to go back home and relax until we call for you again. We will take you home in the carriage again.
